Today i am unsubscribing from chegg. Tomorrow i have an exam and i am using it to prepare myself and i received an Email that it is suspended for 48 hours. I called them but they gave me the bul**t of "as much as we would like to help but blah blah". Anyways $15/month for a lot of wrong solutions in engineering i am not sure if it worth the money anymore.
I cancelled my subscription back in Nov. 2021 and then received an email today that I was charged for the subscription which I don't use. I unfortunately slack at checking my account because my life is busy. Today when I received the email I logged into my old Chegg account and noticed that my subscription had been reinstated back in April. So I have been getting charged for 3 months without my knowledge or consent, I contacted customer support and they said that there is nothing that they could do and could not explain to be why my account was being charged after I cancelled in Nov.
My only explanation would be that when I spoke to a Rep in Nov. That they only paused my account and didn't actually cancel it as I had requested. Now I'm out $75 for something that I don't use
Chegg is horrible. It is better to spend the money to purchase chatGPT services, rather than subscription in Chegg. All answers are AI generated answers and very poor customer supports.
Chegg is a worst platform among other online educational site. Use Tutorbin for your homework or exam help.
Not a good tutorial site as solutions which are not provided, are not up to the mark. Waste of money.
I purchased a used version of a book I need for class, I need a new version in order to have access to the ebook. Chegg offered no solution, even though the text book I need cost more. I chose Chegg over other retailers to purchase the book from because I incorrectly believed it was a reputable company that was worth spending money with. I was wrong I would understand if it was hours or the next day but it was not. After trying to follow their instructions posted online and it not working I then contacted support. At that point it had been an hour since I put in the order. They can't cancel it, they can't apply credit, I have to wait a week for the book then ship it back, then wait for a refund then get the more expensive version. All the time I can not participate in my class. It is hard enough being a student dealing with OUTDATED resources makes it even hard. Buy your books some where else!
I pay for Chegg service, hoping to get help on textbook questions when I'm struggling to figure out the best solution. Responses are often incomplete or just the opinion of the "expert." I submitted a question a few days ago and their "expert response" was copying and pasting the response they left on another user's question. Don't you think I would have checked for the question on their site before submitting a new one? And if I did see the same question, do you think I was satisfied with their response if I'm re-posting it to get a new response? I added a comment saying the response is incomplete and was just the "expert's" personal opinion, but a few hours later, instead of updating their response, they simply cleared my down-thumb and completely DELETED my comment... I'm VERY unsatisfied and will be discontinuing my service. Thanks for NOTHING so-called "experts..." such a scam!
Chegg claimed that I shared my account 15 times in 6 weeks and keep suspend my account and never refunded my money. After everything I tried, reset account, allow Chegg to use my location etc… I followed every steps they advised me to take and today they suspended It again 3 days after I spoke to a supervisor who granted access after she determined that the account was not share. This company is fraud and I will contact BBB and my state attorney tomorrow. I need all the money I paid to them back plus reparations fees.
I canceled my Subscription on June 30,2022, but they said that it would take effect on July 30,2022. That means that I am still subscribing for the month of August as the charge today would be for next month (August). If you're planning on using Chegg, please don't, or if you really want to use their services, make sure to cancel it early.
This website is pure $#*!, you pay 20 dollar per month and it kept asking u to swap the device u using.
It asked me to swap device i registered before, like its ok, but after i registered it, it still asking for swap.
Its like they dont care about user experience at all.
Other utilities, and overall response time is piece of $#*! aswell.
Please learn from me and do not make a mistake purchasing this website. It did not give me one accurate answer for the $16 I spent. They have a one time refund policy. Go use Chat GBT and save yourself the amount more than a Netflix subscription.
By January I sent my book to this company knowing by email confirmation I would receive my check in the mail 15 days later. It turned out I nearly waited almost two-and-a-half months later; their excuse my book was, "suspected" that it may have "been a fraudulent copy." If I had not contacted them by email in complaint about their delay, I would not have known about the fraudulent copy reply. Why wait to email me a notice about something that could've been serious AFTER I contacted? I JUST received my check in the mail today - 3/27/2018. I don't want to sound like a whining brat, but Chegg has to do better to inform your customers on the issues at hand! You can lose customers, and frankly you just lost one - me!

Answer: The monthly money is for an additional service. You can opt out of it at the time of your order. Supposedly. Check other reviews. Many of them say they were still charged after canceling the service. My best suggestion is to stay away from Chegg if at all possible.
