Roman and Alex did a great job with my move. They were efficient and careful with my items. The price was fair and the service was excellent
I scheduled a duct/vent cleaning service through Angi last week. I wanted them to pick the contractor, just a qualified person, and they gave me a reasonable quote. I accepted. I got a confirmation of a match (the first on Friday October 4 at 8:41 am) for today - October 10, at 8 am. Later that same day, I got a second confirmation at 5:12 pm. I was puzzled at this, but OK. On Monday, October 7, I got a third confirmation at 11:55 am. Puzzled, I went online and looked at my booking, and yes, there was the named contractor - I sent him a message basically just acknowledging that I knew he was my contractor. All looked fine - and I spent a lot of time on Tuesday moving furniture and other stuff so there was clear access to every vent, vacumed each room, cleared pathways from any doorway they might need to use, etc. At 6:15 am - I get a text that my booking starts at 8:00 am. Then at 7:30 am, I get a text message that "unfortunately we were unable to match you with a top-rate pro for your service... we have rescheduled you for Sunday October 13 at 3 pm...". Thirty minutes notice that NO ONE was going to show for an appointment confirmed right through yesterday. I cancelled that booking, and now they won't let me write an honest review, because I didn't actually "hire" the contractor! So my honest review goes here. I will hire someone else, because Angi has wasted a good bit of my time, and I have no confidence at all that anyone will show up on Sunday either.
We tried to use this service and their so-called experts never showed up. On four separate occasions in 3 weeks when it was verfied that someone would show up; they did not. Each time they were going to escalate and make sure it never happens again. Each time they failed us! Lousy service from a company that does nothing to check the experience of its handymen. What a joke.
With the old Angie's List, I could easily peruse the ratings of the local businesses in my area and contact my choices. Now, I have far less control. They pick the selections. I couldn't figure out how to see more. But my biggest beef: My contact information was given out without my consent to others not on the list provided. I started getting flooded with calls from contractors who heard that I was looking for a certain job to be done. I did not know these businesses, nor did I want to hear from them. I'm no longer using them.
This review is for anyone using Angie's list as a lead generator. They lie out of the gate to get you signed up and then charge you for leads you never contacted. I was told that leads would be exclusive and that I would have to accept the leads to be charged. This is false. They also send the leads to as many contractors as they can and charge every single one of them a fee regardless if you do the job or not. Be careful if you work with Angie's list as they will tell you one thing and do something totally different. Do yourself a favor and search for companies yourself and give the money to small Businesses. Angie's list takes from small businesses.
Today I had my home power washed by RENEW Exterior Cleaning Service. I cannot say enough good things about them. It had been3 years since I was able to get this done and it was desperately needed. Mr Larry Brunson and his Son cleaned my home back to "like new". The price was fantastic. The attention to detail impeccable. Communication with myself was great prior/ during and at completion. Arrived at time promised and even cleaned my patio. I am SO HAPPY! Give them a try.
Do not use Angie's list. I contracted for my front light to be replaced. I don't think this guy was a professional at all. A few months later my light looks as if it's about to fall. Now I have to find someone to fix it before it fall on someone. Tried to call Angie's after work was done to complain about the work. Good luck! No response
Very professional and well mannered. Had a great experience getting services provided as she did an amazing job cleaning my home. She also provided driveway power washing. Everything was at a great price.
I have used Angi for a number of jobs, but my most recent experience has been terrific for our hardwood flooring project. We had five qualified, quality companies provide us with onsite estimates (any one of them would have been terrific), and it was honestly hard to choose. Our project was done flawlessly by the company we chose. We will be following up with them again for the next phase of our project.
As for information, recommendations and advice, Angi can't be beat. I love the monthly newsletter/magazine and all of the info that is available on the website. It's awesome!
I used a contractor recommended by Angi, this contractor was supposed to install new sod at my house. This contractor proceeded to take my money and never return, would not return calls or emails to my self or Angi. They said we had to use an arbitration service provided by them to get a refund, they neglected to mention that the contractor also had to be willing. So then they said we had to wait for management to convene to decide about our case. As of today its been almost two months after we paid the contractor and they informed us that they are unable to give a refund for services and we need to contact the contractor directly for a refund... as if that had not already been tried by us and Angi's. Honestly its not even that much money $1200 roughly, but its the medical bills of my asthmatic wife that have piled up after having a dirt patch instead of a yard. Honestly use any other site.

