Weather underground is worse than useless. The 10 day forcast works maybe 5% of the time. Why in the world did they get to subsume Intellicast, which has been my favorite for years?!?
Since being gobbled up by TWC, WU has become useless. Simply, the once top-notch UI is dying of neglect.
Complaints fall on deaf ears. TWC would rather we settle for their second-rate, spoon-fed pablum instead of detailed weather information. Radar is all but useless, the click/drag to zoom feature having nothing to do with an area you'd like to examine, the 10-day forecast's customizations sometimes working, sometimes not. As of this writing, the feature has completely crashed. A new feature in the past 24 is that temps now randomly display as F or C, showing in my current feed at 85C (meaning, it's apparently Armageddon this morning... and I expect Jim Cantore to show up any minute).
Complaints might elicit an auto-response, but it means nothing. No one's home.
If TWC thinks this will encourage me to use their pablum-fed, second-rate site, the suits, as usual, are wrong. At least permit Wunderground a dignified death and pull the site.
Basically freaked the F out the other day with no access to Intellicast. SHAME ON YOU for trusting your I. T. team and letting them release this garbage without at least a in-tandem user tryout. UGH!
I bet they blame all these bad reviews on "User Issues"
Anyway until you get your heads out of your A**... we will all be at this other site... which used to be my goto before intellicast. It's run by NOAA and NWS. And no ads!
WOOHOOO!
www.weather.gov
*very user friendly and customizable
*fast updates
*you can pan left and right
*you can zoom in and out! Duhhh
And that's just after 2mins of my trying it
Hope this gives your users some comfort
I've used Weather Underground as my Homepage before they even had subscriptions.
Everything I needed to know for taking my early morning walk was on the opening screen. I need to see the windchill, dew point, humidity and especially the 10 day forecast where I get to select what's important to me - cloud cover, humidity, chance of precipitation and wind speed. At a glance, I could plan activities for the next few days deciding which day is a good beach day, or boating day or just stay home day, etc. The 10 day tab doesn't even load on Firefox anymore. Also missing is the Marine Forecast link which I used to see the boating and beach conditions. I'm sure many surfers also used this link to check out the wave height and wind conditions on the water. Listen Weather Underground, BRING BACK THE OLD FORMAT.
I have been an avid Wunderground fan for over a decade but now it is a useless app and website that needs to be deleted. Ads load but no weather... who knew that greed trumps real data?
Over 10 years ago, long-time Cincinnati Reds WLW broadcaster Marty Brennaman (in the face of an impending hit/miss cell) sang the praises of Intellicast and we've relied on it ever since... that is, until this brutal screwjob. At present (south central Ohio) it's 17degrees with tomorrows high locally predicted to be 2 degrees and the "current" WU radar is showing rainfall - as it's locked-up@ 6:45 PM last night (1/28/19). Tell me, why is it that so many of my go-to sites seem to wind up irremediably reduced to non-counter intuitive, non-performing BS and there never seems to be a suitable replacement (e.g., Mapquest, VPIKE). All of the fast, cool Intellicast features are nowhere to be seen; none of the data is remotely close to anything current; WU is insultingly stupid! It is beyond astounding what motivates certain idiots...
For the last several months I have been having lots of issues with what used to be my favorite weather app. I subscribe to it, as well as the premium version for my laptop. As time moves forward, both are becoming less and less functional, to the point where at least 50% of the time my droid app tells me to "Please try again
Later" or just crashes outright.
As I started surfing the web to see if anyone else is having similar problems,... wow... how enlightening to see the same remarks over and over and over
Again. For example: https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/wunderground.com
I found 2 more review sites mapping the same issues. Seems that since
IBM and/or The Weather Channel bought out WU there has been what appears
To be a concerted effort to reduce functionality and reliability in order to push users into Weather.com content. If that is the goal, it seems quite successful and at the same time, sad, to destroy what was a GREAT Application.
