Angi (formerly Angie's List)

A more intrusive, difficult to use program never existed. Incessant demands to install their stupid app... cannot review communications online, only thru app... online site is for searching for providers and nothing else... Cancelling Angi and will never use again. Definitely not as good as Angie's List was.

Overall experience was fantastic. One note: Since this was my 1st time using Anji i'm not sure once a contractor has been hired that there is a way to keep other contractors from contacting me. I had several other contractors contact me well after I hired the contractor.

As the property manager of a condominium complex that had serve hail damage to our roofs, I filed an insurance claim and hired XL Contractors to replace all of our roofs and to also be our advocate to deal with our insurance company. Because of XL Contractors we were able to settle our claim and get all of our roofs replace for just the cost of our insurance policy deductible. XL Contractors and their roofing crew did an absolutely great job. Their roofing crew was extremely polite and courteous, did an excellent job of installing the new roofs, and were very conscious of cleaning up behind themselves. I fully recommend XL Contractors for your roofing needs, as well as siding and gutter needs also. They kept me advised every step of the way as this worked it's way through the insurance claim process. Excellent company and contractor for all your needs. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Great company and great people for your needed project.

Angies List is a scam. Had a review enter against our company, The negative review was not intended for our company but rather a handyman service. Explained the problem to Angies List and nothing, didn't take a minute to look into. Instead a pushy salesman asked to sign up for leads for $600.00 per month. No background checks no work history. Just $600.00 and if I pay more even more leads. No screening at all. Not at all what they advertise.

As a business we have gotten some jobs from them, but 75% of the jobs we receive are misaligned with the services we provide. Angi Leads does not refund us for the majority of these. They also make you choose from too broad of categories. This is one reason why we get misaligned leads. I've asked them to make simple changes like providing more categories, but they choose not to. They make more money forcing businesses into broad categories. The fees add up quickly and almost put us out of business. If you are a business look for leads elsewhere.

Painter quoted $650.00 for 2 small rooms and trim painting. I told him I wanted 2 coats on the walls--he did not follow instructions and was very rude to me. Did a terrible job and demanded cash would not take a check. He refused to give me a receipt. I was very intimidated by him when he showed up for the job (he was very nice when he gave the estimate). I provided everything including drop cloths which he did not cover the carpet with and got paint on my printer. He did not replace my bookcase. He left a mess for me to clean up.

One word... FANTASTIC! Hector was everything that you'd wish your next contractor had, he's... courteous, thoughtful, knowledgable but don't let the baby face fool you, this young man has got some chops... he earned them with his hard work and dedication! Don't look any further... hire him, you wouldn't regret it, I promise you that!

AL is only benefits AL and no one else. I got an offer for a job and paid through AL but it's only refundable within 30 days. Well, the contractor was smart and told me that nothing was available within 30 days. I was stuck. The offer was for 2 workers, I got one worker showed up! AL won't do anything about it unless I pay them $99 to be a gold member before they would even consider to mediate. TERRIBLE company. Do not TRUST.

This is by far the best company have used, I've been in property management for over 20years, mb22 was professional on time and did a detailed work, I'll continue to use them for all my future services. Thank you!

Louis Breton immediately called, estimated job after visiting, Texted agreed price, materials, labor. I sent 1/2 payment, as soon as he received, he began work. He even had some expensive Azak wood left over and replaced a small portion of garage board that he found rotted. He went above and beyond my expectations of a great handy man with excellant carpentry skills. He took lots of pictures, texted me at every point and very responsible. HIGHLY recommend him

Ed did a great job explaining and responding via texts and phone calls at late hours! Water line was repaired. Unfortunately due to large frontyard tree, there was no way to do it trenchless, and front yard had to be dug up (my home's fault, nothing A1 Pro could have done differently or better). Thank you Ed!

I couldn't find this business on Angis List, so I wrote it in. Cary is not your usual yard, pond, or stone work guy. He's a true artiste. He will use salvaged materials to save you money, go to any lengths to make you happy, but really, give him a loose leash and he'll create something beyond your wildest dreams. So glad we found him. I don't have photos because I have them all to Cary. Ask him about the ones of Dr Leesa Azar & Dr Charles Gallia's place. I can't take new ones because Charles & I are divorced.

I got chuck 's construction from your company and he came in to repair a pipe and broke another one and didn't say a word and he is the only one that been back there and I heard a loud noise and he said it was nothing but he was soaking wet he left in hurry it was the connected to the water company meter. He called and stated he would repair it and I have not heard from him again. He is trying to take advantage of a female and senior

I have been trying to cancel my account with Angi for months. I can never get my rep on the phone, & he never responds to my emails. Customer service says he's the only one that can cancel it. The leads I have received have been either out of state and/or entirely fake leads. They continuously charge my card $300 per month. This has been a terrible experience, would not recommend.

I tried hiring Angi's Home Advisor services for a move-in cleaning. First try, cleaner went MIA on me. I suspected it had something to do with Angi's app playing 3rd party. Second try, cleaner had me waiting 3.5 almost 4 hours with a litany of reasons (excuses?) from needing to pick up a steamer, to being stuck in an accident, to filling gas. We now believe they never intended to show up and were trying to scam us in a twisted way. Never again; I'd much rather pay 2x for a local cleaner recommended on major apps like Yelp or Google.

I haven't been a member at angies list for a couple of years. I suddenly get a renewal charge on my credit card.
I called AL to inquire and cancel but their recording states 'phone service not included in my subscription'.
I received a robot message from AL later stating that I had an automatic renewal silver membership (not free) good 'til 2018 - - no refund available. Stay away from this company - just money grubbers. No service! Just human to computer! They will screw you however they can!

This company is a fraud! Do not use. They do not communicate correct pricing. I was charged by Angi over $230+ for a dog door install plus had to pay the contractor another $575+. This job shouldn't have been more than $400.

I hired Shelton Painting in Richfield, MN to do extensive interior painting on the interior walls of the main level of my rambler town home, as well as the stairwell leading down to a finished basement. They also painted the ceilings of two foyers, one bedroom, the great room and the sunroom. The rooms painted included the laundry room, kitchen, great room, sunroom, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. My home is now so clean and beautiful. I would not hesitate to ask this company to do painting in my home again. The cost was fair. The team of three painters was knowledgeable, hard-working, efficient and pleasant. And Todd Shelton could vie for the award of fine business management. He is an honest man and respects other people, which earn high marks in my estimation.

As a business owner, DON'T sign up for this company, Angi Ads is a complete scam.We paid about $300 per month for our membership and get little to no leads or costumers. We tried to cancel but there is a fee of $1,000 that we need to pay if we want to cancel. They make empty promises about giving you a load of new customers monthly, so as a new company we thought is was an amazing idea. Worst business decision I've ever made. Huge mistake on my part, but I really hope this business goes under for all the business owners that they have screwed over like me.

Outstanding service from initial scheduling of the appointment, updates when workman was arriving and timely arrival of pro. Michael was very polite and in well-marked truck with clean uniform and facemask in place. He removed his shoes without asking upon arrival. Able to diagnose the issue right away and explained the problem to me. He quickly made the trip to the store to get the part needed. He completed the repair promptly and effectively. Cleaned up after the job. Couldn't ask for more from a company providing a service to its customer! Highest endorsement to hire Huff Plumbing. Thank you for taking such great care of me!
