My experience with this website is positive. I am quite satisfied with an option to work part-time and earn for my living once I need it. Easy-going platform interface, comfortable conditions and rules. Like their orders and the way they provide info and support.
I have completed all the tests and submitted education certificates. In a few days, their manager, Angelina, contacted me and requested a photo of my passport. Even though it is not a governmental position, but an illegal ghostwriting service, they still require numerous documents. The next day, Angelina rejected my application, stating 'experienced managers found the document is altered.' However, my document is absolutely legal and can be checked via official checkers. Angelina refused to provide an explanation. When I offered an official governmental check of my document to prove its authenticity, Angelina disappeared. I found: 1. The company is illegal and gathers documents for illegal purposes. NEVER send them your docs. 2. They operate under FAKE names! Just check their LinkedIn profile: the location is Ukraine, the registration address is Cyprus, while they claim to be from the UK. 3. AVOID them; otherwise, they will steal your documents. I've been working at Writerbay for about two years. Before I found this precious harbor for freelance writers I encountered with a great variety of scam companies that were not willing to pay or simply paid partial. Of course Writerbay is not so immaculate place and it has its dark and white sides, but still benefits prevail the deficiencies. First I will start with disadvantages. Registration process is quite complicated. It requires good knowledge of English and different formatting styles, but I think that such process is justified, because this company unlike any other strives for quality. The second and as for me the biggest disadvantage is that they are making payments only once a month, Id like it to be increased at least to two times, but we have what we have.
Now here come the advantages. What I really value at Writerbay is their support team that is available 24/7. When you are chatting with them, you feel that from that end is sitting a person (but not unemotional robot), who will listen to all your doubts and pains and provide with a solution. The second point which I value is the bonuses system they offer. After half a year I have got a promotion and a lot of bonuses, moreover I am always striving to deliver the high quality product, because I know that all my endeavors will be rewarded. The last, but not the least thing is that membership is absolutely free of charge. I hope that my comment was helpful and maybe someone will have a desire to join this great team.

I am a writer for WriterBay and I would others out there to know what goes on behind the scenes here... So over this last month, which has been the dry season, I have spent a lot of time trying to get files and getting them done. But here is the best part. WriterBay has this amazing support team that you out there do not know exists. Without this team, I could not produce the high quality papers I do, even though I am good at it, because I need their input, consideration in helping me with time, finding me jobs when the pot is slim, and well they make me laugh. They work with me through the night and when I am ready to pull my hair out with something that is driving me crazy, well they are there for me. They have to be the link between the writer who is trying to give you, the client, exactly what you want, while trying to figure out from the client what they want. They are mini therapists. There is a pecking order at this company. They have writers who they give all of the highest paying orders to, and everyone else must bite, scratch, and scramble to get decent paying work. I am one of these writers who is not favored within the organization even though I have been working there for fifteen months, and I have my share of highly rated orders that I have completed. Yet, I literally have to apply to twenty orders just to get a handful, and if I'm lucky, they'll throw me a scrap or two of a high-paying order like a dog.
Because of these conditions the company creates, it leads to limited chances to make money every single day your work for the company. It even affects writers when they have a contest. For example, their latest contests call for writers to try and write as many pages as they can within a month or have the highest amount of rush orders. We all know that this contest is fixed, because only their darling butt-kissers get the urgent orders, and the rest of us get some only occasionally. It's not a real contest where everyone has an equal chance to succeed and get a bonus.
If they stopped rigging the entire company so that only a handful of people profit, they might have a really good thing going. I don't know if it's a cultural thing or what, but as polite as the staff communicates, most of the time (you have those who do not and try their best to interfere with all of your orders to make life difficult for you), you won't get a fair shake at this company, no matter how many favors they talk you into doing for you where you will wind up making only a few ducats an hour.

Funny, how often I stumble upon negative reviews about WriterBay, yet the people have nothing constructive or argumentative to say.
Most likely, there are two explanations:
1) People didn't manage to get their application accepted, and focus on leaving negativity all over the web rather than reflect on their writing skills and academic background. WB has high standards for the people they choose to work with, and it's reasonable.
2) People screwed up and got their account terminated, which is, once again, a hightime to reflect upon their professionalism rather than say the company has mistreated them.
I have been working for WB for over four years, and was "a pioneer" there. Over the years, I have observed the website and the company to develop, improve and grow. Yes, WB has its drawbacks, but I choose to look at the positive sides, and, most importantly, I appreciate that I have been able to provide for my little (but, nonetheless, needy) family with the money I make with the company's help.

