“Luxury Redefined with Airbnb Luxe”

SOUMYA RANJAN B.

My experience with Airbnb Luxe was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into my luxurious villa, I was greeted with unparalleled comfort and elegance. Every detail, from the stunning architecture to the impeccable interior design, was thoughtfully curated to create a truly unforgettable experience. The amenities, from private pools to personal chefs, exceeded my expectations and made me feel like royalty. Moreover, the concierge service was exceptional, catering to my every need and ensuring a seamless stay from start to finish. Airbnb Luxe has redefined luxury travel for me, and I can't wait to indulge in another unforgettable experience.

“Worst Experience Ever!”

Amanda N.
8/31/24

Airbnb has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. No support when things go wrong. I didn't feel safe at a place I rented and check in or stay there. They will not refund the full amount. Was promised a $300 refund, then only give $200. The reservation costed $423. I will never book through them again! This has been a nightmare!

We booked a vacation at Lynn Mass near Salem. Our first time using Airbnb. When we got there the actual home was nothing like the photos. My husband and I immediately called Airbnb and the host and told them we would not be staying there as we did not feel safe and the unit was not as listed. Numerous messages back and forth all week and then 6 days into the vacation we were finally told we had to cancel the reservation online ourselves in order to get any money back. I did as told and was only given a $50 refund for a $950 stay. You would think Airbnb would have told us this the first day when we called to tell them we were cancelling and would not be staying there. Airbnb is only concerned with the hosts... not the guests. I asked repeatedly for this to be given to a supervisor and it never was. A total SCAM!

Here's a video of a bedbug in an airbnb rental in June 2015:
https://youtu.be/-c_IxoUlPTE
Warning: Yuck alert.
Airbnb help found alternative lodging for the night but left me stranded in New York with nowhere to stay for a week. Bed bugs, it turns out, are very common at airbnb rentals due to high guest turnover and lack of professional cleaning.

From the friendly greeting by Raymond, the property manager, the welcome basket with fresh coffee, tea, sunscreen and tequila to the quality bedding and towels, these were all ingredients essential to making our stay a memorable one... for all the right reasons!

Airbnb is making a point to support the domestic terrorist group that recently looted, burned down my city, and destroyed many of my client's businesses. I'm a big believer in "black lives matter"- but #BlackLivesMatter has proven to be a destructive domestic terror group.

As an Airbnb host, Airbnb completely let me down! When I rented my home to a customer, I never expected to come back home to a deserted party house. It was very obvious that the woman who stayed there over the weekend threw a party that got out of hand.We submitted pictures and invoices to Airbnb letting them know the damages and proof of what we paid in repairs. Airbnb declined to hold the woman accountable and/or help us to corer any of the costs themselves, with no explanation why. Since then, i've decided that the risk of allowing strangers to stay in my home is too risky when the company who is supposed to protect your home doesn't do the right thing. I encourage everyone to steer clear of Airbnb and find another source to rent out your home.

I had an issue with a payment on AirBnB because after I sent it in, my company had to change credit cards due to fraud. Airbnb would not respond to my requests for help. From my experience, their customer service is horrible.

It always feels like Airbnb is trying to sell you something. The headline prices don't include the service fees and cleaning fees. And the customer service they provide is all about minimize the effort they have to provide. Rented a really dirty house that looked clean in the photos. Airbnb doesn't offer any useful recourse.

Tip for consumers:
VRBO often is better. I'd use it instead.

A conference we were attending was cancelled due to Covid 19. The conference was mid June, right after the covid policy of Airbnb expires. I called to find out if we could cancel given our circumstances and I was told yes and the service person walked me through how to do it online. The full cancellation and full refund showed online after that process. Come to find out that a week later Airbnb reduced the full refund to take a service fee of over 300 dollars. Despite many calls and email exchanges to ask them to go back to that initial conversation, the managers never called me back and just hid behind the policy sending emails saying because we cancelled outside the policy we would not get refunded. I see unfortunately many of those same comments on this site. I will as a result cancel my account with them.

Tip for consumers:
Do not make reservations during the Covid pandemic. Beware!!!!

There was a Fake Listing of my grandparents property. Someone took the liberty to list it on AIRBNB and its not even their property. Our local County office cited them with an unlawful rental violation. We got the inspector to dismiss the charges after he inspected the property and urged us to file a complaint with AIRBNB. Initially the response was acceptable as they removed the listing. However it came back online. Again requested it to be removed. But it came back again and again. The last check it was the exact same listing but now not under my grandparents property but another a few miles away. I feel this is irresponsible of AIRBNB to allow this to continue to keep happening with the same listing over and over again.

I put my house on AirBnB. One of the first bookings I had was for a family of 4 visiting to have a quiet weekend. I was not able to meet the guest when he checked in and left a key. This person threw a massive college keg party/crawfish broil for 100+ guests according to neighbors. There was close to $2000 worth of damage from a $700 booking. I opened a case with Airbnb's resolution center, submitted the invoices and was reimbursed $300 out of the $1000 security deposit. I have been trying to call Airbnb and speak to a supervisor for over a week and cannot get anyone to return my call.

Airbnb's website is user friendly and has all the functionalities both hosts and guests could wish for. It does a better job than its rivals like Wimdu or Roomorama. It's not perfect yet, but it's the best in its category.

Terrible experience. My wife made a reservation for a month in advance and canceled it two days later. They would not refund all of my money. My daughter used them on a separate trip and the rental was cockroach infested.

