DarnToothySam replaced LCD in Canon camera for about $70 bucks and they had it back to me in 2 weeks. Full story: I did send an e-mail query first which was not answered, then called; Tom answered, told me the repair price listed on web site was too high, and he was about to lower it by about $30 (huh?). He did. Best Buy said it would cost over $200 to replace and I should just buy a new camera. I guess maybe they can work on their communication, but this is a small business and I for one am willing to cut people slack. I read the negative reviews on sitejabber first–most of which sounded to me like the same psycho posting over and over–and found the MANY positive reviews more persuasive. I was not wrong. Would not hesitate to send my camera in again (if I drop it again!).
Where is my order # 16031, or some information about shipping? Discounted credit card already! Any response on it after two weeks? NOTHING! Only "order received", no more! No e-mail response. This is a joke with the client. Almost no review speak well of you. If they are responsible, waiting a decent answer!
I sent my Canon SD750 to darntoothysam.com on 27 Aug. For a lens barrier shutter flaps repair. I got it back on 08 Sep. The service was good and timely. I would have been happier to know that he received it, but the camera came back before I got too worried.
I had a shutter button problem with my Sony DSC-H2 broken just like many other people have had. Found Thomas's site and ordered my Replacement button within a week had my part and repaired my camera. I called to talk to Tom answered the 1st time my experience with his store has been very good will do more business in the future...
I sent in my daughters Sony DSC-T77 camera to have the LCD replaced. I have to say that the order took a little longer to repair than I would have liked but I'm an impatient person and my daughter really wanted her camera fixed to take on a trip. After I confirmed that the camera was received I waited a week and tried calling. Upon hearing his message that he is the only one in the shop to take calls, I waited. A week later I received an email from Thomas updating me that the camera was fixed and would be shipped the next day. I paid for expedited return shipping and my daughter got her camera in time. All is good. In fact, she likes the view from the LCD even better than when we sent it to Sony for the same type of repair under her warranty a year ago. I would recommend this place for anyone.
After reading previous reviews, I cautiously ordered a memory door for my Nikon D90. The worst that could happen was that I loose $14. I was extremely surprised to find the package in my mail today. The correct part and that was the quickest delivery I have ever had. Took only a few working days. I would highly recommend this site.
They do take their time to repair your camera but they have great customer service. I read all the negative reviews for their company but somehow took the risk and sent my camera for repair and I am very pleased with their service and great customer service.
Lets not forget that these kind of works will take time.
Thank you Thomas Drayton.
Your reviewApparently because Mr. Thomas is always busy, it is possible that the fall in some extra time to ship orders, but I can say that Mr. Thomas I fulfilled my order, I buy on a Sensor for Canon 7D, which costs U.S. $ 329.00 dollars, once you talk to know it's a good guy will help others learn about this website.

Ordered a part to repair my camera (thank god I never sent it in to be repaired) and here I am 2 and a half weeks later still waiting for it to arrive. I sent multiple emails and didn't get 1 reply. I tried calling god knows how many times but get no answer. I have never had such an awful experience with an online retailer in all my life. Well darntoothysam, since you don't answer calls and don't answer emails hopefully you will respond to this negative review. My order number is ******* all I want is an answer of when it will be shipped. If I don't get a reply in 24hrs I will be disputing the transaction through paypal. I'll be sure to follow up here tomorrow and let everyone know if i get an answer or not.
I ordered an o-ring for my camera housing, and after 3 weeks I hadn't received it. My emails went unanswered and they don't pick up messages from their phone. Scam? I think so. I have filed for a refund with paypal.
My Canon G9 suffered the 'won't power up due to the loose screws' problem encountered by many others. After following another websites instructions to take apart the camera for inspection, I ordered a part from darntoothysam on August 11,2010. After waiting 11 days, I called and emailed to find out if it had shipped. I left a voicemail and I received an email stating it shipped [the next day] on August 23. I received it August 31and installed the part [it works again!] -- keep in mind I'm overseas at a military post office so if I were stateside, I would've gotten it by August 26. All said and done, the price of $47 for the new DCC power board (actual canon part) and 20 days to get to me overseas was better than replacing the camera of dealing with Canon. I'd do it again.
I have done multiple transactions with darntoothysam and everything has been smooth for me. I have ordered some parts and had work done on a few cameras. I always pay through paypal and my stuff gets sent to me within the 7-10 days they promised me. I had work on a shutter button and it was repaired within a week. It seems a few people had a bad experience and are attacking this sites owner, which seems a little childish to me, but i guess act however you want on the internet. Overall experience on my end at least had no issues and will do business with again (hopefully won't have to because i don't like my cameras breaking haha)
Thanks Ron, I appreciate it!

My order process was simple and a breeze to complete. The repairs were performed flawlessly and to perfection. I will recommend darntoothysam.com to anyone wishing for quality camera repair. Thanks for a quick and great job!
I purchased a sony cyber shot a number of years ago. I like the camera it takes nice pictures and I know all the options on the camera. The shutter button broke. I contacted darntoothysam (the only camera place that would even look at the camera, sony wanted $180 just to look at it). I spoke with the owner a number of times and was informed about all my options. I was told that problems my arise when the camera is opened up. The owner was very informative and helpful, he returned my calls in a timely matter and kept me informed. The camera repair took a while, but i understood the circumstances. I could not have purchased this type of camera for the price nor could I have repaired it anywhere else. So it was worth the wait and money.
Thank you for the review, sometimes we run out of the shutter buttons and it takes a little while to get more in. I'm glad you are happy with the repair, and please keep us in mind if we can help you or your friends with anything in the future.

