I never even downloaded the free book so I didn't think I activated the account. Now I find I have been getting billed for the past two years yest only have 6 credits in the account. Totally unethical operation I cant believe amazon supports this.

I did not complete entering my details online but they still tried to take 84p from my account! Thankfully the bank noticed this as a fraudulent transaction. They start by taking a small amount and then increase it going forward. I agree that we are fooled into trusting the site as it is associated with Amazon. Vito Amazon I think until they take action. GET A JOB YOU SCUMBAGS!

You get unlimited books with Audible, but if you return too many within a certain time period, you get that feature taken away for good. You get one credit a month, which us a rip off for people that get through the books really fast and can't afford the $20+ for a book when credits run out. I have called multiple times and they said they can only return three books for me and no more. So I have to call later and ask to retun more. What an effed up policy. They are scamming people left and right and getting away with it.

If you "don't have time to read", then you don't have time to listen. Unless you're mentally handicapped, reading is much faster than listening. I would poiint this out on Amazon where it belongs, but Amazon banned me for being critical of their products--just like this one. Liberals like Jeff Bezos can bite me, anyway.

I tried the 30-day free trial, and no issues getting my two free books. I decided it wasn't worth the $15 a month to continue, so I tried to cancel online. Every time I logged in, it just kept taking me back to a screen telling me log in. I know the password was correct since it's my Amazon password, which I use frequently. I had to call to cancel. I hate dealing with customer service via phone calls to the point that I would not have signed up if I'd known that I would have to call to cancel. In the end, I was able to cancel without much push back from their customer service, but it took so long to figure out how that I was charged for another month and I did not get my free book for that month. If I sign up online, I think it's reasonable to expect to be able to cancel online.

I was gullible and downloaded one 'free for 1 month' audiobook and a few days (ca. 1 week) after I decided to cancel my subscribtion. Of course it is not easy to find the appropriate option on the Amazon/Audible website so after choosing the most appropriate options I have written on Amazon chat and asked if my subscribtion has been cancelled successfully and I would not pay any money for it. I have received an answer that of course I would not.
Today I have checked my bank account - Audible has stolen my 60 PLN(ca. 15$).

Don't fall for this scam. They charge you $15 a month for the ability to listen to an audio book that you must pay for in the first place! To put that into prospective, I can go out and buy a CD player for $15 and then buy a CD version of the audio book and save myself HUNDREDS of dollars! It may be a little more clunky then having a one stop shop for all my "audio CDs" but $15 a month is nothing but a kick-in-the-nuts rip off! Also, I'm AMAZED they do not give you access with your amazon prime account... All in all, don't touch them with a 10 foot pole, just read all of the other reviews.

I have been looping around audible's self assist help to find a book that was given to me as a gift. It recognises that I have "already purchased" the book yet will not show up on my app or on my online account. I have since given up as it appears impossible to get assistance in Australia. It also madee sign up to an ongoing contract pin order to gain access to a gift (that I still cannot gain access to). You need to go to extremes to cancel this account. I would not recommend this service to anyone.

Charges totaling $170+ over the course of a year. I do not recall signing up for this service nor do I have an account. Company issued a partial refund only and refused to return the full amount. Beware. This company should be shut down! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and suggest anyone experiencing this problem to do the same for a prompt response.

I've had an amazon prime account for years. NEVER ordered, authorized or accepted an audible account. Was charged on Sunday, called, complained and had it refunded. Immediately after refunding, they charged my sons account( his debit card was removed from my account a couple of months ago.) Not only did they charge him, they obviously save debit cards that have been used( he bought a gift for his girlfriend which is the only reason his card was ever on my account) Investigation opened, they have so many complaints, class action law suits... Amazon needs to quit partnering with them. WATCH YOUR ACCOUNTS CLOSELY

They are coy about how they describe what you get with a subscription, it's worse than Netflix! NOTHING you would want to listen to is for free it's just packed to the gills with dreck. So you basically just spent $15 for one audiobook.

I received a 6 months subscription as a Christmas gift. Although I tried many times to maneuver the site i was always unable to do so. Requesting help was futile and left me angry every time I attempted it. Dont buy this don't give it as a gift and don't accept it as a gift.

