I've been super lucky and found some great deals on open box items via the website. Got my son a pretty spectacular gaming laptop for Christmas at around 60% off the regular price.
Overall, Best Buy is a complete joke. I've complained to the Better Business Bureau about this company. They are complete rip off. I can't wait until Amazon buys them out and they shut down. They literally stole a package and refused to give me my money back. I found the police report, and they never refunded me for the amount. Then for complaining, they placed me on a no online order or store delivery order List as if I would purchase from them again.
Placed order, check status, card was charged. The day of pick up the website said store preparing order for pick up. Store closed and then received an email that said order wouldn't be ready for a month. Tried to chat with customer service, estimate wait time 20 minutes, 20 minutes came and went and then Bestbuy said that there was a technical error and that I need to start a new session. Ok second session nope, third session finally got to talk to someone, and all I wanted to know was my order going to be here by Christmas? All the customer service rep would say is that bestbuy is trying there best to fulfill my order. So no answer, huge amount of time wasted and they took my money and provided no answers. Buyer beware.
Just got home after a two-hour visit to Best Buy. Talked with several staff and ended up with Steve who was ideal. We now have two iPhones (6s), and my husband seems happy with them. At this point, we'd recommend anyone's visiting the store - specifically Steve - for good products and service.

My hard drive took a big dump a month ago, which meant Best Buy had to repair it. I got my laptop back, and I started getting adware/spyware pop-ups. I heard that some of these places do mess with computers during their repairs so beware.
Bogus claim of "ready in one hour", so I order on line and pay for it. They supposed to let me know when I can come in and pick it up, but after several hours they send an email saying item is not available, but maybe next week. So much for "ready in one hour". Also their web site said only one available, hurry up and get it. But several hours after I supposedly ordered the last one, their web site stills says ready in one hour, but only one available, so hurry up.
Sometimes there is no substitute for going into a store and speaking with a knowledgable tech person. When we upgraded our main tv a few years back (old one quit right before Christmas, during peak gaming and viewing season) we wasted a pile of money on a useless cable (junk from China) we bought on Amazon. Thing promised to marry the interfaces, but it did not. (Sometimes it is difficult to figure out what you are buying online.) Guy at Best Buy helped us select the correct cable (he did kind of giggle at the thing we bought), and upgraded dvd player (no, we couldn't still use the old one like we'd been promised). Have also been happy with online purchases from here. Lamented the loss of Circuit City, but Best Buy, in my opinion, has risen to the task.
Ordered an expensive refrigirator. Delivery was scheduled with two hour time frame. Delivery came 5hours late. No phone call. Spent most of my day on the phone with horrible customer service giving me run around. When delivery finally arrived, the fridge was damaged and had to be sent back. I cancelled this order. Lots Of frustration. Best buy turned into worst buy experience
I do browse occasionally thru the stores and compare. RARELY will I buy anything since the prices are too rich for me. There are better deals to be had in other electronic stores. But hey- it helps me to inform myself about products. The best I have gotten so far is buying the booklet from Consumer Report and researching the various products from the booklet and internet reviews.
Often times their stuff is junk. Every HP computer has been junk. All my phones have been junk. Service has been excellent, but the products are poorly made. I also notice that products that u buy on-line have MORE memory and upgrades, and Best Buys seems to strip down their computers to low prices with little to offer whereas on-line u could buy the same product with more options including memory and upgrades already in a LOWER price!
Wow, I thought I knew the worst. Nope. Best buy broke a new record for the worst buying online experience out there. I placed my order on November 27, still NO update for delivery.
Spoke with more than 10 different agents without success. They know nothing about handling costumers. To speak with a supervisor it's impossible or getting help via chat is basically a joke, or sending a complaint thru email also nonexistent.
They conned numerous people into buying products on sale online without any guarantee you'll ever get the product or your money. No confirmation emails, no updates via best buy account, not a single reassurance the costumer's best interests and costumer's peace of mind.
It's like giving your money for free. I learned my lesson-No more business with best buy.
Sent back BB laptop, ASUS, which got corrupted within a few days of using it. Sent back, return confirmed and verified. More than a month later, six calls, total three hours waiting on the phone, still no refund. BTW, your Proof of Purchase image upload prevents upload of an image; impossible to comply with specs.

I am really upset with Best Buy. I have been a loyal customer for 20plus years. I have spend thousand of dollars purchasing computers, laptops, kitchen appliances stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, wash and dryer, etc. My son purchased WIFI extenders for $138.00. He forgot to notified me. So the purchase went unpaid for two months. After two months, Best Buy reached out to me. I paid the whole balance and the late charges. I just found out that my credit limit of $4,000 was decreased to $350! Due to this incident. They refused to reinstate my old credit limit. It didn't matter my my good standing throughout the years. I will not EVER shop at Best Buy. I will take my money to any other place like P. C. Richards.
I bought all my appliances for a new house at Best Buy because of the 0% finance. That was nine years ago and have never had a problem with any of the appliances! I have bought other items since then and have always been a satisfied customer.
No customer service. I mean no customer service... I live over an hour away and bought a complete appliance package over $12,000.00. I have tried to call for the last 2 days regarding and they will NOT answer the phones. I asked my mother in law to drive by and ask them to put the dishwasher on the truck with the delivery the next day. They said they would and of course they did not. I looked on my Best Buy app to locate the order number for the dishwasher since I placed it separately and it has been removed. Since I can't call them I will be driving up. Had hip replacement surgery 2 weeks ago and I can't wait to limp in there and tell them to come get everything out of my house!
Went into the store to return a busted printer that was delivered b/c not in stock. I was afraid this was going to happen, just my luck, I guess. Due to the nature of my visit, I was already p/o'd... who doesn't like to waste their time.
The greeter at the door told me where to go and from there I was taken care of by Marco and Brian who both were very helpful and didn't pass me off to anyone else, help with picking out a great printer with 3 day delivery. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's delivered in perfect working cond. Thanks to the 2 young gentlemen, this bead not s painful experience. Thanks guys

