“Luxury Redefined with Airbnb Luxe”

SOUMYA RANJAN B.
4/23/24

My experience with Airbnb Luxe was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into my luxurious villa, I was greeted with unparalleled comfort and elegance. Every detail, from the stunning architecture to the impeccable interior design, was thoughtfully curated to create a truly unforgettable experience. The amenities, from private pools to personal chefs, exceeded my expectations and made me feel like royalty. Moreover, the concierge service was exceptional, catering to my every need and ensuring a seamless stay from start to finish. Airbnb Luxe has redefined luxury travel for me, and I can't wait to indulge in another unforgettable experience.

“Worst Experience Ever!”

Amanda N.
8/31/24

Airbnb has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. No support when things go wrong. I didn't feel safe at a place I rented and check in or stay there. They will not refund the full amount. Was promised a $300 refund, then only give $200. The reservation costed $423. I will never book through them again! This has been a nightmare!

My rating is below zero.
One month ago I couldn't access my account so I contacted Airbnb to find out what's going on. Only after two week they made me able to re-enter my account where I see that someone had used it for a travel without my knowledge. Now A MONTH passed by and they are still not able to let me know what happen and if there was any debit from my card.
Very unacceptable way to "keep our community safe" as they like to flaunt.

We were scheduled for an Airbnb property rental during our spring break. Two days before departure the President declared the country in a national state of emergency due to the coronavirus. Airbnb was uncooperative, as well as the owner of our rental house, to allow us to reschedule our visit. There was no offer to help in any way, just a curt "hey I'm losing money too for cancellations". 0 customer service. Save yourself and use a hotel which will work with you for unforeseen, national events impacting your travel.

Airbnb uses hosts, "Barry" in this case, to confirm requests for specific properties. In our case, the host had 5 properties all in the same complex in Sea Pines Hilton Head Island. One property had a discount rate of $375 per night which we requested (the bait). We were then told after 24 hours that that unit was no longer available but one at $480 per night was (the switch). To me, this is unethical and possibly fraudulent behavior. I will never use Airbandb again. I recommend everyone use VRBO.

I have been waiting for over a month for them to get me a payment for my first hosting. Some problem occurred with them sending a check and then they couldn't find it. I sent a message, it was ignored. Tried for half an hour to find any phone number, called and the issue just got passed on to someone who sends a senseless reply every two days or so. I call to complain and they say there's nothing they can do. I'm preparing to take legal action against them at this point. So incredibly frustrating!

Airbnb is very anti-host and forced me to refund a guest who complained about construction noise that was beyond my control. I did give him a week's notice about construction as soon as I found out, and also offered to let him end his stay without penalty if he wished to find alternate accommodations. He chose to stay, and Airbnb still intervened awarded him $895 as a refund using their Refund and Rebooking policy. I would like Airbnb to give me my $895 back because this was awarded to a guest who simply wanted a free stay. Airbnb has as of yet provided no reason why they awarded him a refund, since outside construction noise is outside of host control and not mentioned in their refund policy.

Air BNB is only giving 12.5% on bookings tell may 30th. After that they expect hosts to get bookings which is completely unfair as there are no bookings left. This 250 million dollars they put aside only gives less then 100 dollars a booking. This is not close to enough to pay for Bill's. Us as hosts can select how our cancellation policy will be and mine is the hardest setting, yet I'm not getting enough to pay for the Bill's? Over all never would use this service ever again. Someone needs to sue air bnb. They are braking the host contract which has screwed me and many hosts over in the past but this is not allowed.

I am the landlord of a house in Portugal. The tenant has been doing airbnb illegally and without authorisation for years. Airbnb refuses to remove the ad because they cannot read the tenancy agreement front page I sent to them. I also sent them the email to local authorities and tax entity. Airbnb is legally allowing someone advertising a room that is against the law. As a previous Airbnb customer I cannot see myself un

This was my first experience and last with airbnb, i wanted to rent out flat so opted for the free session with photographer, he came took pictures, and never uploaded them to the site, i contacted airbnb 5 weeks later as he said it will take 4 weeks, they just messed me around, and said shall we send another one, i said no it's a waste of my time, they sent me emails weeks after the trail had gone cold...
I ended up getting a mate to do it, who done a good job, but nobody rented the flat anyway.
After reading the reviews I'm glad it was not rented..

I've tried to search on Explorer and Firefox and the searches just do not work. I can't even contact them about it, because it requires a log in and that doesn't even work. I'm fed up with trying to use Airbnb.

With the Covid-19 pandemic creating havoc for many of us you would think companies would be working with repeat customers. Not Air bnb though. We booked accommodation in Northfield VT in November for an event at our sons' college (Norwich University). We were informed that they will not be going back and therefore all events are cancelled. We went to cancel our booking, with over three months' notice, and were told we would only get $67 back from our $583 deposit. Air bnb have not answered any of our attempts to contact them about this situation. Air bnb clients make a lot of off season booking through Norwich University families. I intend taking the matter up with the University and Parents Association to get them to remove Air bnb from their accommodation information recommendations.

I am 51 years old, my wife is 49, we have three children all under 13 and have been denied reservations because we are 'a party threat'. No reason given why we have been identified as such. I am a teacher and an ordained priest. All of our children are adopted out of foster care -- we've taken care of 43 children thus far. Parties? Who has time?

So long story short, I own a home that my husband and I have spent a chunk of our lives fixing, remodeling and shifting from shack to chic. We rented it out and made a terrible mistake visavi renting to a deadbeat who posted our home on airbnb. Obviously that is our problem; however, when we contacted airbnb to remove the listing, they refused. We are evicting the tenant and will have him forcibly removed in three days time. Unfortunately, for those unsuspecting airbnb and renters, our home will once again be ours and they will not have a place to reside over the holidays. Bummer! Terrible service. Their modo should be "Screwing landlords and customers alike."

