The fine print is a huge reason to avoid this place. The rules for return are strategically designed so that if anything goes wrong you will not be able to return within the refund time limit and you will not be getting your money back. The time period actually starts from the date of the order not when you actually receive and see the diamond. They also refuse to help you shop for alternatives if you try to prepare for the narrow time frame of exchange. If you're comfortable risking your ring budget then it's no big deal. But if you are like me and it is an investment then avoid this fine print trap.

I was planning on giving my wife a very Special ring for our 25th Anniversary, after visiting all of the online sites and stores in San Diego and Los Angeles CA. I contacted Brilliance, Anthony Cappola was the sales person that contacted me and I told him what I was looking for, I still had a full year to make my mind on the right diamond, for the whole year Anthony kept sending me different stones that met my desires. I went on a trip to Hong Kong, India and Dubai one month before our Anniversary and I look for Diamonds while we wore there to compere prices and I still came back and bought a 6+ Carat round diamond from Brilliance. After I made my mind, my 25th Anniversary was in 4 days Anthony and Jonathon went the extra mile to make sure I had it on my hand on that Special day. First and foremost, I would like to thank and commend Anthony, who I initially started working with to build a custom engagement ring for my fiancé a few months back, for being extremely patient and taking what has seemed like so much time out of days on end to answer all of my questions! Like most people I would assume, I was very skeptical at first to make such a large purchase on an engagement ring online. I visited numerous websites and went to several jewelers before pulling the trigger and going with Brilliance. Anthony gave me many different options when it first came to picking out a diamond and staying within my budget. I was very particular with every single detail and step in the process to designing the ring. For not actually working with someone face to face, Anthony made it seem very personable by always communicating and keeping in touch with me through the entire process. My entire experience, from designing the ring that I first found on another site and having Brilliance design it with a few small changes, to working with Anthony, and also receiving the ring was just amazing. I could not say enough about Brilliance or the staff that they have when it comes to being patient and not pressuring you to make a decision right away. To top it all off, the value of the stones you were to buy from Brilliance is astonishing! At your request, you are able to have them send you the stone or stones you pick out off of their site to your location to personally inspect and have it appraised. In my case, I had this done and brought it to an independent jeweler to have the stone appraised and I was very pleasantly surprised to know that the 4 C's (color, clarity, cut, and carat weight) of the diamond I had purchased from Brilliance was appraised much higher than I bought it for! I Whether you are well educated in knowing about gem stones or not, Brilliance and their staff are very well informed in assisting you through the entire process. I ordered an engagement ring to be modeled on a Cartier design. They assured me it would be an exact copy.
It turned out to be anything but. I highlighted in the design stage that the claw setting was much larger than the original but they informed me it would polish down smaller during the manufacturing process.
When it arrived the finish was in my opinion appalling. The claw was as large as I had feared and each claw was round in shape while the original is shaped more like an eagle talon.
The side channel walls were irregularly and poorly polished and the channel set diamond settings protruded above the channel at random heights with one particularly high.
Finally the under part of the settings were not polished and seemed to be left as cast. The overall impression I had was one of really cheap quality and no attention to detail.
They offered to take it back and rework it but I didn't have any confidence in them doing a better job second time round plus I had also paid nearly $700 in import taxes and a fiancé waiting for her ring so it would have been tricky and time consuming.
So I took it to an ex Graf diamond jeweller who removed the main claw and made one to the original design, removed the diamonds and repolished everything to an amazing standard, he also replaced two of the diamonds that had cracks in which I had not noticed.
So on one side It cost me a lot for a ring that I ended up just using for spare parts, but on the other side I discovered a true craftsman who I will be doing a lot more business with

I posted this review originally on Trustpilot and within 2 mins had a call from the Brilliance management indicating they would have liked the chance to remedy the situation which was a nice touch, however they then proceeded to dispute the transaction even took place to get it removed and I have just had to send the order details through to get it reinstated which of course is a little more hassle.
I have sent photos to them in the meantime to confirm the points made, it will be interesting to see if this review is challenged or if they are serious in proving they care about the customer experience.

