An item was missing from my order.
A brief phone call with a very pleasant lady resolved the issue. The item was mailed to me quickly. I have had satisfying experiences with Connecting Threads over the years and will continue to be a customer.
I have never had a bad experience with Connecting Threads. They have always met or exceeded my expectations.
I have ordered from Connecting Threads multiple times, and I have been very satisfied with their merchandise. I particularly like their own brand of fabric. The white solid is my favorite white brand to use in quilting applications, over other fabric brands. It has a very nice feel, and it's been good to use for piecing and machine quilting. I am also rather partial to their line of chambray blenders; they both look nice and feel wonderful, and I sincerely hope they decide to keep them in stock permanently. They have improved their order fulfillment turnaround time in recent years, and it seldom takes more than about ten days to receive an order once it was placed, although it's usually closer to a week. They have been fairly accurate with their orders as well; if there's an error, they have corrected it promptly and completely to my satisfaction. Those errors have been very rare. In summary, I am a satisfied customer of Connecting Threads, and I would heartily recommend this source of quilting and sewing supplies to other seamstresses and quilters without hesitation.
I have ordered from Connecting Threads several times. Quality is excellent and the orders get to me within a few days so love that!
I've use a lot of different fabric and I've never seen anything like this before. It's so bad on the back of the quilt top with the fabric fraying I'm not sure what to do. And it won't stop. The more I pull the more it fraying. I'm afraid to gift it and wondering if I should even finish it on the longarm?
I will never order another thing, ever, from this merchant. They have chosen the slowest shipping method possible. According to tracking info, this small, lightweight order of one item was shipped via DHL 8 days ago and is still "en route", not expected to deliver for another 6 days and is being held in a warehouse in the town right next to mine. I could actually walk there and pick it up in person. This is completely unacceptable and avoidable by choosing another shipper (Post Office, FedEx, UPS). This ridiculous timeframe was not mentioned at the time the order was placed and this item is available from MULTIPLE other sources.
I ordered from Connecting Threads for the first time since the 00's. I needed some cheaper blues for a scrappy quilt. Their griege goods used to be quite inferior- scratchy, stiff, didn't wash as well. Imagine my happy suprise upon opening the packaging- the materials they sent me now were just as lovely as the highest quality that I have purchased at my local quilt shop. Very impressed.
I ordered a large order of essentials thread as I was told by a friend that it was a low lint thread. After receiving multiple sets I opened several and used three different spools. All three left so much build up of lint in my machine that I need to take it in for service.
Initially their customer service was helpful and offered to replace or refund with return. I opted for a return as the thread clearly doesn't work with my machine. I dutifully returned all the thread except for three rolls that they told me to keep as I had opened them and they were leaving the lint in my machine.
I packaged it all up and used their postage paid label to return it in a secure box. I waited and waited for a refund. Finally I received notice several weeks later that I had been refunded. But only half of my payment was returned. I sent several emails inquiring as to the reason. I did not see the response (which landed in the spam folder because they did not use "connecting threads" email as the sender but a personal email from an employee).
I called today and was told that I had not returned all the thread so they deducted the amount from my refund. So I spent 80 bucks on thread, gummed up my machine, and returned as promised. In return I received about 53 bucks, a difference of 27 dollars.
On the phone she told me I had been emailed so I checked the spam and found the email by searching for the customer service person's name (not connecting threads). She made the same claim in her email.
So either the post office delivered a damaged package with contents missing, which you would think they would realize when they receive it, or someone is lying or just inept in the returns department. Maybe a little typo by someone in the returns department would also account for this, but not for their insistence that I did not return the thread.
I suggested they check the weight of the package as they paid for the label and so I assume would get a bill for the shipping by weight.
At any rate, I am out 35 bucks, plus it will be 140 to get my machine cleaned. I will be missing my machine for several weeks while it is serviced.
All of this causes me to say I will never buy anything from Connecting Threads again and I will urge others to avoid them as well. Much better customer service is found at almost any other shop.
In case you are wondering, I have been sewing for 50 years, make 30 quilts each year, spend hundreds of dollars each month on fabric, and have no reason to try to keep thread that was a disaster for my machine.
I joined a Connecting Threads Block of the Month subscription because I'm totally new to quilting and it advertised a Facebook group for support. I tried the main FB group - no response. I tried FB messenger- got bot response with phone number. I called phone number & person couldn't help me. I asked what else I could do. She suggested an email. I got the following response:
Thank you for contacting us.
I have looped in our Department heads for review. I am sure it was on their list to accomplish.
Thank you kindly,
Kara

Same number I had called. Clearly only into sales and uninterested in customer support.
I've ordered from them several times (thread) and have received my orders in a timely manner. Their thread is what I pretty much solely use now - great quality for the price. They have good sales on fabric too and I've not had a problem with anything I've sewn with it. I'll keep ordering from them.
It has been a month since I placed my order and it has not arrived. I have contacted this company TWICE with NO reply. Do not purchase from them!
Their fabric is not worth the wait when they charge your credit card the day it ships and they continue sending it via postal service that takes two weeks to get from Georgia to Alabama. And they send you an email that they will respond to your concerns - but never get back to you. I am still waiting for second order. First went to wrong address because their shipping label was so faded!
