on 10/29/15If you use care and caution it's safe. Women are subjected to more weirdos but you can block them. Spammers are going to get through and they will usually ask for your email or phone number. If someone interests you message a lot before you meet and always meet in a public place. If someone insists on more than you're comfortable with move on.
No and No (as Louise H. Says). If you want to be ultra-cautious, cut and paste a personal statement into Google, hit return and see if they're catfishing. Eastern European women (or men) seemed to be baiting me during my brief time on the site. I'm glad I deleted my profile.
Lara S. Is wrong, OKCupid does police scammers very heavily, more so than any other site that I have been on! Plus, if you pay attention to the match %ages, it is very hard for a scammer to produce a high %age with any one person, much less the mass of people that they would have to fake %ages with in order to happen upon a high %age with any one person...!
No and no
Safe? How safe is the internet? Anyone can get any info you have at any time. Be cautious, meet only in public, and I used the buddy system, met a guy for coffee for 30 minutes then had a gal pal meet me at same place for a bite to eat when his 30 min were up. You pick where to meet, someplace you are comfy with. Don't back down on that! Safety is YOUR responsibility when meeting. As far as the sites go... Full of scammers and they are not well regulated at all. Even when a scammer is reported it does NO good at all because they are not removed.
