Cricket Wireless has a rating of 1.3 stars from 385 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Cricket after tearing up a phone on my account, then refusing us upgrades we could afford, thanks to their bait and switch scheme. Display phones under $100 then refuse to sell them, "we only sell phones priced $100 and up" several reps told us that. One moron said "pay $100 for a phone and it will last you 100 years" I told him he was an idiot. Let's see hmm $375 plus taxes and fees to stay with Cricket or $90 for service plus taxes and fees plus 3 free $150 phones. Total cost $150. Yes, we switched to Metro PCS and you should too!
I haven't cried out of shear frustration in years but tonight after 2 hours of trying to get help from cricket chats I'm losing it. All I wanted to do was pay them to add one Gig to my service for the month. Hurricane Helene wiped out my town's internet so I can't watch TV or use my phone because having no wifi burned up my data in 3 days. It took about 2 hours and many customer service chats to get a very SIMPLE payment accomplished. I'm switching to consumer cellular
I have tried several times and multiple methods to contact customer service to speak to somebody about the 3G network that will be turned off Feb 2022. The people who answer the phone are NOT inside the U.S., are therefore hard to understand, and do not have a grasp of technical details of network architecture within the U.S. If you are placed "on hold" you will NOT get any answers. If you ask to speak to somebody inside the U.S. you will NOT get any answers. If you ask to speak to a supervisor you will NOT get any answers. If you try the chat option on the website you will NOT get ANY response from a person anywhere. There is NO email address available to communicate with the company. The local Cricket Wireless stores cannot answer technical questions related to the 3G network discontinuation or any problems related to coverage/ service as a result. I gave Cricket 1 star because 0 was not an option. It is shameful that corporations have little to no regard for customer service these days. Not all questions/ concerns can be addressed by a website or App.

Dishonest company with hidden fees and the worst terrible service in the history of the wireless business. False advertising in their small print and fees, fees, fees. Don't even bother.
Usually, employees are happy to see their customers because, after all, they're going to spend money. However, that was not the case with Cricket located at 1203 E Vine Street, Kissimmee on 10/5/22. My mom & I arrived and the storefront was littered to the point where we thought the location was closed. Upon closer inspection, they were open. We walked in and the only employee in the store greeted us unenthusiastically... perhaps because we interrupted his phone time. We told him of our problem with my mom's I-phone not working and that we wanted a new phone. We provided him with the phone number as he requested and he went to his PC to send us a code even though we had already told him the phone wasn't turning on. I asked him for a charger to see if we could get it to turn on and his answer was, "I don't know if we have chargers for I-phones here". Since I saw his demeanor and noticed he wasn't going to help us, I asked if there was another Cricket nearby and he replied: "I don't know. I'm not from around here, so I don't know". I was baffled at his attitude towards customers. I can't believe a company keeps that kind of employees. I don't care what you're going thru - if it's that bad, then stay home and don't report to work or stay in a back office away from customers. At that moment, I decided I was done with Cricket. I went to T-Mobile and got my mom a new phone. Good-bye Mr. I don't know & Cricket.
Even with full signal it is sooooo slow and just drops connectivity for no reason. Stay away. The customer service is terrible and the hot spot is a bad joke.
I was cricket's biggest fan for years! I had a flip phone with unlimited data and messaging for a total of $25 a month. Awesome! No problems! Then I got a smart phone with a 2GB data plan. In over a year I never exceeded the data limit. Not even close! All I ever did was read news articles on the internet. Never streamed movies. Never watched youtube videos. Even those times when I was away from wifi and using the phone constantly, I never exceeded the limit... until now.
About a year after signing up for the plan, I suddenly used up all my data by the middle of the month. The next month all my data was used up by the fourth of the month. And this month my data was gone by the second of the month. I can still access the internet, but the speeds are very slow and "somehow" the sites I most frequently access don't even connect for hours. The scam is utterly transparent. Cricket is causing my data usage to be falsely exceeded very quickly so that I am forced to upgrade to a more expensive plan. I expect that if I upgraded to anything but the unlimited plan, the same thing would happen in a year.
