“Luxury Redefined with Airbnb Luxe”

SOUMYA RANJAN B.

My experience with Airbnb Luxe was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into my luxurious villa, I was greeted with unparalleled comfort and elegance. Every detail, from the stunning architecture to the impeccable interior design, was thoughtfully curated to create a truly unforgettable experience. The amenities, from private pools to personal chefs, exceeded my expectations and made me feel like royalty. Moreover, the concierge service was exceptional, catering to my every need and ensuring a seamless stay from start to finish. Airbnb Luxe has redefined luxury travel for me, and I can't wait to indulge in another unforgettable experience.

“Worst Experience Ever!”

Amanda N.
8/31/24

Airbnb has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. No support when things go wrong. I didn't feel safe at a place I rented and check in or stay there. They will not refund the full amount. Was promised a $300 refund, then only give $200. The reservation costed $423. I will never book through them again! This has been a nightmare!

He company has a very low standard for their hosts. They pretty much allow all sorts of scammers to "rent out" their "house." We had a major issue with an apartment, and Airbnb's customer service desk is simply not available to help. To begin with, you can't find their number on the website. The company purposely hide ways to contact them on the airbnb website. Once you find their number, (google search), typical wait time is about 30 mins. If you want to rent from Airbnb... do it at your own risk. Our host scammed us out of 160 dollars and Airbnb, after admitting the scam, refused to help.

I have stayed in 5 airbnb's now and all but one had problems. Either smoking, not clean enough, no toilet paper, one guy even had a party while we were there and were making noise until 4am. Now I realize part of it is that I like my privacy, quiet time and things to be really clean so I gave airbnb another chance and rented an entire apartment. Everything was fine in this apartment until we flushed the toilet for the first time and a horrible sewer smell started to fill the air. The host was completely aware of the problem too when I emailed him about it.

Unless airbnb is the only way you can afford your trip it should be avoided at all costs.

I have always loved the Air B&B platform and concept. Almost all my experiences and stays go amazing. Although their customer service is awful. Robot chat online for 10 minutes before you get a phone number. They are in India and seem to be trained to escalate and make you angry so they can have recorded data that you are just an angry person for their lawyers. If you ask them if they are even in the USA they claim your being racist and make political remarks, once you are pissed off they professionally say "We are not allowed to disclose our location". Horrible experience. Bring customer service back to America! Why would I want to do service with a company that won't tell me their legal jurisdiction if they are lawyering up on me?

Refund policy is whatever they want it to be that day. You have to notify them you will harass their hosts in person for a refund.

Verified purchase

My wife and my daughter have been struggling with bed bugs after I rented a place at Airbnb. I used to rent vacancies over Booking.com in trips for more than 10 years and never had any problems. I was my first and last time I booked eith Airbnb. I never forgive myself. The landlord knew this major issue but did not let us know until we got too many rashs. They just think for making money, not their guestsc health and safety!
Airbnb customer service is awful too and they just wants to buy time until you leave and closes the case for ridiculous reasons!
They are not accountable at all.

I had only had good experiences with airbnb until this spring. A host in Seattle mis-represented her property as a studio in a house, and it turned out to be a glorified room with paper thin walls, extremely loud people staying in other parts of the house, and mold that made my allergies even worse. I had to cancel after one night, and offered to pay an extra night plus any cancelation fees. She already had my money for the entire month. After no reply from her, I got airbnb involved. I reasonable asked for two thirds of my money back. At first, they responded and said they were looking into it, but after follow-up calls/emails, nothing more from them. I would never use airbnb again!

