Cricket after tearing up a phone on my account, then refusing us upgrades we could afford, thanks to their bait and switch scheme. Display phones under $100 then refuse to sell them, "we only sell phones priced $100 and up" several reps told us that. One moron said "pay $100 for a phone and it will last you 100 years" I told him he was an idiot. Let's see hmm $375 plus taxes and fees to stay with Cricket or $90 for service plus taxes and fees plus 3 free $150 phones. Total cost $150. Yes, we switched to Metro PCS and you should too!
I haven't cried out of shear frustration in years but tonight after 2 hours of trying to get help from cricket chats I'm losing it. All I wanted to do was pay them to add one Gig to my service for the month. Hurricane Helene wiped out my town's internet so I can't watch TV or use my phone because having no wifi burned up my data in 3 days. It took about 2 hours and many customer service chats to get a very SIMPLE payment accomplished. I'm switching to consumer cellular
I would give this a zero if I could. I ordered the SIM card kit and was "upgraded to an e-sim" which is not what I ordered and I would have canceled the order if they had told me. I wanted a SIM card because the phone doesn't support e-sim, another phone on my plan did though. I couldn't cancel the order, get a refund or switch to a card for the thing I ordered, and was told to issue a chargeback through my bank if I felt like I wanted the money I paid back. Of course that cancels the phone lines you need to reactivate for $15. Going from 5 lines for 100 to 130 (30%) price increase while screwing over long-standing customers isn't a great look.

First, let me say that this review is base on my experience with Crickets customer service ability to solve my/our terrible signal issues.
My family upgraded our phones and plans back in November. We got the four phones plans for $100, as well new phones. Hot spot, unlimited data, etc... ok. Our signal was strong with our old phones, but since day one of "upgrading" to our new phones it has been horrible. We have called more than three times about this issue. Several different reps has tried multiple techniques to help us, we were told "the tower that we were getting our signal from was malfunctioning", told "they switched us to another tower that would get our signal strength back", told "to cut our phones off/restart, and they would call back in five minutes". Neither of them EVER called us back.
Calling or going to the stores is no help at all either. Now we're stuck with this extremely poor signal. Cricket Wireless was the best in our rural area that actually provide us with a strong signal. That's why we switched from our previous provider. But as of a few weeks ago they are just as terrible as the rest we've tried.
You know the name fits them well, because ALL we hear is Crickets when trying to use our services.
I was a 3 year long customer of Cricket Wireless and had my bill setup for auto pay. Last month something went wrong and their auto pay did not go through (it was being billed through my credit card and whatever the cause of this, it was not through any fault of mine). I contacted Cricket when it came to my attention, which was only one day after the pre pay bill was due to pay it manually and they informed me that I would have to pay a $15 reconnect fee despite the circumstances of how the bill should have been paid through their autodraft system. They refused to waive the $15.00 fee; therefore I decided to switch carriers. Fast forward 20 days later and I did in fact switch carriers and called Cricket to find out when I could expect a refund of the unused days that I paid for, to which they replied that no refund would be given as this is their company policy. So in essence, they want you to prepay for a month of service, but you will not receive a refund if you opt out of their service mid month. Also, you cannot depend on their autodraft process for billing, and you will get charged a reconnect fee if you are even one day late with your payment. Cricket Wireless is the absolute worst!

Got a phone. Went on vacation. It was not set up right by store mgr. Contacts weren't transferred, couldn't even voice text. Got back wanted a refund. They said 8days they could not do a thing. They treat you badly even if you have been a loyal customer for 10years
Reluctantly purchased $500 S9 because my S7 won't work with Cricket hotspot. A month later, after repeated attempts, Cricket CANNOT ACTIVATE the phone and will not release the network unlock code until the phone has been ACTIVE 6 months... They refuse to refund my money... Total jerks
--BUYER BEWARE: The 7 day return period on a Cricket phone doesn't begin after the phone gets activated / becomes useful, it begins the second you receive it.
Worked great for a month... then horrible, Stopped getting reception in the house. Then outside of the house. Then texts wouldn't send. The phone didn't ring and I wouldn't get the voicemail till hours later. Horrible. Switched to Redpocket and now on the same phone for the same money I'm back on the verizon lines and everything is normal again.
Coverage is terrible. Can't make or receive calls unless you have WiFi calling barely able to receive or send text. Charges existing customers upgrade fee on top of having to purchase a new phone.
My account was hacked, someone was able to call in, give my PIN code, change all my information, and cancelled the remaining 4 lines + mobile hotspot! After 3 calls to Customer Service and 2 visits to the store (with my valid ID), all they were able to say was "I'm sorry ma'am, there's nothing we can do"! I tell you what you can do, you can take Cricket and shove it, not only will you not get another red cent out of me, I will make sure all my Facebook friends and family know to NEVER use your service!

