“I'm surprised to see bad reviews about zavvi”

I'm surprised to see bad reviews about zavvi. I have ordered games many times and always received them within a few days, never had any problem. I live close to england where I think this company is founded. The games are about 25%-50% cheaper than in my country (netherlands), even the brand new ones.

These guys must make most of their money on the delivery fees because the delivery takes twice as long as they estimate yet they charge like they've hired a private jet to hand it to you

Last Christmas I bought two products.
A sweatshirt and a ZBOX. The sweatshirt is completely different from the image on the site, so I ask for a refund. After 3 months they tell me they have done it but they do not have a receipt nor a PayPal refund ID. They ask me to prove that I have not received a refund, so I send the screens where there is no credit from them and they reply: "ok, the technical department confirms that your refund has been made but we have no proof".
Absurd. I work for an e-commerce and I know for sure that at every refund there is a confirmation from PayPal.
By the way, the ZBOX since December 2016 has never been sent to me, I asked a couple of weeks ago to cancel the order and refund, never received this either.
A very bad customer care and shameful assistance. I will never buy from Zavvi again.

I ordered a PS4 for my son for Christmas and when he opened it it didn't work... my son was really upset and now I have sent this back and sent them confirmation of this and waiting for my refund for postage and for the PS4 so I can go elsewhere to get him another one! I am appalled from the service and still have not heard from them and there is no contact number!
I will never buy from this company again! Such disgusting service!

This company are a joke. PLEASE READ AND DO NOT USE THEM. I placed an order for 2 items of clothing on 9th December for Christmas. First, the order said that one item was not in stock, after saying it was, so the order was split. Neither item turned up, after both were confirmed as shipped.

The customer service is pointless, you WILL wait days for a response, and the response will not be followed up and will be from a different person every time. Plus, every time you message them and they reply they close the message thread as complete. In total, I've sent over 30 messages just trying to get 2 items. After 2 months the latest response was, 'our team are looking into you're query and will respond soon, thank you for your patience.' 2 MONTHS!

No contact number, no follow ups and no idea.

They have some great products and I'm glad for all you that got them, but I've never had such poor service.

DO NOT USE... EVER!

WHAT'S GOING ON? BOTH OF THE DVD ISN'T PLAYING!.

I will never buy ANYTHING from them again.
I paid a lot money ALMOST $200 for 2 DVD! One for me and one for my kids... for what? Blank dvd? Really!

Turned out I have to buy a DVD player that player in the state where I live which cost a lot more because the DVD won't play anywhere else beside U. K! o. O?
They could've at least let me know smh... but they didn't. Scam!

Furthermore, as a polite notice these DVDs can be played in the US if the DVD player is a multi-regional DVD player.

I purchased a Lego from savvy and it never came they sent me the tracking from the shipper and it stated that it was delivered at my front door on such and such a date and it never was I have cameras here that showed no one was here on that date I also live in a gated community and they cannot get in without calling me do not deal with savvy they are con artist they're liars and they need to be shut down

Pre-Order items months in advance just to be told they've cancelled my order months after the release of said item do yourself a favor and buy things elsewhere.

Pre-Order nothing from this site it's an entire waste of time and money.

Ordered PES18, estimated time was 5 days, waited 20+ days still no delivery, now they are telling me to send the order back after I canceled it when I never even received it in the first place. Basically they said the order should arrive OCT 7. Sent the email that I want to cancel the order, and somehow magically order is now waiting in my post? Scammed by a popular shop, well that's something to keep in mind that you don't like canceling orders. But do you realise that people wait for orders extra time and still don't receive them because of your bad customer service? And yes I still haven't received the refund.

Seriously I ordered a game for my dad as a surprise (months ago now) and customer service is TERRIBLE! The game NEVER showed up, said it was delivered somewhere FAR from the address I'd filled in at checkout, and they are NOT ANSWERING ME or REFUNDING MY ITEM. They'd had me jumping through hoops and their excuse is that they have to wait for the delivery team to tell them what happened?! A month and a half ago? During a pandemic?! This business is AWFUL and I want my money back! Don't waste yours!

