on 1/9/16They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
A 3rd Party website booking service that: (1) charges excessive fees on top of the quoted room rate, that are also not disclosed to the consumer until after you make a reservation; (2) has a no cancellation policy; (3) uses hotel chain logos (sometimes for the wrong hotel) that make you feel that you are on the hotel chain website rather than the GetaRoom website.
I thought I was booking a room directly with a hotel. AFTER I hit submit with my credit card information, it came up almost double the amount. I IMMEDIATELY cancelled, but they are refusing to refund the amount. My credit card company said they are smart and are fighting every single dispute like mine. Just filed a complaint with the BBB and Federal Trade Commission. ANYONE in the same boat please do the same to get them shut down and save the next person!
Charge is from: CCI*Hotel Res 800-468-3578 TX. They also show up as getaroom.com.

Report them to the Better Business Bureau. This company is clearly a scam and if the BBB receives enough complaints, they will investigate.
Horrible - it looked like I was booking throught the hotel website and they charged an additional $103.95 on my CC for one night stay.
I BOOKED A ROOM AT COMFORT INN NORTHYORK, TORONTO CANADA, AND THEY SENT ME A BOOKING CONFIRMATION, AND DEDUCTED 713.58 USD IMMEDIATELY.
ON THE CONFIRMATION, THEY STATED THAT IT WILL BE PROCESSED IN TX US, BY CCI HOTEL RES.ON GETTING TO THE HOTEL, HE WAS DECLINED ENTRY, SO WAS MADE TO PAY IN CASH.
I FILLED A CHARGE BACK, BUT THE IDIOTS CLAIMED IT WAS A NO SHOW FROM MY CLIENT.
SO I SENT ALL MY CORRESPONDENCES WITH THE COMFORT INN HOTEL TO MY BANK FOR DISPUTE CHARGE RESOLUTION.
I AM YET TO RECEIVE MY FUNDS.
AM SCARED I MAY HAVE BEEN SCAMMED.
THE US GOVERNMENT MUST NOT ALLOW THIS ANIMALS TO CONTINUE TO OPERATE.
KINDLY ADVICE ME WHICH WAY TO GO.
Fraud. Misleading third party agents for hotel bookings which charge you a huge amount of tax

This is à U.S. Business and we have to join ourselves in a collective pursuit in U.S. Criminal Court of Justice...
Reporting to Business Bureau means nothing for them...

I've never heard of them. That link asks for a login. I have no login with them. Their telephone number never connects to a person.
I booked a room in Toronto through them well in advance (via another website) and then after reading all the negative reviews, called the hotel just to confirm my reservation. They assured me that the reservation went through. I was really surprised and upset that Get A Room had immediately charged my card for the entire amount. Just because of that and all the negative remarks, I doubt I will make reservations through them ever again, even though once we arrived we had a room and no problems.