I ordered a replacement part for my camera, which broke a week before my trip to Hawaii. This was one of the only websites that offered my part, so I ordered it and ponied up the dough for priority shipping, thinking that surely it would arrive within a week... Turns out the package was not even shipped until 5 days after I ordered! Now I'm headed for the vacation of a lifetime without a working camera. Should've known better ordering from a website called darntoothysam!
This man is not only untruthful in his claims on his website of camera repair but his practise of accepting cameras and then not returning them needs investigating by the police. I sent my camera to him Oct 4th 2010. I have never seen it since. I did speak to him in November though. He told me me he had it sent to be fixed by someone, somewhere in Texas. I was told I would get it last week of November directly from Texas. Now December 27th no camera still but I filed complaint through BBB. Next time I will pay more to send to Canon. This has been the best lesson for sending to Canon instead of darntoothysam. Who is poor excuse for a repair service.
My customer service experience with darntoothysam.com was great. We were looking for our order we place and needed the next day so our camera was available for an event. I called and spoke with Thomas who understood our situation and was so helpful. He expedited the shipment and I got it the next morning before 10am. They are friendly and the customer service was beyond great. Thanks goes out to Thomas at Darntoothysam! I will be back if I have more camera needs and definitely recommend the website to anyone.
I needed a spare part for my Sony camera and placed an order with darntoothysam.com. There was about a one day lag before I had a response and thereafter no problem. I received two emails; one confirming my order and the second advising me that the part had been despatched.
I then received the spare part 8 days after my inital order.
It was quite a good experience and I would use darntoothysam again.

Thank you Chris, I'm glad you were happy with your purchase!
I have ordered a camara part almost a month ago and I received it correctly and in new condition last week. His emails bounces everytime, But he answered the phone politly when I call 3 times and explained him I need it before thanksgiving and I got the part on friday. Thank you very much.
Sandhya, I'm sorry for the delay with your purchase, and I don't know if there's something wrong with the email or not but we do get 50-100 per day! Your battery door was a special item, we had never sold one before! I'm just glad that it arrived safely, and thank you for your kind feedback!

Lengthy repair, however I was in no hurry to receive it back. I have had the camera back for some time now, and am very satisfied. If you need it in a hurry, you're going to have a bad time. Over all, I would send again,
I ordered a lens repair kit for a Canon point-n-shoot camera. The kit I received was for the wrong camera, only the lens cover was correct. I called and emailed them with no response. I finally decided to leave a voice message on the toll number despite the recording saying not to do so. They called back within minutes and they shipped out the correct parts. I have installed them and the camera is working well, so I have no complaints.
I admit I was a bit frustrated by how difficult it was to actually make contact with them, but when I was able to connect they made it right. I think these people mean well and are not malicious, but I do think their internet business has grown faster than they have been able to keep up. This is a great problem for a business to have, but customers may see occasional problems while the business catches up with demand.
Thanks Curtis. I try and answer the phone as best I can, but it's a challenge. I also need to find a way to be able to respond to emails better as well. I appreciate your patience!

About a year ago, Darntoothysam repaired my Canon G9. It had the same problem every other G9 had or will have where because of a design/manufacturing defect screws come loose and shorts out a circuit board. (Canon refuses to acknowledge this problem and is therefore on my slist). They did it quickly and for a fair price. About 6 months ago, my Canon underwater housing leaked and the camera got flooded. I asked if they had a refurbished one I could buy or repair mine or if I should just buy a used one on eBay and have them check it out to make sure the screws were secure. The recommended the latter. I bought one and sent it to them and for a very reasonable price they took it apart, confirmed the screws were not properly secured and secured them. I had the camera back in 1 week. This was my second very good experience with them
Ordered a Nikon replacement battery door. After a couple of weeks waiting, I wrote an email and got an answer about delays. After yet another couple of weeks, they didn't even bother to respond to the next email.
Stay away!
I had no problems with this business. I ordered a circuit board for my G11 and had in my hands a little more then two weeks later. I think that's pretty good for a 15 dollar part and without shipping costs. Would I have liked it sooner? Well duh of course. But I had my camera's LCD screen working in under five minutes and could not be happier. Thanks darntoothysam
Thank you Jon, appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review! We do try and carry most of these small parts, but hadn't sold a G11 board for awhile so we didn't have any on hand. Glad to hear you got your camera working again quickly and easily.

My experience with Darntoothysam was good. I ordered a single spare part - bayonet for Canon S5is as the price was very good. I accidently used the wrong postage address and Thomas answered my questions swiftly, and offered an alternative solution. In the end, the part made it to me in Australia without an issue.
I sent my camera in on Oct. 31 and received it back on Nov. 11 fixed and works perfectly. I also received emails during the time it was being repaired giving me an update on the status and when it was finished and mailed back out. I can't complain about my experience. I was very happy.
I recieved what I ordered, no problems. I only have a problem with him ignoring my e-mails about my order after not getting it for a week or two. I finally got a response from him on his web page blog with a resonable answer. I can understand the phone thing though. Customer service (e-mail returns) needs work.
Sorry for the inconvenience with your order Norman.
Your Sony H2 shutter button we have to buy from Sony, then we BREAK OFF the plastic shutter button and put in our SOLID ALUMINUM button before shipping it out to the customer. We ran out of repair kits unfortunately and had to wait to get more in before we could send out your part.

Hi Jack, sorry for not sending you an update when we received your camera. We opened the package and I kept it on my desk and did the repair the next day. We normally log them in and put them in a bin while waiting to get them in line to be repaired. I knew we had the parts and I could do your repair quickly, so I took care of it and shipped back as quickly as I could.
