I brought an Amazon Echo from QVC over the holidays & i love the Echo, as part of the offer you were suppose to receive 2 free books, well i only received 1. You only received the 2nd one when you paid for $14.95 membership. So one morning i saw a pending charge & cancelled it immediately thinking the charge would drop from my account. WRONG! The charge went through and my Audible account was still showing cancelled... Ok so i called Audible customer Service & they said they would refund my account. So it's like if you cancel, they still plan on keeping your money~ unless you say something. WRONG!

I'm glad I found an honest review site about giants like Audible and Amazon. This is a complete hell to go through their customer service. Unprofessional and non-carrying customer service with little to no help on resolving the issue. It is not because they do not try to help (although sometime it is the case), but because they are giving promises they can never fulfill. I had to go over and over again with the same issue, and every time they are over-positively running me in circles without solving the issue. I paid for audiobook(s) about three years ago and I wasn't using amazon or audible for few years. When I tried to access audiobooks I purchased, amazon blocked my account due to duplicated accounts. I have no problem with that and glad to remove one account to keep only one that works. I did everything they asked me to do and it seems the customer service take a great pleasure running me in circles with no final solution to the problem. I have no faith anymore in any of Amazon or Audible services. It is the automated system that decides either you are going to be their customer or not, and it is not for the customer service to decide. I feel I was left completely lied to with no respect to my time or money. They showed me how they can take my money for the service and block access to it anytime they want. Screenshots shows the last interaction with Audible customer service that stated they will reach me out within 48 hours with the solution, so I can access my audiobook(s). It was 8 days ago and still no answer.

In July of 2019 someone signed me up for an Audible membership. On my next billing cycle, upon identifying the fraudulent charges, I reported the charges to my credit card carrier as not being authorized. My bank blocked them from billing further charges. Audible went into my Amazon wallet and charged everyone of my other credit cards for a total of over $200. After calling Audible and speaking to a representative who assured me that the membership was canceled and all of my money would be refunded, I went in and deleted all of my credit cards from my Amazon wallet and subsequently reported them to my States' Attorney General.

I'm in the minority here, but I really enjoy Audible. Their customer service has been stellar to me. I love that you can return books (there are a few narrations that need to be retooled, for sure) and the selection and price for book credits is excellent, especially as compared to hard back books. The Audible Frontier line is especially good, with a lot of great narrators. I give out gift subscriptions and gift books and it's always worked out fine when I hear back from the recipients. My only concern with gift accounts is that if a person I've given 3 months to, only spends 2 of the 3 credits before the third month runs out, they have to sign up again before they can cash out that last credit. I think they should change that policy.

I have been an Audible member of many years until today when I discovered Audible misused credit card information I provided to Amazon for the purchase of a non related Amazon item. A couple months ago, I went in with my parents to purchase a gift for my niece and we used my parent's credit card to make the purchase. Their credit card was somehow saved in the Amazon system although I did not authorize for an other charges to be placed on this card. Around the same time, my bank issued me a new credit card and I updated the number with Amazon and Audible. Apparently, when my old card number did not work for my monthly payment, Audible when onto my Amazon account, found my parents credit card information and charged their card all without contacting me or prior consent. I will not trust my account information to Amazon or Audible again. This is a breach of their terms of use.

I did not even know how I started the membership. When I realized this damn app is charging me monthly for a premium membership that I seldom used, it has already charged me for more than 2 years. It took me a few days to figure a way to cancel the membership. The way to cancel the membership is not even built within its app. You need to login to Amazon to cancel the membership. Whoever runs the Audible $#*!-app should be charged for financial fraud.

They are a rip off, they charge you every month but if you dont use your credits they will expire after a certain amount of time. And if you want to cancel, you will lose all of you credits. These people should not be in business. If should be illegal to charge someone for something that expires.

Do not trust this place! They of course will write good reviews on their website BUT plz Trust Me and others! They will keep taking money out of your account. They do it even when you CANCEL your membership! Imagine this company doing this do people who are Blind! Trust me audible karma is looking your way!

Despite the promises of "if you buy the book, you keep the book" upon discontinuing membership, they're as honest as Obama. 2 books out of 30+ am I now allowed access to, and many of the now forbidden, I did indeed purchase. Like the Mofia, I have to pay a fee to be able to still access them. I will absolutely never pay another dime to Audible.

I was desperate to find an audio copy of Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything and didn't want to take the risk of downloading it from one of the many sites that are likely to be scams. So I decided to try Audible.com. With the "free 30-day trial", the $40 book would be free, and that I believe. However, when I discovered I would have to download an Audible manager and that would be the only way to listen to the book on my computer, I decided to bust out of that popsicle stand. To their credit, I was able to cancel my subscription easily. It should also be noted that there are other ways to listen to, on your phone, IPOD, etc., but as well, you have to download special audible software.

I do not have an audible account but was charged for a monthly subscription. Audible claimed my credit card was a default backup credit card because my wife had used that credit card for a purchase on Amazon a year ago. Amazon stored my credit card information then provided it to Audible so Audible could charge my card without my authorization or knowledge, seem illegal to me...

