“Luxury Redefined with Airbnb Luxe”

SOUMYA RANJAN B.
4/23/24

My experience with Airbnb Luxe was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into my luxurious villa, I was greeted with unparalleled comfort and elegance. Every detail, from the stunning architecture to the impeccable interior design, was thoughtfully curated to create a truly unforgettable experience. The amenities, from private pools to personal chefs, exceeded my expectations and made me feel like royalty. Moreover, the concierge service was exceptional, catering to my every need and ensuring a seamless stay from start to finish. Airbnb Luxe has redefined luxury travel for me, and I can't wait to indulge in another unforgettable experience.

“Worst Experience Ever!”

Amanda N.

Airbnb has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. No support when things go wrong. I didn't feel safe at a place I rented and check in or stay there. They will not refund the full amount. Was promised a $300 refund, then only give $200. The reservation costed $423. I will never book through them again! This has been a nightmare!

First three bookings said the dates were already taken.
So I moved on three more times to "those dates are taken".
Next thing I know they're telling me I have to pay for them anyway.
This after 60 prior bookings
With outstanding reviews!
On the phone I could not understand a word the woman said.

Terrible consumer service. The house we rented in Washington DC was poorly located, in a neighborhood where we didn't feel safe. Police was everywhere around the house and we couldn't walk on the streets feeling safe. The house host didn't leave one drawer or one spot where we could put our cloths and belongings. They left their stuff everywhere which really gave us the feeling that we were living in someone else's shoes for one week. We felt very uncomfortable. When we asked for partial refund, Airbnb and the owners didn't care. We were very unhappy about our first experience and will never use Airbnb again as I've heard since then that this kind of poor experience happens a lot with rentals through Airbnb.

Booked a cabin handsome Dan's in Port Renfrew. It was dirty only had one little frying pan and 2 butter knifes. All the cutlery was dirty, we washed it before eating dinner. After dinner I had a shower the tub did not drain. Opened hide a bed it was disgusting, sheets had not been changed for ages. Then we began to take photos of the beds the dirty pots and bad accommodations. We emailed air bnb and said we wanted to leave the said we could leave and get refund as we payed for 6 nights. After there review board looked at it and the owner said I quote that cleansiness is a state of opinion. We have photos and videos. Well a week later we are informed we will not receive a refund, go through another company and look at reviews before booking I did but I looked at reviews in there site which I have now found to be filtered.

I rented a place on Air B&B in January of 2018 for a 6 week rental in February of 2019. My first payment went thru no problem but I changed my credit card before the second payment was due. I called them and also changed my payment method online but they still tried to put second payment thru my old card which, of course, would not go thru. They tried to blame me for their error and call me a liar. I do not like being told I didn't let them know when I had, twice.

If you are OK with staying in a place that is NOT a hotel when you travel, and you are OK with having conversations with your hosts about what to expect, etc, then this is the site for you. If you'd rather check in to an establishment with online reservations, a bellhop to handle your bags, etc, and limited other interaction, this is not the option you should choose. I have used airbnb.com successfully more than once, and each time I've met friendly hosts who understand how to help their clients. I've considered becoming a host myself, but in this case, it truly is that the customer's expectations seem to sometimes be higher than they should be. It's a new concept, and growing, but know what to expect before you make a reservation.

Airbnb gave me one of the worst holiday experiences i've ever had & i'm not one to complain but I would not wish anyone to endure the same! (this is not a fault on the host I stayed with -her apartment was beautiful and as described!) I booked to stay in a place for £279, the currency was not converting between the host & I as the website wasn't responding properly. This resulted in my payment going through 5 times. Airbnb charged my bank £1400 leaving me with no money to get to the airport nor eat whilst on holiday, they refused to refund the money and said my bank would have to do so -the bank said this is not a legal practice they can perform. I rang and spoke to 5 or 6 people about this issue. One of the people I spoke to actually LAUGHED at me and called me stupid over the phone. I've never been treated so poorly by a company in my life. They should be banned.

We will never use Airbnb again. Airbnb pretty much the worst company I have ever seen. The worst customer service experienced anywhere.