Their customer service people might as well be robots, for all the help they offer. They simply keep repeating that you have used all your data and suggest that the real culprit is mysterious apps that are downloading all the data... even though I've disabled automatic updates. Cricket is running a very dishonest and illegal scam. I would advice people to stay away.
We were on the phone with the representing who was trying to blame us for the glitch or rep that may have changed our plan without our permission
She kept trying to blame us
I asked her to give us a Tech she said it wasn't one available
I asked for a supervisor she said it wasn't available
I asked for a manager the date time it changed and for a copy of the phone call details to be overlooked heard by the manager
She put me back from the system where I got another rep who hung up on us after speaking and telling them the details as well
I have a Samsung A10e which was released in 2019 (so still fairly new) and is compatible on 2,3 and 4G networks. With Crickets new "upgrade" I was told that as of 2/22/22 my phone would no longer work. But 2 weeks before that date, my phone was disconnected. I called customer service and I was advised that since my phone worked with 4G I would be ok. But then a couple days later I was shut off again. So again I called. I was told now Cricket will not be supporting my phone and I will need to get one of their phones or be disconnected. I told them I would switch but to please stop disconnecting me because I use my phone for business purposes and it was disrupting my business. I was told they noted it but again a couple days later I was shut off yet again. Same scenario same promise to not be shut off but again today, I was shut off. When I called this time, I asked to speak to a supervisor as the so called customer service woman was NOT helpful. I was put on hold and hung up on. I have been with Cricket for over 5 years and I'm very disappointed and frustrated that this is what it has come to. No help, no answers. I have to give up a phone I love and only had for 2 years just to stay on service. No thank you. I will be moving to a different carrier who lets me decide what kind of phone I get to have/ keep.
Their site is continuously down, as well as their service. You always get the message "My Account is temporarily unavailable. Try again later or call Customer Care at 1-800-CRICKET (274-2538) for help.
" and do not bother to call Customer Care, their hours are very limited, and the people you talk to are rude.
We used them because it was cheaper when only one phone, and the International plan was good (pay $10/month for 1k minutes to Thailand), but that is worthless if you cannot use the phone when you want to call. You go to their website to see if there is an issue, and it is down.
Do not get me on their voicemail - I guess it is non-existent. They disabled the voicemail (which comes as a standard), and to get it reactivated, I had to open a ticket and was told that someone would call me in three business days (which is ridiculous). Four business days, not a peep from Cricket.
Save yourself the headaches, and go elsewhere. As soon as I can find a carrier, that does not gouge the single line and has decent rates to call Thailand, we are gone.
Tip for consumers:
Do not go to Cricket

Shady dealings. STAY AWAY FROM CRICKET! I PURCHASED A NEW PHONE FROM THE WEBSITE AND PAYED FOR INSURANCE BUT THEY DID NOT HONOR IT, IN FACT THEY CANCELLED OT ON THIER END AND SAID I MUST HAVE CANCELLED IT. I HAVE THE PAID RECIPT. THAT IS WHAT THESE PEOPLE OUTSOURCED FROM INDIA ARE PAYED TO READ TO YOU. FORGET CUSTOMER SERVICE, YOU WILL GET NOWHERE! They kept saying I was supposed to sign up when the phone was new. I went back and forth with them telling them I did sing UP and paid for it. Must have been a language barrier... INSURANCE IS A SCAM ANYWAY. PAY 8 DOLLARS A MONTH? 96 DOLLARS A YEAR AND A DEDUCTABLE OF 75 TO 150 DOLLARS... WHAT A JOKE! IM GLAD THEY MESSED UP. Must be nice to pay some outsourced people in india 3 dollars an hour to basically not help their longtime customer and call them liars and make snyde remarks. Forget this company that doesn't make jobs for americans... go to a more reputable company I would suggest. #cricketwireless #scams #CricketNation
Soo why my bill is due on the 5th of every month and if not paid they turn it off on the 6h. I PAID MY BILL ON THE 5th at around 945 pm before 12am so why you he hell is my phone off?! And then made me pay the late payment of 5$ when the system tried to make me pay the hole bill and the 5$ again! This is some BS. Imma bout to go to a different company. As soon as the stores open im no longer stayin with this company any longer. I will tell everyone I know about this cause I know I'm not the only one this has happened to but I'm done with this BS
Went here to get a new phone and was offered only 3 choices. I picked the one that the employee said was the best one. I used it and didn't like it and noticed I was not given a receipt. I called the store the same day I got the phone and informed the employee of my grievances. I had to call multiple times before she answered. She told me she offered me those phones because she thought that was all I could afford and was told to come back to the store for a receipt and refund. When I went back to the store I was told I had to go back the next day because she needed a manager. I go back the next day and was told by the manager that I could only get a small percent of my refund then I was told since I didn't get a receipt nothing could be done but tried to sell me another phone for almost $200. I called customer support and they told me to dispute the charge since they are refusing to give me a receipt or a proper refund. The manager also informed me that he was getting multiple complaints about the employee and would said there would be disciplinary actions but I doubt he did anything. Now I'm stuck with a 4G phone I don't want when I had a 5G phone. This was NOT an upgrade for me.
