Yesterday, 9/23 my bank finally credited me for the defective modem this company sent me a month ago 8/22 I returned 8/26 because (1.) It was not refurbished as they claimed but just used because they did not even do a factory reset and still had prior used account info in it (2.) It was defective and CenturyLink support could not get it to work as the wifi transmission would cease to work within 5 to 10 minutes of start up costing time and lots of frustration. (3) Company attitude is the worst ever... "too bad so send it back at your cost for refund or replacement." It has been 25 days since it was delivered back for a refund at my cost and they still did not refund the money. I had the credit card charge reversed of course at my time to complete the documentation and at my cost to send back their defective product. Never ever would I recommend this company who does not even have a phone number to call.
The modem I purchased was not compatible with my verizon service and their response was unprofessional and condescending. I am trying to get my money back now and I am not hopeful but I will continue to post these reviews so that scam companies like this one do not take advantage of others.
Bought a modem from them and it can not be activated because it is registered on another users account. We've spent several hours trying all the recommendations. Customer support is rude and accusatory and saying the item must be "defective" before a return is issue.
They sent me a modem with an underpowered power adapter that belonged to another device. I don't care about the source of the power adapter as much as I do the loss in amperage to the device. The modem also came with a paper pleading with me to attempt settling disputes with them before writing a negative review, which I did. However, they just replied with a generic reply referring to the fine print, basically stating they can send me whatever they want. I replied, and have not received a response. Well, I tried... Now I'm going to buy my own power adapter. Next time I'll stick to trusty eBay or Amazon.
Bought an item from these guys, which turned out not to work for my service. It took 3 weeks to arrive (forcing me to purchase another item from Amazon to ensure I didn't lose my appointment with technician). When I reached out to customer service (via email, you can't even speak with anyone on the phone) for a return label, I was told I needed to pay for shipping myself (in a very rude way). After another three weeks or so, I had to reach out again for my refund. I received an email from them that they had refunded me the entire cost of the modem. But what was actually refunded was about 66% of the total cost. AVOID AT ALL *******@buyourownmodem - You have lost a customer and I will ensure you do not get any business from anyone around me. Companies like yours does not deserve to be in business.
Very sorry to hear that you are not being honest as it upon further research it looks like you selected our free shipping and passed on our expedited shipping of which the item was delivered with our free shipping time frame of 4-10 days. Also, per our return policy that was provided and accepted by you at time of checkout you were told this would be the shipping time and were also told that returns could take up to 30 days to be processed and so nothing happened that wasn't told to you before you completed checkout. The item was returned in fully functional condition and so per our return policy you were assessed a restocking fee and were never told at any time that you received a full refund so again that is very dishonest that you try and add such false info as everything was handled just as we said it would per our return policy. In reality we don't have this problem very often thank goodness and in fact have THOUSANDS OF POSITIVE REVIEWS on our website, over 95% positive feeback on Amazon, and are a Top rated seller on Ebay with years of taking care of our customers as you can't just "Fake" reviews on these sites but I understand how you would need to say that in order to make it look like you are not the 4% of people who just flat out didn't read what you were buying and then went on a witch hunt after the fact when you found out this was the case.
We certainly try and our best to serve our customers the best we can as is proven by our track record on multiple sites but unfortunatley we can't prevent customers who don't read before they buy and just make assumptions and unfortunatley we are bound to have a few and it makes it tough try and help but the review sites such as this provide a great environment for such to vent instead of take responsibility.
Quickly received the CORRECT modem for my OPtimum. I highly recommend this company to get rid of your monthly rental cost. The modem was only $55.00 and my rental was $10. Per month. Extremely simple to set up, you do need to call Optimum with the serial number. Optimum will email you a return label for free to mail rental back or you can drop it off at the nearest OPtimum store. Your credit starts when they receive the rental back. Wish I had done this years ago!
