Angi (formerly Angie's List)

I an not happy with the new format that asks what service I want and then has 5 possible service providers call me.
I prefer the previous format where I could see a list of all providers with ratings and I could choose who to call.

We had to have our garage door springs & rollers replaced. We are glad we called Precision Door Service they are prompt & the service technician Bryce, was a nice young man to work with! The job was done quickly & professionally.

Dennis Towsend, owner of DR Towsend Construction LLC was one of three contractors that responded to my inquiry for a 2nd floor stairway and deck rebuild. I selected Towsend Construction (even though they were not the lowest bid)because Dennis committed that he and his crew would do all the work from start to finish without interruptions for other projects. The project estimate was very thorough and everything committed was completed. Dennis kept me informed /updated on progress daily. Any unforeseen issues and or other needed repairs were discussed and agreed upon prior to implementation. The craftsmanship on the entire project exceeded my expectations. Therefore I highly recommend DR Towsend Construction for any home improvement project.

I would say they have garbage service and as I'm a business owner they are not worth it to advertise for business. I spent my money to advertise my business but did not get anything. They promised me so much but nothing happened after they got my money. They promised to call my previous customers and get reviews but all my customers never got a single calls from Angie's list. When I call my account manager in Angie's list they never responded to my calls. As business man I'm not happy.

I am not reviewing a particular contractor, but the Angi site in general. When Angie's List first started, it was truly a consumer-oriented service. You plugged in what you were looking for and they gave you a list of local contractors and how they had been reviewed by other locals and neighbors, including how close they stayed to their original estimate. Now, it is a service that serves the contractors. I plug in what I need and they select a few contractors to contact me. They have completely gone in the opposite direction of how they started. I am very disappointed and will have to find other ways of finding a contractor I can trust and whom I have chosen, not who has been chosen for me.

Kevin was referred to me from two different people that I trust. I called Kevin and he spent about a few hours changing lights and fixed a light that I had installed. I added a thermostat and an additional light while he was here and had no problem doing the additional work. Has to come back because one of the lights I had purchased was damaged and I have to order a new one. He agreed to come back and install it once the new one arrives at no additional cost. Myers Electrical is my go to electrician.

After watching 101HomeRenovation install a new roof for my neighbor, I was impressed with their work and their employees. I was very pleased with the work that was done at my home one month later. The Manager explained what I was to expect and responded to my phone calls immediately whenever I had questions. I recommend this company and I would not hesitate to contact them again in the future

We had hired a company to install new hardwood flooring, and they were doing a poor job, as well as being very unprofessional. We discovered Duane's Floor service, and they did a wonderful job completing our floors. If it were not for Angi's, I'd have struggled to find a reputable and prompt company to finish this project.

MRPRO'S did a wonderful job creating the best atmosphere for our living room. I gave him a picture of my couch and he came up with a four color color scheme that looks amazing. That also did my floors, some plumbing and landscaping! They are the best with affordable prices

We are very happy with the work done by Bernardy Lighting LLC. Micah, the owner, is wonderful and professional. He met with us more than once to discuss optimal lighting placement. Once the lights were installed, he followed up immediately that evening to see if we were happy and if any adjustments needed to be made. The company is committed to making sure you're happy with the work they do, which I appreciate. They really exceeded our expectations.

We needed a valve shutoff replaced, Ken Cook came exactly when he said he would, brought a heavy duty part and spent 2 hours digging and replaced the faulty part. I was impressed with his professionalism and his charge was very reasonable. I would for sure hire him again

It was easy to find multiple contractors worthy of asking for estimates. Two responded quickly and professionally and we chose the better one for us. The only recommendation would be to be able to get more quickly to the list of contractors applicable to a given project, without being directed to a particular single contractor with an Angi incentive.

I noticed that Greg is on Angie's list, therefore I am writing this review. I found Builder's LLC on my own, looking for a local professional contractor to remodel my two bathrooms and once I found him I also looked on Angie's List to see if it listed the business. I was fortunate to have Greg remodel the bathrooms. I could tell he takes pride in his work and loves what he does. He was efficient and was helpful in picking out the right material for the job, and they did it in a timely manner. However, he left the design decision to me. I am pleased with both bathrooms remodels.

I scheduled a lawn service and the first person never showed up but I was still charged and never refunded! Then I canceled there service but was changed again two months later. Still mo refund. Horrible company.

The contractor texted my husband but never showed, the call back number was disconnected. I was on the phone for 3 hours to be hung up on with claims of not being able to hear anything twice, offered a Lousy $10 discount for all the inconvenience. Given a number and Transferred to another department when I explained to the rep that I wasn't ready to take the number down…. Twice I opted for someone to call me back so I wasn't on hold, twice I received an empty call back! Finally someone was on the phone and I told him I no longer wished to have any assistance at all from them and all the could do was Give a refund, he asked to call the contractor that didn't show, then attempted to set me up with someone else. Now of course I have to wait 3-5 days for refund. I wouldn't recommend this company if it were the last one standing, all I'll remember is to never call this company again! 8/5/2022
They don't deserve the one star I had to mark in order to place this review

The contract said he showed up and completed the job. He was never here. I was home so I know he didn't show. I called the company and they said his GPS showed he was at my house and he said he completed the work. They offered to reschedule the visit for an additional 50.00 charge on top of the fee. Hmmm if the contractor showed up why are you offering to reschedule?

I had had home Advisor for about a year. Leads were average about $40 each. But i got about 25% of them so it was worth it.
About a month ago everything switched over to angies list. That was the last time i got a job. Over the last month i have made 10-15 bids a week from angies list. 25% will not accept the phone call. 25% never schedule an appointment. And the rest either never call back after the bid, or cancel the job a few days later. Save your money. Anything else would be better than this SCAM.

I had a 700 square foot pad done and 400 square foot dive way done. It is one of the worst I have ever seen. It drops almost 2 inches a foot and drops in the middle. It was supposed to be a level pad but it not even close. They offered me a discount and closed the project and said I had to pay the remainder balance. I can't even use it for what I wanted to.

I hired mr ej joseph and i guarantee you this man completed the job i wanted him to do and was so kind. He is a respectful christian man and i really enjoyed having him in my home... i would definitely recommend him to do the job... he painted... installed walls... put down flooring and also did a few misc things in my home for me that was out of the goodness of his heart... god really blessed me when he sent me mr ej joseph to do the job... marilyn d vital 337/660/8403

My experience with my contractor I have absolutely nothing bad to say. He was on time he was polite he was knowledgeable he was fairly priced cleaned his mess like he was never even there. I look forward to doing more future projects with him.

The team worked efficiently and effectively to create a long, safe, side driveway in unbearable heat. The watched out for each other and worked constantly throughout the day to get the work done in one day.

Angi needs to improve their contractor biz. You are required to pay UP FRONT and then you are not told if the contractor is not coming. You have to call them to even find that out.

Angi needs to tell someone if a contractor is not coming before they change their work day, twice.

BUYER BEWARE. I had to insist on a refund. This portion of their biz is going to spiral them to lower ratings.

I did not ask to be, nor did I give permission to be added to ANY kind of mailing list or contact sheet. The website asked me if I wanted to leave feedback, so I did. They entered me into a mailing list and sent me spam emails without my permission. They have been offering me discounts and telling me to update my membership which I don't even HAVE one. They even keep sending me spam after I sent them a cease and desist email. They continue to spam me to this day so.