The guys at Zavvi need a geography lesson. I shipped my order to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (SA), and my order has not arrived for over a month. I contacted them and they did send me replacements right away. Around two months later, half of my original order and half of my replacement arrived. I read the label and discovered the issue... the were sent to Jeddah SOUTH AFRICA (which is abbreviated ZA not SA). So my Blu-rays have traveled all the way to South Africa before arriving to me. I also ended up with duplicated Blu rays and missing ones. I didn't even bother contacting them again. I'll simply NOT order from them again.

BTW. On their website, my address clearly stated SAUDI ARABIA and not just SA, so there shouldn't be ANY confusion at all!

Pre-ordered Yakuza Kiwami PS4 in April and the game wasn't in stock by the time it was released world wide, because apparently it was "sold out". Even Zavvi's competitors had the game in stock before the game's official release date, resulting the game wasn't dispatch on release.

I was informed to wait for a week or 2 for the game to be dispatch. Seriously, people pre-ordered this months ago and you guys ended up having no stock of the game by the time it came out.

The one star is for your effort of replying to my messages. Other than that, you guys need to get your act together!

Took my money few days into December, my money is now locked in, no refund possible through their site, customer service a farce, lies, still no despatch few days before xmas, hit them with PayPal case guys, they do say they can no longer help once PayPal case is open, blackmail cause dont care about customers, any care about money, they not helpful anyway, worst company ever

Ordered on the 3rd of December so I would receive things in time for Christmas. After a week still said they were processing. When I tried to get a refund WITHIN the 14 day period on their website said they couldn't and would only give me a refund on one item only because they had sold out. After numerous messages finally said it would be shipped within the next few days. Finally on the 22nd of December the 2 items were shipped. Finally received them on the 10th of January. I contacted fair trade whim said They are a UK run company therefore they can't assist- do not order from. When asked to write a review said I would ensure everyone knew they were a scam site. Did receive an email to write feedback. It was not positive and their website has a slavery policy at the bottom. BIG RED FLAG.

Tip for consumers:
NEVER USE THIS SITE! So many terrible reviews. Take it as a warning sign

Ordered a lego set for dad's birthday and paid next day delivery because the website said this would be fine. Next day no parcel, so I spoke to Zavvi and was told the item would be with me within 3-5 days. This wasn't what I paid for and the reason for next day was I wouldn't be at home to recieve it and the birthday was fast approaching. I then asked for a change of address and was told no I would have to be there to get it. The customer service is terrible even when I escalated it to a complaint they still don't cair. I will never use Zavvi again and hope anyone reading this won't either they are a joke

Saw a you-tube video of someone saying they used the site, and I
Was going to order something but after seeing reviews-Not a chance.
I went ahead and bought from WalMart and paid a bit more.
1 star average in over 126 reviews.
IF IT LOOKS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE(slightly lower prices)-IT PROBABLY IS!

I pre-ordered Assassin's Creed Unity Bastille edition for my PlayStation 4 along with the Phantom Blade collectors item, after waiting a few days for a reply I was told it was out of stock, so why let people continue to pre-order knowing that they won't have enough stock? It's been over a month and all I keep getting from them are sorry emails, I'm still waiting for my order...

Do not order anything from them. They are selling stuff they don't have. Was waiting 2 months for my order, finally cancelled it as they were unable to tell me when will the package be available.

I pre-ordered the Cartman POP in December. So it comes to the release date (February) and I still don't have it. I check my order and it says the product is out of stock... I contact support and they say "Yep, that product is out of stock." I reply saying I pre-ordered the item months ago, surely I wouldn't be able to pre-order a product if you knew there wouldn't be enough stock? Do you know when it will be back in stock? Zavvis reply "We don't know".

