I used to love Weather Underground. Unfortunately, the new website is an unusable, irritating, maddeningly slow mess. I hate everything about it. Please bring back the old site.
My 7 year old could have done a better job. From bad to worse, you cant get any better than that!. I for one don't share my data anymore who don't take it seriously.
I used to depend on WU for my weather forecasts but every time the UI is changed the quality of the forecast goes down. I suggest you return to the classi UI and spend the savings on improving the quality of the forecast to where it was a few years ago.
I HAVE WRITTEN SEVERAL SUPPORT TICKETS TO WEATHER UNDERGROUND FOR ISSUES INSTALLING MY WEB CAM TO THEIR SITE. IT HAS BEEN WEEKS NOW WITH NO RESPONSE. I'M EVEN A PAID MEMBER (FOR OVER 10 YEARS NOW). SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED OVER THERE. TERRIBLE!
What did everyone think when TWC bought Underground Weather. The TWC is in the business of drama and money.
Media mogul Byron Allen acquired the television network from its owners, The Blackstone Group, Bain Capital and Comcast/NBCUniversal.
Weather.com, Weather Underground and its Weather Channel app were acquired by IBM's The WeatherCompany division in January 2016.
These two groups purchased the competition to ensure they get the lions share of the market.
This is the same behavior going on through out the world. Big money buys small and eliminates the competition. Then the consumer can be sold less for more.
There was a time when I subscribed to Wunderground. Then - along comes The Weather Channel to gobble them up and it goes from "Great to Good" and then from "Good to Useless!"
Not only did I unsubscribe and now there is NO WAY to resubscribe, but the account was locked out with no way to use the remaining "subscription!"
Additionally, using the NEXRAD in any web browser -- it is now impossible to zoom in on an area of interested without it taking the zoom to the wrong place.
Wunderground is now officially useless. Adios! And... thank you Weather Channel for mucking up another of the best things in weather. First the channel itself and now the apps and web-pages. GREAT JOB! NOT!
I keep trying to change locations right back to where I don't reside any longer, must be some idiot that upgraded the web site. Forget renewal. I tried for a negative star
Weather Underground used to be my go-to weather app. I legit never even consulted other apps or even the news because it was awesome and gave me all the info I could ever need. The new version is HORRIBLE, though, and I need them to ditch it before I have to delete it and go in search of something else. Bring back the awesome, super user-friendly version - PLEASE!
The station setting on the new program does not stay constant also be rapidfire is not working, the location nearest to me is Jerry West Stree and 30th St., Station the program will not stay on that station it likes to change to another station. The rapidfire is supposed to update periodically and is not working. The older program work just fine and from my point of view if it ain't broke don't fix. My recommendation is not to use this program on tell all problems are fixed.
Totally worthless. Actually, less than worthless because I paid money for this and it doesn't work at all. Shame on the people that operate this site.
INTELLICAST WAS PERFECT.
The thing they have now is utterly atrocious. It crashes regularly, it's ugly, stupid,, convoluted. I can't fathom why people insist on these glossy, ugly, dysfunctional new designs at the expense of things that have worked just fine. INTELLICAST IS NOT OBSOLETE! IT SHOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THOSE OF US, MANY MANY OF US, THAT FOUND IT TO BE A USEFUL PART OF OUR DAILY LIVES.
What's the point of visiting anymore? I cannot get more than an hours worth of data at a time. I can go stand outside and see what the weather is doing without an app thanks. Waste.
We're in the middle of the worst snow storms in history, and it won't save my closest station. Jumps to cities 30 and 90 miles away. I'm done. Bring back Intellicast!
The much-hyped "Redesign" is a NIGHTMARE! I have to click on three different things now to view what I used to see in ONE glance! Weather Underground's site has become as useless as The Weather Channel's!
If ANYONE from Weather Underground reads this: PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!
The new radar is horrible. Stops at 6:45 pm, for one thing, how can that be called 'current.' The old format for all of US and for local interactive were about perfect. New formats useless.
Really disappointed. After submitting my PWS data for many years, I noticed the dumbed down my PWS page with a 'console' view that only shows 5 minute updates. Gone is real-time rapid fire updates. Gone is the Scientific Forecast Discussion link. Gone is almanac data from nearest METAR and historical data. The Contact US link is never replied to.
Used WU prior to it going dark (2019?) and loved it. Recently discovered it's back up and it's better than ever! Spot on for Eagle, tiny town in SE WI.
This site has done such an incredibly embarrassing job of cutting the balls out of a truly great Weather Site. Intellicast has great Radars. Where are they? What happened to the Flint, MI radars, Caribou, ME radars and others? What happened to the Interactive Radars and the Storm Radars, and the very valuable 1km Radars? The stuff that remains is dumbed down for the hoi polloi, and the rest just GONE! Navigation on what's left is not at all intuitive -- some brainless fart did the coding for that. WU has made an absolute travesty of this with no improvement for three months.
Used to be good now it's Unusable. Why did they have to screw it up don't fix it if it's not broken there was some update now it says IBM on the bottom and it just keeps shutting off I uninstall it then reinstall it wait a couple weeks try to do it again the same thing just turn it on and then it shuts off, it is Hell
It doesn't load timely. Probably due to advertisements. I think weather channel was lobbying defunding US weather service so they could make more money...
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
