I am obsessed with Gwynnie Bee! I've had this service for a little over a year now and don't plan on leaving it any time soon. The dresses are great quality and there is amazing variety. I am always getting compliments on the dresses I get.
I was so tired of using the same dresses over and over. Now I have variety without breaking the bank and having to buy new dresses every week.
Love the concept of gwynnie. Expected it to be more like netflicks. Send in an item get one back in a few days. Shipping is a disaster. Takes forever. If you get an item that you don't like its about 2 weeks to return and get new item. This is very discouraging.
The selection is also not as much as I would like. I don't wear dresses so I am somewhat limited to begin with. Shirts maybe updated once a month with maybe one or two new items. Giving one more month to see if things improve.
I was in the process of trying to lose weight and Gwynnie Bee was a perfect choice for me. It gave me the ability to choose from lots of different dresses in any size that I needed. It was great! As the get nearer to my goal weight I've decided to take a little break from Gwynnie Bee, but plan to start up again this Spring. Thanks Gwynnie Bee for helping me look stylish at work during my transformation.
The free trial is just a rouse to get you to sign up. The second I hit enter my phone dinged and I had an alert my card had a recent charge. There it was $78 and change.
Customer service answered quickly I didn't have to hold at all. And my money was refunded right away. ( still pending refund. So we will see tomorrow)
When Gwynnie Bee first stared, it was the answer to my "plus-sized" clothing woes. Fun, fashionable, affordable options in an array of brands and sizes. Now, due to my slightly larger size and the shift in focus to clothing for women of all sizes (read "normal sizes", and read it with sarcasm), there are only a handful of brands that comfortably fit and the company is no longer a safe haven for me. What started out as a godsend and even a bit of a body-positive experience has morphed into something that is, again, for the masses, and which no longer provides me the high quality service I need. This is why capitalism is a failed model for meeting human needs. Given the opportunity to meet the needs of the initial focused clientele, where there is a veritable clothing desert, Gwynnie Bee, like many companies, sold out their loyal customers to make more money.
I love Gwynnie Bee. I've been a member for over 5 years. For the most part I am a happy subscriber. I have noticed that the pricing of the items are getting more expensive. My plan is 2 items $63. I don't think it is reasonable to want me to buy a summer shirt for $70. I think the pricing should be more in line with the fact that the items are worn. My second issue is the packaging. Can we please get rid of the boxes? As someone who has their boxes come to the job and also a commuter. The boxes are a hassle. Plus dealing with them afterwards. Please think about sending the items in the purple bags then have us send the items back in the bags. I do that with ASOS purchases. No problem.
It sounds like a great idea in theory but in reality the clothing are geared toward older women. Also the sizing is super awkward I got clothing that was super big on me because I didn't understand the sizing well enough. Just got my first package and will be canceling not for me, at all!
I thought I'd write about my experience from a long time ago. I received a skirt that was worn and had crusty stuff on the skirt. I'm attaching a picture of the creases and of the crusty stuff so you can be the judge if this did in fact go to the cleaners like I was told. I hope you can zoom into the crusty part because you can see it well. It's not a part of the pattern, it was hard and white. I'm hoping it was frosting, yeah, we'll go with that for my sanity. When I reached out, they assured me it was cleaned, but would a cleaned dress still have creases from sitting? I am still doubtful. In that same email reassuring me it was cleaned, they said I didn't return a package. It had been 7 days since the package reached them. I kept all of my tracking information and I told them the date and time it reached them and to who, Thanks Ben! For them to say I didn't return a package when it was put into Ben's hands 7 days before the email conversation with them... this is just sad. I hope their customer service is better than what it was and they aren't sending dirty clothes. This is my experience and I hope they are doing their customers better. I left and have not returned.
Been a member for years, even with a scanning the bag and getting messages that my order is being worked on I dont get it to my door for at least a full week which is a huge waste to me. Also disappointed the rates went up. It aucks when u get ur box try something on is too big or out of season of oddly shaped and have to wait a whole week till you actually get something to wear when you are paying money for the service.
All the clothes arent my style, but Ive been a member for a couple of years now and I've bought probably 15 garments from the service. I'm very happy because I can try things I might not like and so easily return them if they arent for me.
I was so excited to sign up for this website until I signed up and started browsing the selection and found that almost nothing cute that I liked came in my size! (24-26) this website is a joke. Its a great idea but not well executed. I will be canceling my membership tonight before even receiving any items. So disappointed!
I tried the free month trial in the summer and thought it was a great idea that would work better for me when I returned to work in the fall. 6 wks or so after I cancelled my membership, GB offered me a 2 month discounted membership price. Its been great to have new clothes to wear without the hassle of shopping in multiple stores. I told a friend who signed up and got a referral bonus! What's not to love?
I browsed and didn't find anything so I never added anything to my online closet. I promptly forgot about it. They didn't.
Four months later, they've charged me $85/month for absolutely nothing. I never received a damn thing. Scam.
