My experience with Airbnb Luxe was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into my luxurious villa, I was greeted with unparalleled comfort and elegance. Every detail, from the stunning architecture to the impeccable interior design, was thoughtfully curated to create a truly unforgettable experience. The amenities, from private pools to personal chefs, exceeded my expectations and made me feel like royalty. Moreover, the concierge service was exceptional, catering to my every need and ensuring a seamless stay from start to finish. Airbnb Luxe has redefined luxury travel for me, and I can't wait to indulge in another unforgettable experience.
Airbnb has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. No support when things go wrong. I didn't feel safe at a place I rented and check in or stay there. They will not refund the full amount. Was promised a $300 refund, then only give $200. The reservation costed $423. I will never book through them again! This has been a nightmare!
The fact that Airbnb allows renters in illegal israeli settlements is definitely immoral, and possibly in violation of international law. I will not be using their services as long as they run those listings.
Evidently Airbnb hosts can cancel reservations as their whim, even though they take all of the payment up front. Customer service is non existent.
Be careful if you want to have a place to stay when you are travelling
I booked an apartment for 1 night. Just before 10 days the host (Candace) responded me saying her community doesn't allow renting anymore.
This is disgusting.
Moreover, if you visit AIRBNB website, you won; t find call center number to get all your concerns addressed.
The customer service for Airbnb for owners is terrible, I heard some nightmares, but had to live one with them recently. These guys simply don't cover anything and find every possible way to not cover any of the damages and issues that will inevitably happen when having renters. I may lose money by deleting my place from here and going directly to their competitors, but at least I know I'll be treated like a human. Get additional insurance, you'll need it, their owners coverage does nothing.
Always under review... for a simple and clear case---you put deposit 4 months before check-in but host is out of contact and cancelled your reservation. What customer right do you expect as a guest in the relationship with Airbnb?
When you lost contact with host, airbnb won't compensate your loss for rebooking even though you put deposit through airbnb to secure the booking and notified airbnb timely. Airbnb just accept deposit and charge service fee but is unwilling to take its own responsibility!
Tip for consumers:
Deposit is nonsense! Airbnb takes deposit but won't t take any responsibility to compensate you if the host cancels the reservation or you lose contact with host.

I booked a place, paid for it and within an hour the guy cancelled our trip stating family emergency. Now I can't book another one because my money is not in my account! Also, I read the strict cancellation policy for us, the travelers. How we would only receive 50% back if cancelled. Well why don't the ones offering the places have a similar rule. They can just cancel at any time without consequence.
We are in Sorrento, Italy now. Booked an apt for 4 of us. Terrible experience. Electricity constantly goes off. Have to reset the power breaker 4 flights of stairs down 4-5 times per day. Power goes off even when we're not here. Also, no hot water for 3 days. No resolution so far from the property manager - he is pretty much mad every time we contact him. Will never book thru Airbnb again.
Airbnb tolerates fraudulent listings and, what is even worse, will side with the hosts who lie in their posts. I was tricked into booking a place where number of bedrooms and beds was inflated. Good luck getting support let alone refund from them. It worked until it didn't, buyer beware!
Worst customer service ever. Been waiting on a refund I was "guaranteed" would post within 24 hours. It's been about 3 weeks now and have gotten the same bs about "Escalating" my issue. Whatever that means. Company is a joke. Will steal your money.
Once I received the address after booking and searched the rental I found it 1,000 cheaper. If you try to cancel your reservation you only receive 25% refund. Do not use AirBNB, they are a scam company just search through other more reputable companies.
So many impositions and they have only brought us two bookings in three years! Like google, I don't even think they have a customer service department. Either bots or volunteer hosts answer any inquiries.
Like uber, it blows my mind how a business model based on other people's properties can make these people wealthy beyond recognition.
If you are booking, go directly through the property owners, save money, be respectful and aware of karma.
Tip for consumers:
Don't book through airbnb or any other such platform. You can do better going directly through the property owners.

Overpriced, use alternative websites. They will raise your rates significantly, as they monitor your strong interest of a specific property. Their competitors are typically cheaper & user friendly. By giving them one star, I have been kind.
Host don't understand basics, no way to wipe your feet either door, they are so cheap the TV service doesn't work, no coffee, dirty fans with dust falling down and roaches. Then they demand a 5star review. Not possible ever ever
Tried twice to book over Christmas new year period prices quoted on web site where reasonable but when booking reply was 1) closing for renovations highly unbelievable 2) rates are wrong if you want to book it will be double that price
Over it went elsewhere and got a better deal
My gf was tricked into a listing in a high crime neighborhood. The owners defended themselves by saying, "Our listing says 'for seasoned travelers' but we understand if you don't want to stay." Which = travelers willing to deal with being solicited for sex, drug addicts, local dug dens, etc. The owners know this and thus have a 'strict' cancellation policy, ensuring that those who realized they've been conned can do nothing about getting their money back.