Avoid this company.

Im taking legal action against this company after they havent refunded me £235.00 for a item i returned they said they needed to do this via paypal which i provided and 3 and half weeks later still nothing. When i message all they tell me now is customer relations are dealing with it and they cant help. Theft of customers refunds something dodgy going on here stay clear of this company

11 days and still no sign of my advent, I received one 9 days after I ordered, still waiting for the other, so 8 days of my kids asking why the elves haven't brought them an advent calendar, I keep getting fobbed off, and told I have been messaged via some made up online messaging system, I can't find. DON'T ORDER FROM HERE, YOU WON'T GET YOUR THINGS IN TIME FOR XMAS.

Bad sellers, should not be in business and customer service is non existent, stay away and shop around. You will find it very hard to find a good review about this seller and they trade under another name with the hope of disguising their bad service, remember HUT LTD AND ZAVVI ARE SAME COMPANY if you dont want to lose money, stay away

I would NOT recommend buying from them. It took 15 days for my order to arrive. They clearly lied about dispatching it immediately. They were too f*** lazy and dispatched it a week late. Not to mention their customer service staff are pathetic. Taking between 2-3 days just to reply. They weren't helpful at all and only interested in covering their own backs. USELESS AND PATHETIC. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.

Been buying from zavvi for years mostly for the steelbooks but have bought other items aswell. Every time i have had to contact them though it has been nothing but trouble. Purchased the marvellous zbox that comes with age of ultron back in may and only just realised that it says in my account i ordered 2 and that both were dispatched. I only recieved 1 so i emailed them. Got a response saying they are looking into it and they will get back to me in 24 to 48 hours. Heard nothing after 3 days so messaged them, got a reply the day after and got told it had been cancelled cause it was sold out? I recieved no email or notification to tell me otherwise. According to my account both had been sent out. Have had other incidents with customer service aswell but this was the last straw. If it wasn't for their steelbooks i reckon this company would have went downhill long ago. The steelbooks are the only reason i bought from here but i will be looking elsewhere from now on

Ordered 5 items in one order from Zavvi. A few days later, the first of five emails arrives, telling me that one of the items has been dispatched. Over the next few days, a similar email arrives for the other items. Weeks later, no items have arrived. No response from Customer Support - just automated replies.
Looking online, it seems this is a very common thing with Zavvi. They simply don't sent your items! How are they still operating?
Have filed a Paypal claim to get the money back. Complete time-wasters.

UPDATE:
This is unbelievable. Zavvi has now removed my account from their site – I can no longer log in, check my order, contact them via my account page, etc. However, they took the time to respond to my Paypal claim. Paypal asked them for delivery detail information. For each item they replied "cannot provide details". So, rather than simply refunding me, they took the time to delay the case with zero helpful information. And to delete my account? Can this really be the actions of a major company? Trading Standards needs to investigate all these issues people are having with this "company".

Ordered fathers day present on the 2nd of june, only dispatched on the 15th! When i asked hows this gong to be here on the 17th the day its for fathers day as advertised the customer service couldnt give a hoot and just repeat a scripted message not even reading my question. Not my 1st problem with zavvi i just forgot as it was years ago. STAY CLEAR USELESS

Zavvi is an entertainment retail chain in the United Kingdom and Ireland, originally Virgin Megastores. Zavvi was formed in September 2007 when a management buy-out team purchased the company from Richard Branson's Virgin Group.

It was the UK's largest independent entertainment retailer before being placed in administration on 24 December 2008.[4] Store closures took place from January 2009, with the last to cease trading on 20 February. HMV purchased 19 Zavvi stores to be merged into the HMV chain. Former managing director Simon Douglas and business partner Les Whitfield purchased five of the stores to form Head Entertainment,[5] all of which eventually closed in early 2009 after less than a year of opening.[6] On 2 March 2009, The Hut Group relaunched the Zavvi website.