I've been a member for about 4 years now and overall the membership is great. I don't have to deal with going to the post office to return items, just leave it in my mailbox. My only issue right now is with the clothing styles. I don't know if they got a new buyer or what but it is getting harder and harder to find items to add to my "closet."
There have been a few issues here and there but overall I love it. I can wear designer clothes for a minimal cost and my wardrobe is vast. There have been issues with the clothes coming in horribly wrinkled at times and every now and then the item just isn't what I expected but all in all the idea of having designer clothes all the time is great. I have purchased several items both from my closet and on clearance. The people at work can't wait to see what I will wear next
Ive been a customer with Gwynnie for years and been satisfied for the most part but the only thing I truly complain about is the turn around time. Sometimes it can take a whole week before I am sent a new garment.
I had been a fan of Gwynnie Bee, but they have been an utter disappointment this holiday season. Like a lot of people, I have a Christmas party every day of this week. I knew holiday party week was coming, so I returned my last items early (Dec. 10&11). It's now Dec. 19th. I have not received a new shipment, nor has a the next shipment shipped out. With the weekend and holiday coming up, I think it is realistic to guess that I will not have had a Gwynnie Bee item in hand from Dec. 11 until Dec. 26 (or later!). That is, literally, the two weeks of the year when this service should provide the most value. Total disappointment.
Epic failure for holiday dresses.
Everything is polyester. It is all stretchy and the fit is off on most dresses. I cancelled on the 30th day of my free trial but they charged me on day 29 and "can't issue refunds". So I can either reset up an account (where they would have to charge me again but that they can refund) or just be out the $$$. Not worth it for cheap clothes
I'm a little shocked at the reviews here. It almost seems like a concentrated attack. I've been a customer for several years, and the service has literally changed my life. I never ever thought I could have clothes that fit, let alone fit well or make me look good. Now I have new clothes 2-3 times a week, I get compliments on my outfits all the time, and I FEEL beautiful. The few interactions I've had with customer service have been professional, prompt, and 100% positive. I don't use the shop, since I've fallen in love with having space in my closet and I know I can rely on GB to surprise me with something cool in every box. Speaking of, I am going to go try on fab clothes I didn't have to hunt down, didn't have to special order, don't have to overpay for, and never have to take care of! If you're in the size range, try it. You've your entire life to gain.
I have been a customer for over 6 months now. I see the time to get items have improved and I love the recommendations on the website. I have referred some of my family members who fit into the sizes and they love their free trial so far. I'm hooked and would recommend you try it for a couple of months.
Answer: You have to re-add them, but there is a "history" section that keeps track of your items so they are easier to find.
Answer: The clothes are cleaned and then sent out to the next person who requested that item in that size. After a period of time (not sure how long) the clothes are put into their for sale section of the site. I've purchased several items after wearing them at incredible savings.
Answer: They are used but have been laundered - you have no need to do that unless you wish to do so. Also they are usually in excellent shape. If you ever receive anything that isn't, make sure you let them know so they can pull it from their inventory.
Answer: Hi Tara - Everyone experiences the service differently. I think the best thing is to judge for yourself. We offer a 30 day free trial, which allows you to do just that. Before joining you can check out our FAQs & browse the collection. If you have any questions, please contact us at gwynnie@gwynniebee.com or 855-GWYNNIE
Answer: It means they will upgrade your items by 1 for the life of your plan. If you sign up for 5 items, and stay with 5 items, you will get 1 free upgrade meaning you will get 6 items. If you change your plan later however, that free upgrade could go away. SandieB
Answer: Hello Susan, Thanks for your interest in our service. Yes, our's is a garment rental service, with the most popular plan of (2 garments out at a time), priced at $68 + taxes per 30-day billing cycle. Those on the 2-item plan usually receive 6-8 garments per month depending on how fast they return them. Speaking of which, you may keep the garments with you as long as you need, before returning them in exchange for another garment/s. When you're ready to receive another garment - we have a "Return Notification" feature where you can give us a heads-up that items are on their way back to us and we can start processing your next package. Our average turnaround time is 4-7 days depending on if you use our return notification feature & where you live. The return notification feature lets you tell us when you're returning an item, so we do not wait to physically receive it & can start processing your replacement within an hour of clicking. Importantly, should you like to purchase any garment you receive as part of your rental shipment you can do so easily, and that too, at generously discounted prices. I hope this helps. Best, Gwynnie

We are sorry for the inconvenience. However, please check our collection from time to time, for garments which you may find suitable in your style and also, in your size :). Gwynnie Bee enjoys a generally favorable reputation among customers who appreciate the variety and quality of clothing, as well as the convenience of a rental model that allows for frequent wardrobe changes without significant financial commitment. Many users highlight the positive impact on their confidence and style exploration. However, concerns about slow shipping times, limited inventory, and challenges with cancelling subscriptions have been frequently mentioned. Additionally, customers have expressed frustration over unexpected charges and a lack of responsive support during issues. Overall, while the service has its strengths, addressing operational inefficiencies could enhance customer satisfaction.
