As a customer with the highest credit score possible & a customer for many years of BostonProper.com, but NO LONGER, EVER! I ordered 2 items & asked for 2 day delivery willing to pay for that. That same evening, I received a bulk email from them offering free 2 day delivery. The next day, I called & asked to have my 2 day delivery credited back to my Amex since 24 hours hadn't even passed & of course I haven't received my purchase. It took 2 days to get a response or a US customer rep speak with me & REFUSED! Can you believe that? This is not the 1st 2nd orc3rd time that I've had tremendous difficulty with Boston Proper. However, it is the last. I will never buy from them again & you shouldn't either! The absolute worst. No company operates that way. 12 hours after placing the order, they offered free 2 fay delivery & wouldn't credit my purchase that was placed not even 12 hours before their bulk email!
The discount is applied online but when you go to pay, the amount of the order doubles. When I called to cancel, I was refused. Asked to speak to a manager and got the extended wait on line. Horrible web site and customer service - avoid!
I bought a dress and needed to return for a size adjustment. This whole ordeal has taken over 2 months and they are a nightmare to deal with. Every person you get on the phone is terrible I had to escalate to a manager for a refund. It took over 3 weeks for them to process a return and another 7 business days for them to actually credit me. DO NOT SHOP HERE.
I ordered an item which was received damaged. Then I returned items for exchange. 10 days after they received the returned merchandise, I still had not heard from them. After a 30 minute phone call, they tell me they cannot exchange the merchandise and that I will need to go back online and place a new order for what I want. But they are willing to refund my money for the returned merchandise. (Gee, thanks!) That all would be fine except for the fact that I bought the items using a 30% discount code. After arguing that fact, the agent returns to advise me that she can give me a 20% discount code. Not the same - totally unfair since it was a damaged item I was returning. Utterly ridiculous. Shame on Boston Proper!
I initially placed the below review but have to take the time to make an update. I was so impressed and appreciative of the follow-up call from Boston Proper management. She was concerned regarding my experience and wanted to make things much better. It was refreshing to see they truly care about customer experience, especially now with our new normal after the pandemic.
The absolutely worst customer service and experience. I place an order which should have shipped within 2-3 days, it did not, so I called and was told they were checking into and a supervisor would call me back. I never received the call back so called again after receiving an email stating my entire order was cancelled. A week later no communication from Boston Proper other than a cancellation notice. A clear sign they do not want my business. I will be sure to share this experience with others.
I purchase a sweater full price at 73.00. It went on sale and they will only refund 58.00. On top of that they want 5.00 rerurn postage. Not worth their over priced items and return policies made to cheat their customers
I placed an order and within an hour saw something was wrong size.called and the rep WOULD NOT change the size, ( not even getting a supervisor) They refuse to accommodate me and I just spent over $1000. They barely speak English either. Guess they don't value their customers because with that service I will no longer be one.
I purchased what I thought was a suit set, but I didn't realize it was just the pants. I realized my mistake as soon as I got my order confirmation. I tried to call right away to cancel before they shipped it but they refused to cancel. They refused to refund me too. So now I'm stuck with a pair of pants I didn't want and now have to file a dispute with my credit card to get my money back. Awful company.
Don't hit clothes here. Cheaply made from China, repackaged in distribution center. Won't help with paycheck stubs, help with PTO, or help with anything. They have 'meetings' for the profit but share none with employees or give customers discount. Clothes are so cheaply made and cheaply purchased then expensively distributed.
I have been ordering from Boston Proper and haven't had any issues until now. I placed an order and it was sent to my old address after I had called and updated my address with an agent. I spoke to someone who could only say what he has been trained to say. I understand. However, I did speak to a "manager" who basically called me a liar. Very rude. I wasn't asking for any $$ back, I just wanted them to understand what I was saying. Never happened. They just kept telling me that it could not have happened. Because of this treatment, I will never shop at Boston Proper again! Beware
I have bought many items and have been very happy until the most recent purchase. Black and white dress, black fabric bled into the white collar, and wouldn't come out even at a dry cleaner. Requested a return, and was told no. Very disappointing.

