Angi (formerly Angie's List)

As a business, do not even think about joining Angie's List. You will be so sorry! You will either get charged for fake leads or, if you fall for their monthly subscription, they'll promise you a certain amount of leads per month in which they will not even get you 2% of what they promise to deliver. I promise you, you will spend at least 10 times whatever jobs they get you.

How much sense does it make to pay 10 times more money on leads than you will make off of these leads?!

Angi Leads (formerly HomeAdvisor) is an unethical and dishonest company. I've been charged hundreds of dollars for leads I did not accept5 (some were in completely different areas of expertise). They will say you have the option to accept or reject leads but your don't. Once you receive a lead you will be charged immediately (usually more than you were quoted) even if you're not interested, or it's not your line of work. When we signed up we were told we would only be charged for leads we accepted. Not so. The rep I spoke with said you don't have the ability to reject a lead, even if you're too busy. This is a terrible company and if you're thinking of signing up with them, don't.

I used Angi to find a contractor to mount a TV. He did a horrible job. It was a frame TV. I wanted the wiring behind the wall and by an outlet. He put the opening directly under the TV and charged me an additional $80. I paid him by Venmo when he demanded it. When I contacted Angi, they said according to the terms and conditions I was not supposed to pay him via Venmo, so I am out that money. They sent this man and he is supposed to be screened by them. This term is buried in their terms of service. He is contracted by them. He knows the rules. Never again.

Went to Angi looking for housekeeping services and after a few easy questions I was lined up with several options. The first one on the list got back to me quickly and I was able to make an appointment with them right away - their services were excellent and reasonably priced. I will go to Angi again when I need services!

We had dealt with Angie's List several years ago, but they did not have a category for our business, which is metal roofing. We stopped using them because we got a lot of calls for asphalt roofs and spam. Then they called and told us they had a new category for metal roofing, which we found out later was a bold-faced lie. Stephanie Hazlett, the customer service representative, said she would have an investigation done and that we would have results in 30 days. 120 days later, nothing was done. LeeAnn Greisl was the customer service person who told me that metal roofing was now a category and that she would give us a special deal to get us back. We got no metal roof leads, just asphalt and spam. This has been the worst experience for advertising yet. Stay away from them!

Booked a service. Lawn Mowing, Weed around the trees, the mailbox, the house and garage. Edge along the driveway and sidewalk. Quoted $86.00. Arrival time is 8:00am. Approximately 2 hour job? I question that, our yard is a little over 1500 sq ft. But their the Pro's. It's now 2 hours past the time the Pro's were supposed to show up, so I call the number provided by Angi's and the number is a non working number. I emailed Angi's, because the customer service number just rings. Big Mistake on my part, Huge, huge mistake. Why can't folks be honest? Is it that hard? Today is July 1st,

Once I listed the services I needed, I appreciated when the contractors called within a reasonable time and were responsible to my needs and did not try to oversell unneeded services. Herr Plumbing coordinated the New Shower and it was not slapping the new over old for an unreasonable price. Their service, quality and installation, in my opinion, was not over rated and for a small local company and they stood out over the Big Box, as advertised on TV, specialty stores. Service was beyond compare excellent!

All positive and on the up and up. I would definitely hire Arturo again. With all of the shoddy contractors masquerading around in WPB, he was really a very pleasant surprise. He brings an old school mentality with him to work and tries to outdo the competition and be the best. I appreciate that kind of attitude in a young man nowadays.

Their reviews are fake they and sell leads to contractors. They do no vetting of contractors either for ability, competency or fair business practice. You are more likely to get a bad contractor through Angi as the contractors they deal with pay them for leads.

I purchased a desk and purchased assembly. Well I had appointment for Sunday at 130.30 minutes before said appointment time, I received text saying that because of a call out I was being rescheduled to Thursday. The assember arrived, and after about an hour and half, he informed me that it was going to take at least another hour. He let them know, and then I received text stating that it would be an additional charge. REALLY!
Big time SCAM! I contracted for one price, not an hourly wage.
Never will use Angi services again.

