Do not be deceived by this fake credit card company. They pretend to treat you as a "Valued Customer". Nothing could be further from the truth.
When the chips fall down, when there is fraud on your account or you are scammed they immediately take the other side. They do not support their customers nor do they care
If you report how you were treated and if they loose your business.
Do yourself a favor and do not sign this credit card company.
I was wirh Capital One for years. Closed my account at the end of Oct 2023. Had a balance on it. I called twice to see when it would be mailed out. The first person said it would be end of Jan. The second person asked me if i wanted it my refund mailed. Who even asks that? Its my money and Capital One should have mailed it, no questions asked without me having to ask for my money back. I left them because the i interest is high, annual fee is bull$#*! and no rewards. I got a new card where the Interest was way lower and I get reward points.
Initially yhey they said I can just switch which card online, but today when I called they said no I have to call. I said well if I need to charge something to one card and then something to a different card while I'm in line at the store, I can't get on the phone and call while people are waiting behind me. He said well you just make a bank transfer and I'm like I can't do that because that'll cause issues for my accountant. For a bank company, they don't seem to understand accounting principles. So if you have two accounts where you need to separate debit cards, Capital One is not the bank for you.
I Tried to call customer service about my account. The automated system tells you to type in digits but it cant understand them. After saying customer service 25 times I got a woman with a thick indian accent who talked and talked but never listened and then ASSUMED I wanted to cancel my payment. WHAT? Then when I yelled NO! She said mam there is really no need to yell. And kept on talking. NEVER understanding what I was saying because she likes the sound of her own voice so much I ended up hanging up while she was still talking! OMG This is horrible and I will never use this card again!
All of a sudden, Capitol One said my payments were linked to an invalid account. This is the same checking account that I have always used to make payments. The account is in good standing. Funds are available. They restricted my account due to three invalid payments. They said in order to re-instate the account, I would have to pay the amount of all returned payments. I paid $600 with the debit card tied to the account that they claimed was invalid. They still have not activated my account. Everything on my end has always been in order. The morons at Capitol one messed up something and they don't know anything about it. They just repeat the same thing over and over again like birds. It is a great service until they skrew it up. Once there is an issue. Nobody there has any idea what they are doing or how to fix it.
I wish I could give a zero. This is one of the worst financial institutions that have hiked their interest rates sky high robbing customers of their hard-earned money. I have the Walmart Credit Card that they took over and I can see why Walmart is suing them and searching for another institution to carry their card. They are blocking Walmart from making money because they steal all the money in interest rate charges. I hope Walmart will hurry and switch over. They are stealing money from customers to recoup all the money they lost in lawsuits. "Robbing from Peter to pay Paul". Scumbags and hope they get another lawsuit and shut them down!
Have my account is 0,they didn't call or tell me
I missed the payment, now I have to pay 200 in fees that I knew because my credit showed a negative activity. Never call or send a letter. I forgot I have that card because I never use it. Now I'm closing my 3 cresting cards with capital one. Worse bank i know.
I was surprised when I was defrauded by a company with a fake check how indifferent Capital One was to helping me. There was no live person to talk to and I was repeatedly transferred to a recorded line in their "customer security" department. Ultimately, they elected to close my checking account even though I was the victim of fraud. When I question them on that the woman on the phone instantly became snotty with me and said that they could keep an account or close them as they saw fit and didn't have to justify it to their customers. Wow. That's a really great attitude.
Our Capital One accounts have been in excellent standing since 1997. Due to a recent ID theft, our only other credit card (department store) was compromised and our $23 payment was reported as delinquent by 30 days. We immediately reported the ID theft to all credit reporting agencies. Unfortunately, due to this one incident, Capital One immediately decreased both of our credit limits from $50,000 to $2,000 on each card! We have never been late on any payments and our credit scores have been between 848 and 850. Since Capital One makes it difficult to connect to someone to explain our situation, we have decided to close our accounts and sever ties with Capital One. Our families have convinced us to switch to Chase and Wells Fargo as they have had no issues with these companies.
Europcar overcharged me $202 on a rental in Iceland. I did not catch it (the overcharge) bec they billed me in the local currency. Plus, I trusted them to only charge me what they had promised to charge me. (Silly me.) Europcar would not respond to my calls and emails, so I disputed through Capital One Visa. I thought it would be a no-brainer. Instead, it was a big waste of time. I submitted to CapOne all docs necessary to prove the overcharge. Cap One provided inane form letters in response. I'm switching Visa banks over this.
