Book Outlet

I'm from Toronto and they're based in Thorold, ON. So it's approximately a 1.5 - 2 hour drive. My books came fast. I bought it on the 5th and I got it today (the 10th). 9 books for around $60. It's so worth it. Yes, the books obviously aren't in good condition but you probably know this already. It's second hand books that are in good/decent quality. Books don't need to be in 100% good condition unless you plan to keep it for life and re-read it. It shipped with Canada Post and everything came all in one box. Smooth transaction and I'm so happy I discovered about this website.

I was excited to receive my books until I saw that one of my books had a big blue marker stain on it and there was an advertisement for a new HBO show (that cannot be removed; printed into the cover). I just wanted a new book. I didn't want a sticker advertising a new idiotic tv show, and I certainly didn't want a marker stain on a Christmas gift.

The books I ordered and received looked like new. Perfect for gifting. Delivery was a bit slow, but then again the winter bomb cyclone hit so I thought delivery speed was good considering the challnenges.

I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first order. The books are in perfect condition and I was shocked by the prices. I believe I purchased 12 books for around $48 - so I spent roughly $4 a book. Only one of the books had a remainder mark and it was just a small one. I liked that I got free shipping at $35… Shipping did take a little bit of time - but it had to come from Canada to the PNW of the US. It was well worth the wait and I will be ordering again!

Lots of great reads for a fraction of the price. It helps to pay attention to the USPS tracking though, to avoid wet books. The package sometimes cracks and there is nothing between the books and the cardboard.

I was very pleased with the quality of books that I received for the price. My order shipped relatively quickly and I was happy with the delivery times. I will certainly order from Book Outlet in the future!

I ordered this same book from another site and paid more for one book than these three I just ordered. I wanted to purchase the book for some friends and was grateful to find Book Outlet with the great savings!

The books that I purchased were a good value for the price. My complaint is that the shipping time was very long and when the books arrived the box was torn on the side and the books inside were not protected and multiple books had covers that had been smashed, torn and folded. The books were just placed in the box with no padding to ensure that they didn't bounce around so badly.

I have been a Book Outlet (and its predecessor) customer for over 25 years. The new boxes you have been using are junk. This is the second time in about a year my shipment arrived with the box destroyed. This time it looks like the box opened and the shipper just threw the books back in the box (no packing mat'l or restacking the books, just thrown back in) and wrapped the box in a bunch of tape. Two book jackets were damaged. These new boxes you are using can't take the weight. Afraid to buy any more books with the shipping & handling you are using.

The books were not packaged well. The box itself was almost open on my porch from wear in the post and poor box materials. The books were also thrown in the box with several sideways and having damaged spines. Other books showed obvious stickers from other secondhand sales.

I do like ordering books from you but it takes forever for them the show up and sometimes the box(es) look like they have been thru a warzone. It feels like you guys cram as many books as you can in the cheapest boxes possible and many times with out any packing materials to keep the books from moving around and in some cases they do arrive damaged.

For the second time, the books I ordered were not packed very nicely. Though this time none of the covers were ripped, just the corner and a few pages bent due to a flap of the cardboard box being inside of the book. (I took a video when I opened the book, but I have yet to share it). The order before that, a cover was shredded because of the top of the box was damaged and the book that was on the top of the pile suffered. (Which is why I took the video.) And I do believe the order before that I was missing a book, but after contacting you, it was sent.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the book I received was new, no underlining, no color coding and was a decent price. I love being able to hold a "real" book as opposed to using Kindle. I'll be using Book Outlet again. I gave it 5 across the board, I'm a happy camper, uh make that reader! Colly H.

Every single time I order, pages are bent or ripped. This time The Match had a ripped jacket cover and severly bent pages. I love your prices but the disappointment over damaged books is getting to be too much. If you wrapped the books in bubble wrap or something it would help. Theyre traveling from Canada to the US and theyre getting very beat up by the time they get here. Last time my box was ripped open and the books exposed and ripped.

The overall experience was great. The only issue I had is with how the books were shipped. The books were just thrown into a box with no evidence of being packed properly. Some of the books were bent and damaged from not being packed correctly.

Great price, slow delivery (2 weeks), a couple of the books have bent corners, All the books have a black marker stripe along the bottom edge. The books are not in bad shape...just not as pristine as anticipated.

My only issue was that I had ordered a book that was showing available, and then after paying was sent an email saying that the book I had ordered was not in stock. Just a quick sellout and it did not show low stock item when I ordered.

The only part of the experience I didn't like was the packaging. The top of the box was nearly torn off by the time it got to me and there were holes in the side and bottom. I know other people who have had similar experiences and said this is different than the boxes previously used. Otherwise very happy with the books and extremely happy with the prices!
