One guys profile read "Mack"... He introduced himself as "Bruce--" When I questioned this; he disappeared... Another touted his financial stability (who cares? I can take care of myself... To prove it I've been doing so the last 40 years--) And yet another? Oh let's just forget about it! This is a place for folks who like to play games. I may NOT have much fortune in finding 'the one' on my own-- but after this experience; I'll stay gleefully single.

On line dating sites can be a good option but Ladies be Careful! Im a professional beautiful healthy minded mid aged black women with my own everything. There are some good guys on here with the same qualities mentioned but take your time because one of first ones i replied to ( handsome, has good job, he is educated / articulate, & claimed he wanted a serious relationship on the website) and exchanged phone numbers ended up being a player and ran games after 3-4 weeks. His conversations & encounters started revolving around sex & attempts for it. After talking on phone for 2-3 weeks and then seeing one another ( spending quality time) for additional 3-4 weeks, he sent a final Very Brief text stating he is ending our dating situation and Ghosted me!

A lot of older guys with pictures from 10 years ago. I did meet 2 guys out of state a couple years ago when I first tried the site. Both flew me out to their hometown for a week and treated me nice. But of course wanted to have sex and get you a plane ticket at a discounted price. Lol. The guys in my area are not worth looking at on the site. I hate that flirts count as messages. Fills your inbox with crap. The guys are very desperate for a date after one message exchanged. Even saw a guy who clearly wasnt a member put his phone number in the profile itself. Wow desperation! Im not renewing after this 30 days is up.

Not really sure why everyone's complaining about BPM. Seems like people have absolutely no clue how hard it is to find a reputable black dating community. No complaints so far. Site is easy to use, many members. BPM and BlackSingles4u are the best dating sites in this category.

Been using numerous dating sites. Aske me, Blackpeoplemeet is rate one of the best as far as being a legit w/no scammer, hackers. Etc. I still had some doubt when I signed up a few weeks ago and I was getting crap full of message just like the fake dating sites. But after chatting a while I was sent three phone numbers and two emails for direct contact. Im a sneaky person when it comes to paid dating scams. Blackpeoplemeet ain't no scam for sure. Also worth checking out is Blacksingles4u. Same story different site. Crap full of messages when u sign up but legit option.

Awful... most if not all if the men on BPM are looking for sex and that's it. They are losers! This is all they have for there nasty lives. As far as the site it self, they are cons they will take your money and give you nothing... once again making money off of us again. I guess building this country was not enough! I to thought that I had met a really nice guy, but I later found out that he was having... yep SEX with a women from Brooklyn NY who gave it up fast... two weeks after he met her, well I can't compete with that, because I have self respect, class and dignity! I will never let anybody take that away. Oh by the way I caught him red handed. Beware!

Not sure what kind of issues everyone else has with bpm / site works just fine. Been a member for a few weeks and had two dates already. I've been told that blacksingles4u is also pretty good, so maybe I will also check it out next. But so far happy with bpm.

I checked my inbox as soon as I paid for my membership and it was filled with messages. What I didnt realize is that these were all just generic flirts saying the same basic thing. Even worse when I tried to click on the profile the profiles were no longer available. When i would get matches the majority of the women were overweight which means they dont care about fitness. I would not recommend this sight to no black man in america. Even if you message one they will say you are too far away even if you are not. So save your money and meet them in person.

I got on to discover that the computer generates messages and sends them to men I have no interest in. Then it tells me it's matched me with guys 1. Not in the age range I selected 2. Those who don't respect my profile 3. Some who are very rude 4. White guys on the site

There continues to be a fraudulent pop up that charges you 5.99 because it won't go away while you're trying to get rid of it. They don't have a good phone number for you to get your money back! It's a rip off

I am getting A LOT of fake profiles. Why is this? I also get messages in my in box that say that I have "flirted" with someone which is not the case. I met this one guy with whom I connected and we were messaging. He didn't seem fake. But after two days without hearing back from him, I went into his profile. Lo and behold, it was taken off the website. It had me confused.

If you set up parameters such as distance & age why do they show profiles from different states hundreds of miles away? If I'm shown 11 matches per day how come my profile isn't shown to other members as well as potential matches? The only time I get notifications of views and messages is when my membership is about to expire!