They have so many issues with their business! Things almost always go wrong when you use Airbnb, and they provide the worst customer service. An Indian 'follow the script' 'I can't do anything for you' --- customer service person is all you got. And they have no employee ID, no name that you can hold them responsible for, and they obviously don't care about the company's reputation or care to provide good customer service. Care even less trying to understand your situation, and help you solve any problems. So as a host, or renter, you have issue, you can expect to left to pay for it.

As a business owner myself, I really don't like to see other business go bad.
But Airbnb is one of the only company I wish will go out of business, and someone else come into the space with a better run company.

Don't believe in prices in site! You don't know the last price until the end of reservation. I booked a house for three nights and the price was 250 dollars per night but airbnb decided that I should pay 83 Dollars more!
The ask commission between 6 to 12 % from the customer and also ask it from the house owner, Be ready for any unusual commission at the end. Also I could not cancel the reservation because they ask you full amount of payment not only the first night.
So the prices are all fake on the site. Think twice before booking.

After several Airbnb bookings, they refused to rebook, claiming I was using a different debit card. I was not and the last 4 digits of the card had not changed. Then they put me into verification and demanded that I provide them with bank statements showing former payments, which would have involved the card they said I was no longer using. This made no sense to me, but I am not going to be allowed to use their service again, because I will not comply. They have no legitimate use for my banking information. I explained my concerns several times, but they ignored me.

Anyone who has real estate to rent or who wants to rent something would be out of their minds to use this company. I have been waiting for a call back for almost three days with no resolution in sight. If your goal is to frustrate customers and make them angry Airbnb gets 5 stars. If the goal is to resolve problems, there is no rating low enough. 1 star is way too much. DO NOT USE THESE FRAUDS!

Just don't do it. It takes a lot for me to actually get mad and make the decision to write a review but this situation calls for it. They are dishonest and once you pay they don't care. The terms or agreements don't mean anything. I lost $300 yesterday and I can't do anything about it. Best thing I can do is write this review and hope it helps someone and saves them from getting robbed.

Airbnb's website collected a lot of personal info from me, but then cancelled my reservation at the last minute, stating that it was not legitamate.

This was my first and only experience with and airbnb, and it will certainly be my last. Let me assure you that this is an insult and a major inconvenience. I am a legitimate person with a legitimate reservation!

I have repeatedly attempted to contact customer service, and received no answers!

Airbnb's inconsiderate treatment of me as a customer is unacceptable. This site is a DATA GRAB, collecting a great deal of personal info. Regardless of whatever policy they may have that justifies such decisions, it is a scam. Ultimately, we as customers, need to expose all of airbnb's actions and the end results to social media and travel review blogs.

The end result is that airbnb has ruined our travel plans and refused attempts to resolve this matter.

A host cancelled on me 3 days before check-in, Airbnb informed me by email, refunded me, and gave me a coupon of like 35% of the refund too. In the email, they provided me with alternative bookings that are not suitable and are on the other side of the city. At this time any suitable bookings became more than double the old price and the coupon was never enough to cover the new price difference. I had to make my new booking and pay the difference. Airbnb ignored any communications after their initial email, while I asked for support to find a proper place and for a bigger coupon to cover the difference, they completely ignored me. From now on I will stick to hotels whenever it is possible, and you should do so.

I will simply never stay at an airbnb, period. I feel the place is just a scam. After they get a uploaded picture of who is staying, AND a picture of your drivers license Front and Back AND your credit card information, they insist on a web cam photo or texting something. I have an old desk top that has no web cam and I don't know how to use a smart phone to download their app and text. Really oppressive site that wants WAY more information that I have ever had to give to any other reservation site Then when you call, you are talking to the Philippines, no English. They will not work with you, all their way or no way. Well... no way it is.

BEWARE. BEWARE. BEWARE. We tried to book a place in Los Angeles for my birthday only to have my account suddenly deactivated. No explanation, sketchy customer service reps clearly from a different country hung up on me. Emailed me saying they reserve the right to deactivate my account. This was supposed to be a fun trip, had to make other lodging arrangements that turned out to be great. Try a bed & breakfast or hotel, save yourself the heartache. This company won't be around for too much longer. JUST WAIT...

