This CAPITAL ONE Credit Card company is horrible! I applied for credit and I make $******* a year and more as a travel nurse they only approved me for a secured lousy $200 I'm current with all my credit cards and yet capital one scars you after you file Bancrupcy. I discharged and had 3 other cards included in the discharge yet they won't approve me for any other card. I have used it responsibly for months and even have a credit. But they black ball you in any other cards and will keep you stuck with only a secured card as punishment. There is no reason why Capital one will not give me credit especially when I have a high income and nothing adverse other than a discharged Bancrupcy in 2020 yet there vindictive in giving appropriate credit cards because of discharged debt. I regret even bothering with this company. When u call they give you heavy accent customer service reps who read from a prompt. You will get no where and the run around. I really DESPISE this company and their vindictive tactics. I will give my son the card to play around with. Higher income customers deserve better! Shame on Capital One!

I earn over $650k yearly, I've had a Captial one credit card for 15 years wit a $2000 credit limit, my credit score is between 790 and 812. I have 2 Amex cards with $21k limit, and one with $23k limit, Boa with a $21k limit, Citibank with $21k limit, overall $218k in credit limit. However, whenever I ask capital for a limit increase they deny me. So finally I said go to hell $#*!s and closed the account. What a totally disconnected $#*!s running the $#*! show there. I opted to close the account. They're the worst company ever.

Stay away from Capital One credit card institution. They have the WORSE DISPUTE DEPARTMENT EVER. Their manager MICHAEL is the worse manager who will not help you with your case but do everything to get rid of your dispute/claim it does not matter how many proofs you will submit to the dispute department. Their dispute management does not know how to handle your dispute and you will end up wasting time and money. Their customers service operators are lost. They will put you on hold forever and will hang up on you.
Find another credit card institution.

I was with Capital One for many years, and I always paid on time, I was never late in payments, I also paid high interest every year. Only in the last 2 months it was difficult for me to pay, they immediately charged me late fee of $35 each month, and in addition, when I had the money to pay, I wanted to negotiate and pay the whole amount in full, I Just asked for a refund of the Late fee which is $70 only, and they REFUSED. Ended up paying the FULL amount, but I said to myself that I will NEVER, NEVER will USE Capital One!

I closed my Capital One platinum credit card account this week after 10 years of BS. I just couldnt take it anymore. There are other, better fish in the sea. Capital One has data breaches all the time. All.The.Time. (But don't worry about setting up auto payments to merchants because CO will somehow still process those long after you get a new card with a totally different number.) Their solution? Be hypervigilant about blocking purchases. Sometimes they notify you and you can click a button to say you recognize the transaction. But other times they just suspend the card - and don't notify you. If you call to get it unlocked it isnt enough to have typed in your card number and last 4 digits. Oh no - they either need to send a code to your mobile number (which per the disclaimer the rep reads to you, they can then sell) or you have to send them a copy of your driver's license which they will take 7-10 days to peruse. Those are huge red flags given their massive internal security issues, and I would recommend using another company if at all possible. Luckily I didn't have to do a single thing to prove my identity when I told them to shut down the account. They just did it, no questions asked.

I have been a customer of Capital One (IngDirect originally) since 2004. I had their "360 Savings account". Capital One claimed it is a high interest account and rates will fluctuate based on Federal reserve interest rates.

Apparently, some years ago they started a new savings account called "360 Performance Savings" with much higher interest rates. For example, the new Performance savings has a interest rate of 3.4% as of today. While the legacy account is only at 0.3% and it stopped fluctuating with Fed rates many years ago.

So I lost a lot of money over the years as my savings account silently turned into a regular savings account and stopped being a high interest account.

They didn't inform established customers of the new Performance savings account and kept people like me at 0.3%. They should have upgraded all accounts to the new type. At a minimum, they should have informed existing customers of this new account type.

I learned about this new account type yesterday. This is clearly bad faith behavior by the bank. I am in the process of closing out my account.

I can never trust Capital One again. You should not do this to long term customers to make a few bucks.

