on 5/18/16They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
I would not use it. Better to reserve thru the hotel directly. I used them and thought I was getting a good deal but in actuality paid more than hotel was offering at the time.
Do not use this site! You will end up paying more with hidden fees, etc. despite the fact that the actual price of the room looks to be lower.
They are scammers. While they may be able to find a cheap room, the fine print and sheer aggravation if plans change make this a site to steer clear of; too many better sites out there
Definitely don't go there!
This company has given me more stress than any other agency I have ever dealt with. They conveniently do not record the conversation when you cancel within the given time do they can charge you. They so far have refused to refund me my payment Is it a scam? That decision is up to you. All I can suggest is that you give real thought to using this company. Apparently customer service doesn't mean anything nor does making things right to the customer. There are many other agencies that are happy to work with you and treat you with respect so choose wisely.
I finally got reimbursed when I went through BBB. All I can say is beware!
A legit scam, yes. I booked a room online through this site and my credit card was immediately charged $198.00. That was fine except for the fact that the hotel had no record of this payment. So... upon check-out I had to pay again. To add insult to injury, the hotel's price to me was only $154.00... for the same reservation. This means not only did getaroom.com steal my $198.00, they added $44 extra in fees. Tell your friends. Do not use this site!
Got to hotel, no reservation. Had to book and pay directly at the hotel. Fees were far more than 30%, far more than the 6% the hotel charged. Website was set up to look like Wyndam. My wife was reluctant to enter our charge card. Should have followed her intuition. I've never had a problem with Booking.com like with this company.
They are legit, but if anything goes wrong with your reservation, or during your hotel stay, that's where your nightmare will begin. The hotel will have you resolve reservation issues or refunds through get a room. If the difference in savings is 50 or less, I would book through the hotel directly, you will also get a better room through the hotel. I hope this answers your question.

Deal with hotel directly. Very tough to cancel and get your money back with this company.
I believe so. They are a lying, scamming booking agency that doesn't work directly with any hotel. They charge about 25% over the actual cost of the room. They get away with it because they actually make the reservation. But everything else is a fraud!
Total fraud and scam. Write ti BBB, I did. Do not reserve with them under any circumstance or one of the many names they operate under. Reserve directiy with the hitel or one of the legit travel sites
Hi Joyner s,
All I can do is be open and honest about my experience with this company, they were first class with me, I received excellent service and value for money, this is a genuine answer from me, the hotel, room and cost in the English lake district was wonderful.
I have red some reports about this company and they are not particularly glowing, however, I have no complaints whatsoever.
Kind regards,
Tony H, England uk
I did have a good experience
