Crooks
December 1, 2021

Well first of all I get a promotional offer from AAA for a bank of America credit card, with a 0%apr offer on purchases for 15 billing cycles (as most banks offer when they're trying to get you to sign on) so I applied at AAA and instantly got approved. I get the card in the mail and pay off my heating bill and a couple others things to avoid any interest whatsoever. I pay a couple hundred on my first bill and when I got the second bill I see almost 6 dollars in interest fees. I tried contacting bank of America with the number on my card and on the bill and had no help at all, went to AAA and they said all they do is the application process and that I needed to go to bank of America to discuss the issue. So I do and I dealt with the most rude person imaginable at there office in Dewitt NY, she was no help at all but she did get someone on the phone who I had to speak to for about 30 minutes in their building trying to get this righted around, the guy called me back the next day and said it was all sorted out. I just got my third bill in the mail today and they messed something up, it shows the promotional offer which is great, but their still charging me almost 4 dollars in interest for some reason, now I have to deal with this process again. This is absolutely ridiculous, anyone I've talked to is very unorganized and not very knowledgeable at all. I've wasted so much time chasing them around. They are complete Crooks, if I was some old lady they could have really robbed me blind. I'm sure it will get sorted out but no one should have to deal with this kind of stress and nonsense. I went as far as to bring the promotional offer with me to the bank when I went in, I mean come on. Just watch out if you decide to bank with these people, keep your guard up.

I facilitate large purchases/loans. However, sat with Robert Marrone, Redbank, NJ Bank of America office?, And he is the worst human i have ever run in to. Talks poorly about those he thinks are "beneath" him. Sat there for an hour listening to him backstab anyone he could. Check first if he was fired or if he is in the office you are going to before doing business. I have never written a review before and only did because his words were so hurtful and obvious lies about someone I actually know well. Please forward to his boss or corporate or whomever can see him eliminated for the good of all. So far I have discouraged all I deal with to stay away till Mr Marrone is eliminated.

Worst Bank Ever
November 24, 2021

I was warned by several people not to open an account with them. I should've listened. I had an incident occur on my account which was something that was not a smart choice on my end but an innocent mistake. The lady in the fraud department I spoke with was extremely rude, very accusatory and flat out unprofessional. She kept cutting me off and talked down to me. She didn't save have a nice day just transfer phone to a recording then phone disconnected. My account was closed which is fine but I'm reporting this lady to corporate. I don't care what's going on in someone's account, you don't treat people less than you or like their stupid. I worked in customer service for 5 years and never treated anyone like that. Before this there were instances where purchases weren't posted for weeks then suddenly they post to overdraw your account. Don't bank with them. Not worth it at all.

HORRIBLE!
November 19, 2021

Trying to get through the answering recording is torture... its like BOA wants to punish you for doing business with them.
Just awful. I have had an account since the 90's and in the past year they have become spiteful in the way they deal with customers on the phone. BOA wants youi to sig up for their APP from which they sell your information to everyone without your consent.

I booked a flight for my wife and I to Iceland on May 21,2021 and noticed I did not have our names the same as our passports. I somehow got routed to flightsconfirmation.com and they assured me they would change our names for $450.00. Our names have never been changed with Iceland Air and they have never heard of this company. I contacted my credit card company (Bank of America) and they said it happened too long ago (over 60 days) and said to contact the company. I did and they refuse to do anything.
I then filed a complaint with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) and that did nothing. So I've contacted AARP and Clark Howard. Bottom line, stay away from Bank of America. I've been a customer of theirs for over 26 years and they won't fight for me.

I live with a friend who works from home for Bank of America. I can hear just a little bit about what goes on. He has to work on every major holiday regardless of it being the only time he gets to see his kid. If he even thinks about having that day off he gets yelled at. Customers are allowed to yell and cus at him and he isn't allowed to do anything! He can't even ask them to stop. If you plan on working for them, I suggest you have a very high tolerance for getting told your worthless and nothing... from the customers and the business.

Bank of America SUCKS
November 8, 2021

Very disappointed with this Bank after being a loyal customer for many years. I can't fathom how they treat their customers. Will be moving my accounts elsewhere. Poor customer service and pick and choose what they want to do. On top of that, they want to quote laws but can't tell you the exact law they are quoting to you for you to even look them up to see if they are telling the Truth.

