After one of my meals arrived damaged and opened, Kenny was able to quickly verify via photo and issue a refund immediately. This was extremely helpful and painless for me. It's nice to know that Freshly Support is easy to work with and makes me feel comfortable reaching out again in the future if there are any additional issues.
I've tried 2 of the 6 meals I ordered. Frankly, I'm thinking of throwing out the other 4. They are edible, but that's about it. They come already prepared, but Frozen Trader Joe's meals are much better by a factor of 1000! If you don't mind cooking Every Plate is leagues above these for half the cost.

I received the wrong set of meals today, a first in more than 2.5 years of service. I contacted the on-line chat in the support menu, which responded immediately and put me through to "a human" (that made me laugh). They simply asked that I take a photo and I received a full refund immediately. I spoke specifically with someone named August, who was very professional, apologetic, and worked quickly, something I always appreciate. I love this meal delivery service- the food is incredibly well made, delicious and healthy (I have lost 18 pounds eating well, though that was not the intended purpose of my subscription- I am fully satiated after eating a perfectly well balanced meal, I just add a piece of fruit). I have been pleased at the increasing variety, and I haven't had one meal I didn't like (a lot). That's saying quite a bit for nearly 3 years with an expanding menu. Keep doing what you're doing, Freshly!

Hi Diana, thanks so much for your review! I deeply apologize for the experience you had but it's such a relief knowing that Ausgust got things right for you! Definitely worth a 5-star rating! Thank you for the excellent review and for being the best part of the Freshly fam!

Hello Aleya, thank you so much for sharing your valuable feedback with us! I'm saddened to hear that our meals weren't able to leave a great impression on you. Our goal is to provide delicious and quality meals to our customers, and I'm disappointed that this hasn't been the case for you. However, I appreciate you sharing this with us! We're always looking to improve our meals so I'll be sending you a private message to gather more feedback and suggestions on how we can improve. Thanks again for taking the time to review us!
My order was delayed in shipping. In addition to meeting me know by email what was going on, they credited my account for a meal. When it arrived late enough to be warm and unfit to eat, I contacted customer service. Josh was prompt and friendly, refunding my meals, and an additional credit. The only thing that would make it better is getting replacement meals sent.

Hi Cora! Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We're so ecstatic to hear Nhonie was able to give you gracious and efficient customer service. We hope we continue to impress you!
I just want to say THANK YOU for providing so many gluten free recipes that are absolutely delicious. I'm allergic to gluten and most meal delivery kits have really gross GF meals. I'm so incredibly grateful for this company! My husband and I will be using them for a long time!
I love how seamless the meal picking process is—the app makes it easy! The meals are super fast, portion controlled, and healthy!

Hi Carrie! Thank you so much for your kind words and outstanding review! We sound like a perfect fit! I'd be happy to share your wonderful compliments with our chefs, and we hope to continue to impress you!
When you're getting fresh food delivered to you every week, having good customer service is key. Freshly excels in that area. Whenever I've had even the slightest problem, CS has been proactive and responsive. I love that. The food is good and helps me eliminate thinking about what to do for lunch when working from home which is nice too. Can't say enough good things about Freshly!

Oh, Patrick, you are so sweet to heap some Freshly love upon us, and I appreciate it. As you've personally witnessed, we're here for our Freshly family members and do our best to always assist when called upon. I want to thank you again for your kind words today!
I had snap kitchen and unfortunately they quit delivering to my zip code. So I tried freshly. Literally awful, food tastes like canned, re-warmed, or boiled, tasteless food. I cancelled after one delivery. We didn't even want to eat the meals we paid for and received, that's how bad they are.