Buyer beware cancellation policy has 4 different versions. Regardless of what the promo tells you they renigged on the refund and stated the host(Trudy Cozy Kona Kai retreat) goes by the firm. Mean while she is sending me messages telling me I should get a refund and differed all back to AirBnB which then lies to you. Sad how they make you select 1

Too many scams with services being listed in descriptions that you are asked to pay for, non existent plumbing where pipes are emptied into buckets and then buckets need to be emptied, inaccurate descriptions and sometimes dirty, mold and vermin invested.
AirBnB does not track complaints and allows hosts who have been on the service for years to delete their reviews. It is obvious this could also be tracked, easily.
Too often when I have refused to do a rental deal outside of AirBnB or decided I did not want to spend more time the hosts have gotten angry.
The prices are quite inflated and the gentrifying that occurs contributes to displacement, poverty and disenfranchisement. I could not attach an image of the reciept for verification.

Tip for consumers:
Pay attention to the reviews! They are quite inflated.

DO not put your listing on AIRBNB. They delay your payments and its been almost 3 months since the last person checked out of my place and i still have not receive my money.

The customer service sucks and they pretty much use standard templates to answer you

Tip for consumers:
You are not going to receive your payments after the person checks out of your unit

Website looks good (has a "fresh" look), is easy to use thanks to the interactive map (will show only properties in the area you are zooming in if you check the box in the top left corner).

Client service was very reactive to my questions and worries (it was the first time I was booking through it) and proposed a discount on the property when it appeared it had a (minor) problem compared to what was initially advertised.

And of course you save money compared to hotels!

I recommend!

My wife and I were scheduled to go to the National Bible Bowl in San Diego in June and it was cancelled due to the Virus. When we cancelled our reservation, we only received 50% of our deposit. I can understand if we arbitrarily cancelled, but that was not the case. This error cost us over $900.00. Good Luck if you use them.

The site has continued to go to new lows. Closed all 8 houses down in one moment in an email and refused to call. Someone made a complaint I had 140 positive reviews please only use as adjunctive site. VRBO is far better. Especially if issues as someone will at least calll

My family and I stayed at an Air Bnb for the first time recently. Never again. We arrived to a bug problem, were unable to enter, came he next day, had no bedding, no towels, the property was misrepresented and my daughter even cut herself on a broken mirror on the floor (what? Why was that there!)

We had many altercations with the staff and got none of our money back after enduring their condescension, absurd complaint policies, and general ignorance about how to deal with a human. Never again. Would never recommend this service. The cost is inticing but this was the worst travel experience of my family's life. Never again.

Although I cancelled my accommodation within 24hrs, in writing... Airbnb refuse to issue me with a refund. One unprofessional person in a chat room has made this decision on their own and won't provide me with an address to make a formal complaint to allow my case to be heard fairly. My host agreed that I had cancelled then she quickly changed her mind, probably when she realised the financial benefit. They definitely favour the host over the traveller "Beware of these scammers, sadly we are living in desperate times, one wrong move and they are on you like a parasite!"

Airbnb cancelled our prepaid reservation at the last moment and ruined our vacation plans. We prepaid the reservation 3 weeks in advance. On the day before our 9 hour drive to that location, we discovered that we had never received a reservation destination address. We asked by email: What is the address? We were told by the "host" that the address would not be provided until the day of the arrival and apparently not until shortly before arrival because the "host did not want people arriving early". We emailed back that never before in all our travels had our destination address been kept a secret. We emailed a strong demand note requesting the address. The address was finally sent, but then our reservation was cancelled "because we were too aggressive and host did not like that". Thus ended our
One and only attempt to use Airbnb. We are warning our large circle of family, friends, and business acquaintances to avoid Airbnb like the plague.

Tip for consumers:
Should have looked at your reviews before making the reservation.

Avoid the horror. Aside from the outrageous fees, the real problem with this "service" is that they do not use a third party to police complaints. We recently stayed at an establishment who claimed that we caused more than $350 in damage. As a clean professional couple with no history of such activities, we were shocked. Close inspection of the "damages" revealed that the hosts were just trying to give their place a facelift -- free of charge. Airbnb sided with the hosts for reasons that were never explained to us. Forget trying to talk to someone over the phone - they will not do it. Also, forget receiving meaningful emails - everything they send is boilerplate. Extremely high risk to save a few dollars.