I placed an order of almost $500 on their site. One item was a sewing machine which was shipped from the manufacturer and no problem with that. The other two items were a quilt kit and some rotary blades. They divided the order (I assume because the machine was shipped direct). So I waited... and waited for the other items. Check their site and it said those items were processing. Another week goes by and it says shipped but no notification from them so I wrote to ask for tracking info. No response. Another week goes by I write again. No response. Two more weeks, two more emails, still no response. I could NOT get them to respond to my simple questions of when and how it was shipped nor get any tracking information. They did not even acknowledge my emails. Finally after 5 weeks and no communication from them, I filed a Pay Pal claim for the charges. They haven't responded to Pay Pal either. I complained on their Facebook site and they said they were very busy and behind on their emails. 5 weeks behind? I run a small business and if a customer has a question or problem we respond the same day... and we send a shipping notice with tracking information for every order we ship. There is no excuse for that kind of negligent customer service. If you can't answer an email in 5 weeks, maybe you should just give it up.
i ordered 3 times and had nothing but issues: Short yardage, long shipping times, and low quality fabric. i specifically ordered 4 yards of their white fabric that i had started a project with and it was short 1 yard 2" how do you not know how to measure out 4 yards. I certainty was charged for 4 yards. Now I'm wondering if they short yardage on my previous order of white fabric and that's why i ran out, as i should have had plenty.
I had to reorder and the orders take a long time to get shipped. I have another package that i have not opened yet and wondering if that's short also. The white is fraying so bad, I'm hoping that it will hold up for a bit until i make other with quality fabric. I emailed the company yesterday and have not received a response. I will stick with fabric.com instead.
i am not shopping here ever again.
I have placed two orders with Connecting Threads. First order shipped on the 4th day and the jelly roll had knicks cut into the folds. I had to replace several strips.
This order I placed on Wednesday and it is now Tuesday and it has not shipped. Instead of apologizing for the delay I was given several excuses as to why my order hasn't shipped in 6 days and is still not ready to ship. They are behind!
Every other online quilt shop I order from, I receive my goods in three to five days. Connecting Threads needs to change their statement that they ship in 1-2 business days and learn how to handle customer complaints as it appears they receive many. Learn to say you are sorry and you will take care of the problem.
Have been ordering from Connecting Threads for several years, have always gotten my orders in a timely manner, the few times my order was wrong, it was dealt with promptly and with courtesy. Have had no issues with either fabric or precuts. But when you order by fat quarters be careful as you do have the option of getting linar foot also. This is nice if you need a little extra on strips. Been very satisfied.
I had order issues... I contacted customer service through email. I received and email and all my issues where taken care of. Including refunds. I have bought from Connecting threads for years and am completely satisfied.

I made an order for a fabric specifically for a class that I was taking. I spent the extra money to have it shipped in 2 days and it took forever. The quality of the one of my fabrics as paper thin... and then I did not get all the fabric I needed for my quilt and now that fabric is discontinued. So I contacted Connecting Threads and was treated like I was a problem. The person was short and flat and no help at all. I have spend so much money on Connecting threads through the years and first time I have a problem... no help. Very very poor customer service.
Sewists and quilters can buy good quality fabric and thread for reasonable prices, especially on one of their frequent sales. Everything arrives packaged well and in fast enough time. They also sell books, tools and kits.
I placed two orders recently. The time to get the orders took forever. And once I did get then I was really disappointed in how the fabric had been packaged and cut. The fabric was inside out and jammed in to small plastic bags so was very wrinkled. The "kit" I got was also jammed in a plastic bag and the pattern was basically folded in half so was rubbed and crinkled in the middle around the stack of fabric. The fat quarter bundle was just a stack of fabric badly cut with lots of selvage, inside out, and just stacked together - not neatly folded and bundled together - again jammed in a small plastic bag and wrinkled. Won't order from them again.
Been ordering from Connecting Threads for several years now. I have never been disappointed with any fabric purchase. Reason for this review is as follows: I made a purchase of about $65 of fabric for a quilt. When it arrived I had set it aside so I would not be tempted to start the next project when I was wanting to finish the current one. Well as it turned out I then opened the box of fabric nearly a month later and started my next project. Well when I got to the borders of the quilt I realized I didn't have the 2 1/2 yds that I selected for the outside border. I was nearly sick to my stomach since it was the most expensive of the Fabrics and it wasn't in the order. The following morning I called and told the girl on the phone what had happened and to my surprise the girl told me she would get it shipped out to me right away. I was in awe of her answer. I was sure I would get hassled since the purchase was nearly a month ago. I will continue to do all my fabric purchases with Connecting Threads. Also all my purchases are here within a week. Thank you!
Answer: I've used their thread for several years now - it's pretty much the only thread I'll use. Anyway, I have sewn many items using their thread: several upholstered pillows, many curtains, a throw rug, made cushions for my old wooden rocking chair and cushions for the rod iron furniture on my porch, and used it for making historically accurate costumes. I've never had to contact the company for anything because I've never had a problem with my orders.
Answer: It is definitely a real company - I've ordered from them several times. Love their thread!
