"We're not making enough money on ads, wat do? Split the single page out into multiple tabs!" Used to use this site several times a day, will be looking for a replacement now.
Once the premier website for weather aficionados, now a vast wasteland of advertising and unnecessary updates. It is sad to watch an old friend die a slow, agonizing, self-inflicted death.
Most of the old functions, while still having available tabs, do not work, i. E. next day weather, 10 day forecast, alternate locations etc. Was a very helpful site and is now useless.
They ruined it even more, no landscape mode on iPad, no webcams, information I don't need and quick useful info. Gone, another case of stupid smart people.
Can no longer depend on anything they have for the west coast, period! Very disappointed, it used to be a a good alternative weather site. I wish they would just give up, instead of having bad data.
Whomever thought the changes on you app would be appealing to your users did not do their homework. We want quick and easy. We're not all "weather geeks". Don't make me go back to weather.com!
Hey I'm guessing you helped coke-a-cola roll out the "new coke" as well
Captured a great site and trashed it with big biz tweaks
IBM begets "think" well "think again"
We will/do not forget, bye bye!
What a terrible redesign it's pretty much useless now. Thankfully I never did an upgrade on my phone so the old format still appears. So I guess I'll keep it until that doesn't work anymore.
Apparently new format changes make the app so slow it's virtually worthless. I am using Mac OS 10. 12. 6 on a new machine. No excuse. Works well on my IPhone however.
Ruined.
Weather.com, "powered by IBM" obviously worked out a deal where IBM would destroy their competition and thereby help weather.com maintain its monopoly.
`Much like the rest of the web it's caved in completely to the dummy phone people. That's why they take away features as it's harder on phone people to scroll thru that not knowing what this or that does. On a phone you have limited screen estate and a lot of people it uses up minutes fast if they scroll thru these 'cool' options so no it's not at all profitable in their minds. That's why they still survive as they get 'unique' clicks and pay Google to be at top. Google is in BIG BIG trouble for their monopolies. Google forced the web to this dumb design back in 2011 when they purchased Watson AI and got rid of their human algorithms. Other search engines soon did the same. Such an ASININE choice.
LIBERALS do not know how to run a business except to the ground which is why we are in the retail crisis. The original founders either died or retired so the kids took it over then they handed it to board of directors that all went to Harvard never running a business in their life. Payless was one of the first.
They did As Seen on TV pills in all their pharmacy sections because it worked in Marin California where it's ultra left shortly afterwards Payless.inc went into debt and declared chapter 11. Sears bought Kmart which both were failing due to bad management. You don't buy a sick business while being sick yourself.
All these companies got propped up during the Obama era to keep going despite being failed. The props are now gone with different sets of people in charge. Google had an office next to Obama.
Severe storm and the radar map was not even close to real time. Links don't work. Navigation on site id frustrating at best.
I will not purchase anything advertised on Weather Underground!
After 3 years my station went offline. No way to raise the attention of their support. I used the data in my PV array monitoring system, they left me cold feet.
I was a huge wunderground user before the Weather Channel bought them. It's obvious to me that they ruined wunderground so that people would turn to their weather dot com website.
I have an 8th generation i7 with 32gb of memory on gig fiber service with a commercial router. I'm not running any browser extensions. I've tried Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on Windows 10. I've also tried Safari on an i5 imac.
Just awful.
I agree with all the recent reviews. Used to be my go-to site for weather; now looking for something else -- could at least have left an option for 'classic view'.
Terrible redesign in 2020 makes it very difficult to actually understand the weather for the day and upcoming week. Why try to improve something that was already working so well?
In a way I guess I have it calibrated: yesterday was supposed to be 82, was 95. Today same prediction, is 90. Consistently wrong, always too low by 5-10 degrees. I'm looking for a better site
This must be some kind of ploy to get people to use the Weather app instead. Underground was amazing until December 2019 and now it's a pile of garbage.
Other reviewers have said it all. The new app sucks. The old one was terrific. Please fix this app. I'm looking for something better but not having much luck.
The current temperature doesn't even show up for any place I choose. As others have reported, it is extremely annoying that you can no longer see that, the forecast for the next few days, and an hourly rundown for one of those days, in chart or graph form, ON THE SAME PAGE. That was what made WU so much better than the Weather Channel. And now the tabs that switch to the other views don't even WORK most of the time.
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
