They keep cancelling payments. My boss has to call them constantly to tell them to pay me my money. It gets frustrating and annoying like he has been paying me for a year. Is it not common sense to know its not working?

“Unspeakable customer service”

I contacted Xoom to ask why my transfer had not gone through although the money had been deducted from my. Bank account. Note that this transfer was identical to transfers I have made each month for years. After more than two hours on the phone with various supervisors I was told that it might take up to 4 days before it could be confirmed whether or not there was a problem and only then could corrective action be taken. The complete lack of courtesy and unwillingness to help have convinced me to close m y Xoom account.

Xoom was recommended to my friend Bill as a quick and easy way to transfer emergency funds to relatives in a different country. Since Bill has a little less experience with computer stuff than I do, he asked me to help him get the transfer set up. After talking with a service rep by phone, Bill put together an email with the information requested, including some scanned images of various documents, like his personal ID card, and sent it to Xoom. The following day, Xoom replied with a "Got it; you're good to go!" email, and Bill submitted his transfer request.

Then the fun began. Another Xoom email, a day later, indicated that the transaction had been cancelled because "the required documentation was not received in time." This led to some increasingly irate telephone discussions between Bill and various Xoom service reps until a "manager" was brought to the phone: the manager explained that the document in question was the I.D. of the RECIPIENT of the cash Suppressing the urge to yell "Well, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THIS BEFORE?," he agreed to get THAT document as well. He then told me that a close friend of his had been using XOOM for more than a year to transfer money to relatives in that same country, and had never been asked to provide the recipient's ID.

At this point, it occurred to me to look up some reviews of Xoom on SiteJabber and other websites: most of the customer reviews that I looked at were quite negative, and focused on the point that "service is terrible, and these people don't seem to know what they are doing."

One might expect that a company in the money-transfer business would develop standard procedures for sender and recipient, for each country in their network. One might also expect that they would also offer a checklist of the information and documentation required (from both sender and recipient), by country, AT THEIR WEBSITE, rather than providing this information on-the-fly, by phone.

Bill has decided to do his money transfers via Western Union.

Xoom money transfer I'd rediculous on a whole different level. I've had a transaction done since Tuesday even till now I cannot receive my funds. After waiting hour to talk to someone. They had no information to give me. Only could tell me there having technical problems. ( Duh! I think I figured that out on my own) question is what did they do to fix it nothing. Customer service is past horrible. I got hung up on by a supervisor for asking about my money that I have worked hard for. Your agents are rude, very uninformed on the business as a whole. I have had several problems with Xoom/paypal. Why won't this company do the right thing. They have done an update to the system and now everything is messed up. Xoom stole my money and I want it now. Not when they decide to give it back. They are the worst. Im currently looking at other ways. I wish I could some how effect you guys stock, the. You would make your business better. What if your stock came crashing down by misfortune. Because you guys sure run it like abpenny stock company. Why do I have to talk to someone who doesn't know a thing about transferring money. Most of theses agents that pick up are so dumb and unhelpful, I doubt most of them have a highschool diploma. I'm tired of this. You people outsource the work to 3rd world countries to payless and still are garbage. Jamaica is a big outsource for big companies trying to pay people less, and it shows in your company. The reason why h guys have business is because western union is double garbage and money gram even worse trash. I would like my money and zoo. To stop holding on to my funds. I will be doing wire transfer from now on. I rather pay the extra at least I know my money won't be held captive without any answers. This is bad. You guys are just giving me the run around because you guys system is failing you guys... XOOM I WANT MY MONEY... XOOM I WANT MY MONEY... CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS... HORRIBLE BUSINESS... OPERATES LIKE A BACKDOOR BUSINESS.

Tip for consumers:
Use at own risk. Business is -10 if you ask me. I hate talking to people that do t understand there own business.ude wire transfer if you can.xoom are crooks