Ordered a dress from there on Wednesday eve. And chose 2 day shipping. I wrongly assumed that meant I would get it Friday night. I needed it for Saturday night. NOPE. 2 day shipping to them means the following MONDAY by 8 p.m. "we think". The customer service rep was rude and kept telling me that Monday by 8 pm. was 2 business day shipping. NO! That is 3 business day shipping. I asked for a credit of just the 2 day shipping fee. I did not get it. VERY DISSATISFIED! I will never order from here again. I should have checked this site - found out BOSTON PROPER has a 1 star review. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!
So frustrated…I had ordered and paid for a present in early December in hopes of assuring delivery on time for Christmas. Boston Proper website said 5-7 days for delivery. The delivery has still not been made on January 2nd. I have called them four times and after half hour sessions with the service department I get the same story. They hired FedEx to deliver to a PO Box which of course FedEx doesn't do. Then they say that FedEx has proof of delivery to a crème colored residence door in a different community.They suggest I call FedEx but of course FedEx was not delivering for me.They work for Boston Proper. I get promised a call back within 48 hours GUARANTEED but no one ever calls back. No delivery, no refund to my credit card and no help what-so-ever. Please don't shop Boston Proper. You can't trust them.
I Ordered a belt from this company in August. The belt arrived on time, but was too small. I started a return, then shipped the belt back. The shipping company provided me with tracking information proving that the belt was received by the Boston Proper returns department. They never returned my money. I've tried calling numerous times, and each time they lie and say my refund is being processed. I've seen numerous other reviews across multiple sites where other customers have experienced the exact same issue. Boston Proper is a corrupt company, and I will make this fact known to every customer or potential customer that I can! Buyer definitely beware!
I bought this dress for 155$ and was amazed by poor fabric choice and terrible execution. They used a very thick ugly band/tape as a waist trim. All 3 bands stitched together and give you a very bulky unpleasant look. The fabric is very wrinkled and looks cheap. This dress will fit only flat chested woman.
The worst part that I can't return the dress. It was on final sale. Total garbage and cheap crap.
Bought linen side slit pants. Loved them until I washed them. The lining was hanging 2 inches longer than the pants. (Washed in cold water and hung up to dry). Customer service said cannot refund or exchange after washing and removing the tags. That's the whole problem! After washing I saw the defect. They were lovely before that! Lost me as a customer. Customer service was awful.
Boston Proper is unethical with their business practices. I ordered clothing on 3/11/23, received my order on 3/17/23 and returned select items that did not fit on 4/1/23. They owe me a refund of approx $300. Every time I call I'm told it will be processed. I've called 4 times so far and it's the same story. The customer reps lie to me.
This company has major cash flow issues and is harming their customers by not issuing refunds in a timely manner and lying when their customers call to follow up.
Unfortunately, it looks like there are many complaints similar in nature.
Oh why didn't I read the reviews of this company first! Exactly as the others say, the quality of their clothes is horrible - one of the items I received had a broken zipper, the other was just bad rough and cheap looking dress - all with an extremely high price tag even on final sale! (Which, incidentally, means I can't return or exchange this mess). I think they lure in new naive customers like myself and that's how they make money. And they don't allow honest reviews on their site either. They are horrible! I will never shop there again and hope that more people will see this and avoid them too.
5 to 10 years ago, BP had great quality products and I shopped frequently with them. Recently I ordered a few tops on "sale" that I could have picked up at Walmart for a 1/3 of the price. They should be ashamed of themselves! Not only that, but their website is so slow that it's not worth the time or my battery life that it eats up! I'm done with this company
Final sale items, no returns. No, thanks! I've been buying from Boston Proper for 20+ years. I've never seen this. $100 for a final sale sweater, $88, $59…these aren't "deals" per se. There's a lot of sale items I'd love to buy and who knows may have kept it all, but no returns and I don't even know how it will fit? That's too risky. You can keep it all. There's other places to purchase from. People work too hard for their money to get caught up in something like that. Consider revising your policy and I'll bite again.
