DarnToothySam replaced LCD in Canon camera for about $70 bucks and they had it back to me in 2 weeks. Full story: I did send an e-mail query first which was not answered, then called; Tom answered, told me the repair price listed on web site was too high, and he was about to lower it by about $30 (huh?). He did. Best Buy said it would cost over $200 to replace and I should just buy a new camera. I guess maybe they can work on their communication, but this is a small business and I for one am willing to cut people slack. I read the negative reviews on sitejabber first–most of which sounded to me like the same psycho posting over and over–and found the MANY positive reviews more persuasive. I was not wrong. Would not hesitate to send my camera in again (if I drop it again!).
Where is my order # 16031, or some information about shipping? Discounted credit card already! Any response on it after two weeks? NOTHING! Only "order received", no more! No e-mail response. They charged my credit card more than a month before they ever even shipped my order. They do not answer their phone - or respond to e-mails requesting an update on the status of long overdue orders.
Do yourself a favor and find what you are looking for somewhere else.
I'm having the same experience as most reviewers. I sent my Panasonic Camera on 1/16/12, called and emailed them and haven't gotten a response yet. It's already 2/20 and I'm sending them another email for an update.
I should have done my due diligence and looked them up for any complaints. If I don't hear from them in a day or two, I'll take steps to make sure I get a satisfactory solution to this problem.
For those consumers smart enough to always remain diligent, this would be another cautionary post.
I have had similar problems with this company. I ordered a replacement LCD screen over a month ago and never got anything. My credit card was billed as soon as I placed the order. I have tried to call several times (got recording), have sent emails (no response) and even tried to post on the company's complaint blog, but it never posted. So now I am disputing with my credit card company... hopefully this will take care of things.
I can only stress that you stay away from a company that offers such terrible- or complete lack of- service. This is the first time that I've been moved to post such a strong warning about a company, but anyone who operated with such carelessness should be avoided. Deal with this company at your own peril.

Hey Thomas, I have sent multiple requests for when my part will be here. I see that you request an order number to make sure we are real. It is #*******. PLEASE respond to my emails or refund my $$. I hope you have been reading online reviews from me and telling you that I plan on stopping by your house to see why you haven't responded to anything I have sent you. I have only heard from "Alex" when I was verifying my sending address within two days and have heard nothing since? If you have to special order the OEM part, at least give updates on the progress and don't leave people without proper follow-up. Think twice before you try and screw another person that lives 15 minutes away from you!
I cannot speak highly enough about Thomas and Darn Toothy Sam and the great customer service I received! I ordered some Canon screws from his shop earlier this month and I needed the order to be replaced. He did it the very day I called and gave me such a good deal! I was so appreciative of his help. He's a really nice, down to earth guy running a small, honest shop in Minnesota! Thanks again Thomas, I'll definitely look to you for more help in the future! -Jessica

I sent my point and shoot Samsung camera to them in order to replace a cracked viewfinder LCD display. It took some time for the screen to come in, but the repair happened quickly after that. Unfortunately, it was shipped to the wrong address and it took longer to get it back from the post office at the wrong address. However, I chalk this up to just an honest mistake on their shipping address label. Once we did receive the camera, we found that the new display worked great and it was well worth the wait. If not for the shipping mishap, I would have given them a 4 star rating. I'm sure they will understand why I chose a 3.

I placed an order for a small part about 6 weeks ago. I got an email ten days ago saying that my Oder status had changed to 'shipped'. Today when I went tO the USPS website to track the shipment it says it just shipped yesterday. I would never do business with this guy again! He also does not respond to emails.
Well, these guys are a little on the slow side as it took three weeks to receive a part for my Nikon digital camera, but they did deliver and the part was in excellent condition. And, I must say I did save a few dollars over purchasing this part elsewhere and considering the free shipping. Perhaps in this day and age of instant gratification, we are a little spoiled. I would have have given them five stars had they been about a week faster, but in my experience, they are honest and delivered exactly what I ordered.
Took my money and did not send ordered part until set up a dispute at Paypal. Took 20 days to receive item and like a fool I did not try to install into my camera, just opened package, made sure not broken, and closed dispute. Last weekend tried to install and the LCD screen I ordered is wrong size! Tried to contact via email and phone, no response. Paypal can't do anything because I closed dispute. So here I am with out my money or the proper part. Watch out for this guy!