Don't let these people scam you out of your money because if you don't look like them and share that culture this could happen to you too.
Tip for consumers:
Find a better phone company.
I recently switched to Cricket Wireless for 3 phones. The sales person sold me on the Unlimited Plus Plan for all phones. They 2 phones I had with me were switched over and we headed home, we did not try out the hot spot until we got home. We knew that the phone we did not take was going to have to be replaced since it was an old flip phone. When we did the hot spot on the 2 that were set up only 1 worked. When I spoke with support they said said that phone (galaxy 4) would not work. I accepted this and went online to find a replacement for the flip phone. I purchased a Galaxy A 6 (which is on THEIR list of phones that work with cricket Hot spot. Well, it didn't. Contacted Cricket and told that even though it is on the list that since I did not buy it from cricket I was out of luck and would have to buy from them for Hot Spot to work. So, I was switched over and sold Unlimited Plus on 2 phones they should have known would not work on Unlimited Plus (the Plus by the way is the Hot spot) and bought A Galaxy A6 (which is on the list of phones that work)r to replace the flip phone that I had planned on replacing beforehand. Bottom Line Is sold service for phones they knew would not work and told the phone on their list which I purchases elsewhere would have to be replaced with a phone from Cricket if I want the Hot spot... Beware and check everything before paying a penny to them. David W
I switched carriers to cricket in February. As well as bought a phone, paid in full from location. I was told that if I wasn't fully satisfied with the service, I could switch carriers in no less than 6 months. The phone I bought from them stopped working 7 months after purchasing. Instead of paying deductible for another iPhone 7, I decided to upgrade. I have complained on numerous occasions that service wouldn't pick up in my home and several other locations as well as being extremely slow. Thinking it was it being the older model phone, when I upgraded I figured things would get better. They have not. So I called to have phone unlocked, I was told I had to have my current phone 6 months! Mind you when I bought my initial phone and switched over to cricket, they said 6 months service. Not that every time you get a phone your 6 months starts over. So I'm stuck in a contract that I feel I was bullied into keeping by cricket! I have to keep service with them in order to use the phone I just paid 799.00 for! This service is the worst I have ever had and I'm being forced to stay in a contract that I have had over 6 months all because I upgraded my phone! So the more you buy the longer you're stuck! I will write bad reviews and post on Facebook as well as word of mouth about the way I was done for the duration I am stuck in this contract. Everyone in my family that had cricket is now switching carriers! They won't let me switch, so as of today, 4 friends and family have switched, on the behalf of me! So instead of losing one client they have lost several, more to come!
I had service with cricket for 2 years many years ago. When I left the company for a better service I spent HOURS on the phone trying to get my fully paid for phone unlocked which was eligible according to their terms and agreements. They put me on hold and transferred me more than a dozen times. The last time they put me on hold and kept checking, hoping I would hang up so they wouldn't have to deal with me. After nearly 3 hours, they realized I wasn't giving up and gave me the damn code I needed to unlock it. Now I am attempting to unlock a phone that was fully paid for that I received from a friend and they are telling me they can't determine if the phone has been "reported" nor can they look it up. I am willing to pay to have it unlocked, but they have no way to tell this. I know this is BS and laziness because I have been able to do this with other companies. The employee was unwilling to even attempt. Stay far away from this company. I recommend Metro as they listen and act on customer needs rather than ignore and avoid!
