I requested bids from several moving companies, and found one that was significantly lower than others but the agent at Emerald wouldn't take "no thank you" for an answer. He wrote me three times with inflamtory and unfounded statement and assumptions about the company I had hired without knowing even the name of that company. He assumed that any company with a lower price must be breaking the DIT rules and plans to raise the price later. His whole fit came across as a very unprofessional act,so I advise others to stay away I alo had questions about their intake interview, where every little thing bcame a "discount," and with enough of them, they came into the range of some o the others overpriced companies I got quotes from. It seemed all puffery and pretence rather than good faith doing a good job for the customer. I wouldn't trust them

Waste of Time
August 17, 2016

We filed a complaint against One Landscape Design and Build in Peterborough as they failed to deliver on their promised time frame, constructed aspects of our project with damaged materials, failed to consult with us on changes to our design plans, failed to obtain a permit, etc. As we did not feel that One Landscape was cooperating with us, we filed a complaint with BBB. All BBB did was post email correspondence and gave One Landscape an A+ rating for stating that they would reply to our formal letter of complaint. However, One Landscape failed to respond to our letter or address any of the multiple deficiencies. They have not returned back onsite to repair anything. The BBB process was a waste of time.

I asked for help with a Chime dispute they did nothing and sided with the business. Chime is literally known for taking people's money and allowing transactions without permission. I provided information and they literally did nothing to help. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! These businesses are not for the people, they only care about making themselves rich. The BBB will not help you in any way.

Shame on the BBB for degrading a small business that has served the community so well, for so many years!
If a small business does not meet their specific criteria, they will post unfair representation of that businesses on the BBB Site.
The BBB is a bureaucratic, self serving company that is out of touch with small business and the average consumer.

I Am happy we have a service such as the BBB. I buy and sell on ebay and etsy. Twice this year (2015) I was scammed (one shop on ebay and one shop on etsy) Once I was able to locat the real address of the shop on ebay, I filed a complaint. It was resolved in a few days, and I had my refund. The shop on etsy was different. It was in China. So I used Etsy address, NY, and filed against "etsy shop Best Supplies". It worked. In a few days I had my refund. Use the same complaint (copy and paste) for ever contact, Paypal, Resolution centers, etc. Any correspondence from seller, specially sellers and lame excuses why you didn't get "whatever". Use as much information when filing a complaint and the BBB does help you

The Better business Bureau once one of our most trusted allies against the Corrupt business world but the trails and tribulations of time can turn the best of us into scum we once fought. So needless to say greed can turn the most legit person into comical business monopoly fat cat.Do some of you remember in high school in history class cartoons from the early 1900's it showed really big fat guys dress in period clothing tops hats and all each one represented a major corporations such as oil, steel, lumber, tobacco, sugar etc. These big fat guy represented the major corporations thats what better business Bureau is. Believe it or not you can pay to have an"A" Rating placed on the door of your business. Just pay the better business Bureau. 500 dollars and they will give you an "A" Dont pay them every month that "A" drops to a flat "F" dont believe me look it up on 20/20.The better business Bureau is now officially Corrupt thats right folks you heard me right. You can pay to have a good rating for your business. Its a shame what was once thought to be honest turned out corrupt. So sad how the tides turned.

I paid for a service to ship out a 60" TV to my Father in-law to Argentina and they not only stole my TV and my shipping charges, but they where smart enough to evade the Police and the BBB. They took $1200. 00 from us, just for trying to send a gift to our family. The BBB said they couldn't help. No one can help.

The BBB is not given any power from any government office, though the average person seems to think it's run by the US Government!

The BBB is a Business, and they are in business to make money. The BBB charges businesses to become "accredited" and then the only service they provide is that they allow people to lodge complaints against them.

The BBB does provide a small service in that you can file a complaint against a business, but they don't tell people viewing the businesses profile that the complaints were satisfactorily settled, and they don't allow for consumers to post a positive review of any business!

Why do BBB execs make over $100,000 per year? Why don't they allow for positive feedback?

Here is an ABC 20/20 investigation into the BBB. Watch this video and learn more about the real BBB.

I would be happy to give the BBB a positive review if they did something positive for businesses.

Crazy service
August 24, 2016

The BBB doesn't know what they are doing when they publish reviews of people that have not gotten what they want from a company that they do business with. The BBB should have a hearing of the two parties before publishing a bad review of a company and determine what is true and not true.

What a joke of a company!
December 13, 2022

I've spent weeks trying to help my client get money out of this account. This company is the WORST. They cannot be doing things legally. They refuse to speak with a 3rd party even when that party is a legal entity helping their "client" and the client states that he wants help. They say they can speak only to their client, yet they cannot and will not verify that he is actually the client. They refused to accept his Driver's License because they say that the picture is unclear, however, my client is of color and it was a clear picture. They've locked up his money for weeks, even after the Social Security Admin verified his identity and put him on their call list. They never returned that call, or at least didn't make much of an attempt. My client is now homeless, in part because he cannot access his own money. And we won't even talk about the ridiculous wait times to reach a real, live employee and then getting hung up on numerous times. The employees at Social Security even said that DE is a nightmare for them to work with. Run fast and get yourself a local bank!
