I found a charge for audible.co.uk on my bank statement back in july so i contacted audible to fund out what this charge was for (and cancel account if i had one)my answer from audible was that I DID NOT have an account in fact they had no. Record of me all together. Since then audible have took money out of my bank account another 3 times. How can they do that if i do not exist in their records? Because of these other charges it has also caused me to have aditional bank charges. Sort out your information audible please and also stop charging me!

I love audiobooks and after hearing that ITunes is closing down I figured I needed a different audiobook supplier. I thought it would be easy to join Audible.com... considering ITunes used Audible but it isn't. Perhaps because I tried to join via my mobile whilst I was on holidays complicated things.? I tried to download the free book but gave up and ended up buying it. But Audible took the free credit away from me anyways! Humph!
Why does joining have to be so complicated?
I have cancelled my membership for the time being but may well try to sign up again when I am less annoyed about it all. I will delete my bank account detail for fear funds will be taken out of my account when not suppose to as per the reviews I am reading.

I found listening to books annoying and the stories too slow to enjoy at all. I used about 1 hour of a 3-month trial period. I thought I was cancelling a half-month early, but I was charged for 3 months of no service used.

I am a huge consumer of audiobooks. If I am in the car, a book is playing. I have yet to find any commercial site with an inventory as large as Audible or the quality of Audible's software. And zero complaints as to the quality of the recordings. I do wish the cost was a tad lower but accept the cost as I have yet to find another site which is competitive in terms of inventory, availability, quality, honesty, service. I really don't relate to the negative reviews I have read. Well done Audible.

I recently saw I was charged 16 bucks for audible. This was going on for two years every month. I started a free account but believed I had canceled my membership. Don't trust this service. It is a complete scam, and they robbed me around 300 bucks!

Never had an audio book in my life and I see a £7.99 payment to Audiable UK... and then found another £7.99 back in March... there explanation was "a family member has been using your card and we've emailed them to contact you and explain"... What... scammed me through my Amazon prime account and this is there pathetic excuse...

Dec 2024 i signed up Audible from Amazon as i want to listen to one audio book. To listen to my 1st Audio book i need to sign up for the 30 days trials and require to input my credit card detail and Audible claimed the membership can be cancel before end of 30 days. I cancelled it but is still charge to my card on 20 Jan 2024. So I removed my card info in Audible apps but Audible still charge 2nd fee on 20 Feb. I wrote to Audible but their reply takes days. Email reply from customer service (UK) feedback they cannot find my email account in their system!? Their customer service is poor and slow.
To permanent stop this nonsense from Audible i had no choice but to cancel my Amazon account, yes the only way to permantently get rid of Audible is to close Amazon ac. This is the only option provided. I had to sacrifice my 10 years+ Amazon account and ended up loosing my Kindle book and Audio book forever. To double check, i create a new Amazon ac using the same email address and found Audible still have my credit card details when i press the 30 days trial icon. I will check again on 20 March if it still deduct fee from my card.
Anyone who plan to try Audible 30 days trials Please think twice or do it at your own $$ risks. Pay a small price to learn this lesson. I will not buy anything from Amazon from now onwards. I will just order my paperback book which i can still own it physically. From Singapore.

I cancelled my free trial and membership but 5 months later they have taken a payment from my bank account, I see this has happened to a lot of people, how are they getting away with it?
I tried to get it sorted out but ended up canceling my bank card which was a hassle.

I signed onto Audible free trial to have a look for one day, then cancelled. Yet I just discovered that Audible have been charging me $20 a month for the past year for an account that clearly says is cancelled when I pull it up. This company is clearly a scam - don't sign up to their free trial. I can't even contact them to get a refund either because apparently their chat is down, and I dont' live in a country where I can call. Grrrrr.

A friend of mine referred me to Audible. It wasn't an instant hit with me but over a week I actually got used to the idea of hearing books rather than reading them. Lets me relax without actually having to stop everything that I am doing. I still read but for stuff that I need cramming, I prefer searching on Audible first.

It was no where visible or written. I thought i was subscribing to free trail. U must always use desktop version for amazon website. They looted my 100 sgd and more. All teh amils where going to scam. And i ddi not check my account statement properly. I regret knowing about audible in first place

I purchased 8 Kindle books and purchased the audio books too. Audible suddenly took away the Audio books and said they were no longer in their Library. I paid for those books. Where did they go? I think Audible are a bunch of crooks based on this. They neither reply to e-mails and their chatlines are always being "worked" on so you can't get through. They Suck!
Tip for consumers:
Some way to get hold of a real person, in his country, who knows what they are talking about - Will never happen. So don't bother

Audio Books which then disappeared

Subscribed, downloaded many titles...more than I kept up with. I cancelled my subscription, falsely believing Audible's claim that I can listen to the titles that I've paid for and downloaded. Not so. I can listen to some of them, but not all. Makes business sense for Audible...a remaining tease with titles I can still listen to, and an incentive to resubscribe. My lesson: return to the inconvenience of borrow/copy/return from the public library. No sense in being Audible's chump.

