I've used Zenmarket about like 6 times and i've gotta say they are pretty straight forward with the payment systems and the 300 yen fee.The only real downside is often they just deduct the shipping within japan(from the seller to the warehouse) with out any real confirmation... like its not a huge deal but often sellers on yahoo auctions give this vague estimate for how much it'll be. So i recommend adding about $5-$15 extra when you wanna purchase an item via yahoo auctions japan just to be safe ( they do have the net of credit if u don't really care so that's really nice)
The price shown on the website is not final, you have to calculate the shipping cost using their misleading shipping cost table and end up paying almost double the item's value (50€ item and 80€+ shipping). Also, since they don't mark book orders as books or editorial mail, you might have to pay an extra fee to retrieve it from customs. (Extra 25€-60€ where I'm from, books aren't held in customs). After you've made your purchase they will hold your order hostage until you've payed all their absurd and miscalculated fees and deny you a refund if you don't agree with their request.
It takes weeks before you have your order ready to be shipped to you and they charge high fees
I will never use their service again

I bought an artbook and figures that I wanted for a long time, everything went smoothly, they arrived in less than a month and without any problems!
They keep adding fees in order to be send out it's packages. Many times they make mistakes. They are not Japanese.
Always reliable! Whole buying to shipping process was very efficient and smooth. Items are packaged with great care. Thank you zenmarket. :)
To make a long story short I ordered a limited edition lottery item priced at about 700usd for my birthday and it ended up being declared lost
Fine not the fault of zen market at all
The problem is how they are going about handling my refund
I called the shipping company to ask if zenmarket had taken the steps yet to open up a claim for my already declared lost package and they informed me that there was nothing generated on their end for my package and that I should urge the shipper to start the process so I could receive my refund as it's supposedly not too long of a process
So I did exactly what they told me
And when I did zenmarket gave me attitude about how I had been informed that nothing was generated yet and a date they supposedly started it but completely ignored that I asked for a case number or some sort of something showing the process has actually been started after being told directly from the shipping company that there was nothing generated for my tracking number
The package being lost is absolutely not their fault but I'm realizing that the customer service isn't that great
It's been months and that's a decent chunk of money to just loose especially for something that can't be purchased again I just want to know for sure I'll get my money back but at this point I'm feeling like they're just gonna string me along and hold the other small packages I have with them hostage
Especially after reading reviews of others with lost packages and experiencing the customer service attitude myself
100% not using this service again after this mostly because the customer service is leaving a bad taste in my mouth
I've used many different proxy's and never seen customer service anything like this
Just the lack of information and communication about the issue on their end in combination with attitude
I'll pass
Tip for consumers:
Japonica market is an excellent service with excellent customer service for the few times things go wrong I’d recommend using them instead
