I see a lot of folks giving Buya a bad rap, but they are blaming the platform for the merchants using it. I have never had a bad experience on Buya, but then I have paid attention to who I am buying from. Make sure that the seller has mostly positive feedback, a good return policy, and ask questions prior to purchase. Asking the seller a question can show you what kind of customer service experience you might have.
I don't like a site that doesn't let you browse things without shoving a "sign up now" message in my face. You literally can't look at this site without signing up. Second, don't buy from the store FAST & EASY PAWN. They list items up for sale, saying available for shipping, but when I placed my order for a microwave they had the order was cancelled the next day claiming "cannot ship." Should have thought of that before listing it up with a shipping fee. Now the listing is back up with new text reading "in store only." Waste of my time.

Be prepared for forced sign up.

In my experience (worst purchasing experience of my life) I've discovered that buya is a site built for corrupt pawn shops to screw people over. I purchased a used IMAC that didn't work and the entire return process was a run around. I contacted buya as well and was directed to some pawn shop related representative. I will never purchase from buya again. Live and learn but seriously these people need to be shut down.
Bought a Playstation 2 from Pawn 1st through Buya.com. The item was listed "as new" for $41.99, received it as planned but guess what, the Playstation did not work!
I sent an email to Pawn 1st LLC who said they would refund the package IF I sent the console back. Which I did, for $19.87... I then sent an email to Buya to see how customer protection works on their end, since the item was not as advertised, only to be royally ignored... I sent another message which was ignored again! I then decided to call and no one answered...
Conclusion? I don't even know if a human being works at Buya.com.
Do not do any business on Buya.Com or with Pawn 1st LLC they are scammers.
Signed up and bought a guitar tuner yesterday. Paid for it. All good… so I thought. This morning I tried logging in to check the status and get a message "account locked due to security reasons", and the item I bought is still available for sale on the site, despite having been paid for. No messages or email or anything from Buya to explain to me why my account has been locked?
Tip for consumers:
Don’t

I get it. A lot of these people have had bad experiences with the stores they purchase from. I spend a lot of time on Buya and I carefully select the companies I do business with on Buya. I've purchased about 10 things on this website and I have had a wonderful experience every time. I typically buy presents on here, so I look for things in like new or great condition. Most even come with the box. Great deals on electronics! I suggest making offers, I've always gotten a better deal than the price listed.
Tip for consumers:
Pay attention to the seller feedback. Buy from sellers with good feedback to ensure you have a good experience.
Tool purchased states "Very good condition". Upon receipt tool was found to be not in very good condition, but was in poor condition with damage to the sole plate excessive soiling, build up of saw dust and much staining and marring of tool motor housing.
I ordered thru Buya from a store called American Pawn #3 out of Baton Rouge. Item took nearly 2 weeks to arrive. Was shipped a week after I ordered it. Their website said items ship 1~3 days. No response to emails. That got my BP raised. However, the item arrived and was better than described so I guess Ill let the small stuff go. But I would be extra cautious in the future. ALSO, use a credit card when payingyoull be protected when you file a claim should you need to. Good luck to all
Tip for consumers:
Be cautious
I purchased a Nikon D5000 SLR camera that the listing claimed had a built-in flash. It doesn't--it only has a flash mount. Despite buya.com's supposed policy of 7-day returns from its sellers this listing stated "no returns" (therefore no way to initiate a return online). But it is significantly NOT as described and both the seller and buya.com are not responding in a timely or effective fashion. I now had to open a dispute through Paypal (I WILL get my money back!). I really, really should have paid attention to the mostly poor reviews of buya.com. Live & learn I guess...
I ordered a 7" Digital prism TV thru Buya.com from Loan Star Pawn in Florida. After unboxing, I found no wall power supply, and unit had no battery. The ad said "all original accessories included" "no remote control included" I was OK with no remote but needed the other things that were not disclosed as missing. I would have had to pay about $30.00 in shipping ( both ways) to return. I just ordered the missing parts from Ebay. VERY unhappy, don't buy from these crooks! Rating: 0
I bought a used iPod that was described to be working perfectly with cosmetic damages. I didn't mind the scratches but I was upset to find that the hard drive doesn't fully work. I emailed within the 7 day window to return the item but they never responded to my two emails. Never buying from this site again. $150 down the drain.
I purchased an item that was listed as "Like New". What I received was in fair cosmetic condition and it didn't work at all. This was from a shop (Pawn shop like the rest of the seller) that had many positive reviews.
Now I needed to return and item and get a refund. The only contact info was a direct mailto: to the Pawn Shop. No responses. I then shipped the item back (at my expense) and can't get a response or refund. Buya is completely out of the picture. Looks like I'll be contacting my credit card company.
But if I didn't shop at Buya I would have saved myself the time, hassle, and the cost to ship the item back.
I bought tools from the site. The shipping order listed all of the tools, but I only received part of my order. It also said that the rest would be shipped. When I called and Emailed them they said that the two items where not in the counter offer. I disagree. If it is listed on their letter head then they should have had it.
Buyers be where.
Hi Steve P.,
I apologize that you didn't get everything you thought you ordered. Can you please email me the name of the store that you purchased from, along with your order number?
I'd love to try and get this resolved for you.