Place holds on your account for days costing me money and then refuse to fix it. I am done..

Customer Service
November 1, 2021

Bank of America has the worse customer service ever. You can never get through to them and if by chance you do they are no help whatsoever. I have a platinum account and the service still sucks. I would rate them a negative score but the system won't allow it.

What Money?
October 15, 2021

I received a notice that my credit card payment was coming due and then notification that it had not been paid. So, I got online and paid via check from my bank to BOA. Three days later they took another payment for the same amount.
My checking account showed the two disbursements but BOA only showed one.
I called them and got that straightened out.
Next day, I see a notice in my email that a payment is due.
It is not as the second payment is credited to this months payment.
What a confused mess.
My US Bank runs as it should with never a problem.
So much for BOA (like the snake).

I went into the Bank of America branch on Boylston street, Boston location and got a rude awakening of what discrimination feels like. While I was there, the check that I deposited got stuck in the ATM. I saw one of the employees assisting a Latin American woman (on the white side), so I waited for her to finish with the customer and explained my situation. Then I asked if she could assist me. She said in a nasty voice; that she didn't know how to use the machine and that I would have to contact someone outside the branch. Not at any point did she walk over to evaluate the problem. Instead, she continued to be dismissive and cold.

I explained to the employee that it might be something that she could help me with since the ATM was prompting me to go back and put in the amount, but I could not find where to enter the transaction amount. She proceeded to ignore me and move on to an Asian customer that had just walked through the door. Talk about passive-aggressive. At this point, I knew that she wanted me to feel inferior, so I decided to speak up for myself, explained that I had a check worth thousands stuck in the branch's ATM, and to either assist me or call a manager. Again she argued that she did not know how to use the machine, but I held my ground.

Finally, she came over, pressed a few buttons, and it turned out that she ‘did know' how to use the machine.
Frustrated by the employees lack of professionalism, I asked to speak with the her manager. That's when I learned that the woman discriminating against me was the branch manager. I left in disbelief. I felt like I was being pitted against the other two customers because, in her mind, I did not fit the demographics of that area. The message that I got; is that my business is not as valuable because I am black.

After experiencing this level of disrespect and unfairness from this branch location, I hope Bank of America does something about this systematic racism amongst its employees.
I'm sharing my story publicly because I hope people will start speaking up. And finally, I don't want anyone else to go through what I went through.

I've been a BoA customer for 9 years. Recently, I had some issue with Sallie Mae, who are also getting a review, where they (literally) did not process my deferment form. Naturally, I called SM to resolve that and was promised the 3-5 business day return. Great.

I call BoA. First, I get a Yasmin/Jasmin from Georgia who tells me that they no longer waive overdraft fees until after they're posted. Mind you, this used to be done 2-3 years prior. So, naturally, I'm left with little option but to wait. I call today in the afternoon and I am connected to a young man who informs me of the extra caveat that they can't waive it until they see the refund. Mind you, my account is already -$200 further down the hole than the previous amount.

With this inconsistency, I ask for an acting manager. I get connected to a young sounding, burnt out woman who basically had no time to assist (this is all after waiting a half hour for the initial help, then 12 more mins). She repeats the same line like a bored robot. "Until we see the refund." This is despite me asking the general timeframe. All this for her to finally say they do not know timeframes. Her name was Raven.

I am resolving this issue then closing my account after this. Abysmal excuse for a national bank with its squalid reputation well deserved.

First, they would not address you with empathy. Second, they would purely go by instructions given to them, they would do nothing to resolve the issue. Third, the issue will still not be resolved after several calls. It should be name "Worst Bank of America".

I just paid my credit card completely off! I have been a faithful and loyal customer to Bank of America... and since day one, I have made automatic payments from my bank checking account with no issues whatsoever! Last month, I simply changed my auto pay banking account number and expected no issues with Bank of America. I mean WHY should there be any issues?! I even kept plenty of money in both the new and old checking accounts, just in case! Howbeit, I was charged a LATE FEE for updating my banking information! Evidently, updating my banking information kicks out the auto pay! I just called and spoke to customer service... They were NOT understanding and VERY unprofessional! They were RUDE and unforgiving! Even though my history of consistent monthly payments did not need forgiveness... It meant absolutely nothing to them! I no longer respect this bank! And I will no longer recommend this bank! HIGHLY disappointed! Do yourself a HUGE favor and STAY AWAY from Bank of AMERICA! I hope this $29 fee is worth it, Supervisor Adrian!

