I have ordered from this company a number of times because a family member likes their clothing and decorative items. The quality of the merchandise is ok but a bit over-priced. What is frustrating is the lack of customer service. Shipping is slow and they do not communicate information well. I ordered an item recently as a gift. When I ordered, there was no indication that the item was not in stock. When it did not arrive, I checked my account and saw it was back-ordered. It has been a month since I ordered and I have received no communications or answers to e-mails to customer service. I will try to call but that has not been convenient to me. I will avoid Country Store in the future if possible.
I bought some women's tops from Country Store Catalog and when I put one of them on I noticed several holes in it, not all the way through, but just a few threads left over the holes so I didn't notice it right away. I don't know it that's moths or what, something chewed 4 holes threw the material.
Then I recently bought sweatshirts from Country Store Catalog and they are loaded with lint to the point of having to clean out the washing machine, clean the laundry floor a few times, rewash, the sweatshirts get almost permanent lint balls on all the clothing washed with the sweatshirts. Total disaster and it does not stop after the first washing. All I can do is wash them by hand and dry by themselves or just get rid of them. I tried to put a review in CSC website about the sweatshirts and they blocked it. They are not allowing 1 star reviews. So they sell me bad items and do not allow me to put in reviews about it. I'm not buying anything else from CSC ever again.
I purchased a pair of pajama bottoms that cost $35.75, which included $7.99 shipping. Their shipping is slower than molasses. The pajamas were too big, so I returned them using their label, which cost $8.00. It took 13 days for them to receive the return, and another 8 days to issue a refund. They refunded $18.14. You do the math and decide whether you want to shop there.
Three pair of leggings were ordered from Country Store. My "new" merchandise was mailed to me from Littleton "Return" Center. And the 3 pair of leggings were clearly used: one pair had blood stains and the other two pair were worn (and not just tried on). Ninety dollars later and their Customer Service rep and Supervisor won't come to the phone.
I keep getting a $14.95 charge monthly on my credit card and could not reach the business to find out what it was about. They only pick up the phone for orders. I haven't ordered anything for months.
I don't understand why so many people have rated this company so poorly. I have ordered over 25 sweatshirts and a few tee shirts from them over the years. All of them have been just fine, many absolutely gorgeous. I usually order the large size, and they fit just fine. I live in these sweatshirts in the winter. Out of the 25 plus sweatshirts I have purchased, they have had to back order only 2, one of which came within less than a month. Both back orders have been in the past year, which given labor shortages and the whole shipping backup, is understandable. Other ones that I got in '21/'22 arrived in time and in perfect condition. None have ever been Ill-fitting or had defects. The one that I wear the most I have had for years and seems like it will last forever. I have never had to return an item, so I have no idea what that is like, however.
I've ordered from Country Store multiple times, over about 5 years. Honestly, I've had no problems. Stuff came mostly on time and as ordered. Majority of my orders have been for clothing (tops, sweatshirts, casual clothing) and they have all been fine. I haven't had to contact them, so can't attest to customer service. I know they use multiple vendors, so maybe I've just been lucky. I have recommended them to friends and no one has reported any difficulties to me.
I ordered a pillow for my Mom and it was the size of a dolls bed pillow. I paid over 30$ for the pillow and shipping and it's worth about 5$. Do not buy from them. The quality is not good.
Country Store sent me the size I ordered however the product was gigantic. I sent it back (you have to pay the return postage) and requested the next size down. I received a notice that they had resent the original size. I wrote to Customer Service at least a week and a half ago and received this response: Thank you for contacting us. We are experiencing heavy call volume and substantial hold times during the COVID-19 crisis and are working very hard to support you. Your business, patience and understanding is very much appreciated. NO RESPONSE. I just received a second notice that they are sending the original too large size. And again wrote Customer Service and received the same response. Stop using Covid 19 as an excuse! Unless the person in charge has brain damage as a result of Covid 19 you are just making excuses for a badly run business! The issue is poor customer service period.