Dont use Angi at all

If you're a new or growing business, this will be the single worst mistake you could make for your business. By the time you find out that there's dozens of options for exponentially less money, you'll be 6 months into a year contract with a terrible cancellation policy.
Do not be confused, this company does not care about your company.
They care about milking money from you while providing a $#*! service.
Look around in your industry and there will be dozens of better alternatives.
I wouldn't touch Angi with a 10 foot pole

Avoid it at all costs

This is a dumpster fire company. Great communication until they got my deposit and then nothing. Over a month and no one even got back to me about getting on a schedule. Over another month trying to cancel the work and no communication whatsoever. 10/10 would never recommend this company to my worst enemy.

I have tried Angi for over a year now for our flooring business. We did receive some good leads, but you definitely have to sift through A LOT of crap leads to get any decent ones. I would call people and they would ask how I got their number, they never asked for services I was providing. I would receive leads that were not the same person on the leads. So many leads didn't even answer their phone or messages but cost upwards of $100/lead! We were basically throwing money away left and right. I called many times to see how they could assist and they would give credits or pause leads etc. It was basically putting a band-aid on the bigger problem which was they were selling people's information unknowingly. I would not be happy knowing that my information was being put out there for tons of people to see and then dealing with the endless calling of contractors simply trying to help.
I had a leaky faucet. They sent out a handyman who said he could manage the job, but would have to come back as the job would longer than anticipated. Angi charged me $300+ for his opinion. Left within 5 minutes. I called to complain, they sent another man out, insisting this man would be an experienced plumber. Another handyman. He was a bit better than the first, however, he told me I needed some new parts, even helped me order them, told me to call when they came in and he would come install them. I lifted several messages and he never called back. The only positive thing is that Angi agreed to refund my payment. So I did what I should have...I called a real plumber. I will NEVER book with Angi again.
Anytime I needed a repairman Angie has come through for me almost immediately! I would rather have multiple calls from people who are willing to help me then waiting for someone on my own. Angie seems to be very prompt and persistent at getting people the help they need. Angi also seems to know who is available so issues can be addressed as quickly as possible.
Angie's list promised to provide job leads for a flat yearly fee. However it ended up charging hundreds of dollars just for clicking on each job lead! When we called the job leads either nobody answered, we got a voicemail, or the person who answered said they didn't need anybody anymore. Angie's automatically withdrew the fees. No contract, no disclosures, it is a complete scam. When we reported their scam to the bank and got the undisclosed fees returned by the bank, we ended up getting a collection's letter with threats of additional interest and fees. Now we don't know how to dispute the collection letter because their services of job leads is a complete scam. There are several reviews of their scam and how they've been taken to court. Completely dishonest.
Tip for consumers:
Don't sign up for their services! Absolutely do not give them any information about your business or credit card accounts or bank accounts. They simply milk your account with their fees and the job leads are false. The job links are just an excuse to deduct hundreds or thousands of dollars from your account. Then if you call them for information they charge more fees.