I have to say I have never felt so let down. To be told whilst in Johannesburg, 2 days ahead of flying to Capetown that the accommodation that had been booked through Airbnb in Capetown was no longer available was less than ideal. With three children and being a country that you have never visited before this was a challenging situation.

No contact details to enable us to have a conversation just silence! Never use this company. Still waiting for a response and a refund of the bank charges for our bank transfer plus the returned money was sent back in Euros. Diabolical, complete scam. Don't use them, Found a great company that helped us in the end but wasted a whole day of our holiday trying to resolve the situation. Use a company called Capsol to book accommodation in Capetown. They were brilliant!

Any customer service call takes an hour of wait time. Must be called back,. They dont have answers untill days later. I have had bad service. Took days to verify host had a licence to host in a business location. Host not obligated to message or call back. When checking in found homeless squatter and it takes days to get a refund, and several long wait times between more than 5 calls per issue

I have been using airbnb for quite some time and I like the concept.
Airbnb is however a very interesting company. While they contact me endlessly, there is no way to contact them.
It is a company that for all practical purposes provides NO support.

I wish they stopped bothering me re reviews. I'll write them when they start to provide support.

Tip for consumers:
This is a service for folks who travel for longer periods and that like to set up a "household" where they stay. It has certain advantages and disadvantages relative to hotels.
I have been using them quite often and have been generally pleased.

I booked an Air Bnb two months before the trip in Vancouver, CA. The host cancelled it two weeks before my arrival. Although I received full refund, I now cannot get a hotel at a reasonable cost, because the time is too close. So I have to spent MORE in the end. Not worth the time and money.

Airbnb is a Clown Show! They delete reviews warning of violence, insults, discrimination, theft and financial scams to continue profiting from clueless users. They manipulate prices (up to $200 in many cases) and track your behavior to extort more. When a host scams you, Airbnb ignores everything for days, even if you take the case to the local police. They refuse to delete insults by hosts. They have a racial bias. I have reported 5 hosts to the police and Airbnb awarded 4 of them. Multiple women have also been raped in Airbnb accomodations because many Airbnb hosts are psychopaths and Airbnb does nothing about it despite the many warnings. They keep these women silent by paying them, which is just another form of raping them once again. It is abuse after abuse after abuse... Why is nobody suing this company to the ground or at the very least expelling the CEO?

Did you know when you look at prices in foreign currencies and you go to book, all fees stay the same but the 'service fee' that airbnb charges increase. For example, I booked a room in Japan for a week and the first price was 1900 yen but when I clicked 'confirm booking' the price instantly jumped up to 3507 yen... Total fraud!

And get this, the room I rented wasn't even located in the place mentioned. The address was 3 kilometers away!

Beware!

Tip for consumers:
Many of the hosts advertise elsewhere, I recommend using details written in the profiles and do a search. A lot of the time you can book direct and pay NO fees!!

I booked a home that when I arrived was in a seedy neighborhood with people drinking and hanging out on the corner. I didn't even enter the home. The owner did not answer and the people at Airbnb kept giving me excuses about a refund as I didn't feel safe. The house didn't even look like the picture posted. The bars on the windows of houses next door and the drug deals going on state not a good place to stay but the ad said nice neighborhood. Huh. Not sure if I will ever use this site again and this ruins it for the good hosts

If you are a HOST, airbnb is a great source of income. They only charge the host 3%, which is very low (credit card processing fee) compared to other booking platforms. Use this referral link to score an extra $40 in your pocket with your first booking.
Sign up to host on Airbnb and use the extra income to fund your passions. Here's my invitation link: https://www.airbnb.com/r/tiffanyc8035?s=39&t=131c0j

In short, everything is very convenient. Three times I rented a house on the Canaries, through this service and all the times I was very pleased. It is much cheaper than staying in a hotel, and you can rent a really big house and choose any option that suits you. The only difficulty was in payment - I did not have PayPal - I had to register it.