Hi Shannon! I'm sad to hear that you didn't fully enjoy your Freshly meals, do know that this isn't the experience we're going for. On the other hand, I appreciate you being honest and telling us about it so I'll be sure to forward your feedback to the team as this will really help us in improving our meals. I'd love to hear more about your experience with us, if you'd like feel free to reach out to us at SocialSupport@freshly.com -- we'll keep an eye on your email!
You don't want to eat this, it isn't fresh at all. It tastes like it's a year old and frozen for a year. There's so much packaging that you just throw away. It's awful seeing the waste they give back to Mother Earth.
Date of experience: December 1, 2021
Shreya, I do appreciate your honest review but am disappointed you did not enjoy your meals. I will be sure to share your feedback on the meals with our chefs, and will also express your concerns on the recycling of our package. You should know practically 100% of our packaging can be recycled. I will also follow up with you via private message to see how may be of further assistance. Thank you.
Some of the meals were pretty good. Some of them were really salty. No wonder--they run between 30%-60% of sodium daily allotment, which is just too high to be considered healthy at all. The body is an electrical system and sodium and potassium balances are crucial to heart health, over time and on a daily basis. Eating one Freshly meal a day mandates reducing sodium greatly in anything else you might consume on the same day. I am willing to bet those who designed this menu could reduce the sodium and sort out another way to keep the flavor up. At home, I use lemon or a salt-free seasoning mix like Spike. It's not that hard. Also, the cholesterol was surprisingly high in some foods, even things made with chicken, kale and white beans. That should be a low-cholesterol meal.
Date of experience: September 18, 2016
We do add a bit of sea salt to taste, but otherwise the sodium is from what is naturally occurring in the ingredients. Because we do not alter it, we've received feedback that the sodium seems higher than normal. It's largely from seasonings and marinades that we use.
If you're concerned about it for health reasons, research has shown that naturally occurring sodium isn’t necessarily bad for you. It’s the sodium that comes from chemical preservatives and the like that is harmful (one reason we don’t use chemical preservatives).:-) A good piece to check out, which explains it more detail, can be found at this link:
http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2013/02/why-does-salt-raise-blood-pressure/
Keep in mind that high cholesterol has not been proven to be directly linked to heart issues. Only about 50% of heart attack victims have high cholesterol and of those who have high cholesterol about 50% do not have any heart disease. A better indication of heart disease is chronic inflammation. Chronic inflammation puts you at twice the risk of dying from cardiovascular problems as those with high cholesterol.
A great link for more information is http://www.drsinatra.com/the-great-cholesterol-myth/
Of course we understand that there is a LOT of varying research and we always recommend that anyone with health concerns speak to their doctor!:-)
I have mixed feelings about your preparations. About half range from Meh to almost delicious, but they are all too skimpy on the protein portions. As a result, I have often found myself having two in one night, which completely knocks the affordability (compared to restaurant-delivered) off the charts. In chat I have suggested you increase the protein portion size by 15% with a commensurate bump in cost, and call that tier of larger meals your "Hearty" or "Premium" choices. They would still sit in the same trays and sleeves. I would definitely go for an adequate single meal costing me $12 than two smaller meals that cost me $20+. As it sits now, after next week I will be ending my subscription.

Hi there, Gregory. Thank you for sharing this with us, I'm terribly sorry to hear you're not fully satisfied with the meals' portions. The meals are currently 12 to 15 oz per meal (13.6 oz on average). I'll be sure to pass your thoughts and suggestions along to our kitchen. Our menu is 100% customer inspired and driven, using ratings and suggestions from our customers.
If there's more feedback you'd like to share, or anything I can assist with, make sure to connect with me over at SocialSupport@Freshly.com!
First portions don't look anything like pictured. Much smaller. Second. Tasteless. Had my first meal today. Citrus Kissed Orange Chicken. It is now about 5 hours later and I'm laying here with stomach pains. I have 5 more meals and don't know if I want to chance eating them.
I've already cancelled. Don't like being taken advantage of! Oh and I can't find anywhere where it says ‘satisfaction guaranteed'. Wonder why? I'll stick with doing my own grocery shopping and getting fresh food. The inconvenience is no longer an issue!

