Angi (formerly Angie's List)

I would definitely recommend Randy's Electric. Ben replaced a light fixture and replaced two electrical outlets. He explained issues I should be aware of re: electrical wiring in my house. Ben was very professional, competent and friendly. Ben also wore shoe coverings and a face mask (Covid) which I appreciated.

The best thing about Angi is that when I have a need, I post the need and the Pros in the area respond. It saves me time from researching them on Google, but I can do additional research if I want to. I did have one bad experience with a basement "pro" who refused to respond to my calls/messages when his product proved faulty and I am now suing him but he has two other positive reviews on the site and none no where else. I will make sure that he is reviewed on Google and other places so that others won't have to go through what I went through.

Angi has given me multiple fake leads, charging me $20-$30 per lead. When I tried to ask for refund for a lead outside my area of expertise, a faceless bureaucracy sends form letters saying, sorry your refund is refused and we won't tell you why.
Lying, cheating and stealing from small contractors, Angi List is another uncaring, money-grubbing large Corporation.

I had agent call me every other week to ask me if I wanted to activate my account I told him I'm not ready to do any work yet he said that fine put your account on hold for a month and call you back one morning I check my bank account 616.84 is taken out of my account they said they have been sending me leads I've never clicked on any leads never responded or reached out to any leads didn't do any work through those leads they a rip off company I'll never do business with them they refuse to refund my money scumbags

I signed up for Angie Leads 2 months ago and have continuously received calls and made calls to tell them to take grass cutting off of my account due to the fact that I DO NOT CUT GRASS. Nothing was ever done about it and all the leads I received were for grass cutting. They charged me over $800 dollars for said "leads", that I don't do, without any warning and no emails or phone calls about it. They refuse to refund half of it back to me and said the only thing they could do would be to give me a $200 credit towards their services which I already cancelled. Such a scam! Nothing different from all the nasty things Home Advisor does. They changed their name and branched from Home Advisor but are just the same. Seems like they were just trying to escape the nasty reviews to screw more people over.

I was very happy with the referrals Angi.com offered and extremely satisfied with the work done by Silver Hammer Home Services, Inc.
However, I was frustrated and very displeased by the constant flow of emails and phone calls from Angi.com, checking on the work done and progress. Ridiculous that I received so many calls and emails within a days of contacting Angi.com - don't you realize that these projects take time for planning, scheduling? Give people a chance and wait at least 2 weeks before your barrage of emails/phone calls start in.

We had John Nelson come to our house today to do some work and he showed up earlier then expected and did a wonderful job. Have a new ceiling fan - faucets - and he worked on my dead bolt. We are very pleased with everything. So glad I found him on Angies List - he was the first one to call me back and gave a great quote. I will be using him and recommending him to other people. Thank you so much.

Gbc provided thoughtful help from kind designers and delivered a high quality and super stylish product. There a was a slight miscommunication/error about the order and they fixed it unequivocally. The shipping does take a while, so plan accordingly, but it's very worth the wait. Thanks Gbc!

I was pursued by Angies list for several years and I finally decided to try them out. I was promised at least 3 leads a month and the most important part was that they were going to be within 15 minutes on my home so I would not have far to travel. I gave them 5 months and most of the leads they gave me were an hour away. They other 2 were 20 minutes and 1 didn't respond to my mesage. I have filed a complaint with the Nj State Attorney General because the account manager doesn't answer and I cant seem to be able to get him no the phone.

I was Misled into paying for this service believing that Angi would be responsible for the people they certified.
In reality, Angi's services amounted to the same as taking my chances with a phonebook.

I signed up for their services because they claimed that my project would be completed by their Certified Professionals.
This did not happen. The Angi Pro took my Deposit and disappeared!

Angi claims they will help you negotiate with Contractors, but what they don't say is that the Contractor/Pros have to agree to negotiate.
If the Contractors says "no" or as in my case just disappears
Angi and Home Advisor stops right there. They say there's nothing they can do.

Please don't waste time and money on Angi or Home Advisor
You're not getting what you think you're paying for.