Thomas. It's been over 40 days since my Order #******* Date: 28th Jun 2011. All I gotten is: "Back order from supplier", "parts arrived broken", "got the chrome 'base' section but run out of the aluminum repair kits", "will have them in stock next week and will ship out right away" (and two weeks later still nothing). This is not what I paid for. Please, either send the part ordered and paid for, or credit my account. Thanks for trying.
No problem, your order has been cancelled and refunded. You won't find this part made out of aluminum anywhere else in the world, but Sony does have the same plastic one that already broke for the same price. Sorry for trying to get you an aluminum shutter button that will never break again.

I never got the battery door part that he charged me for. It's been far too long. I believe Thomas in the beginning but then I was easily able to see through his lies. How many times does he think a customer will believe it arrived broken and them that he forgot to order it again. He actually told me it arrived to him broken twice. Then when he says he shipped it to me it got list. He never gave me a proper tracking number. He got away with my $20, what a sad place to do business with. I have now read the business is not real, it's going on from his parents house from what I understand. Go elsewhere, Nikin can sell you the battery door if you need one. He just gets them there and hikes up the prices and then never even send anything. I would keep far from doing business with darntoothysam.com. A kind of foolish name too but getting nothing when you pay is all wrong.
HR, I have no idea who you are and most everything you say is false. If you are a REAL customer then prove it. What is your order number and your name? I don't believe you are a real customer and I don't believe we will ever hear from you again. If you are real you will tell us your name and order number.
I have NEVER told anyone we had received broken battery doors from our supplier because it has NEVER happened.
If you purchased a battery door from us then we either sent it to you or if we haven't we will refund your purchase.
On 3/12/12, I paid for a LCD camera repair through his website and shipped my camera via priority mail. 2 weeks later, my first contact was that the camera was received. It has been over a month now with zero follow ups by email and phone and I have received no response as to the repair of the camera. The calls and emails go unanswered.
If it takes over a month to repair a camera, it should be stated upon checkout to reduce the problems customers may have. At this point, I want a refund and my camera back so I can go somewhere else.

Every bad review that you read about this company is true. I sent my camera for repair in 8/2012. Three months later, no word at all as to its status. I understand the owner doesn't respond to emails (true in my case) and doesn't respond to voicemails (true as well in my case). What an interesting customer service model!

After ordering a part, I made several attempts to contact them for the status of where the part was. They did not respond until I indicated that I would be contacting my credit card company and the site they advertised on. Then they sent the item, but back-dated when it was sent.
When I received the part, it was defective. They never responded to my attempts to contact them for a refund.
I ordered a part from this place months ago and nothing arrived, yet I was billed the same day I had placed my order. It just says "order received" but I didn't get anything. I have called too many times to count. It's always a recording and it says messages aren't checked which basically tells me not to leave a message. Ordered a part to repair my camera (thank god I never sent it in to be repaired) and here I am 2 and a half weeks later still waiting for it to arrive. I sent multiple emails and didn't get 1 reply. I ordered an o-ring for my camera housing, and after 3 weeks I hadn't received it. My emails went unanswered and they don't pick up messages from their phone. Scam? I think so. I have filed for a refund with paypal.
I ordered a replacement part for my camera, which broke a week before my trip to Hawaii. This was one of the only websites that offered my part, so I ordered it and ponied up the dough for priority shipping, thinking that surely it would arrive within a week... Turns out the package was not even shipped until 5 days after I ordered! Now I'm headed for the vacation of a lifetime without a working camera. For some reason your part was greatly delayed, sorry. I see by the tracking number from our supplier that it was processed in St. Paul on Saturday, so we will have it here Monday. We will ship it to you Monday, and you will have it Tuesday.
Alex spends most of the day here repairing cameras and doing shipping. He also has been given the task of answering all emails at the sales@darntoothysam.com address. He took a few days off for summer vacation, which many people do, and so we are very far behind in emails at this time. I am going to start answering emails at night as well to try and get us caught up, we get a lot of emails.