Hello Marlene, thank you so much for your honest feedback. We're very sad to hear that your experience with our meals and service was less than ideal. Please know that this is never our intention especially that this was your first order from us. I'd love to make things right for you! Please send us an email at SocialSupport@Freshly.com so we can report this to our Quality Assurance Team!
Signed up initially under a United Mileage Plus promotion (1600 miles rewards) that was back in January. Now some 8 deliveries later they say I do not qualify. Have cancelled my membership. You know the food was good at the start, but got really messy when the Lock Down hit. Very poor quality. There are so many other companies that I will try.
Date of experience: May 11, 2020
Hello Mark, I'm so sorry for any troubles though I can confirm we followed up via email in regards to United's mileage program. You received your first 4 orders of 4 meals at the promotional price of $34.99. Furthermore, our team made sure the account was approved so that you could receive your miles. Please be sure to connect with United directly for any updates on the status of your miles.
My sincerest apologies again, but I'll be reaching out in a private message to see if there's anything further I can do to assist.
This food is a larger portion serving of airplane food-terrible. We took delivery on Tuesday and have already cancelled. Rubbery omelettes, undercooked proteins, overcooked/rubbery veggies, and oh, by the way, you receive the food frozen. The food is packaged in heavy duty styrofoam packing with ice packs and the food itself is in plastic TV dinner trays they need to be microwaved (the plastic wrap on top of the TV dinner tray is nearly impossible to take off. You need scissors. Do yourself a favor and get some healthy TV dinners from whole foods if you're looking for convenience, or get a higher priced but higher value meal plan. Freshly, according to their customer service reps, uses factory farmed meats and conventional veggies and produce, so you're not doing yourself any favors by eating this: you're just eating less because the food is really not appetizing at all,

We're very sorry to hear that your meals arrived frozen! They definitely should not have arrived in that condition. If you have not already reached out to the Customer Experience team via email for a reimbursement, please reply to the private message I sent you a few days ago. We will be happy to resolve this for you!
Commercials show appetizing, large portions, fresh-looking vegetables and happy diners. NOT! In reality, the potions are small as well as the sauces. The beef tastes like shoe letter. It's not that the meals are just tasteless but they actually taste so bad that I had to stop eating after a couple of bites. I threw out a weeks worth of food. Never again. Any food would be better than this. I now even have to resist gagging when I write about it!

Hi Susan! Thank you for providing us with your experience! We're extremely sorry to hear that the meals weren't enjoyed. Currently, the meals are portioned to be between 12-15 ounces, averaging 13.6 ounces, however, we'll be sure to pass this along as feedback to our chefs, as we're always striving to improve as we continue to grow! I'll be following up via private message to see how I can make this right!
Overall I think me meals are pretty good. I've been trying to make the calories fit into my WW points but they all seem to be to high in calorie, sugar, sodium and saturated fats. I would suggest more low carb, low calorie options for those with dietary restrictions.

Got my first order and I gotta say I'm very disappointed. Everything we've had so far has been bland, tasteless and not very good. You could get similar tasting meals by Marie Calendars for less than half the price, and without the need for a weekly plan.

Thank you for your feedback, Derek. I'm so sorry to hear, of course, that you didn't care for the meals! I can assure you that as we continue to grow we are working to better our meals.
We were given a gift voucher on Freshly, which we used up. Cost is too high to keep going, so we cancelled. When you cancel on their website, they instantly e-mail that your subscription is re-activated. I e-mailed their customer service (Alexander) and asked for a cancellation which he confirmed. But no - it's auto-reactivated and the next customer service rep (Will) can't do a thing about it. This time I blocked them in Paypal. Freshly is a fraud.
The chef isn't crying in their apron about the cancellation. They're busy fraudulently reactivating accounts.

So I was in a very bad accident 5 months ago, stove some friends out of kindness, bought a gift card for my family and I to freshly. Redeeming the gift card automatically enrolled me in a recurring pay program, not only did I not want this, when I called customer service they told me that is how it's all set up. Buyer beware, I'm out $125 but I learned

Hello Christian, thank you for sharing your experience with us through this review. I'm sad to hear about the troubles you had with our gift card process. Since we're a weekly subscription service by nature, it'll automatically create a subscription when you redeem a gift card. No worries, if you only want to receive the one week of meals gifted, simply cancel the subscription after your first order has shipped. Moreover, your feedback matters to us so I'll be sure to share this with our team. In the meantime, I'll also be reaching out to you in a private message to see if there's more that I can assist you with.
The food is very bland and lacks flavor. Also very high in sodium. We tried it as a gift for an elderly person and within 2 days of delivery and before he could try the food they charged my account for another order which we didn't want. The manager said too bad so sad you can't cancel. I will never order from them again and I will tell everyone I know. Hope it was worth it freshly. Shame on you!

