ASOS has a rating of 1.4 stars from 2,054 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about ASOS most frequently mention customer service, post office, and next day problems. ASOS ranks 473rd among General Apparel sites.
Bought a sweater and a cardigan, frankly the price was very cheap and the pictures looked good. The actual items received were good, but they don't last. The sweater lost its shape after one wash, and the cardigan seems to be polyester, which easily gets static electricity.
Bought a pair of Dr Marten shoes which are supposed to be one of the best for leather and longevity. When the shoes arrived they were farrrrr from new! They were battered! They had clearly been worn for several weeks and returned or worn by an ASOS member of staff that decided to exchange their battered pair for my new pair upon dispatch! I have attached photos as the shoes' battered state on delivery have to be seen to be believed! AVOID this company, they no longer care about their customers.
Wow, I was pretty excited with my purchases with ASOS. I purchased 2 dresses, a pair of shoes and a clutch online. The next morning I received a strange email asking for for information:
A copy of your passport, ID card or driving licence.
A copy of your payment card statement dated within the last three months, clearly showing your name and billing address. Please blank out your card number, but leave the last four digits visible.
The shipping address and the name of the person who will sign for future orders. If this is a work address, please provide the company name.
Um, hell to the no! What kind of legitimate business runs this way!? The very end of the email was even stranger, talking about how my funds would be released back to me in 10 business days...
Ok, now I feel I have just been scammed:(
Time to call my credit card company!
I purchased a maternity dress online size 8 they sent me a size 12. So disappointed I tried it on and of course it was huge on me. It's for a wedding I will be attending. Paid $42 something for it and only got a refund amount of $38. They say "free returns" yeah right! They cash in and do not refund you the whole amount you paid! I will not be shopping with them in the future. I tried it since their clothes looks really nice but I had a bad experience. The material of the dress was awful also. It was so itchy and uncomfortable. Nothing you want to wear being pregnant.
My delivery was stolen in the reception of my apartment building despite the delivery service not ringing my doorbell and me being home the whole day. Livid. Contacted both the carrier service (that Asos hires) and Asos.
Asos told me that they will look into it within 48 hours! Really that long! Not only that, but I bought these items for a vacation I was leaving for in three days. A long drawn out refund was not going to do me any favors.
When a business messes up, you expect them to not only fix the problem, but also give you "a hand shake" a note of good will saying that you should continue to use the company. I didn't like the customer service. Very apologetic but not helpful or understanding.
This place is a scam. When asking about my order that was supposed to be received more than a week ago they said, "Oh there's a problem in the warehouse. We'll look into it and send you an email in 24 hours." I didn't receive an email. I logged back in and chatted again - they do not have a telephone number - and they said the exact same thing as yesterday. When I said I'd like my money back they ended th3 chat and have taken away my ability to log in. A SCAM! Stay away from this place.
I originally loved the fashion forward designs available through this retailer as the USA is always a bit behind Europe. It's also a convenient and easy-to-use service, providing fast shipping and hassle-free returns. However, after years of doing my best to ignore the compromise in quality for the above, I can no longer spend my money on CHEAP, ill-fitting garments that are overpriced. This is the kind of place that will sell you a top for $50 that loses it's shape during the first hour of wear. Their clothes are made from the cheapest fabrics and they are always thin and often times see-through. I have so much stuff in my closet that I have retired after one use, one wash, etc. I'm no longer compromising quality for design but rather the other way around. I never shopped at cheap places like FOREVER 21 and the like but I might as well have been since their quality seems superior than that of ASOS merchandise.
Satisfying product quality and one of my most trusted site.
Had fitting problem and item was a bit different from description previously, but problem was resolved fast and refund process was efficient.
The only cons for for me is the price is more expensive recently.
I've purchased from ASOS twice before. But this time, will be my third and last time that I do so. I've never had such bad service from a business that works in partnership with a courier like they do. Especially since the courier has confirmed delivery of MY purchases, YET I do NOT have the goods to hold. And the worst part, and which makes it my last time using ASOS - is that they have no idea where my delivery is, nor know why I do not have it.
Be careful when using them! Couriers aren't as trustworthy as you'd like to think. Christmas is coming up, and people might want products for their family ultimately for free.
I'll update when I find out what happened.
Asked to return a northface faulty hoody, hem no stitched on all the way round.
Agreed to return and refund, but won't replace, advised I had to re-order.
However I don't want to pay carriage (as per my original larger order).
ASOS would only agree to 'credit me' the carriage AFTER I re-ordered and paid online, resulting in me messing about further.
I will order elsewhere in future asos, your customer service is not that!
Hello,
I made an order, and i have been waiting for 34 days, asos cancelled my order without even tell me the reasons.
And they lied to me, they told me that i requested to cancel my order.
Asos become worst and not professional as i was.
Best regards,

I ordered on Asos and then realized I submitted the wrong delivery address. I immediately got in touch with Customer Care who told me no problem, they'd ask the delivery service to return the order once despatched. In the meantime, I could just order again. That's what I did... However, then it turned out they could not return the order after all. Their advice: get in touch with the people who live at the other address. Sigh.
Simply ridiculous, they cannot even handle a simple change in delivery address.
Canadian buyers beware! I went to pick up my ASOS order today and guess what! They surprised me with an extra 25$ COD remittance charge for the shipment of my order! An order where the shipment was supposed to be free! I bought an extra idem that cost me 40$ only in order to get that free shipment. This is extremely frustrating and disappointing. Around 65$ that they made me pay because of lack of information.
Moral of the story, beware! Although I love the new items I bought, I feel like I could've found the exact same things at a different store for not only a better price, but also without this miss communication that caused me an extra fee. I feel like it was not worth losing all that money.