Customer service is a joke; the female 'supervisor' told my gf that "she understands but will not issue a refund." Since when does a woman in a position of authority not empathize with a female customer who feels in physical danger?
I'm sure there are good people out there, but new life experiences and meeting people are not worth going with this company that may leave you in the ghetto of your vacation city with no money back and no cares in the world if you live or die...
Airbnb charges a ridiculous service fee - I rented for one night, and they charge $50. Was not really made clear - or vague enough to overlook. Place was lovely - but do not like the Airbnb process, extra charges, difficulty in connecting with rental Will not use them again unless can't find anything else via other sites and direct.
AirBnb is an unreasonable company who refuses to deal with issues regarding the accomodation that they advertise. The place that my son stayed at which was advertised on their website was immaculate in photos however when my son arrived there were broken bed side tables, dirty linen, dirty carpets and limited amount of dishes etc. I contacted the woman in charge of the house and airbnb to discuss the matter... No one got back to me. Now I'm getting spam emails from the company! I've told them to take me off their emailing just 5 times now and still it continues. No one listens, you don't have a voice.
As a host I have been subjected to their underhanded and unprofessional behavior coming from their "Trust and Safety" team e.g. blocking my listings from being booked WITHOUT informing or advising me in advance etc, and keeping totally quiet about it - resulting guests also being unable to book without any reason provided.
Their customer service team can be rude and very inconsistent with the quality of service e.g. one person says their policy is this, but another agent advises something totally contradictory!
Avoid Airbnb at all cost.
Since 2014 I have hosted three vacation rental properties, two of which were in Costa Rica. Airbnb was one of the rental sites I used. During this time as their status grew, they became more totalitarian. They now cancel reservations on a whim with no thought given to how this affects the hosts. They assume total power over reservations and you cannot predict what they may do.
The CEO, Brian Chesney, assumes godlike power over hosts and guests. His actions have become steadily more outside the boundaries of good business.
My advice is to avoid doing business thru Airbnb. They will turn on you if it suits them. Hopefully a class action lawsuit will arise from their actions.
Horrible customer service. Our 5 month old reservation for Spring Break with kids in Hawaii was cancelled the day we arrived with no explanation. We incurred substantial additional costs due to finding a new place and they have offered no compensation despite being told at the time that they would. Have called Airbnb every day for the past week and they keep promising a manager will call me back but no one does. Truly a disgrace. Won't ever use them again. Better off using a professional rental company, even if it costs a bit more
I booked and stayed somewhere for 4 nights. It was not as described ie Boutique room. Bathroom door would not close, sunshade useless in afternoon sun, bedroom so small could hardly walk around it, rusty fridge, I could go on but you get the picture! As I hate complaining I left it but cancelled my booking for same space 3 months ahead!. I cant get a refund on my 50% deposit. Written complaint to AirBnB with photographic evidence, no reply. I shall never use AirBnB again, stick to Booking.com, fantastic customer service and easy cancellation.
Refund policy tricky. Missed refund deadline fir a full refund by 12 hours, my fault, however the $553 I put as deposit was kept…the trickery in the wording I wont receive any money back. Property management KM Properties Bass Lake should be embarrassed to keep that kind of money from a patron. Keep a night $250 but not $553! Terrible business and policy. Done with Airbnb. Last 2 places were terrible too. Looked nothing like pictures and descriptions misleading. Plenty of other places to stay dont need them.
Tip for consumers:
Do not trust AirBnB
Avoid airbnb.com. They have what appears as some good properties, but the availability dates are never accurate. After entering your CC information, you'll get an e-mail from your want-to-be host that your dates are booked. So sorry... spend hours trying to find another place. After all, time isn't money, is it?
Tip for consumers:
Avoid airbnb. Call a local Realtor or use another rental site.
Trying to get a resolution to a problem created by their system has been overwhelming, full of dead ends, and lacking basic respect. I am shocked beyond words. -5 stars for dependability and care.
After +72 hours, +6 different support professionals, and ~4 different awkward "solutions", the latest solve seems like it was basically a lie and it's "too late" for them to follow through. NEVER again will I try to depend on air bnb!
Tip for consumers:
Cross your fingers, cuz you're going to need luck.
2020 Jan. I'm using Airbnb for years, but I realised that they getting so full with crap, their business model start showing signs of racketeering. It's NOT what it used to be! They keep jacking up prices by the day, so if you thought of a reservation and saved it to get some answers from the host... all the sudden next day the price is higher. Then the price shown in CAD (as my selection) all the sudden changing in USD when I click the reserve button, meaning that they ripping me off with the exchange rate and making me to pay 2.5 % more on my credit card. Service fee is getting crazy, same as certain city's all kinds of mambo jumbo taxes...
Airbnb is a marketplace for short-term vacation rentals, room rentals, apartment rentals and sublets. Home and apartment owners (or renters) pay a fee to list, market and rent their places.