Hi Tammy! We're sorry to hear of any confusion with the nature of our service -While we're a subscription we do offer the option to skip weeks or cancel at any time. We're sad we weren't a match but truly appreciate you giving us a try. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to connect with our team by email at Support@Freshly.com or call/text us at 1-844-373-7459!
I order four meals (minimum) through their initial sign-up offer. For the past few weeks I have tried Blue Apron and Plated and been happy with both - and thought that Freshly would be a fine alternative when time is short! What I got was four small meals in plastic trays that I could have picked up at the grocery store for a third of the cost. Each meal was loaded in saturated fat, trans-fat and sodium - and the taste was no great shakes. I immediately cancelled my subscription.

Thank you for your feedback, Jeffrey. I'm so sorry to hear, of course, that you didn't care for the meals! We are a paleo-inspired diet that utilizes healthy fats (think eggs, coconut oil, avocado oil) for numerous health benefits while avoiding the scary, detrimental ones (think french fries, pizza).
Although our meals do arrive in BPA and chemical free plastic containers, we do provide directions to heat the meals on a plate, or in an oven!
The food is great (IF you receive it on your scheduled delivery date or one day late). My last several orders have been 3 to 5 days late (no longer edible). Freshly acts like this is unusual yet it keeps happening. I'm sure the delivery varies depending on where you live. But it has been very disappointing for me.

Hi there, John. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, I'm terribly sorry to hear of any trouble receiving your meals. Being a meal delivery service built partly for convenience, we're disappointed we weren't able to fulfill your orders in a timely manner.
I'll be sure to share your thoughts on our meals, and concerns with delivery, over to our team. I'd also like to see how I can help, so please don't hesitate to connect with me over at SocialSupport@Freshly.com!
I had thought this new trend of meals delivered to the house might be a great idea. I started with the 9 meal pack at $50. I have only eaten two of these 9 meals. They taste awful. I tried the Jerk Chicken and the Chicken Livorno and they were both way over-spiced with just a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad taste. For the price of $10 or $11 each you would do much better buying from the frozen Dept of your local grocery store at 1/3 the price and way better taste. I can't believe how horrible these tasted. The other 7 are going into the garbage when I get home from work tonight.

Hi Jane! We're so sorry for your unhappiness! We are in contact with you now to try and resolve things for you. We appreciate any and all feedback and truly care about the quality of our meals.
I was optimistic that this would be an alternative to eating out for lunch every day. I was horribly mistaken. The portions are super small and the protein tasted cheaper than an all you can eat buffet. Do not make the same mistake.

We thank you for your feedback, Stephen! Of course, we're very sorry to hear that you didn't care for the meals, but we appreciate you trying out our service.
If you did not receive a discounted price on your first order, please reach out to us at support@freshly.com or 844-FRESHLY (Mon-Fri 8am-4pm PST).
The meals are awful. They all have a strange taste and it is not freshness. Their customers service is not helpful at all. After my first order came on schedule, and I accidentally missed the cut off to cancel for the next, the second week was 2 days late and they tried to tell me the meals would still be good! Sure I'm going to eat 9 questionable meals in 2 days, since that's how long the expiration is good for now. Crazy! Horrible food and customer relations!

So sorry for any confusion, Misti--when you emailed your meals were going to be 1 day late, not 2. The notification email you receive tells the shipment day, rather than delivery day. Since your meals were scheduled to arrive Wednesday and were only in transit 1 day at that time, you had that additional day buffer. So if they had actually arrived on Thursday they would still be safe, since they were just 1 day late & our packaging is tested to be safe for that amount of time.
However, when your meals did not actually arrive on Thursday either, I see that we refunded your entire charge for that second order. I'm glad it was taken care of for you!
Food was salty and not very good. We tried 6 meals and then had a hell of a time getting the to stop service. They do not answer their phone, chat worked after we got past the robot. I had no intention of signing up for repeated weeks, just wanted to try it out, and feel that they were deceptive in their instructions/information.