Modem/router came with fast shipping. Followed the automated instructions, then had Xfinity do a reset and
He unit came to life. Has been working now for two weeks. It seems to be even better then the unit I was leasing from Comcast. Thanks for a great product.
I purchased a modem from buyyourownmodem.com and then discovered it would not work with my internet provider. They were happy to accept my return which I appreciated however 1. I was responsible for return shipping which I did using USPS for $21.90. Then they charged me a restocking fee of $38.59. The purchase price for the modem was $127.96. So after subtracting the return shipping and the restocking fee total of $60.49, I essentially got a refund of $67.47. Of course everything is spelled out in their terms and conditions but I get stuck because the product did not work with ISP.
I would stay away from this company. I ordered a modem and when it came in, it was clearly a used product(not even in an original box). Comcast would not activate the modem, saying this modem model was not intended for sale. The cable company basically said it was stolen. This company wants you to tell Comcast that it's a different model. I didn't even hook it up after that. Read their return policy carefully! I had to pay to ship the item back($17.15). It then took almost the 30 days for a refund to the credit card, minus the 20 to 30 percent restocking fee. It was a waste of time and money for me. ALSO... They offer a $5 dollar rebate for a good review... maybe why there are so many good reviews on their website?
Very sorry for any confusion but unfortunately we don't and never have offered this item as new and in fact right on the items descriptioin page we do list this item to be in refurbished condition, provide a specific definition for such condition, and then also provide an item by item list of what would be included. The majority of our customers love this unit for Comcast but I can see how if you didn't read anything and just assumed it was new in a form that was never listed then you might be disappointed. This despite even being presented with a notice stating that before you can complete checkout please confirm that you have read the items description page word for word as you can't complete checkout from us without acknowledging or accepting such terms so that we can prevent these preventable misunderstanding from happening. Also, as you pointed out we do try our best to try and assist you with Comcat based on our experience and have great success but you wanted to complain rather than follow the instructions we gave you. Also, this is not even a Comcast part number so common sense would tell you that it certainly is not "stolen" from Comcast but unfortunately you fell for what they fed you instead of follow our instructions including calling the executive number we provided for them which could have resolved your problem. Nonetheless, we issued you an RMA and the return was processed and refunded for you in accordance with our return policy.

Work perfectly right out of the box absolutely no issues at all. I suggest saving a configuration file from the modem you're currently renting if you do sell it it's simply upload it when you install this new one and it will work exactly the same literally took me no more than five minutes to set up.
Answer: Yes, another similar company is Dontleaseyourmodem.com
Answer: We offer both new and refurbished item as each items description page will list the items condition with a specific definition as to the items condition as well as will list each and every accessory that will be included. We offer a 1 year extended warranty with most of our items so our customers can buy with confidence and can't lose money vs renting the modem for a year.
Answer: Works great, easy set up! No problems what so ever!

Very sorry to hear that the item you purchased is not compatible with your provider. We do state in our purchase terms that it is the buyers responsibility to check with their provider BEFORE PURCHASE so that we can prevent such problems as this as it isn't a fun experience for either party when dealing with returns that could have been avoided and I am sorry if this sounds condescending but unfortunately it is true in such cases. Also, we have installed THOUSANDS of units on the Verizon Fios network and would have been happy to assist you just the same if you would have reached out to us before purchase if you weren't sure what to get. However, you have already been given return authorization as we do still allow for returns in accordance with our return policy and so as soon as you are done leaving reviews and make an effort to send the item back then we would be more than happy to get the refund issued accordingly. We have been in business almost 8 years now and have strived to accomplish over 96% positive feedback on Amazon and Ebay as a power seller to go along with over 3000+ positive reviews on our websites so for everyone but the 4% who don't read before they buy I would say our customers have been quite happy with our service. We are sorry it didn't work out and that you aren't happy with the restocking fee terms of our policy but our employees families won't seem to agree to pay for customers mistakes that could have been prevented by simply checking compatibility with their provider before buying.