Person came with a regular drill, not the heavy duty equipment that was required. He didn't know what to do. Job was not complete d. Angi will only give us a 50% credit. This is no good to us because we will never use Angi again. It took an hour on hold for that.
Scheduled through angie. Charged my credit card almost 800.00. Contractor called and couldn't come out for scheduled date due to rain. Asked me to reschedule through the app. I did that and two pros showed up
One didn't even have a ladder. Second one did a good job but need a 400.00 payment at completion. When i complained to Angie they said i would have call back and request a refund of the difference. NEVER AGAIN
Tip for consumers:
Don't use Angie

Peace of Mind Plumbing of Charlotte, N.C. Is by far the the most honest and fairly priced company that I have come across in the 35 years that I have been a landlord. Recently while I was servicing one of my rental units at my Charlotte location after receiving so many overpriced quotes I contacted peace of mind plumbing. Rick came out and did an amazing job at an amazing price! He not only took care of my problem but corrected an error a previous plumber had made at little or no cost. I was beyond pleased with the service performed and price! If you call anyone else you will overpay! Highly recommended!
This company is horrible! They charged our account $700 for just using their app! We were told we were only going to be charged $15 per service we did from their lists! That however didn't happen! They charged us for every person who sent an alert to us! They lied and then didn't want to pay back what they owe me! We saw 4 clients from their list thats it! I wouldn't recommend any company use them! They will try to steal your money! We are a lawn service who lost a lot of money!
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use them! All they do is steal your money! Charge you for unnecessary charges!

We used them to try to get clients for our small side business
These guys charge 30 per lead and when asked to provide proof to show the customers have actually applied for service they refuse to give it. Nobody answers the phone on the lead and they won't credit you the money back for i
I strongly caution you about this group. After paying $287/yr to join, I received my first 2 leads at $107 each. NEITHER person returned my calls or emails. Angi Leads won't refund those charges because it's "just part of the business". I received 2 more leads and was able to finally have them credited because (1) their charge was more than the cost of the job and (2) the person just wanted a quote so they could make plans for the future. Run far and run fast!
Had AC installed in my son's home by Sprowls Mechanical. Very professional from beginning to end, every thing they referenced to the order of work was written and in detailed. Prompt on arrival the day of service and completed in a timely manner. If and when I had to call to make a change for any reason, I always received a return call back by the owner, Chester within a few minutes.
Great customer service and as my son stated an awesome group of guys. I would definitely recommend their service.
We tried to do expert assembly of our gym equipment purchased through Walmart. After 4 attempts to get someone out here over the course of 2 weeks, the equipment is still nowhere near completely assembled. The first person who showed up had no idea what they were doing and gave up. The second person who showed up claimed the first person put the base together wrong and tried to scam us into paying an additional $50/hour. The other two times we tried to reschedule - the people never showed up. Every time we call the customer support center (all outsourced), they are extremely unhelpful and the only solution they come up with is to keep rescheduling. Note that the closest rescheduled appointment is 2 days later every time. They are also giving us a hard time to cancel altogether. Angi is absolutely ridiculous - NEVER pay for "expert assembly" - no experts, or even professionals for that matter, will come.
Windows done right!
We had our original 1978 windows in our home. They were out dated & completely inefficient. We looked around for windows and were really impressed with what *Improve It* hadn't offer & the affordability. We went from 21 leaky, out dated inefficient, unreliable windows to 11 GORGEOUS big open, beautiful sun giving windows! No more plastic on our windows! Easy to open & close, safety locks, tempered because of the ginormous size, safe & easy to clean! Win, Win!
The crew was AMAZING! Not to mention how professional and courteous they were! All while working around and with 2 small children in the home. Fast, efficient, professional & gorgeous!
We loved our experience enough to share with our family who just had their old windows replaced!
Next project, BATHROOM! These guys go WELL above & beyond! Impressive!
We were an Angie's List customer for several years, and noticed their approach and customer service mentality changed a year or two ago. They are now owned by Home Adivsor, and unfortunately have taken the Home Advisor approach of offering a lot, delivering a little, and constantly increasing the rates.
If you are a business owner, stay away. I have no luck getting contacted by any customer service rep, only by salespeople wanting to sell us something new. Stay away!
Our septic line backed up on Thanksgiving morning with guests coming for dinner that afternoon. The plumber was there in less than two hours and had our water running again by early afternoon. He came back the next morning to finish the job by installing a new pump in our septic line. The plumber explained everything clearly and was very respectful of our schedule and our need to have functioning sinks and bathrooms on Thanksgiving.