AWFUL EXPERIENCE NO ONE UNDERSTOOD ME AND I HAVE SHOPPED THERE FOR YEARS THEY KEPT SAYING YES VERMONT COUNTRY STORE IT TOOK ALL MORNING THEY DID NOT KNOW MY ADDRESS! I HAVE SHOPPED THERE FOR YEARS! SO WHEN I CALLED THE VERMONT COUNTRY STORE TO CHANGE AN ITEM I WAS TOLD I HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THEM! THEN I KNEW I HAD BEEN TAKEN THE OLD BAIT AND SWITCH CALLED MY CARD CO AND HAD THEM BLOCKED CALLED AND CANCELED THE ORDER AWFUL MORNING! BEWARE!
I Ordered a pair of Pink shorts. 1St pair had a big hole in the butt and they replaced them no problem, I didn't have to return them, they sent me another pair with a green line in them, I called country store to get my money back, just plan sick of getting shorts with stuff wrong with them, I was told this time I had send them back and pay for the shipping, It's not my fault there product is garbage.
When you get a catalog order, they usually have a "return shipment label" that, if you use it, they deduct $7.50 from your return. Take it from experience, don't use it if its from The Country Store or a lesser known provider. The tracking number on the preprinted label is not a true tracker. I returned to The Country Store 3 weeks ago for $67.00 and phone calls to them claim they have not received it. The tracking number on the preprinted label shows they received it 2 days after I mailed it... not possible. Worth your time to go to the USPS and do it yourself.
Sizing of their clothing is impossible to predict. Returns are a nightmare. Customer service is nonexistent. Avoid.
HORRIBLE SERVICE. No follow up on my email request for information. Not truthful on flat rate shipping charges. Save your money. Shop somewhere else.
Ret'd an item that was incorrect.
$10 was deducted from purchase. Called twice- still not corrected.
I could write a book! First of all, in general their products are below standard. 2nd of all, I went around and around with their Customer Service Dept last week regarding the fact that they sent me the wrong shirt and then wanted me to pay for shipping to send it back. After. 2 separate calls totaling approx 1 1/2 hours, they finally waived the shipping Also, they refuse to transfer you to a supervisor!
Today I called to inquire when my refund would be processed, as I could tell by tracking the pkg that they had received it. So she confirmed that I would be receiving my refund in 48-72 hours! Ridiculous to have to wait that long! Meanwhile, while she had me on hold, the agent managed to place a duplicate order for that same shirt and took another $29 out of my checking account while I was on the phone with her! So now I have to wait ANOTHER 42-72 hours for that amount to be put back on my account, even though putting in an order today was entirely her fault! Then later this evening I noticed they had sent me an email confirming the erroneous order, so I had to call back AGAIN. The 2nd time today. Each call taking approximately 30-40 minutes. They put you on hold a lot! This company should not even be in business! I'm never ordering from them again and removing myself from their catalog mailing list and also their email mailing list.
I was notified by two of my ID Monitoring services that they had both found the logon and passcode I was using for the country store website, on the dark web.
I went to country store website to change the passcode. There is no provision on the website to change the passcode nor anything else.
I emailed customer service. They sent me back instructions to make up a dummy order and hit the order button. This will bring up a screen where I will be given the option to change my passcode.
I tried it 5 times and the screen never appeared.
I contacted them again and they told me I had to call this number.
I called the number and It was the number for catalog sales.
I was transferred 7 times, each time I was told in effect "not my job" area.
The 7th person I talked to wanted to transfer me back to the 3rd person I talked to. And I stopped her
She finally admiited they have nothing to do with the website. I said okay then transfer me to the people that run the website. She told me she did not know who they were and had no email nor contact phone numbers.
I was totally befuddled that a website had no provision for making changes to personal data and a company who didn't know who was running their website and still making no offer to put me in touch with someone who did.
In sheer frustration I sent an email request to close the account, remove all of my personal information, ad send me a verification when it was completed.
Sent order back and never got credit. One hundred words your staff isntmuch help
