My experience with Airbnb Luxe was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into my luxurious villa, I was greeted with unparalleled comfort and elegance. Every detail, from the stunning architecture to the impeccable interior design, was thoughtfully curated to create a truly unforgettable experience. The amenities, from private pools to personal chefs, exceeded my expectations and made me feel like royalty. Moreover, the concierge service was exceptional, catering to my every need and ensuring a seamless stay from start to finish. Airbnb Luxe has redefined luxury travel for me, and I can't wait to indulge in another unforgettable experience.
Airbnb has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. No support when things go wrong. I didn't feel safe at a place I rented and check in or stay there. They will not refund the full amount. Was promised a $300 refund, then only give $200. The reservation costed $423. I will never book through them again! This has been a nightmare!
I used Airbnb for the first time instead of going for my trusted Booking, and TripAdvisor. The host was listed as a female, and ended up being some sketchy dude that wanted me to come get the keys from him and leave my boyfriend in the airport because he had a delay of one hour in his flight. After he bullied us for check out time, and harassed us, he left me a terrible 1 star review. I will never use Airbnb again, in fact I cancelled my account and will continue with Booking form now on.
The place we paid for had someone else still there when we tried to checkin. Airbnb told us they'd give us a coupon for $101. Then told us to book somewhere else and they'd take care of things. So now I'm in a dump, 30 miles from where I want to be, stuck in Myrtle Beach, and have paid $600 more than my original place. I can't stay in this dump. And Airbnb will not respond. It's been seven hours since we first notified them.
This company has become so big, they are acting like dictators! They make new rules without support of hosts and are just horrible as they go the way of a huge conglomeration ruling the planet. Customer service is pretty flaky... they don't know whats going on half the time. Time for some stiff competition! Hurry on in!
One week out from a trip, I reserved a wing of a house that was supposed to have two private bedrooms. They booked it incorrectly and only gave us one room. Less than 12 hours later I found the mistake when the emailed me the itinerary. Now the refuse to give me a full refund. I paid close to 800 for two nights and they are giving me 150 back. Do not book with them. This company is complete garbage and they are impossible to get a hold of.
The place I rented did not have the amenities it promised (heated pool) and was dirty. Also the host showed up in our backyard in the dark with a flashlight unannounced during our stay and it made us feel extremely unsafe. So, there is the component of having a host that is dodgy. But the component that compelled me to write this review is the way airbnb handled my concern. They sided with the host based on his rating overall rather than my individual experience. My experience was uniquely bad but because his reviews were ok from other guests my concern were not addressed and was minimized. There is not direct number to contact airbnb and so all complaints are logged in an e-mail process. They called me back and that's when I got their number. By the way, it's *******262 if anyone is looking to call them directly.
The host Amy a registered nurse rented me her property and it had rats living inside the basement. One night I ran across the rat as I was coming home from work shortly after 8 p. M I asked for a refund and cancelation and the host said know because I didn't give her a chance to assess the situation. Please beware and do not rent from this property. The host Amy is a light skin African American and she does not believe in doing what's right in my opinion. Please do not be a victim she took $1771 from me.
Tip for consumers:
Amy in Buffalo NY is not a fare business woman avoid any property she posts.

Stayed for 7 days and left due to rats in the basement of the home and an oder of wet rats smell coming through the vents.
I've only had great experiences, both domestic and overseas, with airbnb. There may have been updates to the site over the last year, because the extra fees are obviously stated before you book. Paying the extra fees is a bummer, but I have found the travel experience to be much less expensive and more fulfilling than staying at a hotel.
1) The owners descriptions are misleading to the point of being fraudulent. A "Home" is whatever they choose to define. I wanted an entire home, as advertised along with pics and a full description of all the rooms. Turned out the "Home" was a single bedroom and bath adjoined to another "Home".
2) Dealing with Airbnb is the absolute pits. Nothing get's done, no responses, just nothing.
3) Home owners don't let you off the hook. There's no way I could find to cancel a Request. Its up to the owner of the property. If they do nothing, you're stuck as you can't make another Request for the same time period. I spent 3 days waiting for the owner to Decline. After that I tracked them down and, still, nothing has been done.
Given the amount of funds involved in any single transaction, Airbnb has a very long way to go before it could be considered a useful service. As it stands it appears the property owners are annoyed at the fees charged and the users with the service provided.
Airbnb has no customer support when it comes to issues. I am a host, and although they have cheated me out of tax money that I am required to collect, whenever a reservation changes I am left with no resolution. You cannot get anyone on the phone who can help. When they say someone will call you back no one ever does. They also do not respond to chat. So although they easily collect money from both the host and the guest, they expect you to handle all issues without bothering them. Every other booking engine has an easy way to contact them and discuss your issue, and seem to want to help. Also, the other engines do not charge the guest any fee.
I recently used AIRBNB to be a host for one of my small bedroom. The platform treats the host very nasty. They adjust my room's price by giving a huge discount over the service fee. You, as a host, almost have to unconditionally host a stranger and do their room service for free. If you don't accept their discounted price on you, your listing will not be recommended so you won't get a book. And also if you are not happy with just one-night booking because it doesn't even set off your cost, so wanna cancel the booking, guest what, they will deduct $50 from the paycheck you earned from your previous hosting. It SUCKS. Some people paid $10 per night expected a hotel service plus a luxury room and kitchen. You never know what kind of ridiculous expectation they will have over a $10 bill and you cannot even justify that through that platform. For sure, as a host, really think about it before you post your place. It was really an unpleasant experience for me.