People keep getting their account banned randomly and now they provide no explanation because they make the mistake so often. I hadn't even booked a room yet-had the account for 24 hours to look at places and was already banned

I reserved a house only to discover beforehand that the host had not been honest about the property. When I pointed this out and tried to cancel. This host became beligerant and over the next 10 or so messages, her insults escalated. When I involved airbnb resolutions in the dispute. I initially had my doubts. But ultimately they took a loss and refunded me. Have to be impressed by this customer service I so often do not receive.

I was going to take a plunge and use Airbnb for a trip March 2016 to Los Angeles and then I realized that Airbnb charges your card now for a trip 5 months from now and does NOT pay the host until 24 hours after you check in. There is a limited cancellation... leaving one with money on you credit card for months maybe while Airbnb collects interest on that money. It's a scam... NO hotel charges your card months in advance unless it's a package deal with cancellation policies in place that make sense. I ashcanned the plan to use them... Home Away is better... and just booked a great hotel, same price and they DONT charge your card unless and until you don't show up. No airbnb for me. NO wonder they ae worth $10 billion... with the money they have sitting there in their accounts... boo...

Pathetic response from customer service. Not helpful at all. Host cancelled my reservation last minute due to issues with his. These issues have been going on for long but he didn't inform me. I had to chase him to get a response. Airbnb was not helpful at all. Neither did they compensate me. Their service charges are also too high. I will never use Airbnb again. I have seen that many of the properties listed on Airbnb are listed on other sites too and they don't charge service fees; they charge the host. Best to search the Internet for other sites and enjoy the experience.

Tip for consumers:
Go to other sites on the Internet, you will find better accommodation at cheaper rates. The service fee is very high

I recently booked 26 days stay at Airbnb location in Kolkata. They indeed robbed me of over 3500 in local currency. The host offered me a rate and Airbnb arbitrarily charged more and paid less to host. They in turn robbed the amount that is due to me. I will never ever will recommend or book again.

Unhappy with AirBNB. Recently made a reservation using AirBNB Gift Cards and my credit card for the remaining balance of the charges. The reservation was processed incorrectly and the entire charge was posted to my credit card. Have been working with 4 different AirBNB customer service representatives for three weeks now trying to get this resolved. Now they say that it has been too long since I made the reservation for them to correct the problem. Are you kidding me. They say that at least I still have a credit (gift cards) on my account that I can use for a future stay. My future stay will certainly be the last time I ever do business with AirBNB. Feeling angry.

I reserved an apartment in Chicago in which the host tried to charge more afterwards and would not respond to my texts and emails. I tried to contact Airbnb customer service twice, to no avail, so I cancelled the reservation within the first 24 hours. Unfortunately, I was still out the $71 Airbnb fee.
It turned out to be an expensive lesson.
The host turned out to have a bad history with Airbnb back a couple of years, but the listing I was viewing showed he was a member since only June 2016.
Never again. I'll stick to hotels in the future.

To have any kind of issue with this platform is something you want to avoid at all costs. In two weeks nobody, and I mean NOBODY has been able to help me to retrieve my account. The closest I got to get any kind of assistance were two emails with a message I could read... Only by login in to the account I was asking for help to retrieve. I have been redirected to at least 4 customer care agents and who knows how many bots so far... and counting. All of them claming to be very "caring" and "really concerned about my problem"... Only to make me follow useless guidelines over and over again or forcing me to log in to the account I am asking for help to retrieve to get said help.

In a way, I am glad this happened before I had the opportunity to book anything with them—based on my experience so far, this is the kind of company one never wants to turn to for assistance.

I hosted on airbnb for the first time.
The guest already stayed for 2 weeks and checked out but I still did not receive my payment.
I contacted them all they told me is to wait, wait and wait because of the one who wrote the payout for me misspelled my name so my bank could not accept it and already sent back.
So neglected, laziness stupidness of that person.
No apology.
Nothing.
Just wait wait wait.
Trust me no good on this website

Never use airbnb ever again.

Reservation was made months ago, relatives drove in, flew in and the day before we were all to meet at the rented house, we were told it would not be available for the day we had booked. Some alternatives were provided nowhere near where we wanted to stay, no where near the price we had already paid, no where near the number of rooms required. After this experience, we will never ever consider renting from any of the "homes for rent" websites. Now we have to even wait 5 days for our money to be refunded when all that is needed is to apply a credit to the card and why that takes 5 days to do that I can't fathom.

It seems that the calendar is not up to date on the rentals. Each request for booking takes 24-48 hours to approve. In the meantime, other places with good prices are getting booked up while i am waiting for the approval. I applied for 2 places that got declined. I lost 2 days of my time. It's good that i still have time before my trip, but what if i had shorter timelines? So i went to Booking.com instead and booked a hotel which was half the price and much much better quality and location than some of the places i have seen on AirBnB... Why choose AirBnB if i can get much better service from booking.com? Not swayed...

They will give you the run around when it comes to refunds! I have been trying to get my $486 refund which they claim to have processed in November 2018! I've yet to receive the money and when I call I cannot speak to the department handling my issue as they only respond to their online chat support. Really?!

This is easily the worst run company in the United States of America they do not answer the phone for property owners property management companies or what day now call "hosts."

The guests are treated like gold. The hosts are their peasants.

Vrbo is head and shoulders better company for property owners

Airbnb routinely rips off hoats as well as they take all the money and hold all the cards.

Want a free stay on airbnb?
Book the most expensive home you can find Stay the night.

The next day plant a cockroach. Take several photos of it. Call airbnb and demand a refuns. You'll get one as a "guest" and the "host" will get zero compensation.

Not made up. Company is a joke.