Carmine and the entire team are great. They kept me posted on every step of my repair. Supplied a loaner car for me to drive and returned my car to my home clean and with appreciation gifts inside. Exceptional service. I will certainly refer and continue to use them for any and all services needed.

Angi totally let me down. I was notified 2 hour prior to my scheduled carpet cleaning service that I had scheduled weeks in advance! That's total BS! I needed to get my carpets cleaned prior to moving out of our rental and Angi totally screwed me!

Had Karl replace my old gutters all around my garage. He was prompt in responding, and began work immediatlely. His price was more than reasonable. This guy with assistant Timmy are professional hard workers who do a bang up job. I waited for a good rain before I wrote my review, and I must report their job was 100% successful. Couldn't be more pleased! Call The Gutter Guy for all your gutter needs!

So i signed on with them and they are charging for leads for handyman when the person needs a mechanic or a broke tv screen or one single set of blinds put up when the price of lead doesnt even match labor cost to hang for them. Worst idea ever and dpnt believe anything they say when u sign up with them!

I used to use Angie's List (Angi) all the time when it would list providers and reviews. I could call the ones I wanted to and ignore those I did not want to talk to. Now, Angi controls who contacts me. And I can't find reviews. Despite this, I used the site when my dryer stopped working. Angi quoted $420 to repair it without knowing what the issue was. What if it only took 20 minutes to fix? I would pay the trip fee plus parts, which is likely to be far less.

Angi's salesperson gave me "a fixed price" for my appliance repair over the phone and promised I won't be charged until the job is done. What happened 2 minutes later? 1) I was charged immediately; 2) The charge was much higher than the quote they gave me on the phone which I think is almost the criminal behavior; 3) When I called their customer service, I was transferred 5-6 times and nobody would actually help me. 4) I canceled the service and submitted a claim with my credit card company. It took about the entire morning of my time to handle all these. I wish I read those 1-star reviews before I talked to them. So I am writing down my experience and hope it would help others.

Just a matter of time before they get you. They randomly charge me when they want. Not only that but these customer think they getting something special. They don't screen these contractors, they just charge them. They don't care who's working for them. Use caution when using these people. They took 300 from me and just laughed about it.

Easy to leave review - website is well done. Steps are easy to follow. It's nice to be able to relate your experiance with a contractor - good or bad - for other users' to see and make informed decisions.

Attempted multiple times to Angi.com, unsuccessfully, phoned and got referrals, guy came but never finished, unable to find my job on web, so called, they couldn't find my request. I was left hanging with a poor service provider and no support from Angi! Very angry and frustrated. Never use Angi again.

When talking to a sales person from angie adds. They give you a price per lead. I decided to move forward. However I did not see the price per lead on the contract. I asked to confirm the price and where would I see it in writing. The sales woman said after you sign up then we will show you in print the prices. Once i was set up, they immediately send you leads@ many times the said price per lead. When i brought this up to the sales rep. She said she didn't understand why the cost difference and we set up an appointment to call me back with information. She never called back and now wont return my call. Careful if you need to use these people. They went from 45 per lead to 225.

My old electric panel was a dangerous Federal Pacific. I knew it had to be replaced when I bought the house. My generator had never worked when the power went out. It wasn't old. Installed wrong in the first place. Mike replaced the old panel and all the circuit breakers and fixed the generator, too. Very careful with the work. I had been afraid it would be terribly expensive but turned out to be reasonable.
This man is truly an expert.

I'm a contractor just researching places to bring in a little more work. I tried signing up with Angie's list and they were so pushy and rude, saying and texting me things I wouldn't even say to someone I didn't like. They are all about the money and don't care about contractors or qualifications or the customers. The area manager was saying disrespectful things about my wife and family who he never even met or even knows.

Years ago, when we were members of Angies List and paid a member fee, the usefullness of reviews was very good. Users left reviews with good descriptions of what had been done and detail about how the work went. Now it is mostly useless bla bla, I am sorry to say.