Search online for "womens money capital one cheated high interest accounts" to find other customers that got cheated the same way.

I live in Southern California. This is not their credit card. I'm happy with that. I created a Capital One CHECKING & SAVINGS account. It's been going on for over two-3 weeks now and I still don't have access to my money! If I had the strength to write everything that has happened to me since I opened the account, I would be on here forever. I activated a debit card which 2 were sent to me because the 1st one was going to arrive towards the end of the month. I complained and all they could do was expedite it and the soonest would be 5 days. Well it arrives, I activate it, I go to Albertsons market to get a money order and the card could not go through. Capital One said I used the wrong card. After a half hour speaking with CS, the supervisor couldn't even help me. I went home and activated the other card which arrived today. I try to activate it and it won't work either. I have to wait for approximately 5 more days for them to correct the activation. Seriously, what bank does this?! I'm so disappointed. People who work for this bank end doesn't know what's going on either. It's been a total nightmare.

The title is being nice. I have been doing business with Capital One for ONLY 2 months! Nothing but screw ups. 1st they INSIST on your checking account information... Not happening. Then they make it incredibly difficult to pay your bill without the checking account information. So I open a 360 checking account... LMAO You can't even deposit a money order without going INTO the branch 1 1/2 hrs away or mailing it! I have talked to ONE combatant person, and he works the credit card division. I found him after 2 hours on the phone just trying to PAY my credit card bill! Went to Walmart to pay per THEIR instructions. After I pay it, it does not post, I call in. Seems my credit card program does not include payments at Walmart, and they can't recover it. I'm just out 50 bucks! What! Supervisor please... Get the ONE person that knows what they are doing, fixes my payment and tells me EVERYTHING the other agent told me is untrue! LOL You can't make this stuff up! Seriously... If you value your time and money, stay the heck away from Capital One! They are a Capital Pain!

Verification
June 12, 2022

First, I would like to explain why I'm writing this review! I applied for a Capital One Quicksilver card, I did not need no proof of identification for the approval of the application! Received the card in the mail used it, just recently tried to get online to get into my account! It wouldn't let me in, so I called customer service like the app told me to! Then he proceeds to tell me that in order to change my phone number that's on the account I'm going to have to send in verification which is an identification picture identification! I've been proceeded to tell the customer service representative that it did not make any sense I needed a ID for verification for them to change my number! However, I needed a ID to get back into my account after the money is already spent on the credit card! Makes no sense at all whatsoever, he dismissed my comment about four times! Extremely unprofessional, this is ridiculous! Anybody could have opened a Capital One Quicksilver in my name, after he said that... I said well anybody could use my credit to get a credit card without identification to prove it was me! In conclusion, I cannot get into my account online and have to send verification over a text message! I do agree that they have ridiculous charges if you don't pay your amount on time! I'm confused at how my credit limit was started at 300! Now the balance is close to 500 not even 2 months overdue!

I never thought I'd be writing a review for a bank, but I feel like I should warn people so it doesn't happen to them. I deposited a cashier's check into my Capitol One savings account and they marked it as fraudulent. This was already pretty ridiculous because it was a cashier's check from another bank I had an account at. But rather than just not accepting the deposit, they put a hold on the money and my account. Every time I called they told me there was nothing they could do and it was my problem. I talked to multiple supervisors who all told me it was my fault and refused to help. This money was literally all I had in the world for the next 3 months and they just held it hostage. Fortunately, because I guess they hadn't processed the check or something, I was able to take it back to the original bank it was from and cash it or else I literally would've been homeless. I then continued to call and beg them to just cancel the check and release my account but they again refused and said there was nothing they could do. So while I fortunately got my check money in cash, all the other money I had in my capital one account is being held indefinitely. It's been almost 7 months and they still won't remove the hold that prohibits me from withdrawing or using my money in any way.
Please do not bank with them. They will not help you if anything goes wrong. I didn't even know a bank could just hold my money hostage on a whim but apparently they can and it's an actual nightmare.

