This company lies and steals from their customers. I'm out $300 and they can't help me apparently. Also beware they steal your debit card and other credit card information jnorder to take your money.

I was happy with Capitol One until now. Ive had a credit card with them for a couple years now. Im currently unemployed due to relocating after the pandemic. Every month I pay off the balance to avoid any interest fees and am on a tight budget. I have my account set up so that the minimum is drawn so I don't accrue a late fee if something were to happen. Usually I go in before the payment is due to look over my account and make sure all charges are correct then I will change the amount drawn to equal the balance of the bill. This particular month I was in the mountains with poor reception and was unable to access my account. As soon as i got home, the day after my bill was due, I called to make an additional payment on my account to equal the amount due that month. Both payments were taken out of my checking account at the same time however I still received a $20 interest charge and was told there us nothing they can do about it. I expressed my hesitancy to set up my auto pay for full balance due to my fear that someone would get my credit card info and make a exuberant charge to my account. I did this to protect myself from fraudulent activity. I was told by Adele that's was the fraudulent protection was for. I asked if a large amount was taken from my credit card if they would refund my checking account. She said no it would go to my credit card. Well credit is different then cash. I thought theyd appreciate the fact i take steps to protect myself from fraudulent activity instead O am punished. Doesn't make you feel like a very valuable client. Today you suck Capitol One.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
March 1, 2023

I have never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. I spoke with Gina, Employee, MX0293 as a so-called manager, and all she could do was speak over me, interrupt me, and not listen to anything that I had to say in regards to my dispute, which was closed, because they considered me to not have sufficient documentation, when I was told to send over everything that I could in regards to the process when I did that, they still closed my case and sided with the merchant I supplied a written document from the Postal Service stating that my items were damaged by the Postal Service, and they still close my case I provided pictures of when it was delivered completely opened damaged and destroyed, and they still closed my case without refunding my money. If you are thinking about opening an account with Capital One, save your time and your money because they do not fight for their customers they side with the merchant and that is not the kind of bank I want.

Almost a year ago, the security of my online savings account was compromised. Within a matter of minutes, a checking account was opened by unknown persons funded with money that was transferred from my savings account. A Capital One agent promptly closed the checking account and returned the money to my savings account. This is where the competence of Capital One ended.
I reached out to Capital One numerous times and was assured that my accounts were secure. I proceeded to make deposits and transfer money in and out of this account for the next 11 months.
Yesterday, I attempted to wire funds to a title company for a home purchase and it didn't work. After spending numerous hours on the phone, I was informed that Capital One had restricted access to my money and they would need 3-5 business days for "remediation" and to create new accounts prior to my funds being available to me. In short, a year after a fraud attempt, they had decided to protect my funds…from me!
Because of their improper handling of this issue I am at risk of losing my home purchase contract. If that happens, with only a month left on my lease I will be left scrambling to find housing for my family. Capital One was unable to reverse any of the steps that they had taken and could only tell me that I would need to wait and see if my funds would be available in time for my rescheduled closing. It goes without saying that I will never trust another dollar of my money to Capital One and will close all accounts with the institution as soon as I possibly can.

Worst customer service of my life. Do yourself a favor and sign up with the Chase United airline card. Signed up for the airline card where you get 75,000 miles if you spend $4000 in 3 months. I called asking why I never got the points, a person told me they'd be transferred to my account soon. I called asking why they still hadn't been transferred 2 weeks later and they told me that I actually wasn't going to get them because not everyone will "approved" of those points EVEN IF THEY SPEND THE MONEY! I've spent $5000 on this card and planning to use the points to visit my family outside of the country. They said they can't and won't do anything to help or make it right. They're ABSOLUTE TRASH! I'd give negative points if I could!

Capital one NO GOOD. I've been with capital one for 3 years never missed a payment. NOT One LATE payment always on time 3 years and my credit limit is still 300$. I've gotten other cards after capital one same thing starting@ $300 credit limit, and within one year the credit card limit shot up from $2000 to $4000.I will never recommend capital one to nobody. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME like I did.