I was trying to open a checking account to help allow myself to get a proper job. On the website itself I was told that there were errors and they needed more information, so it gave me the number for the call center. I called, and was assigned to a very polite and professional lady who helped me apply to open an account, but she too ran into an error and sent me to talk to a specialist. The specialist was slightly less helpful and was difficult to understand, but applied to open an account with me, only to be met with the same error stating that my account was unable to be located and could not be opened at this time. I was transferred to yet another specialist who informed me, somewhat rudely, that I would have to wait for an email to know why I was rejected. Overall, the two women were very polite and professional at the start of the 35 minute call, but by the end I was dissatisfied and somewhat annoyed by their lack of ability to understand the issue.
I've been a Capital One Card Holder since 2008 (14 years). My credit score in excellent. I recently dealt with Frontier airlines but had to cancel my flight. Frontier airlines refused to give me a refund, or a voucher for future flight. After all good faith attempts were made to resolve the matter with the merchant. I was forced to dispute the charge. After a long dispute process, I was notified by Capital One that I lost my dispute, Note I provided Capital One with several detailed affidavits citing the fact that I did not receive the service I was charged for. Despite all this I received no support from this company. I would caution anyone who is considering this CC, Any CC company that supports a merchant over its customer isn't a CC worth having.
Don't waste your time with this sh*tty company. Horrible customer service that's rude and USELESS. Restricted my account for 1 late payment and refused to unrestricted it even though I paid off balance. Canceled my credit card with them but still have an auto loan with 21% apr. They won't let you refinance either even though I've never missed a car payment. Predatory lending at its finest.
So ive been apart of this crappy company since 2017. Today i called my card after i paid 337.00 and it stated it posted but multiple of thee agents are complete incompetent bad people. Because of their mistake my card got restricted. I dislike employess that dont know rheir information. In other words I closed my account and said screw it their are better companies out there. To thee rest of the world capital one is a bad credit card company. Do not ever apply to them. The rob you for your money. Have a great day. I would rate them negative 1000% all they did was give me a freaking headache.
I've had my Credit One card for over three years, never been late, paid more than the minimum amount and had a zero balance several times and upon two occasions, have asked for a Credit Increase and was turned down, with a credit score over 710, income over 100k, debt ratio 15% and no mortgage payment as my home is paid for. The kicker is when I'd applied for the Savour card after being pre-approved and was turned down! I'm now getting ready to send them their measly $500 credit card back to them.
A scammer is using my phone # to obtain a credit card. I called customer service as soon as I mysteriously started receiving texts about receiving a new card. I was assured the texts would cease after 45 minutes on the phone. 5 days later I received 4 texts in a row concerning my confirmation code. I typed 'Stop', but I immediately got a "you have no text account with us" message. I call and demand a supervisor, but this guy simply tells me that there is nothing Capital One can do!?!? WTF? Another money grubbing, compassionless bank- surprise, surprise. How low can the bar go?
I am current on my bill at this time. I had a true disaster at my home, which was very expensive to fix and had to be fixed immediately. I did miss one or two payments, which should have been understandable. But, I quickly caught up and paid more than the required late payment amount. The reaction from CapitalOne was to reduce my credit limit. It is all about the $$$, without the least concern for their customers' emergency situations. Apparently, they were the same way during Covid, but I do not have first hand knowledge of this so cannot say for certain. I could have received incorrect information, but I doubt it. No concern at all for the human being who holds the card. I never even applied for the card. Should have refused it.
I called in to get a new card, because Capital one let the same merchant take off my card twice for the same transaction and the lady Gina #ZHJ750 was rude going to say she will hang up and rather I get a new card or not if a merchant take off your card once they can take off again. What T.F it sound like I need to close my account. Half the time I can't even understand what they are saying, then they get a attitude when you ask to speak to someone else. If there were no customers calling in you would have NO JOB. Worst company to deal with.
The worst customer service ever. I've been with them since 2005 so over 17 years now and they wouldn't waive a late payment fee as a courtesy for a long time customer that has an excellent on time payment history ( I only missed my payment by 30 minutes making it at 8:30p) ridiculous
They just told me that they will not take a payment off my debit card. They say they don't take debit cards for payment and won't tell me why. They have over 50,000 employees and use an answering service to screen their calls. The service told me that they don't have a direct number for anyone working their. Only customer no service.
Answer: No really I can't I mean from the very beginning they said they mailed it and then a week later when I called and they had not mailed it yet when I checked my bank they take the money out of my bank and then tell me they're going to hold the money for 7 days to make sure the money is there I think they take the customers for granted in a big bad way
Answer: From my experience, they appear to be nothing but a shady scam bank.
Answer: They offered nice rewards back It sounded more impressive than it is. Big mistake.
Answer: This is the same issue I'm having with Capital One. They make mistakes and then drag their feet and act like nothing is wrong.