It is very good place to buy electronic stuff. Some time, price is cheaper than amazon (include tax). Also support paypal, we don't have to restore our payment information agan.
However, Bestbuy has some issue such as slower restore hut selling product, it will reduce customer's interise on product and website, customer able to buy same product at amazon with 3 more clicks and similar price, if that item which is they wanted is out of stock,.
Went to the Cedar Park store to buy a new Ipad. We asked about a data transfer and the clerk wanted to know if we had a subscription and we only have the basic rewards plan. The clerk tried to sell us a $179.00 plan which included data transfer other wise it would cost $100.00. I said and we left.
Not only did they lose a $500.00 sale, I will not buy from them again.
I've purchased a lot from Best Buy and anytime there's been an issue they've taken care of it. I recommend spending a few bucks on their extended warranties on big ticket items. They have paid for themselves in the past and I've not had an issue with BB honoring them. My only qualm with BB is recently buying cell phones from them and having them goods over details like amonthly fee and being double charged. It was a big headache going back and forth between Sprint and BB to get it sorted. It took hours as they passed me back and forth.
They have a lot of good offers on electronic devices. If you want to buy that when you have always been interested in buying at a discount when you will be able to do so. I was able to order what I ended for them at a good price with a little discount that makes a difference and I am glad.
Not very good, 90 % of the time your item is not stock! And don't try to return anymore then about 3 items a year they will (they did it to me) Try to embarrass or intimidate you not to return anything again, and you cant get any knowledge from a youngster if they don't know it (Poor training if any) its not the youngsters fault! 10% in stock items. And how dare they put all the music stores out of business ( Sam Goody's, The Warehouse and others) because at first they had a great selection of music on CD's for about10 or 12 bucks, now there all but gone! Remember the time when you were with friends or just by yourself and thought of an album and wanted it, back then you could just hop in the car drive to your local Tower Records and get it at 1am and enjoy! No more, and concert tickets can you buy them at Bestbuy $#*! no! Now I'm really pissed!
Wish I could do 2 reviews. In store service was 5 star, thanks to Kendrick. Bestbuy credit would not allow use to use our new in store credit card on our washer and dryer purchase losing us the 10 percent credit on our purchase. So watch out for the bestbuy bait and switch.
I purchased a Hamilton Beach-Artisan Bread Maker a week before Christmas as a gift to a friend. Unfortunately she was in the hospital only only recently was able to try it. The thing is garbage. It doesn't mix properly and the bread comes apart like string cheese. So I printed the only available return label they had and packaged it back up. I had my husband drop it off at UPS.
$60.00 it cost. My husband was under the assumption I was being reimbursed so he went ahead and sent it. When I found out the price I called Best Buy asking to be reimbursed for the shipping. I was told not only would I NOT be reimbursed for the shipping but that even though the defective product was only just recently used for the first time they will not accept it back and it would be returned to me.
I have had positive experiences purchasing from them online. My only complaint is that I had to pay sales tax - not their fault lol. This was back when Amazon didn't charge snales tax.
I did have a defective laptop once (screen was cracked somehow) they handled the RMA painlessly and issued a refund.
Tip for consumers:
They give points which you can redeem on purchases. If you buy a fair bit, expect $10-$20 certificates. Just remember to use them before they expire!
I used to be fan of Best Buy because I liked to buy their products and they were friendly. I stopped buying stuffs from them after I was not able to get tax off for a non-profit buy. They didn't help me in that matter. In addition, I started buying online after that.
If i could leave zero stars I would. I purchased an e gift card through this awful company and their third party company and not only did they take the money out of my account for "authorization purposes" but they then sent me an email saying they couldnt process my payment yet they took the money from our account. We then called their customer support in which they transferred us to multiple departments, about ten different departments, none of which knew what they were doing or talking about. Only to be told that the funds would be placed back into my account pending my banks authorization. We were wanting to buy an i pad for our kid with that today and now we arent going to be able to thanks to good old best buy and their third party cash star. Stay away from this establishment. They do not know how to treat their customers and they are borderline theives.
I should have learned when they wouldn't return a printer that stopped working after only a year not to buy anything from them. I bought my son wireless headphones there less than six months ago and the one headphone cracked for no reason but since I didn't have a protection plan it wasn't covered. Anywhere else would have returned it at under a year old. When I questioned why they don't stand behind the products they sell. Their response is they do if you buy a protection plan. Why should something break with less than six months use. With that philosophy I will never purchase a product from them again.