Don't subsribe! You are forced into a subscritption, which you pay for but if you cancel before using credits you paid for, you then lose your credits. Basically, Amazon gets money for giving you absolutely nothing. It Audible were a legit company, they would refund your unused credits. It's like sunk cost. If you don't use the product, you don't want to cancel because you have unused credits. So, you say, I'll wait another month, then forget, then they get more money from you. Now you've spent like a $100 on nothing, but don't want to cancel as you haven't had a chance to use the credits. It's the most disgusting business practice

I ALWAYS have trouble logging into my account and spend long periods of time with incompetent customer service. They fix it for a moment and the very next time I attempt accessing my account I cannot. Too many apologies too many promises too little action! If I didn't enjoy hearing my books soooo much I wouldn't be a member. The fact that I cannot access my account constitues for me an illegal action by Amazon that should be prosecuted by law with compensation to the customers who have been injured. Charlotte C

Even though I have had a pleasant experience listening to audible books in my car, I am thoroughly disgusted with this company. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I tried to send my husband a book for his birthday, he never received an email notification, when I logged on and clicked on resend to resend the email notification nothing happened. I had to call customer service; they said that they were no longer doing gifts and that I couldn't purchase one. I said I already HAVE purchased one I have the notification email, and now I need to get the notification email sent to my husband... it took me over 30 minutes on the phone with two different customer service reps. It was a huge exercise in frustration for both my husband and me. I it is absolutely not worth the money. Especially when they don't let you keep your books that you have purchased if you cancel your membership. It's a rip off. Don't sign up!

Received a 3 month memb as a gift. The code they emailed didn't work and when I called they could not find the gift using the code they emailed. 30 minutes later they found the account and I cancelled it. They said they needed my credit card which I informed them I did not want anything else billed, just the 3 months that was prepaid. They said they wouldn't bill me but needed it anyway. I doubt their system could even manage that complexity and cancelled it forcing them to refund the gift giver. For a dot com company, pretty poor system capabilities.

This place is BS, I tried the trial version and I didn't use audible as much as I thought I would. I tried to cancel through the website and it eventually gave me an error message telling me that they were unable to process my cancellation. Then I call customer service to cancel my account and they said I already cancelled my account, I also noticed they already had charged my 14.95 fee and I have a credit on my account. I told them to please refund me my money since I didn't even use the service. They said its in their policy not to issue refund for accounts already cancelled. I let him know that the website said it couldn't process it and apparently it did. So he had suggested to start up an account for 7.95 and then I can use the credit I have on my account. I am cancelling this account because I didn't use it. Why would I pay an EXTRA $7.95 plus the 14.95 already take from me to use a credit. DO NOT USE THIS BS $#*! SERVICE. I'm escalating this problem.

I got a month free membership. After a month I cancelled my membership. Now 6 months later, I see that they have been taking every month 16$ from my bank account.
Now I'm trying to fix this problem. But I can't log into my amazon account, because I changed phone numbers. I've been on the line with amazon help desk for 26 minutes. They couldn't helpe me.

So~ Not all of us have cellphones, by choice, and when you are one of the few left in the world that don't have a cellphone, you can't change the method in which you receive your one time password (OTP). According to: "Akshay: I am sorry, this is to inform you that there no option to receive OTP on email." So basically, if I am at work, school, anywhere other than at home, and I log into audible and it requires an OTP, I am screwed! What's the point in paying for something you can't even easily access. Useless

I sought help from their online chat but from 7.20pm to 2am, I was bounced between 8 different representatives. They asked for the same information countless times and stated they would call to help but after the third time of promising that I gave up. ABSOLUTE WORST service.

Just the worst. I never managed to listen to a single second of audio book. It just sucks so bad. And after I'd cancelled my subscription they continued to charge my credit card so I wasted tonnes of time chasing refunds. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

I placed my account on pause. I was unaware it would automatically come off pause just 3 months later. I was NOT told this when I paused it. To my surprise, I eventually noticed that they had started charging me again without my permission. It was being done in a stealth fashion so it was not easy to catch it right away. I called them up and calmly explained my situation. The agent was completely indifferent and could have cared less. He basically placed the blame squarely on me and had no empathy whatsoever. So I told him "congratulations. You got me. Enjoy your $30". He said "no sir we didn't get you". I said again "well, just enjoy your 30 dollars". I then heard CLICK and a dial tone. He actually hung up on me! Wow. Stay AWAY from this service. What a fraud. To top it off, I noticed I had 4 credits when I was trying to discover why my service automatically came off of pause. Well when the agent (Phillip) hung up on me, he cancelled my account and guess what, Those 4 credits that I paid for ($45) just simply disappeared! I got NOTHING for my money. What a joke. I am truly shocked that Amazon would cheat people this blatantly. This is flat out criminal.

Amazon makes it almost impossible to cancel audible. If you go into your Amazon account and go to subscriptions, you'll see that all of the other subscriptions are easy to cancel.
However, for audible, there is no cancel this membership button. They also do not tell you that you have to go to audible.com in order to cancel. You'll learn this when you try to call customer service to cancel.
Then you go to audible.com and they make you do this OTP nonsense where you'll never received the password so you won't be able to login and you won't be able to cancel. This is so unlike Amazon and it really needs to be fixed. I feel like audible is paying for the gas on Jeff Bezos is $500 million yacht.

I have never signed up for audible and they were charging my credit card 9 mos.! Canceled card & again they somehow got my new card & scammed me again! I am contacting the FBI on this Fraud by Audible!