I come from an industry which uses the same tactics on it's competition: buy them out, particularly if they have a better product, then simply eliminate them (laying everyone off and selling off any assets). No more competition. So much for the myth: The better product wins. Not in THIS world anymore.
I shall let my subscriptions lapse and relieve WU of any further obligations to present a better product.

I have used intellicast for 20 years, and relied on it to show very accurate radar, and forecasts. Now, we only have garbage. Congratulations on ruining a great thing.
Weather underground is terrible. Almost impossible to navigate and is not accurate. I deleted it from my list of favorites where it has been forever when it was Intellicast.
About 4 years ago, Wundermaps would move quickly and had so many features such as tornadoes and STORM TRACKS. But today, it just has way too many ads, slow loading, lag, and not as many features as before. Although Wunderground is OK, it's still not the same as before. Overall, use something like AccuWeather or any other weather website.
Forecasts are completely unreliable since the sale was completed in the fall of 2017 to China. Website support is completely gone, and personal weather stations are no longer supported.
The team who created lookr.com is going to build an improved WU alternative that works smoothly - if you want us to. But this requires resources. So we are asking weather enthusiasts - like you - out there, if they would be willing to pay a small price for such a satisfying service.
We are not weather enthusiasts ourselves. But we love webcams. And we have a genuine interest in providing a satisfying service for our users. Now, and in the future. Below you see two sample screenshots of how our new service might look like:
Update:
We have two experienced weather enthusiasts on board in this project to make sure we will go into the right direction. And of course, we will stay in touch through your feedback on how to improve and develop what actually makes sense. For example, we already got feedback that it would be enough to update every 5 seconds for rapid fire, since most weather stations won't be able to update every second (as suggested by our survey before).
Please let us know in this survey, if you are interested in such an improved WU alternative. Thank you.

Latest updates to this site are hideous. Cosmetic/aesthetic changes can be annoying, but these people have simply destroyed the functionality of their site. Ask it for weather from a specific location and you'll get results for somewhere else. Ask it for information from an "official" weather reporting point and you're likely to get data from someone's backyard $100 weather station. Ask it for official National Weather Service forecasts and you'll get a wildly inaccurate forecast their computer dreamed up. People have been complaining about this for weeks, yet their only acknowledgment of changes revolves around updates made in April. Emails to them have gone unanswered. As a paying member for over 15 years they are more than disappointing. They've lost me as a paying member.
UPDATE: As of October Weather Underground has completely removed NWS data from their site. No more forecasts, no graphs, nothing. The option for NWS or WU "Best Forecast" has even been removed from the user settings. The initial front page only gives you today's and tomorrow's weather (using the strangest selection of locations that are usually not related to anything approaching "official") with the 10-day forecast being vague and unusable.
From all appearance the old, reliable, useful, and trustworthy Weather Underground is gone. All of that former glory has been replaced by a poorly planned, poorly executed site that appears to have been designed by the pre-k division from Fisher-Price.
The best recommendation I have is to get used to nws.noaa.com and find other sources for radar data.
If you're reading this WU, please go back to intellicast interface. Was much more user friendly. WU is clunky, glitchy, and after trying for a week am giving up and looking for another service.
Has been my go to weather app for years, then in December 2019 they overhaulef it and now its just complete trash. I finally gave up and removed it, so sad to see a company implode it's best product.
Worst timing ever! Not only would the map no longer display on my phone, even accessed via the browser on my computer, it was frozen. When it really counts, go directly to NOAA.
You were the best. The display with the expandable 10 day forecast was fast and easy. I suspect you have a plant from the competition designing your site. Any chance of going back?
I used to get an entire forecast for today and 10 days on the initial page. Now it takes 3 clicks. They must be trying to increase the visit clicks for ad revenue...
Not much to say increased clutter, bad functionality, poor displays. What else to explain of the IBM touch. I am adding a few characters to see if I can get it to display.
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