After searching numerous local jewelers and getting totally frustrated, I decided to search the internet for a diamond ring since a few of my buddies said they have had a great experience with Brilliance. I did a google search and Brilliance.com was one of the first companies that came up in my search. After reviewing their website for awhile and their Education section (which is the best tool ever) I decided to get on the Live Chat and ask the reps a few questions. Not long after, I decided to give them a call and the Sales Department was more than glad to help me. I explained that I saw a few rings that I really liked locally and they requested that I send them a few pictures and let them know what I liked from each ring. Once I did that, they came back with a quote for my Custom made Ring. The price seemed like it was too good to be true so I read a bunch of reviews and decided to make my deposit to get started.
Everyone was so professional and was enthusiastic to help. I worked closely with one of the sales reps to make the exact changes I wanted to the ring and the 2nd draft of the ring was perfect. I then had to pick out a center stone. (I thought to myself, this is great) I am sitting at home designing my ring and don't have to be bothered by any pushy sales people. If I didn't want to speak with Brilliance, I didn't answer the phone or reply to emails. I was able to do it at my convenience, which I loved. I finally recieved the ring and it was everything I was expecting and more. We then returned to have our wedding bands made.
Now 2 years later, my wife wanted a new ring and the first thing I did was call Brilliance. We just finished designing her new ring and I can't wait to see it.
A+++ always return phone calls or emails within a day... never tried to make me purchase an item that wasn't in my price range...

When the owner, Jonathon Ohayon, became aware of my dissatisfaction, he personally called me and worked with me every step of the way to make things right. He impressed me with his concern for his customers and his desire to make sure that his company really delivered. I would definitely recommend Brilliance to friends and family, and I am considering using Brilliance again for our wedding rings…

Very nice and promised all sorts of things up front, but once they received my money the customer service just stopped! I called to check on the status of the ring on a Thursday and Anthony Cappola promised to call me back with info. No response by friday evening. I called and spoke with another woman asking for an update on the ststus of the ring on friday. She did not know but promised to call me within 30minutes. Nope! Not so much! I received NO response whatsoever thru Monday evening. So I called back and after another hour, finally got a call from Anthony. Only problem is that i was told some story about the diamond not even being delivered to them. The ring was suppose to be in my hands by Wednesday! Proposal plans COMPLETELY shot. (we discussed all this upfront before I sent money - and Anthony personally said he could make this happen).
Honestly, if they had just let me know what was going on, or just shot me a short email saying "sorry, we are working on it", I would have probably been okay with all this. I'm not unreasonable and things can happen. I just was disappointed with the utter lack of customer service and complete disregard/disrespect for my concerns.
Ring was flawless and honestly has some of the best prices I've seen. My ring was GIA certified and resizing process was smooth thanks to Jonathon.

I did my Homework about diamond. After learning everything about Diamond on Blue Neil, I finally decide the specific diamond I wanted. I shopped around for the cheapest price for that specific GIA certified Diamond. I found Brilliance, I compared Blue Neil to Brilliance (Blue Neil is 3-5 thousand more expensive compare to Brilliance). I even call Blue Neil to match up the price because I did not trust Brilliance. However, after talking and emailing back and forth with Brilliance and do more research/ratings about the store, I finally decided to buy it from them. I think that was the greatest decision I have made. When I receive the diamond, I went to the jeweler to get it check at to make sure the diamond is authentic and up to GIA qualification. My jeweler told me "it was a great buy, the diamond look beautiful, the price was a wholesale price" The only negative aspect is that: it took a little more than two weeks for me to receive the diamond and I have to contact them for process update occasionally. I was freaking out, but my representative, Anthony, really helped me. He was very patience with me and assures me about the process.
Otherwise I am very satisfy with my purchase. I told my coworkers, families and friends all about Brilliance. I will definitely do business with them again.
The only advice I would say is: make sure you do your homework, know what you want and ask questions if you are not sure about something. The representatives will guild you. Make Sure You buy GIA certification, it worth every penny.
I have loved Aascher cut diamonds since I first saw one. I hoped to someday own a perfect, two carat Aascher pendant. This cut is hard to find, and when I did it was overpriced, and not really what I wanted. I knew I was going to be spending a significant amount, and I didn't want to just settle for just whatever was available. Then I found Brilliance. I searched Aascher cut diamonds, and found hundreds! So I narrowed my search to E or F color, VS1 or better, and just under two carats (to eliminate the over-a-carat jump in price). Within my budget range, I found a stone that was much better than I anticipated being able to afford: F Color, VVS1, Ideal Cut, and around 1.9 Carats, as I recall.
I visited that diamond online at least 30 times before I finally decided to take the plunge. I knew it had high fluorescent, which was find with me, but I spoke with a representative to ensure that it would not have the milky look that some fluorescent diamonds have. He personally checked the diamond in various light, and assured me that it would not look milky.
I finally ordered it, and when it arrived I was amazed at its breathtaking beauty. It came with a certificate, listing all of its attributes, including the microscopic inclusion that kept it from being rated Flawless. Just to be confident
Just to reassure myself, I took the diamond to an independent appraiser. Even with the diagram showing where the inclusion was, it took her a long, long time to locate it under GIA magnification. She gave me an appraisal that was a full 25% above the Brilliance price!
I had my diamond mounted as a pendant by our jeweler friend, and I wear it constantly. It is truly magnificent, and I don't plan to ever by a diamond from anyone but Brilliance.