I decided to switch to Cricket on October 15, at 12:40pm. I've used Cricket in the past and never had any problems. They were a great company, low price, and descent enough data speeds. So, I didn't think anything of returning to them now. However, this time around, the data speeds were very slow at my home. I could hardly get anything done online and it was near impossible to get my computer to connect to the WIFI hotspot. I was disappointed, so I decided to switch again. Cricket has a 7 day return policy, so I didn't think it I'd have any trouble. I brought the phone back to the same location at about 12pm today, October 22. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a day is 24 hours. I should have until October 22,12:40pm, right? Well, Cricket counts the full day I started service, even before I was actually with them. To me, that's just misleading and dishonest. I wish I had been able to switch away and return the phone before today, so there wouldn't be any question. It's sad because I went from simply a little dissatisfied with the speeds to completely against Cricket. I would have still recommended them to a friend and thought they were a great company. Now, I want nothing to do with them. That was a complete waste of nearly $100. By the way, they also have an activation fee of $25. I thought that was a little messed up. But, that's not the main issue I wanted to write this review for. I don't recommend Cricket Wireless.
Came to purchase a new phone. Staff explained options and I chose an upgrade. When this phone was brought out to set up on my account, the staff found that the phone was not working properly. He tried several different things but was unable to get it to work properly. He suggested I choose another phone and contacted Cricket on the phone to help. The phone I chose was $103 less than the phone I had originally chosen but did NOT receive due to no fault of my own or this staff person. When I contacted the district manager Jessica,, I received no answer for 4 days. When I finally called in and spoke to another staff person at this office, I was told I could not get my upgrade fee of $25 (plus tax) refunded to me. They asked me to call the worker and ask him to paay me the money out of his pocket! What? This is beyond unethical...because their phone was defective and UNAVAILABLE for me to purchase...I still have to pay for an upgrade fee for a phone that I didnt get? Or else the poor guy who was working alone with a dozen customers waiting for service is penalized...all because he was honest and wouldnt sell me a defective phone! I am a loyal 10 year plus Cricket customer and this is how Im treated over $25. It is no wonder they cant get anyone to work in their stores...what a way to treat an employee who was only doing his best to give good customer service. This review will be going on as many sites as possible, as I think its important for people to know how Cricket treats their loyal customers and employees! I am beyond angry!
I've been a Cricket customer for more than seven years. I bought a new iPhone through their site, then realized I probably should have gotten the 128GB version instead of the 64GB version. Lo and behold, Cricket has a return policy that's only seven days long. Had I bought the phone from Walmart, I would have had a full 90 days to return or exchange it. Cricket doesn't care that I'm trying to exchange a brand-new phone for a more expensive model, and that they stand to make more money. They won't budge, so I have a useless phone and will take my business elsewhere. Terrible customer service - I spent nearly an hour on the phone and was hung up on while waiting for a supervisor. (And no, I wasn't rude and didn't harass the representative - I've worked customer service and know there are limits on staff capabilities, which is why I politely asked for a supervisor and thanked the representative for his help.) The manager, when I finally reached him, was clueless and dismissive. That's how you lose a longstanding customer.
Tip for consumers:
Cricket only has a seven-day return policy. Walmart's is 90 days. Shop wisely.

Cricket told me the cell tower has been down since September, 2018 in my area and that they are scheduled to fix it in two weeks. I have been told this same thing every time I call them and complain that I have no service. I am going on 4 months of the exact same story from them. I can not make or receive calls on any of the 3 phones that are all in the same household and on the same plan. I am only able to use the phone if I drive 10+ miles away to a Starbuck and then I am able to make and receive calls. To me that is not providing me with service. If I am unable to use the phone at home then I do not have service. I have called many times and wasted a lot of time on hold with this problem. On 1/8/2019 I called them to fine out what is being done. I also told them that I did not want them to take out $90 from my account via autopay and not to turn off my service. The next day they suspended my account on all three phones even after talking with them the day before. I called them and finally talked with a floor manager and she said that I would have to pay the $90.00 inorder for them to turn my account back on. She insisted that I pay for service that she knows they are not providing me with. That sounds illegal to me!
