“Luxury Redefined with Airbnb Luxe”

SOUMYA RANJAN B.

My experience with Airbnb Luxe was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into my luxurious villa, I was greeted with unparalleled comfort and elegance. Every detail, from the stunning architecture to the impeccable interior design, was thoughtfully curated to create a truly unforgettable experience. The amenities, from private pools to personal chefs, exceeded my expectations and made me feel like royalty. Moreover, the concierge service was exceptional, catering to my every need and ensuring a seamless stay from start to finish. Airbnb Luxe has redefined luxury travel for me, and I can't wait to indulge in another unforgettable experience.

“Worst Experience Ever!”

Amanda N.

Airbnb has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. No support when things go wrong. I didn't feel safe at a place I rented and check in or stay there. They will not refund the full amount. Was promised a $300 refund, then only give $200. The reservation costed $423. I will never book through them again! This has been a nightmare!

Never got to rent but got to inquire about rentals: didn't end up renting becuase I canceled the vacation I was supposed to go on due to having to work. The people were pleasant and friendly. Also it's a safe and secure way to find legitimate rentals. Would come to AirBNB for a short term or vacation rental if I needed one.

Where do I start? I stayed at a "hotel" which turned out to be a commune and the wacked out residents stole my muscle relaxers from an auto accident so I had to go to the UTC with my tail between my legs in Godawful pain to try to get my meds, knowing they probably thought I was making it up. It was Tons-O-Fun. I strongly recommend Airbnb. Also, the land was a trash heap.

We booked a place in Amsterdam with Airbnb. The place worked out fine but when it came to getting our deposit back which they assured us had been done a day after checking out it has been nothing but hassle. They charged my card the full amount and included the deposit and try telling me that they never charged the deposit to the card. My credit card company said they had to do a credit, they couldn't just cancel the part that was the deposit. I must of corresponded with 7 different customer service people who just did not get that concept. It's over 4 months and still not received the $300 deposit back to my card. They said someone of higher position would contact me and they never have. Not worth the hassle if you don't get the deposit back it makes it expensive not a good deal.

I recently booked 2 nights for a Manahatten area condo. I was thrilled to find such a good price for the area. Turns out it was too good to be true. The "host" contacted me minutes after booking to request an additional $500 deposit and wouldn't leave me alone about it. This was not listed in the additional costs section and was not included in the amount that I had already been charged. I cancelled because I didn't feel comfortable. Now I can't get my "service fee" back and there is no customer service phone, email, etc. They just took my money and ran. DO NOT USE THEM unless you feel like taking a huge risk. If you have issues, there won't be anyone to help you. I'm sure there are a few good hosts out there that are actually legit, but how do you know who is who? Very disappointed.

Came to the Tampa, FL area for a 3 week stay for over $2,200. On first getting there the place was dirty, windows overs with old dog prints from animals, old smelly cloths left in washer, dog waste all over the place. Owner stated the place was just clean. A couple days in, cockroaches were found in the kitchen. But that was only the start. The enclosed fence fell down, the shower hose broke. The owner ordered a new shower head, that we had to install, along with a new filter for the A/C. Owner said she would replace fence or make a temporary fix so we could have our animals a place to run without worry. She never showed up. She called pest control and they stated the cockroaches were due to bad conditions in the home and old food. And it was only going to get worse. These were German cockroaches not the palmetto ones. They continued to get worse and got into the fridge and to our children's bed. We had to eat out bc it was so bad and eventually left over a week early because of the conditions. The owner stated the place was trashed before us and said nothing until the cockroaches started to come out. Upon leaving we cleaned and found old beer that dried up under the couch and beer bottle tops and confetti stocked to the floor. The owners reply that she has lived there with the cockroach's for a long period of time before and had no problem. They ca kids are running by they carry diseases and made me sick while there. AirBnB stated they have no policy about cockroaches and could only give us a refund of $8.30 for one night! Absolutely ridiculous!

I went to the airbnb website and typed in my location. However, it point me to spain for sight seeing. I just want to rent a room. But I was unable to search for a room using the search function do I left the site. Apparently it's not for renting rooms anymore. It wased my time.

