Zappos is the most amazing company in terms of customer service and I made a mistake trying Belk. I purchased a pair of $200 Michael Kors boots from Belk and they are making me pay the return shipping to order a size larger. Unreal. And they were rude about the entire issue, as well. Do not waste your money on this silly company.
Needless to say, I will NOT be ordering a different size!
Read reviews on Zappos... five stars over and over. Belk... one stars. There is a reason!
One sales person in the entire mens department. Cheap clothing piled on tables and falling on the floor. Belk branded clothing is worse than Targets and Walmart. Filthy and smelly dressing rooms. Will never go there again. Amazon here I come!
Belk.com uses something called SmartPost with fedex. It only cost them around $0.50 per package to use and it takes your package between 2 and 3 weeks, minimum, to deliver. The site will consistently show you it's being delivered the next day, but it won't be here for at least another 2 weeks, per FedEx. According to fedex, that is the cheapest way to ship and it took about a week and a half just to get picked up from Belk. It's a nightmare!
This is the first and last purchase I will ever make from Belk! I ordered a toy for my grandson, only to find it a little while (just a couple hours) later at Target for more than $40 less. I was shocked, and e-mailed their customer service to cancel my order, but received a very quick reply saying that it must be cancelled within 15 minutes. Yes, I should have done my research, but I have never seen this toy before, although now I see that it's very available. Also, they had a " today's special" 25% off with very few exclusions. I applied it and it said applied, however after I committed. It said not coupon eligible! OK, you got me this time, but NEVER AGAIN!
It was the first time I ordered from belk.com. I ordered two pairs of shoes and after reading their return policy I wrote out a label and brought it to UPS where they told me it was going to cost me $16.95 to ship. When I called the company they said the only way they will generate a label would be if the items delivered or damaged or defective. I will never order anything from this company again.
I placed an order of 3 pants and a dress, the pants were on sale for $11 each, their size runs small and did not fit, the other 2 I bought for my cousin and she had the same problem, when I called they say I gad to pay for the return and will not be reimbursed, I returned and when I received the credit In was only)12 for all three pants, this has been the worst experience ever shopping online. I list $28 dollars! I am furious and will never ever buy from Belk again. I wish I would've read the reviews before placing an order.
I ordered a pair of boots one month ago and just received them. Let me tell you the quality of the boots are horrible. The shoes look like they are worth $10 and I paid $45. I will never order from here again. The product looks nothing like the picture they have on their website.
I ordered shoes from Belk.com, they are too big. Wanted to place an order for the correct size shoes plus another pair. The shoes I had ordered were on a promotion, but they are regular priced now. Belk.com refused to sell me 3 pairs of shoes for the price I paid for them the first time I ordered them. Said they couldn't "price match" past 10 days. So I'll order these shoes from somewhere else, for the price that they would no longer honor-because it was a "price adjustment past 10 days". That's garbage, by the way. It's simply customer service to sell something for the same price IN AN EVEN EXCHANGE. It's a courtesy. It's common sense too. They could have had a sale for 3 pairs of shoes, now they're just getting a return and no sale from me. You guys are smart. Literally stepping over dollars to get pennies. Thanks Fran.

I have had no issues with product quality; however, be certain that your order is exactly what you want first go round because there is little to no grace period to cancel. I had an issue with size and contacted customer service less than an hour after purchasing to correct sizing. I was told I would have to return the items for a refund. What a hassle!
Stay out of politics. You have lost some very good customers for making a "statement" with the dropping of Trump merchandise. You will learn your lesson the hard way. I cut up my Belk Elite card and will never shop with you again. From a proud deplorable!
The Corporation will not allow a person to return to work in a Belk Store if they find that an employee does the slightest thing they consider to be an integrity violation. I made a mistake in the amount of $61.35 which I paid back, but I was not given a second chance. I worked all my life and was never treated this way. I worked hard but was not given any consideration for that. No wonder stores are closing and have a hard time keeping good workers. Also, they don't give any consideration for young working moms. It is sad.
Ordered a shirt from Belk, took a week to get shipped. Took another three days to get picked up by fedex. Another two weeks later the tracking simply stopped. Package never arrived. Called multiple times to Belk's customer service & repeatedly was told different policies. I gave up & requested a refund. This was never offered to me. Don't order from Belk unless you want headaches & hassles!
Why does the Belk web site not show the local store availability of item and size you are interested in? Macy's, Nordstrom, Banana Republic etc do. I do not want to pay the delivery fee for an item that may be at my local Belk store. When I attempt to call the local store regarding an item I saw on line, I am always transferred to the wrong department or no one answers the phone. Customer service and communication needs much improvement.
This was my first time ordering and will most likely be my last. I ordered an Urban Decay eyeshadow pallet from Belk and it came poorly packaged and some of the eyeshadows were broken and had exploded everywhere. I will be sending this back and taking my business elsewhere.
A little known fact... You must cancel an online order within 15 minutes for Bells to honor it. They refused to cancel 2 orders I placed yesterday, even though they have not shipped. I will never shop Bells again.
My 90-year-old wheelchair-bound mother bought 2 shirts for my brother from Belk Online on May 7,2022, for $64.03. She paid for it in full through her PayPal account. A few weeks later, she got a bill from Belk saying she owes $64.03. She contacted PayPal and they sent her an email confirming that they had paid the $64.03 in full to Belk. My mother lives in an assisted living home and the office was kind enough to fax a copy of the correspondence from PayPal to Belk. Then she received a letter from Belk saying that they did receive the payment in full from PayPal. Then she gets another bill from Belk saying she owes $64.03. Four months later, after numerous phone calls and emails to Belk, she is still getting past due bills for $64.03 from Belk! My mother has high blood pressure and a bad heart and this situation is very, very upsetting to her and she cannot get it resolved. Our whole family has cut up our Belk credit cards
I had to write a review since I read so many negative ones. I had NO problems with Belk except that it takes some time for the clothes to arrive. I LOVE my sweaters that I got from them. I've gotten lesser quality from Macy's! Just be aware that the shipping may take awhile... I felt the items are worth the wait.
I ordered online a size 12 men's shoes. They sent them but one shoe was an 11 while the other was a 11. I was told to send them back (which I did first week of March). They have and even won't pick up calls on my issue
Placed two orders online using debit card. First order was $140, second was $68. Checked bank account late wed night before thanksgiving and noticed two more charges from Belk for $103 and $15. So of course I'm upset thinking someone has hacked my account. Called my bank and all they couldn't tell me anything except the charges were from Belk.com. Spent an anxious thanksgiving worried until Belk customer serviced opened day after thanksgiving. I was then told by customer service that the charges are a hold they put on all debt cards until all items ship. Then hold will be removed 3 to 5 days later. What? Why isn't this stated on website when you checkout? Online buyers beware!