This Bank is GARBAGE!
September 23, 2021

Bank Of America is easily the worst bank on the planet. Resolution Specialist Alfonso Acosta is the definition of a idiot. This dude denied my dispute with a merchant because the merchant told him that they delivered my package but how did the merchant have a 3 thousand pound outdoor shed delivered in a US Postal truck. Anybody with half a brain knows the US Postal Office don't deliver outdoor sheds in a Postal truck. How can you be a resolution specialist and you lack the ability to ration. If you thinking about opening a bank account with this fraudulent Institution, I'm warning you to not do it. Why would you want incompetent people like Alfonso Acosta and Bank Of America handling your money.

No one did their job!
September 10, 2021

I promise I will leave a review wherever I can! I received a fraudulent email saying an account was authorized and I called 3 times to let them know that I received it an is there anything I can do because I do not want my funds to go missing. I checked my account and $3,000 was missing. The reps including fraud told me that everything was fine and did not take precautions or anything to avoid this. I will be leaving reviews EVERYWHERE and trust me I will be making a claims in court. Also all agents did not seem to care and showed no empathy! Kimberly from escalations Dept sounded so "dead" when apologizing she can care less. She did do her duties however train your employees to be sincere at the minimum. Will see you guys in court

Might as well play lotto
September 5, 2021

If I could give negative stars I would. So I take a check... my paycheck... you know the ones that they used to give on the paper... after my boss makes a mistake 1 single time in 3 years and I deposit it. This terrible review is more so for BofA as a whole and not this location but the teller DID NOT tell me "This check could be held for 13 days without any good reason besides just general security that someone out there (who I guess enjoys stealing debit cards, IDs and going thru the monumental amount of trouble it takes to get a fake watermarked paycheck with your name printed on it and taking a chance that they could cash it out the next day) may TRY to defraud them or me".
She told me it would be available the next day. The next day, I got an email that my money would not be available for use until 13 days later. Called the 800 number, they told me no one could help me. Keep in mind... this is a mortgage payment amount we're talking about here. So now, if I didn't have anyone to lean on or a great group to work for, myself and my family would be without power and 15 days behind on mortgage/rent. That's enough to change your life for the worst. My BofA trust ENDS here. I will play 1000 towards the LOTTO next time... the odds are faster money are much higher.

BOA has issued loans under PPP CARES act and then only offered partial forgiveness. Loans under the SBA were granted when they matched your payroll and filed taxes. BOA has failed to issue full forgiveness to thousands of their own customers, & is timing out the option to have them be forgiven. They are offering about 60% forgiveness according to the SBA. The SBA offered a direct forgiveness portal, which BOA will not opt into so their own customers can get the loans forgiven in full. This is not legal, and they are targeting the loan recepients trying to force them to repay the loans taken out in good faith. Forbes did an article on this and despite SBA saying billions of dollars are left to be forgiven, BOA is billing themselves for hours and stalling loan forgiveness. Many loans come due in October 2021, and the loans need to be approved for forgiveness before then. Megan Scholz VP in NC, has removed my loan from forgiveness for being mad at my right to seek full forgiveness. This is not legal. They have traumatized 50 states of people that are holding on to their businesses by a thread. BOA cannot do this and despite hours of efforts, their greed and overbilling, plus 1% interest they are trying to earn on unforgiven balances is taking priority over the right of the borrowers. 99% of loan borrowers used the loans to stay afloat. They are targeting these people to scam them out of being able to survive and owing back money that was told to be forgiven. My loan was on its way to forgiveness, and Megan Scholz withdrew the application (not legal) and then wrote me that my forgiveness amount was "0". This has to be stopped and fixed, there are thousands of business owners suffering the same fate. Forbes article here I ache for myself and other innocent businesses, trying to provide retail services to the public, and being targeted during a crisis, by the bank. https://www.forbes.com/sites/kotlikoff/2020/07/13/another-horrific-bank-of-america-horror-story-that-hundreds-if-not-thousands-are-apparently-experiencing/?sh=57fbe5704ee2