You better use a hotel and not arrive you destination and find a surprise blus you are not getting your money back. USE American Express to grantee your money. Most of these hosts are not easy to deal with and Airbnb help desk seems like it is in their favor, even though, they are nice but maybe it is company policy

I am zero for two on Airbnb. The host for the first place in New York didn't realize the date and time I was to arrive didn't answer his phone and showed up two hours late (around midnight) after I had booked a hotel room thinking he wasn't going to show up at all. Then, the toilet didn't work for the week and he never came around to fix it. The second place in Jerusalem was very run down and dirty. Both locations had fairly good reviews which I will never understand. I will never use Airbnb again!

Tip for consumers:
Don't ruin your next vacation - use a reputable site.

While on recent travel, I was blocked from navigating the website to tend to business details unless I donated to Black Lives Matter or postponed site usage. What idiots and near sightedness. Further, the service fees on rentals that I considered and/or used was so excessive that the business owners are adversely affected and so was I when I decided to accept them. The AirBnB fees change the advertised rate so much, that the final cost can be almost unrecognizable.

I rented an apartment in Reykjavik, Iceland for 3 nights. The host had nothing but positive reviews and advertising a "quiet residential neighborhood". From the moment we unlocked the door, there was construction noise from a nearby street (jackhammering) all day. When that finally stopped, the upstairs neighbors started banging all night as if they had their own construction site going on upstairs. I tried to let it go the first night and didn't say anything. Then it happened again the second night until 3am. Then again the 3rd night when I finally said something at midnight. The host didn't take any responsibility and Airbnb asked me for "documentation". Then I wrote a negative review about the noise and they never posted it. It's rigged to make them money and avoid negative reviews. Beware! I'll never use Airbnb again.

Much like many of the others on this review site, I too had a trip planned to NYC July 2020. We have several of us who are now unemployed and are at high risk, but that doesn't phase any one at Airbnb and or the host who rent their houses out. My state has a mandatory 2 week quarantine if you travel to and or from NYC. I find it utterly appalling that during such a time as this when literally EVERYONE is having to make changes due to this crisis that a company such as AIRBNB would not accommodate everyone effected by this crisis. I will NEVER use them again. We have lost out on $1100. 00 which is very much needed at a time like this. I am very upset and frustrated with the lack of compromise and compassion AIRbnb has shown the people who bring in the money. AIRBNB if your reading you should be ashamed at your business practices.

The first and last time I booked with airbnb turned out to be an intolerablesituation. Although I explained to the hostess that I work from my laptop all day long and after work, am very much a loner. She would insist upon entering my room while I was working, asking me to leave the door open which I can't because of the confidential nature of my job and kept trying to engage me in unwanted conversation. I took to bringing in food I could keep & eat in my room and dash out the door after work when I could hear she was in a different part of the house. She wouldn't even let me run my little fan at night because she claimed it used a lot of electricity. I got so stressed from being there that I looked for somewhere else to stay so I could have some peace. When I contacted airbnb customer service they let me know I was pretty much stuck... so I left 2 wks early & still had to pay that 2 weeks. I will never again use airbnb nor recommend it to anyone.

AirBnB does not care about it's customers. I had a trip canceled due to COVID and AirBnB would not issue any refund or credit for a future stay. They basically made $1500 on me. Delta, on the other hand, issued a refund for the ticket and was very helpful. I will stick to travel services that work with customers and treat them well - as Delta Airlines did.

DO NOT RENT THROUGH AIRBNB! I rented a cabin in Pigeon Forge TN called the Game Changer, owned by James. The first night there we discovered a major bedbug infestation! We immediately went home and had to throw out luggage and car seats. Our damages totaled about $3,000 spread across 2 families. I reported our problem to the owner, who referred me to Airbnb resolution center for compensation. After jerking me around for weeks, they denied my claim and offered to compensate us for just a laundry bill which didn't even exist! I will never stay at a Airbnb property again! They should be shut down due to how they treat paying customers!

Airbnb said they were offering their hosts a 25% refund for any cancellations due to Covid beginning in March. I have been hosting on the Airbnb site for many, many years. They told me I had 3 qualifying cancellations. After contacting them by email and phone I was told numerous times my refund was being processed. In August I was told my refund would be sent in September because they were behind. I contacted them again today because I got nothing from them. Now I was told the program ended in July and I wasn't getting anything. They are liars, scammers and dishonest. They only advertised that refund to hosts to get free publicity. TERRIBLE!