I want a full refund of $90.00 for each month the service has been down since September. I also want to know when the problem will be fixed. It has been escalated three times by the companies managers and still nothing is being done.
They have great coverage, great deals, they don't just have basic cheap phones, they have top notch Samsung devices &the newest iPhone, the 14 Pro Max. Nev3r any issues

THEY CONTACTED OUR COMPANY FOR HVAC REPAIRS AND STILL WILL NOT PAY OUR BILLS. I HAVE READ OTHER REVIEWS ABOUT THEIR SERIVCE, AND APPARENTLY THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS HORRIBLY. AND, THEY CANNOT PAY THEIR BILLS...
They advertise discounted upgrades once per year but this is totally false. I've been with cricket for 5 years on my mom's plan and 10 on my own and have only ever bought phones full price from them and never did an upgrade. My phone's computer system is shutting down and the charger port is not working properly and I am in a pinch for money so I went to do my upgrade. They refused to let me do it, I've talked to several different employees and customer service reps and they refused to let me. One claimed there was no such thing and when I showed proof them he said I'm not eligible till December next year and id have to pay full price. Another one I spoke with tried to tell me I have already done my upgrade with them when I haven't purchased a phone in years and she called me a lier even though my make and model where only made in 2020. Another claimed I'm not due for an upgrade till next month because I had one which I didn't and proved it. They then sent me to their supervisor Sean who was the rudest and stupidest person I've ever spoken to and kept asking which line on your account I said I only have one line then he said you can use your discount in may I said I want to use it now then he told me I wasn't due till next month then I argued and showed I haven't had one ever then he said your not due till February which made no sense and when I confronted him with the fact he said may then next month and then February and he hung up on me. Worst service I have ever received

After being a Cricket wireless customer for close to 10 years, I began to receive notices from them that 4 out of 5 phones on our plan would not work after February due to them discontinuing 3G. All 5 phones on our plan are 4GLTE phones. Yesterday, they suspended my phone and turned it into a worthless brick. I called them this morning and spent 14 minutes on the line with a woman who clearly was speaking some dialect of English that I could not understand before being abruptly disconnected. A while later, my wife called them and spoke with a gentleman about why my phone was suspended. He told her that my phone was not compatible with the Cricket network. She tried to explain that I had been using my phone on Cricket for about four years. After repeating that fact over and over, she was told that my phone was incompatible with the Cricket network and that I would have to purchase a new phone. She told him that if my phone would not work with Cricket anymore that we would be switching to another network. He then said that he would reactivate my line and that I should turn my phone off and back on. Just like magic my phone was working on the Cricket network again. We will be switching networks soon.
I switched my daughter & I from a more reputable company because Cricket offered significantly lower prices. I have friends & family that claimed they were good. Cricket offered a payment plan to purchase a new phone, which I did for my daughter. Within the first 2 weeks, we noticed that they had TERRIBLE coverage (calls were choppy, dropped calls, incredibly slow data). When I tried to move & take our numbers with us, they held a phone hostage since we weren't with them 6 months. I called & argued with Customer Service to let her phone go... to unlock her phone. I was told to "buy her a new phone". The phone was 2 months old, NEW phone, but Cricket has it locked. They suggested that I continue with her coverage. My daughter cannot use her new phone until January, when the 6 months are up & I have to call again to get it unlocked. I replied "And give you money for service that doesn't provide what it's supposed to?" I DO NOT RECOMMEND CRICKET WIRELESS! I'm surprised they are still in business!
They will tell you what you want hear, thats not true, once your billed,DO not do auto pay with cricket wireless they will rob your bank account,They are not to be trusted at all.
