Well, as you all know, I have written about Intuit QuickBooks before. On July 9th, I scheduled a conference with Scott Cohen. The purpose of this meeting was to spend an hour of my time helping them to improve their customer service. Unfortunately, I realize now why that may never be a reality.
After the meeting, Scott sent me an email thanking me for my participation and promising a $100 gift card as compensation. Today is July 26th, and I have yet to receive the promised compensation. I called the company, but they had no idea what was happening. I also sent several emails to Scott and received no response. I even went as far as sending Scott a message on his LinkedIn page to see if he was legitimate.
It seems that Intuit QuickBooks has proven to me what happens when a company becomes a cash cow and truly doesn't care about its customers. It's unfortunate because we, the customers, are the ones who keep them in business, and in return, they don't care about us.
I am now looking for alternative ways to do business. I have tried Wave, but their customer service is similar to Intuit's. If anyone has any suggestions for software to help with accounting and invoicing, please let me know. I want to distance myself from dishonest companies that don't value their customers. I refuse to invest any more money into Intuit QuickBooks.
Recently switched from peachtree after using it for 17 years. Great experience using some of the apps that connect with QBO such as Bill.com, Tsheets, and Tax1099.com. I am loving the way day flows between these systems and I can fully comply with the data using Tax1099 for my year-end efiling for the contractors.
I just closed my QuickBooks online account after using it for 3 hours. The system is positively riddled with bugs. You cannot unsubscribe from marketing emails, it throws up a generic "try again later" error. You cannot update company profile, it throws up an error that all fields are required even though I did carefully fill out all the fields. One form I tried to fill out had a field for State that said "please provide your phone number". And so on and so forth. I don't know how anyone can trust them to handle your financial information!
To add insult to injury, I tried to resolve these issues through Customer Support and it was an absolute nightmare. First I spent two and a half hours (!) chatting with an agent online and it was basically like talking to a bot, just repeating the same stock phrases, have you tried a different browser, have you tried clearing your cookies, etc. Next I spent 20 minutes on the phone where for every bug I reported I was told it was for my security and other nonsense. The reps were just unbelievably unhelpful and told me repeatedly that they are not authorized to open an actual support ticket or escalate any issue. Which means, effectively, that QuickBooks Online does not offer customer support, at all.
Please find yourself another company and save yourself years of head aches! They literal have not way of reaching them. If you want to use the product anyway, then use desktop version.