You won't find the option to cancel on the mobile site, EVEN when you set your browser setting to the Desktop mode it doesn't show up - you have to click the Full site option on the Audible site for it to show up - isn't that pathetic? If this was verbal it would actually be against banking laws. We get training that you cannot have badger the customer to prevent them from cancelling, so it looks like Audible just intentionally designs inconvenience into the user interface to do this.

Started getting bills on my credit card. Called audible and was told I didn't have an account but someone else placed the order. When asked who, they wouldn't tell me. Wouldn't remove charge, but told me they would cancel the account? Had to call my credit card. People at audible barely spoke English. Had to keep repeating and explaining why I was calling.

Great idea when it works. Significant roblems with buggy website and poor customer service. Be sure to download your books immediately instead of playing them from the website. When you log in later, half the time you won't be able to play the books you've purchased. Online customer service is clueless and a waste of time -- they'll ask you to collect a bunch of info and send it to them, then they'll lose it and ask you to re-send it to them (how do you lose an EMAIL?), then they'll say they have no idea what's going on and so you should call the customer service line because there's a chance maybe some of those people will. What is the point of having an online customer service department if it's staffed by muppets? Just tell me to CALL in the first place. ANNOYING.

Bought an audio book and went through the rigmarole of downloading Audible Manager and Audible download Manager. Then tried the download - loads of error messages that content has failed to download and have now given up

I have been using Audible for multiple years now and have never run into an issue.
All the 1 Stars reviews saying it's a Scam/Fraud are written by either absolute Luddites or technophobic Boomers that can't read simple sentences.

I canceled my membership months ago but the charge kept appearing on my
Credit card. Last month I asked my wife to make sure she had all her
Books off the list and then attempt to cancel again. She said she went
Through the process and then canceled. I see yesterday another $14.95 charge.
What do we have to do to cancel this service? This is the gift that
Keeps on taking, and taking. I chatted with a rep today and was told the last two months were a mistake and they were going to issue a refund. It showed that the account was still open so I canceled again. I asked about the other months and was told, "Sorry about your luck." I see others are having similar problems. Would like to have them stopped

Just a tag here's the book you've been waiting for? I had no idea I'd been waiting for the next white supremacist book!

I saw a charge for 14.95 on my credit card, called to find out why it was charged, tranferred from amazon to audible, spent 21 minutes with operator before asking for a supervisor, then 6 minutes later I found out the charge was for a subscription service that I did not sign up for.

I purchased a trial membership which I cancelled in February 2023. Audible has continued to bill me $21 CAN for a membership I no longer have. I have reached out to customer service to no avail. Please audible stop billing me for a service I have never used.

I have never had an account with Audible, I never signed up for a free trial, yet I was charged for a subscription several times. I changed bank accounts and somehow Audible was able to get my bank info and continued to charge me for a subscription! I have no idea how Audible was able to get my info, but they did. I have had to call several times now to get refunded. As soon as I get my refund this time, I'm going to see about canceling my Amazon account for good! Although I fear that I will just be charged again. This company is stealing money from people. This should be illegal! How is this business getting away with this? Don't use Audible, you been warned!

For years I purchased books for 5 family members each with two devices. As an extremely active customer we enjoyed sharing our books & listening on our phones, I pads & computers depending on the time of day, as we would with any paper book. We just upgraded our devices, asked to discontinue some broken or missing devices & activate their replacements. No more no less.

We were told NO. We can only have three droids 3 Appkes. We had 10 total before. I purchased books on good faith that all five of my family members. Now two are denied access.
This is fraud
This is dishonest
This is Amazon eating another good ompany!

Called to see why I'm being charged on my account and not receiving credits.

Your customer service agent asked me to verify my address I did not, for security purposes (you can hear me say that on the call)

Your operator puts me on hold only to click back in and have someone laughing in the background I asked for a supervisor your customer service agent then hung up on me

Audible is very unprofessional not only with their paying customers but also with our private information

Very respectful to hang up on your paying customers

Would never in my life use this platform again

You would have got 0 stars but it forces me to put at least one

Stay far far FAR way from audible.com and whatever you do, don't ever click on an audible link from Amazon for a free audio book (or anywhere else at that) They will instantaneously create an account as an exact replica of your Amazon account and they will then have all of your information including contact and billing. Then they can start billing you at will and there will be nothing you can do about it. By default you will be signed up to at least 7 mailing lists and they will also by default publish you location, what you're reading, ratings, and other information.

If you contact Amazon, they won't talk to you and will send you to Audible support. Audible support will tell you they can't do anything once the account is auto-created other than to delete your entire Amazon account.

Have been a customer for years. My biggest complaint! They offer books, in a series and either don`t label it in a series or don`t label the number it is, in the series. Makes me mad when I buy an audio, only to discover, the one before it hasn`t been released to audio yet! Do I really have to google or go to goodreads, before I buy!