Checked into an Airbnb that smelled so bad it made me physically ill and had to leave, owner said it could even be a gas leak! The hosts of course did not want to refund me for whole stay, only a small part. Tried to communicate with an Airbnb case manager which went awfully. This person was only available to talk on the phone between 1am and 5am, when I am sleeping, and ignored my attempts to even try and coordinate a time to speak on the phone. Every time they replied to an email the details I provided from previous correspondences would change making it even more frustrating. The case manager did give me a credit but it is still not the amount I wanted, I am paying for a place I never stayed in. They said I had no proof of the smell... they asked I provide photos of the odor... a clear odor... Used Airbnb with friends before with no problem, but with such awful customer service I will likely never use again

I booked a place in Prague 4 months in advance, had great rapport with the host and get an email in my junk file stating I was getting a refund. Called customer support (which was not listed on their website). Truns out my account was suspended 5 days before my arrival so i could not contact my host or book another reservation. They couldn't give me an explanation as to why my account was suspended, now im wating for an email from the "back office"

We have a 2 months reservation starting June 1st which is currently 1 day beyond what Airbnb covers as COVID-19 policy. Our host posted a very stringent cancellation policy which allows to be fully refunded only 48 hours after reserving. Airbnb is holding our money, not the host. However, Airbnb will NOT return your money unless the host cooperates, unless it falls within cancellation policy. Do not book with heavy cancellation policies if you cannot forsee the future. Airbnb will not back you up if you feel unsafe to travel.

We are hosting Airbnb for about 2 months now and honestly we couldn't been happier. Its a very organized company, lots of help, website is super straightforward with lots of helping tips. The money were deposited as promised and all the guests were lovely people. We plan to continuing hosting Airbnb clients and use Airbnb as guests as long as we can.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of staying at Carol Edelberg's B&B located in Mowbray just 10 minutes out of Port Douglas. This was a nice B&B. The rooms were big, the beds very comfortable, and we had a lot of privacy. Carol was a great hostess, she has been a local for over 25 years so provided us with great tips on where to go and what to do. At the end of the day we really appreciated coming home and jumping into the big beautiful swimming pool. But what I really liked about staying at Carols was how close I was to nature - with the house sitting at the top of a ridge we were able to observe a variety of wildlife, that sometimes I felt like I was sitting in a tree house.
If your looking for a slower pace and peace and quite, I strongly recommend staying at Carol's place.

New to Airbnbn - seemed like a good idea, created a profile, uploaded some pics, gained a couple of reservations for the summer - some nice conversations with the potential guests - then, whammo. "Virtual ID" - online verification process. Profile frozen, guests' money already taken from their credit cards - and nearly a week with no response from the company. Well, I've got a great place to rent, I'll advertise elsewhere, and Airbnbn just lost a customer.

I stayed at Amber and Guido's BNB in Myrtle Beach. I loved the homey atmosphere. Amber and Guido are very warm and welcoming. They treated me like family and went over and above board to make me feel comfortable and indulged my every whim. I really enjoyed my stay with Amber snd Guido and will definitely return. With this review I would like to warn home owners who are renting out their accomodation through Airbnb.Over a decade I have listed my 2 houses on Airbnb. In my settings I always use the "first enquiry before official confirmation of the rental agreement". This weekend I suddenly got an instant booking on a period which was impossible for renting out. For some reason the settings were changed to "Instant" booking. So I had to cancel the booking. For this I got a € 188,- penalty from AIRBNB.

My first thought was that this for sure was a mistake by Airbnb. But...their final comment is that I am the only one able to change settings. And so I made the change... and have to pay this rather strange fine.

I did some investigation which shows that suddenly also my offline houses were all changed to "instant booking." As being not a real handy guy in changing settings. (It will take a day for me to find where to make such a change) I am quite sure that it was not me who made these changes. I can not prove it but with this the warning to all homeowners to check if their settings are suddenly changed and perhaps respond to this review as I have a strong impression Airbnb does change settings. The reason for it is obvious. Either to gain extra profit by rental fees or by giving penalties for cancellations.

AirBnB sucks! Just a warning to all of you who are thrilled about AirBnB like I was. I wait for 700 EUR for a cancelled booking since over a month. No response from AirBnB customer service. And I have to pay 10 % (i. E. 80 EUR) service fee to AirBnB (my host sees nothing of this money) despite cancelling 1 month in advance.

Tip for consumers:
it's ok if you just go for 1 or 2 nights somewhere. but for longer ... I'd suggest to use a different service