This is a fraudulent website designed to get your information. The service is below toxic. They have no direction or professionalism. The website is a crap shoot. It sells items for a bunch of trashy local pawn shops, including FAST N EASY PAWN!
Bought a beats pill that said works. When I got it, it didn't work and was really beat up. Tried to return thru buya they said I had to go thru the pawn shop, pawn shop said I had to return thru buya. What a nightmare and loss of money l.
Seller offer a make offer on an item he had listed to sell for $29.99. I made an offer of $25.00. He made a counter offer of $29.98 and stated this was the best he could do. I thanked him for wasting my time.
Buyer be aware: they do sell the fake items
Seller be aware: they don't sell for your items.
They have their own people.
They are a little bit slow on replying the message too.
Sometimes never reply.
Hi Toan T.,
Thank you for your feedback.
Buya is a marketplace for customers that use our POS (Bravo Store Systems) and shoppers. We have a strict policy against merchants selling fake or counterfeit items, and I encourage you to report those sellers.
If you would like to sell some of your stuff, we have the Buya Trading Exchange. Note that your items will not actually be posted for sale to Buya. Rather, a merchant will be notified that you would like to sell something. The merchant may contact you and buy, loan, or trade the item listed. For more information on that, click here - http://www.buya.com/Home/TradingExchangeInfo
Your feedback is very helpful, and we will continue to train the stores that wish to sell on Buya. I encourage you to reach out to me directly if you have additional questions or concerns at tally@buya.com.
Always here to help,
Tally M.
My warning signs about Buya came instantly, when I could not browse their "aisles" (take a look at what is on the site), without signing up and providing my email address. Then I found this site, and the incredibly bad way some of the buyers have been treated.
I will note that the treatment of dissatisfied buyers is MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than the few satisfied buyers. "The squeaky hinge gets the oil", and if it does not, the door stops working! Buya seems to not care very much about some very shabby service and treatment of some customers. I hope the site fails quickly, before too many people are hurt by such incredibly bad business practices as are demonstrated by the complaints such as this one I am adding my 2 cents worth to.
Some of the dealers are charging a "HANDLING CHARGE" along with the shipping charge. I was charged an extra $20 for a handling charge. I did not notice it, as most dealers are pretty fair, until I paid. Shipping should have been less than $15. I was charged $35 with the handling fee.
I made one order off of here and received a heavily damaged item that had been labelled as "like new" and used stock photos. I wrote both Buya and the seller and never heard back from either.
This site is basically just a hodgepodge of pawn shops, with no real regulation. The one I ordered from had a stellar "Buya rating"- but once I actually looked into them, they had plenty of complaints. You can't trust shady sites like these- you'll have issues half the time and nobody will care.
***Update: The company that sold me the damaged item started spamming me by email, regular mail, and even text. Their name is iPawn, in case you're wondering.
I purchased a Garmin nuvi 2589LMT. It doesn'tshows traffic data. Missing traffic receiver cable. In sellers listing stated "Complete Includes all cords, cables, connectors, and attachments as included by factory".
Despite buya.com's supposed policy of 7-day returns from its sellers this listing stated "no returns" (therefore no way to initiate a return online). I have purchased a couple of things from the buya site, the only disappointment I have had so far is the lack of accurate description's but you can google the item for the information you need but my only true disappointment is everything and every seller will not ship denying tou the opportunity of great deals.
Hi Carlton,
Thank you so much for the great review.
We sincerely appreciate your business and thanks for shopping at Buya!
Regards,
Tally Mack
I put in an order through them for a laptop. This was to be a birthday present for a friend of mine. After a few days I noticed the payment had not gone through. No notice sent to me, btw. Checking the website, I found the order was listed as CANCELLED. There was nowhere on the website to contact BUYA. I contacted the original seller, and learned that BUYA itself had cancelled the order as "fraudulent" because the shipping and billing addresses had different zip codes!
Tip for consumers:
Do not.

Bought a laptop and paid for it the same day on buya.com, from a pawn shop named, ( BBE/BK-KICKZ) only to find out about a week later, the pawn shop canceled the order and their reason was because the item was ( Mispriced). How is that my problem? I paid for the full asking price, plus shipping, only to find out this a week later?
I feel like they owe me interest too plus the amount I spent, because that's unacceptable. I Contacted buya customer service and they promised a call back within couple of hours, this is almost 4 days later, no call back. They give people's false hope, and I feel like buya.com, don't give a rat about the consumers.
I will be filling a complaint with the states attorney General office and FTC,
Worst service I have ever seen. Bunch of pawn shops with zero customer service. Will never answer any issues or points... do yourself a favor and stay away