I have been with Angie's list for over 98 years. I have not signed a contract with them for 2 years. I decided to cancel my advertising since I was not receiving any leads or reviews. When I asked to cancel, I was told I would have to pay 35% for the remainder months on my contract. What Contract? I have not signed a contract written or verbal for over 2 years. I am very disappointed with Angie's list policies and their failure to contact me when my contract needed to be renewed.

Angies List is a complete scam that disguises themselves as a great company. I feel bad for the people that choose them for anything. They are a complete joke, and don't even get me started on their staff. Their management is absurdly undertrained to handle any type of situation that includes helping out the customer. If there was any way to give them negative stars I would, because that is what they deserve. I hope people who decide to do any type of service with them think about it twice and maybe a couple more times. To put it into perspective, doing business with Angies List is the equivalent of doing business with a monkey. Actually maybe the monkey is a step up, at least its nice. Anyway, save your money and time. Every other option is better than Angies List.

First time using Angis List. I was told my credit card would not be charged until services were complete. I was not told that I would be charged even if I didn't use the service. I ended up not having any work done so I cancelled it online. I look at my credit card statement and there is a $500 charge so I called and they refused to refund me. Then they said we can give you 50% back and a 50% off coupon they must be crazy. When I asked why I can't get a full refund I was told because he came out.So I called the credit card company to dispute.

Contacted customer service through the chat four times about a service I was to complete. The customer never left a complete address and now Angie does not want to pay me for the services I completed. Terrible customer service can I actually speak to anybody everything is done through a chat and they will just disconnect you when they feel they are done

Charles and his wife Dee was wonderful and very professional and every word was yes sir no sir, yes ma'am no ma'am we love it. They knew how to treat the our furniture and they addressed everything we needed without a problem I will highly recommend this company to my family and friends.

The hardscaping project was submitted to Angi and I received multiple estimates. Hard Scape LLC was awarded the project based upon pricing and confidence in their projected ability to complete it successfully. After some initial delays due to bad weather in the spring, the work including landscaping, retaining wall, pavers, and lighting was completed. I was so happy with their outstanding work that I expanded the project to include additional walkway and parking area. Their work exceeded my expectations and I have received numerous compliments on how the patio turned out.

The contractor brought his sister to the job. As he struggled to balance my dishwasher, she did this! ANGI won't help, cuz I missed 30 day window. I was away, and caulk job was ok for a couple weeks.Also had to get another guy to put molding around dishwasher. Paid $365!

At this point Angi is useless. Twice now I have scheduled a duct cleaner to come to my home. Twice I received confirmation and text followups, etc. Twice the contractor phone numbers are not active and cant be reached. Twice they never show. I have waited 3 hours now and no contractor even after Angi's confirmation. I will now call the customer service and complain and speak to someone in India that hasn't a clue. This is the last time I will use them and can not recommend Angi to anyone.

I found the electrician I needed and he did an excellent job.

But, I'm getting too many text and email messages from Angi soliciting for other home projects. I just wanted an electrician not to join a home improvement network.

Unsubscribing seems my only option. I asked that no more text messages be sent. It's too much.

After months of no charges, AL charged me 24.99 through PayPal. I asked PP to investigate and reject as unauthorized but PP stated unable bcs a recurring charge. I called AL to inquire and cancel but their recording states 'phone service not included in my subscription', I tried to log on to cancel but repeatedly got error message, with no password reset possible (until suddenly hours later). I received an email from AL later that night stating that I had an automatic renewal silver membership (not free) good 'til 2018 - when I sent an email replying that I had never agreed to any of that, it was returned- undeliverable. Seriously?!

I've been going back and forth and getting nothing but the run around from Walmart and Angi to get a refund on a service I paid for that the contractor canceled at the last minute after I took the day off from work to be home for. I ended up putting it together myself and no one seems to know how to get me a refund of the $144 I paid. The most recent thing I was told was to screenshot my Walmart order to *******@angi.com and they'll mail me a check in 4 to 5 weeks. And they have absolutely horrible customer service and no one seems to know what they're talking about!

Provided me with the right person for my job. Had to install a new shower body to existing water supply. The plumber suggested by Angie did a professional job.
Will always go to Angie for my house needs.

I would recommend this company to anyone. If you need service without guessing this company is the one. They will let you know on the spot what you really need but its your choice to pick whom ever you need
