One if the worse mistakes i made was sign up with this nasty company, please don't use them if you are a contractor or trying to advertise your business please don't use them
DO NOT TRUST THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!
We have a complaint on our business which pulls down our grade to an F, yet we service thousands of customers and have for 27 plus years.
The BBB was offering to erase our complaint and give us an A Grade for $500
How can you trust an organization that sells it's grades!
The BBB is a scam organization as I saw on the news. DO NOT TRUST THE BBB, they take money for grades or slam the business with a bad grade, often an F.
I have ordered from Teespring 4 or 5 times and I love the fit and feel of the tee shirts. The graphics are amazing and stand up over time! I am positive i will order many more in the future!
They did a great job on finding a website called WPM. I did get my money's worth on this website and it was no rip off when it comes to honesty and no rip offs. Thanks for your tip.
I'm dealing with BBB.ORG across the US. The website is prone to an Webpage error 500 to many of the offices. I really think the BBB at best is ineffectual and at worst a shill for the business you're attempting to get resolution for. They obviously favor businesses over the individual when responding. They gave one business 6 months to respond and only allowed me a week for my rebuttal.
They have very confusing, nonsensical rating system. A business can get a rating of A+ but have all complaints and negative reviews. When asked why, a vacuous answer was provided.
I'm dealing with the Austin office most recently and it's clear that the "dispute resolution specialist" favors business enough to distort or ignore the meaning of words in the Oxford dictionary.
I think, This problem stems from the fact that the BBB sells subscriptions to businesses for their rating and decal. This translates into the BBB becoming captured by their clients. They are captured because if the BBB presses too hard, the Businesses would not seek the rating. Perhaps if the BBB had a subscription service for individuals, we pay for the opinions we want and could get an equal footing.
I remember a scene on a TV show when I was a little kid (I think it was from All In The Family) where one of the characters has an awful experience with a business and yells, "I'm going to call the BBB!" It's still around and it's still useful and it's still powerful, and it's incredibly convenient to use their site.
A few years ago, I was ripped off by a company for a small amount, only $20 or so, and filed a BBB complaint on their web site. My complaint was the first one. They had no records about this company. The owner refused to return my money. It took a while for the gears to roll into motion and for additional complaints to accumulate, but sure enough, about a year later, the scammer was investigated and exposed by a local television station for ripping off thousands from other people who had been more trusting than me. His business was forced to shut down and information about his business and about his name will remain on google forever.
The BBB can be a great force to resolve individual conflicts with businesses or to battle businesses with a history of scam-artistry, but I am wary of more subtle distinctions like their A-F rating. The idea that an A+ business can't get any better or that there's some quantifiable distinction between an A- business and a B+ business seems silly to me.
BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU HAS NO POWER IT IS JUST A BUSINESS WHEN A COMPLAINT IS FILED WITH THEM THE COMPANY WHO YOU COMPLAIN AGAINST DOES NOT EVEN HAVE TO REPLY IF THEY DO REPLY ANY B S REPLY THEY MAKE IS FINE WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU THEY DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING EVEN IF THE REPLY IS B S THE CEO OF THE BETTER BUSINESS MAKES 700,000.00 A NICE AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO PUT THE BETTER BUSINESS OUT OF BUSINESS THEY ARE A SCAM
This was a complete hoax and a nightmare. I provided a 15 inch binder filled with pictures of the contractors shoddy work, the contract which he violated using materials which were not stated, statements by honest people who had to rip out everything the contractor did and they went to binding arbitration which is a joke. The arbitrator was a disbarred attorney who lost her license to practice law because she was found guilty of bribery, misdirection of funds, stealing from her clients, collusion with the opposing counsel, and the list went on. I did not find this out until after the fact, but she was not to be doing work in this capacity especially in front of my attorney. She kept telling him to shut up. She refused to allow him to question my six credible witnesses who had to repair the damage after the contractor quit accusing me of "creating a hostile work environment" and that "I was a threat to his workers". As if I could be a threat to three 6 foot men, whom I rarely saw, and who didn't speak English. The companies pay the BBB to be members, pay to keep the A+ rating (I found 33 complaints buried on another site), and pay to put BBB with the A+ rating on the company website. Non of the people I have worked with in the past are on the BBB and going forward, if they are I will run the other way. I can add photos of the mess they ignored later.