Air bnb is choosing to keep people's money during a national pandemic. Even if the host agrees to a full refund, Airbnb is keeping hundreds of dollars as a service fee without apology. This is entirely unethical during such a time as this. I highly recommend you do not book thru Airbnb unless you want your money taken for nothing. Book directly thru the host or thru HomeAway and save money!

This company is horrible. They have zero concern for the guests and it sounds like zero concern for the hosts. They are only interested in getting paid. I had a bad experience and the Airbnb rep was totally biased in keeping the deal alive. I even told him at at point that he could at least try to sound objective. Airbnb will be vaporized by fast moving information on the Internet. They have a cumulative score of 1.3 stars over 2 review sites with 2K reviews. That would be poetic justice... the Internet giveth but it will also taketh away. They sound like they will overtake Comcast as the worst company in America.

I've tried Airbnb twice now in Naples, FL., and Scottsdale AZ. I chose higher end properties both times because I wanted a really nice quality experience. How much? I paid about $650 PER NIGHT at both properties. The Naples place had no TV service: they expected you to have your own plan to feed into their system and the Scottsdale place said they had internet but NOPE. Both times the owners got nasty and made excuses as to why their properties sucked. And by the way those issues were the biggest issues! The rest I just chucked up to travel issues, but you might not be as tolerant after a long day of travel. That's 2 out of 2 having major issues. And like I've said, the most troubling part about it was the unprofessionalism of the owners. The concept is suffering because this is just some extra cash for these people: they don't care about your experience. So if having tv and internet is important on your vacation, then look elsewhere.

As a new -comer to Airbnb I can't believe how very poor (non-existent) their customer service is. The web site is a disaster. I found the hosts full of info and charm until my booking was complete, then I think they moved to Mars. Another issue, I cancelled a two day booking six months in advance, and was assured by the host I would not be charged the cancellation fee - I WAS. Clearly no communication between host and Airbnb. When, after several attempts to get answers from "the team" on other issues I eventually received a reply that had absolutely nothing to do with what I had asked? They claim that you will not be charged until after you check in - NOT SO! Never again. I could go on - but life is too short - and I have to book two months of accommodation in 5 countries - NOT with Airbnb.

I hosted a guest in my home just recently. The guest showed up (with an unauthorized guest) and immediately began kicking my dogs, and it went down hill from there (idols, uncleanliness, and using my home as a sexual immoral would use a motel). Long story short, it was a terrible, stressful experience. I was able to get these people out of my home; however, horrible guests do not have to leave. Please know that when you are opening your home to these type arrangements, you are taking a huge risk. It is not Airbnb's policies that govern the arrangement, but the STATE LAWS in which you live.

AirBnB takes a completely one-sided approach to the rental process... ie the renter is always right and the owner is always wrong. What does that mean to you as an owner or manager listing your property on AirBnB? It means that guests who make exaggerated complaints, unreasonable complaints, or even outright false complaints are unquestioningly handed refunds with no recourse or appeal. Doesn't matter if you can document the false or exaggerated nature of the complaint, AirBnB doesn't care about owners. Savvy travelers know this and take advantage of it. Owners are better off putting their time and energy into advertising elsewhere.

In my experience, there was a 50% chance to encounter bad hosts and you'd end up getting fines from airbnb (service charges) even if you got a refund. False claims are very common and airbnb continues to let the problematic properties and hosts on their platform. There's no consumer protection at all. Don't ruin your holiday and get fined. Stay in a hotel. Btw, airbnb properties aren't cheaper than a hotel room.

My account was deactivated without warning, and my trip request was cancelled, leaving me scrambling to make alternative plans. Many of the site's features are not at all intuitive. Customer service could not even see that I had an account. If you call the toll free customer service line you will get nothing but an endless list of promotions they try to cram down your throat.

Check-in guide set up through mobile app cannot be edited or deleted.

When I tried to resolve this matter yesterday, Jacob passed the question to Aiko who tried to close the case without helping me.

I tried to resolve the same matter today with Nick M. And I am told that I'll get a call from a different agent. That was 25 minutes ago.

There is no way for me to rate my customer service experience either.

I am an angry host.

Stay away.
The hosts reply to your reservation requests in their own good time.
The host can cancel your accommodation with 24 hrs notice; can you imagine what situation this puts you in when you have flights booked for a family.
If you you are not happy with your accommodation you can't leave bad feedback on the airbnb site.
DON'T TAKE THE RISK.
Its all one sided towards the host and you can be stranded in an unfamiliar city with no accommodation.

After using Airbnb for years with no problems, when a serious issue finally did occur with one of our bookings, they (Airbnb) were not only unhelpful but rude and disingenuous when contacting them about this issue. They took NO responsibility for this major problem we were having and wasted both my time and money... Would not recommend using their site

There are two things to be aware of when dealing with this shyster company. First of all, when you save a booking in your wish list, they will show a misleading price with all the taxes, services fees and extra charges left out. Then, when you book it they are hoping you won't notice that the actual price is 20-30% higher than expected. They also have a very sneaky practice of changing the cancellation policy without notification. For example I booked a place and then changed my mind almost immediately assuming the 24 hour cancellation policy that had been in place last time I used the service 3 months ago. I ended up getting ripped off for $1100 Cdn because they had changed the policy (probably hoping to capitalize on the fact that people wouldn't check because they thought they already knew the policy).

Tip for consumers:
Don’t!

None, because they ripped me off.