Poooor customer service
December 15, 2022

I had not received my bill in the mail and honestly didn't even think about it until I received a late notice. I contacted their customer service on numerous occasions and in several of those instances, spoke with an individual whose english lets say... sucked! I could not understand a word he was saying. Why in the world would you put someone like that in your customer service position. I had sent a check in on November 22 and of this date December 15th, they had not received it. Ok, lets chalk it up to the US postal Service losing it. Well, speaking with one individual there, she stated she "see's the check and by tomorrow night at midnight you will be able to use your card." Ummm no, that didn't happen! In fact, speaking with several other people, they said they didn't a check whatsoever and I am still currently past due. Almost all the service members I spoke to had accents, and that's fine, however I did waste my time on a couple of occasions just adding to my frustration. One individual was very nice and waved my "one time" late fee which was very appreciated only to be charged again when I was making my payment. I know, one time but this was as much my fault as it was theirs... Neither of ours! But I still had to pay it. Very displeased with the way this was handled.

My wife and I opened a Capital One account over twenty years ago. It was a business related account, and we had no issues until 2022. I recently tried to book a motel reservation in CT for a family trip to New England. We had stayed at a Days Inn in Bethel, Ct before, and we liked the location and cleanliness of the property. I thought I had reached the property, and was quoted a price of $83.70. I booked the reservation and subsequently received an email with a price of $134.44. It turns out that I was dealing with third party reservation service. I immediately contacted Consumer Club, Inc to cancel the reservation. I received a cancellation email. It turns out that Consumer Clubs cancellation email does not reverse the room charge! I contacted Capital One to dispute the charge. Capital One denied my appeal, even though Consumer Club has a 1.8 approval rating (out of 5) and a D+ Better Business Bureau score. I immediately closed my account with Capital One. Why would any bona fide business want to lose a 21 year client over a $134.44 disputed charge, especially to a rouge business? I have never disputed a charge with Capital One before over 21 years. I am extremely disappointed with Capital One. Capital One is no longer "in my wallet"!

I have used and have had capital one credit cards for many years I even brought a car threw them with not much issues,
So I notice paying a bit above minimum was killing me and payments didn't do much on 2 cards I had about 5000,00 plus debt between them.
So I bit the bullet and paid both cards in full.
Dew date came up and they took the auto pay out on both accounts,I had zero balance!
So I called and ask that they return the money so I don't bounce my other accounts they said they would but it would take sending me a check in about 10 business days.
I told them I paid in full it was there Era and I need it now to pay other bills they politely said I can pay my bills with the card?
Why would I want to pay them more and I can't charge interest for lending them money.

So I received the refund finally a bit over 250.00
Along with another letter explaining I paid in full but there was a 45.00 interest that needed to be paid on the account.
I went on line to see what was up I looked at my 2 cards I paid totally in full and always on time and somehow there was Over 200 owed on each card.
So I call again and ask what is going on and they told me I had that much interest from the day my statement balance went out apparently 45 a day.
I aid i paid it in full before there due date she said my due date is the statement balance day and I owe!.
So I again paid 400 plus to pay cards off and then closed everything.
Capital one refused to tell me on a recorded line that my debts are satisfied with them and I wouldn't receive another bill from them ever again.

Poor customer service
April 26, 2023

I have been a customer of Capital One for many, many years. One day I went to a store to make a purchase and my card was denied. I have always paid my account off in full and in time. Without warning Capital One put a stop on my charge account. I had no idea what the issue was. In February I sent a check for $1438.70 made out to Capital One. The check was cashed by Citibank using my Capital One account number. I have spent hours on the phone with Capital One and Citibank. Nobody will help. Capital One told me there's nothing they can do. They added interest and finance charges on my bill. Citibank told me they could not identify the cashed check without a Citibank account number. There is no Citibank account number. They used my Capital One account. I spoke with supervisors and managers. They would not help. I'm not sure why Capital One would not go after s bank that cashed a check that was made out to them. I will be contacting an attorney, the news and anyone else that little listen. Absolutely unacceptable