I worked for writerbay for two years. In the beginning it was fabulous, sure, most projects paid peanuts, but after 2-3 months I began getting assigned personal statements and admissions essays that really paid quite well - even got a job paying $48/pp. But this didn't last. They reduced the prices they paid out to the writers drastically, and began to be late with payments. The last straw was after I had written over 300 papers for them with only PERFECT feedback, some jackass customer didn't like his personal statement. They FINED me because he didn't like it - there was nothing grammatically wrong, and all the instructions were followed perfectly, I stopped writing for them and declined the boatload of orders from customers that requested me.
The one bright spot was I went back and was able to find email addresses and names of customers in the orders by looking at the uploaded files metadata and started my own website that I managed to convince many of my customers to use instead of their garbage - which clearly wasn't secure.

think again before writing for these jackasses.

Over the past year, there was only one month when PayPal delayed the payouts to our active writers, and we addressed the issue by promptly informing our writers about it and adding bonuses for the delay. Although your scamming technique surely sounds admirable, we would like to state that the procedure of processing clients' files and securing the completed orders page minimize the chances for that.

Writerbay creates a lot of hype around the PRO writer status promising new budding writers of bigger incentives if the status is raised to PRO status. However, in reality, PRO writers are given least priority when awarding a project because they are expensive. Writerbay always prefers low cost writers who can provide papers at cheap price even with compromised quality and hence, they need PRO writers only when it comes to impressing a new client or else invariably a project is awarded to a low cost writer. The quality issue is just a hype and nothing else, but what irks me most is when the low cost writers goof up a project and the project is then forced onto the PRO writers for saving the face of the organization and satisfying the supremely dissatisfied client.
The hype created about PRO writers to be assigned projects without waiting or as soon as they apply is not true either. In reality, only 1 in 100 projects gets assigned to a PRO writer as soon as he or she applies.
Finally, it always amuses me that in the list of top 10 earning writers showcased on the site, not a single writer has PRO writer status, which again shows Writerbay's preference for low cost writers rather than quality assuring PRO writers. It seems that the quality assurance department is more focused on cost minimization efforts than ensuring quality.

I've been a writer for writerbay for two years. It is a great way to make money even in slower seasons work is available. I enjoy learning new things and improving on my writing. I have learned with time to stay in control. I don't accept orders unless I have all the information I need to do the paper. If you pick up a paper and the client doesn't give you information on it, you are still responsible and if you try to get out of doing the paper because of it, you can be fined. I've had clients not even respond to my request for documents and the order stayed in clarification pending days after the deadline then the client finally responds with a one word response without the needed documents and the clock starts ticking in the middle of the night. I pick up one order at a time and pace myself. Clients change deadlines when you are already working on other deadlines. I can't say I recommend depending on them full-time because it can get frustrating. You are an on call writer (24-7). It doesn't matter what you are doing or if you are away from your computer. If the client or staff don't approve an extension on a revision you will lose money that you earned. I think it's unfair just because the pay is very low already. Clients can be really rude and it's not addressed by Writerbay. I just feel there is a low regard for the writers. It's no fun getting revision requests due in an hour when you are at the grocery store on a paper you turned in two weeks ago.
My advice to writers is to stay in control and make the best of the opportunity by focusing on quality over quantity. Be careful about picking up so many papers at once to make more money. You can overlook papers that don't have the information you need or clients that don't respond that make the opportunity more stressful.

They are ok. You will get paid for your work if it is good. But I'm writing this review because I've just had it!
They assign you to urgent orders with the minimum salary without even adjusting it for the urgency. You change your schedule try to think how to move things around so that you can help them out. But they refuse to increase your salary the amount you want and instead of offering what they can - they just reassign you. Don't worry that you've been on edge for the last half hour racing to the computer to HELP THEM, nooo. They don't care. Those nerves are on you.
Oh and they make promises during high season and don't follow through when the low season comes. So next time they promise you something, make sure you follow up write away or they'll just screw you over.
Don't get me started on the automatic fines they have. So a client sends the order for revision in the middle of the night, you don't hear the email ping because you are obviously sleeping and get find. In the morning, it turns out that another day IS available but to reimburse the fine, you have to wait till the order is approved. And then you have to REMEMBER to ask for it SEVERAL TIMES in both chat/ message/help desk to actually get them to reimburse the fine.
And just keep a close eye on your payment statistics. It may turn up with fines you don't even get informed about. And they might even reimburse them and/or give you bonuses, but you also won't be informed about.
Just screw them.
Oh and for a joke. They have orders with negative deadlines available even during low season (check the image). Cause you know, you are expected to complete them 2 hours before you are even assigned the order and for a mere $5.75 which is actually a bigger salary then many other writers get.
Tip for consumers:
Don't trust them. Always double check everything and follow up right away.