I think it is absolutely outrageous that you want full payment at time of reservation when the reservation is six months in the future. Everyone else asks for a credit card # or a deposit. I cannot imagine why anyone would use your services. If I book a cruise they do not ask for the full payment upfront. I cannot believe anyone is stupid enough to use your services. P. S> a $670 cleaning fee is outrageous

Airbnb has little quality control. Premises not clean either time. Linens and sheets almost clean. Most recent rental had a torn down motorcycle in the driveway, half eaten food in the refrigerator, clothes stuffed in closets almost 4 ft deep, no room for ours on shelves, hangers or drawers. One room had over 20 pairs of old shoes on a rack and smelled of BO. Carpets weren't clean or even vacuumed. When we complained to the host he asked if we understood Airbnb. We do now and will avoid future exposure to the aggravation.

They don't require hosts to review you so if you don't meet the minimum of 3 good reviews you can't book less than a week in advance. Ridiculous for someone who travels from one airbnb to a new one multiple times a week. The only message I received when trying to book places was that there was a safety concern after I went through all the trouble of filling out info multiple times. When I called support they couldn't do anything but agree. I had 2 out of the 3 reviews needed. No bad reviews. Almost 100 stays and i've only had 2 hosts review me. What is the benefit of this rule for airbnb? At this point I will be bringing my business anywhere else like vrbo which isn't so strict.

This site is a joke! I have a beautiful log cabin in Canada and it can sleep 10 people Airbnb think if a renter asks if they can stay but might be a few more that when in fact it's 20 people - camping out arpeggios be your home - you have to allow it. The support staff are anything but supportive. You get told one decision, paid, then a different decision and money clawed back. BUT they keep their fees! Delays of several weeks occurred so all round bad news! No liability no responsibility so if you value your home RUN

The worst company ever. Even though I cancelled my booking 3 weeks before the checkin because of my visa issue, they didn't refunded me more than $500. Also, for those days, the host found new guests. They made money by doing nothing.

Really research their policies, they are so in favor the person renting. You can accept a reservation for 4 months from now and they can cancel at last minute. Airbnb also does not collect any deposit money and it is up to 'them' wither or not to pursue your claim for you. They take ALL CONTROL of your listing. You can not run a business with their policies. Use VRBO.

While I loved the location of my Airbnb, and the place was spotless, I was charged a cleaning fee, but required to strip sheets and place with used towels in a specific area, combine trash from all trash cans into one, wash dishes, etc. Also, the stairs to the 2nd floor apartment had no railing, which is pretty dangerous for an old lady like me who is carrying luggage. I think Airbnb should notice things like this and talk with hosts about their attitudes towards guests. I am very respectful of hosts' properties, this seemed a bit out of line to me.

Airbnb uses hosts, "Barry" in this case, to confirm requests for specific properties. In our case, the host had 5 properties all in the same complex in Sea Pines Hilton Head Island. One property had a discount rate of $375 per night which we requested (the bait). We were then told after 24 hours that that unit was no longer available but one at $480 per night was (the switch). To me, this is unethical and possibly fraudulent behavior. I will never use Airbandb again. I recommend everyone use VRBO.

Easily find every partially inhabitable apartment in major cities around the world. In London and New York, there are lots of Airbnb apartments that have problems (i. E., mold and no heat, respectively) that are serious enough that the owner doesn't want to live there and probably cannot sell it.

Customers should be aware of this risk. Because Airbnb customer services is basically nonexistent, or has no phone number, don't expect help with any problems in the apartments.

If Airbnb wants to keep its economics, it needs to deal with the apartments that are fraudulently promoted using its application. Users should require a bigger discount versus hotels to take the risk.

Staying at 139 Engert Ave in Brooklyn, NY now. Certainly would not recommend this location. There is no privacy and the host doesn't appear to care about quality of stay. This will likely be last time I use Airbnb. I simply expect a host to be more considerate of me as a customer and guest. At least hotels treat you with respect.