I did not sign up for Audible and today I found that I've been charged, not once, but twice for a subscription service that I don't even know about. I went to their website to contact the service but the options are unable. What that hell is happening?

Audible web site is confusing. It's all about sales/profits. Audible doesn't want to you to reach a customer services. It's so frustrating. I'm a doctor & a senior citizen & a member of AARP. I'm been with Audible about 6 years and I'm still paying full price. WHY?
Tip for consumers:
Read reviews!

They directly bill your account through Amazon and fight like a pitbull to keep you from cancelling. The number to cancel is *******051. I had to tell the guy 3 times to cancel it and he wouldn't do it unless i just kept repeating my request to cancel.
They said I must have ordered it by accident. No, I didn't.
Hey Amazon this is bad for your brand.

Somehow you get signed up thru Amazon and Audible starts charging you $14.95 a month. Amazon is culpable in this scam, maybe I said I'd try a free book, but never did, and certainly never gave Audible my credit card number, but AMAZON gave it to them. Must have been some very fine print when I said I'd like to try a FREE ebook. I did call and get a supervisor on line and she promptly refunded my money, 5 months of charges totally like $89. I cancelled my account. Hope the refund comes thru. I am going to contact AMAZON because i am furious at them too.

Over and over audible charges my credit card for an audible book when all I have ordered is an ebook from Amazon. I call and email and eventually receive a refund. Am I wrong or isn't that credit card fraud? I have notified Amazon but, obviously, nothing has been done

I used to love Audible - a couple of clicks and I could start listening. But a few months ago nothing worked and after wasting literally days googling for answers and trying to sort it myself I ended up paying a computer shop $120 to fix iTunes so I could get my audiobooks. Next, a couple of weeks ago I spend hours of my time, then an hour on 'chat' with an Audible tech to get my books to actually play. Now more trouble. Today I bought a new audiobook and it won't transfer from Download Manager to iTunes. I've deleted and downloaded again in both formats, tried every settings adjustment suggested on the Audible help page and nothing works. Deciding that life is too short to spend time going round in the same frustrating useless circles, I gave up and tried to return the book but I'm told I can't and have to contact a customer person. I am so angry that Audible have turned a quick and easy process into a total nightmare.

I had a membership paying them 14.95 a month. I wasn't using my credits so I asked to stop automatic payments. I was told if I stopped I would lose all outstanding credits if I stopped the auto account although I could keep what u had already paid by paying ten dollars a year. Why don't they deduct that from all the money I have already paid them. Beware these people and their scam.

I called audible to counsel my account. They suggested I stay on with the company and agreed to give me a 3 month hold to spend the credits that were cumulating. Determined not to get slapped another $15 charge, I put the date in my calendar. A month to soon, I was charged again. Somebody has their dates mixed up and they would not budge. I now have another credit and a month to spend them or I will get charged again. I feel robbed.
Also very hard to use. You must put books in wish list then go to the web not the app to buy the book. Crazy.

Here is my story:
I subscribed for a one-month free trial. I downloaded the app into my cellphone. However, latter on I could not find much use out of it. So, decided to cancel the service. And, here comes the drama. There was no option to cancel it out of the app. Ha they very tricky to make other's ducky.
Anyway, I after a lot of research and spending hours (of course getting too much irritated and claustrophobic), finally, I was able to find a clue in my Amazon account to raise a complain. I wrote them 2 times, even it did not work. Complain goes round and round and my money goes and goes out of my pocket. Such a rip off.

I had to stop and review. Audible offers a lot, they don't deserve to be lied on. I've enjoyed Audible for years there's lots of cool romances and memoirs, their interface is wonderous, you get a free audiobook of your choice during the trial offer. Just end your subscription in a month if you don't like it or don't want to pay. I've done it plenty of times. They're like this huge company, they don't charge you if you don't want to stay with it. It's really cool to listen to Audible in the car, exercising, doing housework, long computer sessions. I recommend staying to buy at least 3 audiobooks. Everyone should have 3.

This is the worst program i have ever used for audio books. If you choose to cancel your membership with them they say you will lose the credits for audio books you have purchased already. So even though i paid Audible the money for my credits i will lose them if i cancel... I expected better out of amazon. Love prime HATE this.

So I got a new chip card and did not get around to updating my info (I run 2 businesses and always very short on personal time) with Audible. They sent me an email or two but being behind in listening to my Audio books I did not rush to update it, After all I had FIVE credits (like $90 worth) that I had paid for so I figured I was good for a long while. Well guess what! When they cancel your account they also cancel your paid credits! You have to have an active credit card on file to use the credits you have already paid for! I think that is flat out customer FRAUD!