As far as the urgent orders are concerned, we can assure you that we always try to increase the salary as much as we can in each particular case in order to meet both client’s and writer’s expectations from the order. However, there are cases when there is no way we can increase the price, so we are forced to reassign the writer and look for a new one asap as the order is an urgent one.
As for the fines, that is true that we have a system of auto fines and and you may find all the information about them in our Fines Policy. If you find any of the fines (both automatically and manually imposed) unreasonable, please leave your request at the Help Desk and we will process it as soon as the order gets approved. So, there will be no need to contact us several times. Furthemore, we want to inform you that the orders with the red (negative) deadlines are the ones where we are still waiting for the extension from the client. We cannot extend the deadline without client’s confirmation; that is why, from time to time we have such projects hanging in our system in order for our writers to check them and let us know whether they can complete any of them and how much time they will need for it. Btw, we would like to remind you that sharing the screenshots or photos of your control panel or the 'Available orders' page to the third parties is strictly forbidden by our Privacy Policy (https://www.writerbay.com/privacy-policy.html). I have been a freelance academic writer for Writer Bay since December 2012, or almost 7 years now. So far, this freelance writing organization has been one of the most reputable and reliable online writing services, so far. Support provides immediate response for inquiries and clarifications, and had been very prompt in resolving issues pertinent to writing. The challenging issues that were encountered included payment issues where my salary has been sent late or problems with payment methods (I changed payment methods thrice already) were not immediately resolved since they could not provide assistance in tracing the status of my payment. In addition, with the recent mandatory audits being conducted, I honestly contest being given a demotion (from PRO status to PRO light) on the basis of non-compliance with the required 100 quality pages per month. I believe a demotion in status is derogatory since the demotion considered the number of pages without taking into account that there are different orders of varying complexity depending on academic levels. There are pages that are easy to write and others are fairly difficult, especially entailing application of theories learned from my graduate degree course. I have been writing consistently for WriterBay for almost 7 years with 1933 approved orders. And then you demote me for writing below the 100 orders per month which is supposedly a requirement to sustain my PRO status. It is my conviction that I earned the PRO status for delivering quality orders consistently through the years. Demoting my status to lower PRO light is actually demotivating and demeaning. It is not an effective manner to say I have to strive harder to reach the same status in the future. I hope you will reconsider this auditing practice and the number of pages written should not solely be a main consideration for adjusting the status up or downwards. Quality should precede quantity. Wow, I would just like to say that customer service is really polite, for the most part, although I don't really trust much of what they say. You have to really watch all of the people in this company, though, because they try to get you when your guard is down. The entire staff goes in and changes things on your order so they can make more money off of you, like lowering your per page rate in the middle of an order. They claim it's a mistake, but when you see the name of someone who you know has it in for you in the company as the person who did it, it makes you doubt their claims. It's not like they go out of their way to check over their adjustments to see if they made a mistake. If you don't catch it, then they keep the money. Not the most horrible I've worked for, but just be careful. They are not the most trustworthy either.
UPDATE! The rep from the company is simply full of crap. This did happen, it does happen, and it will happen. This company is a foreign company, and they have no care for treating their writers well, at all, ever. This is my experience with Writerbay, and if they don't like the fact that I called them out on it, it's really just too bad. They had tried to steal money from me like this on a number of occasions. It was so bad, I had to start taking screenshots of the contracts I took on so that I had proof that someone went in there and changed the pay, and I went to management every single time. You can take your response and stick it you-know-where, because it doesn't help solve anything, it's completely and utterly useless, and it only shows how guilty you really are. Because of your ignorant response, I changed my vote to a one star because your company and everyone in it is utterly useless.

Please be informed that we never lower the price of the order after a writer has confirmed it. There is only one situation when it can be done:
For example, the client has initially ordered 6 pages, but then he said that he needs only 3 pages. For sure, the writer’s salary will be decreased, but he will work less as well. What is more, there is one more situation, when the money can be taken off your balance: the client has sent the paper for revision after approval. But after he approves the revised version, you will be fully compensated.
Betty, you are absolutely right regarding the part that our Support Agents not always notice some mistakes with the payments. Let me inform you that some actions can be done in the system without notifying Support. When such situations happen, you are more than welcome to inform us about this and everything will be fixed immediately. I used to think Writer Bay was alright; far from the best, but just alright. However, one recent experience has made me think twice about. One time I turned in a two page paper that was a simple one with three sources required. After sending in the simple paper, I kept getting revision after revision for small things that I was not even told about. The first included putting in some kind of a research question, which I was never told to do in the first place. Then it was putting the research question in bold at the top of the paper. Then it was fixing my sources when they were not wrong in the first place. And there was even a revision where I was told to write a separate paper list all sources and explaining why I chose each source in detail.
After I turned that paper in, I got another revision a few hours later saying I needed to add complex and in depth concepts to the paper. I did that and turned in the paper. Then at 3:00 a.m. in the morning, I got another revision saying I need to mention the complex concepts again. It was fed up and told the client that I am not doing another revision since everyone in the paper is done. They backed off, but a week later, I got another revision request saying I needed to create a separate paper strongly saying what each paragraph was about in my previous paper. This is slavery. Stay away from this site at all costs. On top of that, you can get revisions at the worst times. I do not recommend turning in a paper and then going out somewhere for a few hours to have a good time. Several times I have done that, and when I check my emails on my phone, I get a revision message from Writer Bay. This website has turned into slavery, and I recommend you stay away.