When we opened a new account cricket employee told us we had a store credit but it was a credit card. Called customer service and they were no help! Be careful ask questions!
I've been loyal to this company - using their service and more for more than 5 years. Then I decided to try out T-Mobile since they had a "Phone Promotion" in which Cricket doesn't have. So, I tried to get a refund since I paid for my monthly service in full recently - yet they claim that, "WE DON"T GIVE OUT REFUNDS TO OUR CUSTOMERS IF THEY CANCEL SERVICE". Basically I got scr&w&d for $200 when I decided to pay the damn bill a month ahead. Never again.

AVOID THE UNLIMITED CARDS - They say $10 Unlimited - what you get is 200 minutes and someone on the phone at Cricket Customer support rep telling you there is no such card. FRUSTRATING! - GO BOOST MOBILE or VIRGIN.
The good - on the AT&T net work for coverage is good. Cost for 4 lines for prepaid service is about as cheap as you can find. That's about all the good I can say.
The bad - when something goes wrong, customer service is a nightmare! A week ago yesterday my main phone number was ported out of my account without my permission or authorization. I have been on the phone with "customer service" EVERY DAY since and there is still no fix for this problem. I use my phone for business so this is a big problem. Their call center is clearly outsourced to an out of country call center as I have yet to speak with anyone who speaks very good English nor do they understand me very well. When I try to escalate to a higher authority they can't do anything. Additionally, they have basically told me they are "researching" to determine if I am telling the truth about my account (i. E. they think I requested the number be ported out) which is asinine. Why would I sabotage my own account? Why can they not resolve this in less than a week (much less within the same day)? What happened to the customer is always right? Anyway, your choices are (1) roll the dice with cricket that nothing will go wrong and you'll never have to deal with customer service or (2) stay away! I recommend #2.
Very poor customer service, unable to solve the issue/problem where my card was double charged for a bill. The only thing they could do was give me a credit for next month.

My keyboard went out in January and twice after that. Worked for over hr. On FB with Tech and problem was not corrected. Found out others were having the same problem and it has not been fixed (SINCE JANUARY) Went to pay my monthly bill today (9/28/22)on the CRICKET phone and it logged me into their site, but stated there was a technical problem to come back later. Noted the same complaint from others. DON"T use CRICKET.

We switched from Verizon to cricket because it was cheaper. It's half the price, but 1/100th the quality. We were reassured constiantly that we had 4g speeds in our town. When we arrived at our town with cricket we came to find that we had no signal in our town at all except on the edge where we don't live. Even there it is not near 4g speeds. We were getting less that. 1mbps downloading speed. Upload speed was too slow to even measure. Definitely not worth the price. The coverage cricket claims to have is a lie. Very bad company. DO NOT GET!
Called about discrepancy in hotspot data usage, 1st call rep couldn't explain, asked for supervisor, call terminated. 2nd call, explained issue, rep couldn't explain, ask for supervisor, call terminated. 3rd call asked for supervisor right away, got put on hold for 50 minutes, then disconnected. Will be cancelling service soon.
When I went to join Cricket, I went for the free phone for new customers, they did NOT honor that. They are a bait and switch company. Will not upgrade your phone either! Metro PCS does both honor their sales AND upgrade your phone. Cricket needs to be SHUT DOWN
Please take my advice, Do NOT give this company your money! I made the mistake by switching to them, spent a grand to switch over. I've had nothing but little to no service for the last month. I finally had enough and decided to just spend the money and switch carriers again, could not take my calls being dropped any longer. I called them up and they go through two hours worth of troubleshooting which did nothing. Finally they tell me that a tower is down and it will be fixed tomorrow. I tell them it's too late for that crap, I won't go another minute with no phone so I am switching services and demand them to repay me for the last month that I couldn't make calls. And then they tell me that they don't do refunds they can only give me credit on my next months bill. What! Are you kidding me right now? You are a company, a business, a service, and you can't give refunds? What good is a credit to me if I'm ending my service!?! It's useless to me! You expect me to stay with a company and I can't even make a dang call from my house? This company has horrible customer service! If I can help one person in writing this review to warn them about this $#*!ty cell phone company then that will be worth all the money and time I have lost to these people! Please don't make the same mistake as I did and waste your money on this thieving a$$ company!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The Customer Service Reps can barely speak or understand English. Based on repeatedly calling until I could find one with a degree of fluency I would guess 1 out of 4 is able to understand English spoken clearly and slowly. I have yet to find one that can assist in all simple matters like password reset, bill payment issues.
ANTIQUATED ONLINE ACCESS:
Need a password reset? You better have the phone with you and it better be operational If its broken or not with you (as in my case, it's 500 miles away)... you cannot get a password reset like every other carrier who has the ability to send it to your email on file. Ridiculous!
I ordered two Sim cards and two phone cards online (biggest mistake EVER!) After I completed the order got the confirmation number and money was taken off my card the order was cancelled. Now I have been waiting TWO WEEKS for the money to come back on my card. Never again will I use this company and I don't recommend to ANYONE. Unless you wanna get screwed out of your money that is.