The service at capital one bank in Bayshore at the Westfield mall is beyond, beyond, beyond horrific.! I feel like I'm living in the twilight zone when I go there. On a most recent visit, I handed the teller two checks for two transactions. She ended up doing one transaction and took her at least 20 minutes to rectify the situation. Also, I asked to get coins for my business. When I gave her cash for my coins, the teller told me these rolled coins came from a customer they could be more or less! The teller handed me the change and told me "that could be more or less money that's supposed to be". This tells me that they are not counting the money that's coming in, and just handing it over to the customer whether the count is right or wrong. This is pitiful pitiful pitiful! Is this even legal!?! The tellers at this branch and Bay Shore are extremely slow, and make several errors. They dress very sloppy, they display a lack of pride for their job. If people dressed better there might be some hope that they'll be able to perform better. Management is extremely poor at this location. Is this what the world is coming to?!? They need a complete overhaul with their employees, please please find someone better to work here!

Can't make deposits
December 15, 2022

While converting to a basically online presence one would think they would have a functional app/website. THEY DO NOT. It has been weeks and I still can't make a simple deposit as either it says "duplicate check" or the app won't accept the pics of the checks! DO NOT THINK OF OPENING an account here. I am writing the FDIC as they do not respond.

Totally Ruthless
October 26, 2021

I can't believe what these guys get away with. They are heartless and ruthless. I am convinced they're run by organized crime. Charge $29 overlimit fee if month end service charges put you over your measly limit. When you phone to complain, someone who can barely speak or understand English, puts you on hold for 25 minutes to look into the matter then come back with the bad news, wasting all your time. To say Capital One sucks bigtime is an understatement. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RIPOFF!

I was reading the reviews. They are either 5-star or 1-star... what's going on here. They seem to be running a good business. Can anyone help us here? A balanced review can help many.

Back in February I requested a secured (i. E requires a $49 dollar security deposit) credit card for my daughter. Capital One issued the card but when we tried to activate the card with them (in three different ways: online, by postal mailing documents, or by uploading documents) none of the activation approaches worked so activation was not made and we simply requested to have the account closed and for Capital One to simply refund our $49 back. They had all the information required to issue the refund but they simply have not done so to date (June 29,2022). We had called countless times the Fraud Protection department, every time we call we get the run around, last time I called I got transferred from one agent to another five times! But no one will do what they should have done a long time ago: Issue a refund check. This is simply the worst customer service I have ever encountered, Capital One deserves a negative 5 stars rating. Now they are asking my daughter to upload a copy of her drivers license, they sent a link for the upload, everytime we use the upload link we get the same error: "We are unable to upload your documents at this time. Please try your request again later. (Ref. *******. *******)". Their systems are junk.

I had fraud on my credit card in Mexico 6 months ago and have been supplying documentation to Capital One for all these months. Tonight I was told I am expected to pay for a charge of over $1K for gas at a gas station when I paid cash for my gas and DID NOT sign anything. A company called El Rinco Con sent in a charge for $1K+ with a fake signature to Capital One. How do you put over $1K gas in a normal car? I am very disheartened that Capital One does not stand behind it's customers. I have had 2 cards for many years and have perfect credit. I am going to continue to fight and refuse to pay this charge that I DID NOT make. I plan to cancel both cards and not pay the disputed charged that again I DID NOT MAKE! BEWARE--Do not get these credit cards as they don't care about their customers at all. They are standing behind the scammers who are literally running a crime ring in Mexico. Google Pemex gas station fraud and you will see the stories.

I deposited capital one bank ck for over ******* in my capital one checking acct. The ck was a refund from a savings acct i closed a week prior.I was emailed later that day june 3 2023 that funds would be available tomorrow june4.Then at 4am on the morning of june 5 i was sent an email from capital one that for my safety they would not make the funds available for 10 days for my protection. These are liars and scammers of the worst possible sort. In fact they were placing a ten day hold on their certified check to try to gain the interest. Stayaway from these mutts at all costs. Also the vast majority of workers at the delray beach branch including the manager are very rude and unprofessional.

Took out a credit card. They offered an interest free period, charged interest a month early and then charged interest on the small additional interest they overcharged. THEN before I found out what crook and liars they were I had taken out their 360 Savings account. Supposed to be bonus interest. I made the large transfer to that account and for four months they came up with every excuse why the bonus was not due yet. THEN when they ran out of excuses for that, they told me that in 2005, remember this is 2022, that I had had a savings account so they could not pay the bonus since I had had a NON bonus savings account in 2005. Guess they were crooks back then is why I closed that account, cant remember 17 years ago. BUT this I will never forget... DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH CAPITAL ONE THEY ARE LIARS AND CROOKS.