I am currently a member of Black People Meet. I was very satisfied with this site. I connected with quality men in my Detroit, Michigan area. There were credible men who I met and dated. There are some questionable people but a red flag should go off. Some men use this site to meet women for illicit affairs ( a man told me this; I do not how true it is. However we are all adults!). I purchased a subscription -1st mistake. 60% of them have unaddressed mental health issues- everything from attachment issues to bipolar to misogyny. The site sends messages between members not initiated by members to stir interaction. The site is constantly messing with your profile and pics even though you've not broken any rules. The filters are fake. However you choose to shuffle the profiles from your search you still have 42 pages of men in the same order. Frauds, liars, scammers, games and teeming with LOSERS.

Same faces from a decade ago. They don't have a feature where you can completely turn off your profile if you leave to stop getting messages. People still think you're a member! What if you get married? Someone will see your let profile, thinking you're out there looking, and let your spouse know. Also I joined 10 years ago, and came back, and I'm seeing the same faces, with the same photos, meaning these people aren't even there anymore. I had 901 messages. Of which, 894 of them are just likes and flirts. I think it's a ploy. You see all these messages and you get excited, so you pay for a membership, only to realize that they are nothing more than flirts and picture likes. On the plus side, I didn't have a problem with my credit card at all.

I think there are some good men on this site but my experience was not with one of them. I will not be a paid subscriber ever again. The guy I talked to for four months lived in Oklahoma, he seem to be nice in the beginning until he started talking sexual and then thought when we possibly met was going to perform oral sex on me. At least he was honest to let me know so I could kick him to the curb.

Horrible- paid member- locked out, customer service does not help you, even after you provide the information they requested to resolve the issue. No customer service phone number either all communications are via email so you will be ignored- and nothing you can do about it. Worst experience ever. Of I could leave a review with no star I would. Try the BLK dating app. To top it off I'm a paid member! Use BLK App.

This site is a joke, most of the men are big liars, they are seeing multiple women, screwing them all telling you that they want only you. I see the same guys on multiple sites. One man I was seeing did not tell me he was bipolar, had heart problems, and had major sex problems. He was stone crazy, when I broke it off he went ballistic, wish I could post his name, to warn women, but he is forgotten, will never be online again at least not this site.

This website is owned by people media. They have so many websites and all operate in the same manner. You can't send a free message, but you keep getting lots of spam as inbox, or flirts. Then they ask you to upgrade to see who sent a message and read the so called message. Do not waste your money upgrading, look for a better website. And even if u upgrade, they still tell you to add more features, to highlight profile, add more features to know when your messages have been read. All these features need more money. Its just stupid if you fall for this. Stay informed. Be wise.not foolish.

It is really hard to think of a better black dating site than this one. Only site which may be an alternative is BlackSingles4u.com but forget the rest. So I am surprised to read all those negative reviews and I believe that most of the guys leaving bad comments have no idea what they talkin' about. I like the site a lot and after spending years on several black dating sites (avoid the 100% free sites, they are just a waste of time) I know that there are only two or three worth joining sites and this is one of them. Period!

So I used BPM off and on in the past when I was on the dating scene. I met a few young ladies and made lasting friendships and eventually found the lady I'd end up marrying who's been an absolute gift in my life.
There are definitely a LOT of scammers and pretenders on there. Be careful!
And just like you want to meet the actual person you're communicating with, so do they, use a real and recent photo

Someone I meet a few years ago reached out to me on bpm and we started seeing each other again and agreed that we would be exclusive so we can see where things go. We Both decided to cancel our profiles. After an amazing weekend together he texted me and called me a $#*!ing liar and he could see that I did not cancel. He would not listen he was convinced and now we no longer speak. I called into customer care and yes, even though I cancelled my profile is still up! Why would they do that! So just a warning if you find someone and make the same agreement just know your profile will still show

It this site had the option of a 1/2 star that's the rating i would give black people meet; the men are trash, they are out for their own gain; never met men that were so thirsty to meet at my residence after exchanging one or two texts messages and men that wanted me to take them out or "dry beg" for money; women should take the money used for this site and invest in some stock or something that will have a better pay off

I tried to join a few times, using different payment methods but all you get is a notice that your card has been declined and I tried with a few different cards as well as my ATM which all work, even Paypal doesn't work. They have absolutely no customer service so it's basically just a fake dating site...