I took a last minute reservation from a guest through Airbnb. They state that they check people out--Security Measures in place, what a joke! The girl was 15 years old and came and had a party at my house with 40 of her 15 to 16 year old friends. Airbnb is difficult to get any money from you bogus security deposit that they claim you have online and refund you for the damage and excess cleaning. I'll stick with VRBO.
I booked a honeymoon for my son through this company and just wanted to add an additional day. The female customer service representative was unfriendly, not accommodating, unprofessional, and rude. She had no skills to communicate with a customer. She never let me finish telling her why I called and in the end, she hung up. Looking at all the negative reviews, I would never have this company representing my property or refer this business to any of my friends.
I´ve been renting out our holiday cottage over Airbnb for a couple of years now, and everything worked out fine. Until this week. I´ve been trying to contact their customer service for two days, and it is well nigh impossible. They have given a guest who wants to stay for a week in August - a week in September, and no matter how many times I email them, nothing happens.
Unfortunately, we have no telephone number, so have to rely on emails.
Shoddy service, and have lost the customer too. He of course didn´t take the week in September.
Airbnb,
Am disappointed with airbnb, that a host can write a racist review and you don't see anything wrong with it.
I will never use Airbnb, your customers services is bad.
This show you take anybody who comes wanting to host their house without, careful educating them.
If I can give more less than 1 star, I would have. I don't recommend anybody to book from you guys, because you don't care about guest only what they can offer you.
This is outrageous. For company valued at 10 billion dollars, I would think that they would care for their customer and acknowledge the obvious programming error that your computer system doesn't accept the coupon on your booking site. Also, that no one has the power to over ride "the system" to credit my coupon is not credible. Someone has that ability, who is that person?
I am no longer in your "community", as it is clear that your company's objective is purely monetary and takes no heed at all to valid complaints.
I intend to take my complaint further.
The quality of airbnb depends solely on luck. You might get some amazing people who try their best to accommodate you and make the staying experience as fun as possible or you get absolute apathy from people who only care about getting some extra money in their pocket and only see you as a means to an end. It can be used if you're in a hurry, but if you have more time look into cheap hotels, booking in advance might turn out cheaper.
I am a host on air bnb and I absolutely despise the company. When guests ruin your home the "host guarantee" is complete bull$#*!. They offer anyone refunds for any reason and quote "extenuating circumstance". I am removing my listing with them as they are terrible.
Airbnb is a rip off! I booked a place and was unable to stay and checked out the same day because I had violent ghetto house mates, who bullied me off the property. I contacted the host and Airbnb for a refund and both refuse to reply to me. They took my money and refuse to help me so it's a Lose lose situation all the way around the bored. I will not be using this app ever again in life….
I got sick year ago with cancer and almost died. Because of this I had to cancel some reservations, in which I called the people and airbnb to explain the situation. I finally got better recently and started doing it again, a year later, and they want to penalize me by stealing $200 from my payout. Even after contacting them again and explaining it all over again, they refused to waive this penalty. So now my already paycheck to paycheck income is reduced even more this month. Thieves. Terrible experience.
Host was very intrusive and weird. Sent an email wanting to give tour of a 2 bedroom apartment. I didn't request a tour and operating an exhaust is not difficult which was his excuse for wanting come in the space we rented. He knocked on the door 9pm at night. He literally tried to push his way through but I blocked the door. My family was very uncomfortable so we left late at night and had to find a new place to stay during a graduation weekend which meant places were expensive. Understand this we are African American in a predominantly white environment which we had to be mindful of how we handled this man who probably knows all the police due to it being a small town. So even if we had a valid complaint against this man what's the likelihood of us getting justice or treated fairly. The safest thing for us to do was leave this man's property
You really have watch yourself here! First non refundable cancellation, that alone should send bad vibes through your bones. Second, these owners are scam artist, these guys are in the electric and water business too. Don't expect to just pay the electric bill, they will charge you more, up to 3 times what the electric company charges. Water, maybe trash in some countries, expect to pay top dollar. So what seems like a good deal can cost more in the end than just paying for a motel. Plus you don't have some idiot trying to intimidate you and wreck your vacation, oh yea not good!
Based on my experience this company engages in discriminatory practices, locking/shutting down accounts (my account) without good cause or due diligence.
Customer services are farmed out offshore and are nonexistent.
Airbnb business practices are questionable, to say the least, and I would be more than happy to join the class action law suit against this company.
I just want to vent my frustration at the Airbnb website process. I understand the motives for checking out potential customers but the process of uploading documents, videos and looking for social media history(of which I have very little) is so time consuming and tests one patience to the limit. In my case it was beyond the limit as I gave up after hours of trying. I wonder how many more there are like me and how many bookings are being lost by airbnb hosts. On top of all that to get an email after the verification process had failed and the booking cancelled to be told that my account had been debited and that there may be a delay in refunding it to my credit card was a shock to me. An awful way of doing business and I will not be attempting to use this site again. If this is the mess that they make of the registration and booking process I wonder how secure their storage of customers data is. Beware!
Rented a place for a friend's wedding because all the hotels were booked d/t events in the area. Owner cancelled at the last minute because they sold the place. Never disclosed it was on the market. All the hotels are full so we're stuck driving long distance to and from the wedding. Airbnb says owners are free to cancel anytime so no guarantees. Tough luck!
I have not taken my Paris vacation yet, which we have booked through Airbnb. But I can tell you that they charge the full amount at the time the rental is booked. Also, they charge a relatively large fee on top of that.
I asked Airbnb customer service to redeem the interest charges for the four months that they are holding a couple of thousand dollars of my money, and I got a rude answer back. So, their business practice is very unusual and I won't be using their site anymore.
Airbnb is a marketplace for short-term vacation rentals, room rentals, apartment rentals and sublets. Home and apartment owners (or renters) pay a fee to list, market and rent their places.