I have been ordering from ASOS since 2020 and every order is something I didn't select. I ordered a $200 dress in pink and received a blue version. I ordered a size 18 coat and received a 22? Ordered a size 18 top and got a 12? Their clothes cost too much to keep gambling like this and I'm tired of returning things to the post office. I'm not understanding why they can't send the correct items so I'm done with ASOS!
I ordered a nike outfit for my daughter birthday and it's been a month now and no one seems to know where it is and asos refused to refund me. I so dissatisfied and disappointed with their service and lack of communication
This is my second time ordering from asos and the same experience both times. I gave them a second chance because their petite selection is awesome. Both times 4 day shipping was promised and both times that wasn't true or even close. The first time took a month. This time it's been 3 weeks and after reaching out to them they give you the same BS answer. "Well look into it" and never do.
This site is 99 % reliable. I usually buy on sale products and the quality is really good. Once I didn't receive my order, wrote them a complain letter and they shipped the items again to compensate for the lost time. I deeply recomend it!
My package was marked as delivered and never was. I showed proof of no delivery on my home security cameras and confirmed that i asked my neighbors but they didn't have my package.
I reached out to ASOS customer service on 4 separate occasions and they refused to do anything to help me until they heard directly from the shipping company that "delivered" it.
I email the shipping company and after 4 days, receive a confirmation email that the package is lost. I then live chat with ASOS and show proof that the package is lost from the shipper and They do absolutely nothing to help me. Instead, they ask me to wait until the shipper emails them back with yet another response.
I immediately disputed this with my bank and I will never ever, shop this site again.
Tip for consumers:
Absolutely awful
The promo code didn't work and customer service didn't help at all, after 25 minutes. I did online chat to try to resolve. Devon wasn't helpful in customer service. I bought only because it was specifically requested for a wedding.
I placed an order for a size 8.5 shoe and received a 7.5. I tried to contact someone for a return label, chatting with someone for almost an hour to get that. Customer service needs an update. I wish I would have read the reviews before ordering anything from this company.

Shoes
I ordered shoes through Asos and these were delivered by Hermes to the wrong address.
The person at the wrong address claimed the shoes and I had to call the police.
I notified both Asos and Hermes and their response was dismal, both of them claiming the right to deliver to a third party without my consent, despite info. To the contrary given to me by Trading Standards.
They refused to give me a refund and said that the problem was all mine.
I would say that if you are thinking of using any of these services, BEWARE!
Never buy anything in final sale! There is a reason why those items are in that section of the website...
I bought two pairs of the same shoes by accident on final sale. They are the smallest size 9 shoes I have ever bought. They are useless. They just don't fit!
The shoes went from final sale to regular a couple of days after I bought them. I explained the situation to customer service. They did not care or offer anything to outset the money I basically lost by buying something I will never be able to use. They just waste half an hour of my time and never offer a solution.
Buy your clothes elsewhere like H&M or even Banana Republic. Clothes are better quality and costumer service is definitely better than ASOS'. Spend your money where your business is actually appreciated. And safe yourself an awful shopping experience.
I received the wrong item and therefore wasn't able to get the correct one while it's still in stock. They simply said there's nothing they can do with very condescending attitude and did not even apologise. Very very bad experience.
Do not trust this company at all.
I ordered some shoes from this site and received an email stating that my order was unsuccessful. Asos stated that I needed to give them either a copy of my passport or my driver's license! Along with clarifying some more information. You do not need to give companies your personal information, this includes passports or driver's licenses! That is extremely dodgy.
However, I read on and found out that they wouldn't have taken money from my bank account until I given them the information they wanted. I wanted to check with my bank anyway, given them a call and found out that they have received my money! I am now in the process of getting my money back and thinking about legal action if necessary.
Bottom line - they may have some good products but do stay away!
I ordered almost $200 in clothing from ASOS. I paid for express shipping because I needed the items for an event. Not only did the pkg come later than I was told, but only 2 out of the 6 items that I ordered arrived. I immediately contacted customer service (since their website showed the order was complete/delivered). I supplied photo proof. I was told by the representative I would receive an email with confirmation of my refund within 24 hours. The following day, ASOS emailed me that my account was being shut down for "suspicious activity" and that I was not being refunded. I will NEVER order from this company ever again! They are scammers! Beware!
I bought an expensive eyeshadow palette and 1 of the shadow was broken. I asked them for a partial refund as I don't have the time to go to the post office due to my job and they said they could only give me a voucher for a 20% off to buy the same palette! I didn't want the same palette, only 1 of the shadows was broken and you can get 20% off vouchers on the site any day. So basically I have a palette which is partly broken and Asos couldn't be bothered to issues me with a part refund after I explained my work hours. Last time I buy anything from them and I have spent a fortune I the past.
It is the worst experience ever.
Shipped to Canada, got 75$ of custom duty fees for a 213$ order (35%!).
Mistakes in order. Poor quality items.
To be able to return the items, you are obligated to pay a ridiculous amount instead of shipping by yourself to the address.
AVOID!