Let me start by saying I am an avid online shopper. I have had am amazon account since they day they were in business and I read reviews before I buy almost everything from water, pens and shoe sizes before I commit to a purchase. I am the kind of person that will utilize any intelligence that I can to avoid mishap with my purchase. This is obviously the smartest way to buy anything because it minimizes the majority of this risk and allows to to be comfortable with your purchase before it even hits the door. If you are like me then you must read this review.
I have done an excess amount of online and in store research prior to making my engagement ring purchase. This is something that is a must when purchasing such a high value item, that is not only expensive but is an icon her friends and the world will salivate over.
I went will Brilliance because: Obviously the price. Brilliance is significantly less expensive than any other online diamond shop (yes cheaper than BN!). This was most important to me however, what I discovered next that no online research or forums will tell you is the value and customer service that Brilliance provides is absolutely amazing.
They are a family owned business with an actual store front. They actually see your diamond before they ship it out to you and they have their own Competent STAFF personnel that work on your jewelry. They are skilled trade professionals. If the diamond business had a union these guys would be in it. There is more to Jewelry than just the 4 c's and these guys incorporate that into their work. They have over 30 years in the trade and they pass that kind of craftsmanship down to you. You can call in and talk to COMPETENT customer service and you are actually talking to people who live and work in the USA. They arranged for me to pick up my ring at a secure FedEx location so that I didn't ruin the surprise and I was able to not have to be home to sign for it.
When I got my ring It came in very nice presentable gift box and inside that box I received: The ring inside an smaller high quality ring flip box (the cushioned box the diamond sits in that you flip open to propose), a small cleaning cloth, the certificate (mine was GIA) in a protective laminated covering so that the paper will not age and the IMPORTANT officially embossed appraisal document (you will need this to insure the ring).
They answered all my questions and the look, color, sparkle of the diamond has surpassed what I thought it would be! I can not thank you enough I hope others will get to utilize this kind of craftsmanship!

I contacted Brilliance about a custom ring. Jennifer was very responsive and informative and was able to quote a price that was cheaper than I could find anywhere else. I sent in the design I wanted and they rushed the whole process to produce the ring. I paid extra for overnight shipping as I was working to propose in a short time frame, but unfortunately, there was an issue with Fedex and the ring did not arrive in time. They claimed they made an attempt to deliver and left a note on my front door, but I had multiple people waiting eagerly to receive and sign for the ring. I got an email immediately after the driver said he/she made an attempt and left a note, and this was impossible as I was right there waiting. I have a long and narrow driveway. Nobody came up, nobody left a note. This is the fault of Fedex, and in particular, the driver that lied for who knows what reason.
Why I feel Brilliance ties into this is because Brilliance paid Fedex for the overnight fee, not me. I paid Brilliance. Fedex said they could do nothing for me. I contacted Brilliance to see if I could be refunded the overnight fee, and was met with a rude call by a customer service representative by the name of John. He made it incredibly difficult to even explain my situation as he was constantly interrupting me, and he made it a point to emphasize every time I was wrong, based on the reports he had. Such as when I said the ring was not delivered he cut me off and said loudly he could see on the report from Fedex they made an attempt and delivered the next day. Obviously that is what's on paper. And they did not deliver. I had to go and pick the ring up myself the next day, even though it was already too late. John also barked at me when I said Jennifer quoted me a different time frame had I not paid the overnight fee, saying "WRONG wrong you are 100% incorrect. We would never send you an order that quickly if it was under $2000."
Anyway, to me the most important thing is that I got the ring in the end and I am happy with the actual ring. However, because what I thought would be a simple inquiry about a shipping fee turned into a nasty phone call with someone who I believe should not be in the customer-service industry, I, unfortunately, do not see myself working with Brilliance in the future.
